The Second American Republic needs to be  1) Counter-Revolutionary;  2) Authoritarian in it's early phase;  3) solidly "Militarist" in the European-Latin America tradition, but taking a page from the pre-WWII Japanese junior officers;  and 4)  still maintaining British-style liberal-conservative  democratic traditions, aspirations and formalities 

Think of Francisco Franco's Spain,  Augusto Pinochet's Chile,  Argentina under the Generals in the 1980s, or how Italy would have been had Prince Junio Valerio de Borghese had rightfully been allowed ascend to power after WW II,  mixed in with a healthy dollop of Charles André Joseph Marie de Gaulle-ist democratic- authoritarian arrogance  ---   yet still teaching and respecting, and when appropriate thoughtfully applying some of the basic thinking of Burke, Locke and the U.S. Federalists

Wait and prepare for "Phase One"  >>>   a bottom up rebellion of the junior officers and enlisted ranks of U.S. warriors against any and all non-warrior, politicized and bureaucratic flag officers at the Pentagon, and in all other commands  ---   especially, those loyal to the existing chain of command from the stolen presidency through the ultra-woke-diversity-driven SecDef.....

When it comes to City Council, Bob Capano is very old news

 

The most recent mention of Bob Capano and any run for the NYC Council in any widely read or viewed media is his failed attempt to get on the GOP line in 2017,  mostly running against John Quaglione and Liam McCabe in that years GOP Primary  >>>  where Capano finished a distant third.....

There was scant mention of Bob's abominable third party run during the General Election in that same year of 2017  ---  a campaign aimed only at hurting Republican John Quaglione's chances against Democrat Justin Brannan  ---   what little there might have been, mostly was in the reporting of Bob Capano's later ostentatious abandonment of the GOP to take up arms against State Senator Marty Golden in 2018 as a third party chairman of a hijacked party that soon after Marty's defeat went defunct  ---  while Bob Capano went onto Andrew Gounardes' transition team

Now almost forgotten, but then well reported upon, was Capano's 2009 City Council race  >>>  it was a humiliating almost two-to-one loss to Vincent J. Gentile.....

Least known by most folks was Bob Capano's brief attempt to take the Republican-Conservative nomination away from the hard-working and very popular Pat Russo in 2005  ---  that attempt by Capano crashed and burned on takeoff (he was barely able to get out alive  ---  with many of that era's GOP activists out for Bob's blood)

In my prior featured article, I referred to looking at things in the Brooklyn GOP as akin to watching paint dry.....   For his part in it, I described Bob Capano and his campaign as more like a slap-dash coat of "White Wash"  ---  with an obvious emphasis on the "White..." part.  

If the GOP actually entertains Beer Can Bobby Capano's recent foray,  it will be very much like trying to peddle "old wine in new wineskins" by an ignorant of history Brooklyn GOP Chairman, who would be hoping against hope to dupe an  unsuspecting public in November.....

When it comes to form, there is an awful lot of racing data about Bob Capano  ---  he is consistent, when it comes to the City Council,  Bob runs badly.....  And his trend line over the last sixteen years is that he has gone from bad to worse.

Is watching the Brooklyn GOP nowadays like watching fresh paint dry ???

Sorry, that was a trick question.....

The Brooklyn GOP hasn't had anything close to a fresh coat of paint in over a generation  ---  just about the time Marty Golden first ran for the NYC Council in the last decade of the last century of the last millennium in 1997-1998  ---  that's twenty-three or twenty-four years ago

How bad has it gotten ???   Well, I have it on fairly good authority that Beer Can Bob Capano is telling folks that he is almost confident  (note: not "almost certain") that he can beat Brian Fox in a primary for the GOP City Council line for the 43rd Council District  ---  if it actually comes down to that  ---   he even bandied about that Ghorra & Co. were terrified at seeing the submission of large numbers of GOP signatures on certain petitions

Don't be fooled  ---  Capano is anything but a fresh coat of paint for the Brooklyn GOP  ---  he has already signaled that what he is offering is not fresh paint, but instead, good old-fashioned "White Wash"  ---   At a time when Republicans are being buffeted by false charges of "Jim Crow" and racism from all sides, don't be surprised if you see a healthy dose of the real thing coming out of the joint Capano-Sliwa campaigns in the upcoming GOP primaries

Now, I'm not ready to call Capano and whoever is allied with and/or supporting him a bunch of racists.....   YET.....

However, let's see what happens next.....

When Uncle Fester says, "Why, it's Un-American !!!" --- what he really means is "It's un-Democratic" (small "u" -- big "D")

Because everybody knows in their hearts and souls that the only way "Uncle Fester" Joe Biden became POTUS was by the open and notorious theft of the 2020 Election for President in about half a dozen key states.....  Most of the states in the United States are in the process of reforming their state voting laws and rules to make a repeat stolen election for President and other offices more difficult in the future

In President Biden's first news conference earlier today, he called all such voter integrity legislation "Unamerican" and "undemocratic,"  saying:  "What I'm worried about is how un-American this whole initiative is....  It's sick ....  It is all designed...  [t]he Republican voters I know find this despicable, Republican voters....  I’m convinced that we’ll be able to stop this, because it is the most pernicious thing—this makes Jim Crow look like Jim Eagle...."

That's why Uncle Fester, Nancy Pelosi, and Chuck Schumer are pulling out all of the stops to pass HR-1, the so-called  "For the People Act of 2021"  ---  and part of that effort is their attempt to completely overturn the rules, practices and traditions of the U.S. Senate going back over two hundred years

In response, the top Republican in the U.S. government, Mitch McConnell, said this with respect to the bill that President Biden was pushing, HR.1 (now being considered by the U.S. Senate as "S.1"):   "So this is not about anything other than trying to help the Democrats win elections in perpetuity....  They want to change the system to benefit themselves and they want to have instead of a referee they want the FEC to be a prosecutor...." 

What Uncle Fester didn't make clear today was how a category of such varied pieces of legislation and rules across the length and breadth of this country in a majority of states could be "undemocratic" if it all was being passed by the democratically elected legislatures or Election Boards duly empowered by such legislatures, and in many instances also signed-off by the democratically elected governors in those states.

What Uncle Mitch hasn't made clear is that  ---  what the scant Democrat majorities in the U.S. House and Senate are trying to do is to make their thefts of the Presidency and several House and Senate seats in the 2020 elections permanent by means of a very political piece of legislation that is not only cynical and disruptive, it is  unconstitutional in many ways and destructive of the very architecture of all government in the United States, both federal and state.

Who is Brian Fox ? --- Shouldn't we know more about him if he is a serious candidate for CIty Council ??? Is he just another "Mark Szuszkiewicz" (who is running for City Council in District 47) ?????

 

So far, the only "earned" media that Brian Fox has piled up is a small announcement bit in the Brooklyn Reporter that contains some threadbare biographical material  ---  and which unceremoniously links him to Mark Szuszkiewicz in it's ultimate paragraph   --- AND ---   a  mention by the "Queen of the Click" (who was trying to be nice to the candidate, but obviously had very little to work with)


Perhaps one should not focus on Brian & Mark  ---  after all the two leading GOP hopefuls for mayor, Fernando Mateo and Curtis Sliwa, aren't setting the media channels ablaze with "earned" coverage either


Let's see how all these Republican candidates do with petitioning  ---  it's a nuts'n'bolts sort of thing that should be routine and easy  ---  but for these folks, it seems to be a joint and several Herculean task inside their broader Sisyphean quests

At this stage, things aren't looking very promising for the Brooklyn or City-wide GOP in 2021.....  And it doesn't seem to matter which "insider" GOP team you're on, or which plug horse(s) you are backing for Mayor or Council.....

Apparently unarmed man arrested on Washington, D.C., street for stalking Vice President who wasn't even near the area

 

Suspect had been a drone operator discharged by the U.S. military several yeas ago  ---  and recently under treatment at the VA for mental health issues

Gun and ammunition found in car parked in a Washington, D.C., public parking garage about a fifteen minute drive from the place outside the VP's residence where the suspect had been detained by the Secret Service prior to his arrest by the DC Police

All of it is supposed to have been the result of a BOLO from Texas about a man experiencing "paranoid delusions"

On Wednesday, the U.S. Secret Service reported that a suspect named Paul Murray, 31, a former military drone operator, was detained by its uniformed officers on a street near the government complex that houses the U.S. Naval Observatory and the official residence of the Vice President of the United States.  

Murray was observed on Massachusetts Avenue which encircles the northeast quarter of the grounds that house the U.S. Naval Observatory and the official residence of the vice president;  and he was detained at that location by a uniformed detail of the Secret Service.  At the time, the official residence for the Vice President was unoccupied, because it is undergoing renovations. Vice President Kamala Harris and her husband Doug Emhoff currently are staying at Blair House near the White House.

Later, the Washington Metropolitan Police Department said that its officers arrested and charged Murray with carrying a dangerous weapon, carrying a rifle or shotgun outside of a business, possession of unregistered ammunition and possession of a large-capacity ammunition-feeding device.  Also according to the D.C. police, a rifle and ammunition were recovered from Murray's vehicle.​  

According to local news reporters and picked up in the national media, Paul Murray was charged with the weapons and ammunition offenses after he told the authorities that his car was parked in a garage several blocks away, and that it contained a semi-automatic rifle, over one hundred rounds of ammunition, and five 30-round magazines. 

Multiple reports indicated the arrest was sparked by an "intelligence bulletin that originated from Texas."  A Texas law enforcement bulletin said Murray had been experiencing "paranoid delusions" that the military or government wanted to kill him, and that he had sent his mother a text message saying he was in Washington and was going to "take care of his problem."  Local reports from Texas indicated that Paul Murray had many police involved incidents consistent with a person experiencing mental health problems.  

There is no explanation as to how Murray allegedly recently obtained an AR-15 rifle with a high capacity magazine.

Why should any Republican or any other activist that normally supports Republicans lift a finger or care in the least what is going on with any of  the so-called "Republican" candidates running in Brooklyn in 2021 ?

Furthermore, the notion that there might be any meaningful GOP primaries in Brooklyn in 2021 is both farcical and ridiculous.....

The National Guard folks are not happy having to defend the Capitol against the American people

 

See little justification in their extended deployment to Capitolhillestan after Biden's Defense Secretary Lloyd Austin overruled the chief of the National Guard  Bureau with the decision to keep National Guard troops at the U.S. Capitol

Letter from the leadership of the National Guard Association of the United States (NGAUS)  --- published in the "Military Times" and other relevant media ---  calls for an end to the National Guard presence at the U.S. Capitol  

Meanwhile, the mainstream media reports focused on the numbers of National Guard troops being removed from the Washington, D.C., contingent  >>>  and not on the remaining 2500 now approved for continued duty there

In spite of organizational recommendations to the contrary, earlier this week the Pentagon approved a request from Capitol Police authorizing  the continued garrisoning of about 2,300 National Guardsmen at the Capitol through May 23, 2021. That number is roughly half of the 5,100 DC and state-related troops now stationed at the Capitol, with most of their deployments expected to end this past Friday.  

Furthermore, the Department of Defense is reportedly considering issuing involuntary activation orders so as to keep a sufficient number of National Guard troops stationed at the U.S. Capitol. The deliberations on the mandatory activation of certain guardsmen came just one day after SecDef Lloyd Austin said that he authorized extending the National Guard troop's time stationed at the Capitol until May 28th.  

Increasingly vocal criticism about this ever-stretching deployment have come from current and former defense officials, and other stakeholders in the National Guard/ Army Reserve establishment across the country.  

For example, National Guard Bureau chief Gen. Daniel Hokanson sent a memo to senior Pentagon officials last month, that said  senior guard officials were having difficulty finding enough "volunteers" from relevant DC and state-based units to continue the mission. 

This past Friday, the leadership of the National Guard Association of the United States (NGAUS) released a statement saying it was becoming “increasingly difficult to convince Guard soldiers and airmen that their continued presence at the Capitol is warranted....” (citing a year of unprecedented demands on National Guard units across the USA thanks to the COVID-19 pandemic and several other natural disasters).  

NGAUS Chairman Maj. Gen. Michael McGuire and NGAUS President, retired Brig. Gen. J. Roy Robinson,  said in the release that  "... National Guard soldiers and airmen here in Washington need to return home to their families, civilian employers and regular military obligations....”

The lead Democrat House Impeachment Manager calls on FBI to report on "White Supremacist" police officers and firemen across the U.S.

 

Rabid anti-Trump Democrat House Member Jamie Raskin wants  >>>  the FBI to show that it is prepared to hunt down so-called "White Supremacist" cops, firemen and other security personnel across the USA

This week,  the lead Impeachment Manager at the Impeachment Trial of President Trump before the U.S. Senate made a "request" to the FBI  >>>  after it was determined that several active and retired police & security personnel had been charged with criminal acts connected to the January 6th events on Capitol Hill

According to myriad reports in the mainstream media, Maryland Democrat Congressman Jamie Raskin, has demanded FBI officials formally brief Congress on what it is doing to address so-called "White Supremacists" that are part of law enforcement agencies across the country. 

As chairman of the House Oversight and Reform Committee, Raskin said on Wednesday that he sent a letter to FBI Director Christopher Wray, calling for a  briefing for certain House members to be held no later than March 26th. 

According to Raskin,  "....  The shocking participation of law enforcement personnel in the Jan. 6 domestic terrorist attack against Congress and our Capitol Police means that the Bureau must level with the American public about the steps it is taking to combat the infiltration of law enforcement departments by White supremacists....  Given the FBI's refusal just last year to admit that extremist police officers posed a serious threat to our nation's security, I am now concerned that the bureau lacks an adequate strategy to respond to this clear and present danger to public safety...."  

Among those arrested in connection with the January 6th demonstrations, and the later events at the Capitol were what has been described as  "...  at least 18 former and current police officers, firefighters and military service members...". Raskin said.

Why didn't Trump lead his QAnon Army into Washington, D.C., on March 4th and be inaugurated as President --- several security agencies and many in the Mainstream media had spoken about it as if it were something that might really happen

Last night, Tucker Carlson explained that the left apparently lives in fear of a populist uprising of well-armed Americans driving their pickup and larger trucks through the puny police and National Guard barriers and fences in and around the nations capital  ---  and repeating the all-to-successful assault on the Capitol of January 6th

The historicists on the left really fear another historical moment, one that they know is long-overdue for repetition in capitals across the West  ---  Mussolini's October 1922 "March on Rome"  ---  which ushered in more than twenty-two years of Fascist rule over Italy

In many ways, today's so-called "QAnon Army" and/or a variety of Alt-Right militias are quite analogous to the "Squadristi" Fascist militias, which were the flying squads and shock troops of the historic March on Rome of 1922, and its contemporary penetrations across various key locales around Italy

The most important historic reality about the Fascist Revolution in Italy was that it was accomplished relatively peacefully, with power handed over to Mussolini by the prior socialist regime without large-scale bloodshed.

At present, similar paths are being explored here in the United States.  Many on the left believe that several of the Capitol Police assisted the demonstrators in their takeover of the Capitol. Multiple post-January 6th investigations are trying to root-out active Trump supporters in the U.S. military and other security agencies.  Whether any of that gets anywhere remains to be seen.

Because of the careerist bent of most senior military officers in the U.S. military and security agencies, there seems to be little worry of a "Francoist" style rebellion, much less "revolution." However, Victor Hanson Davis has pointed out that there still remain some true warriors even at the highest administrative levels of the U.S. armed services, and even among their allies in the military-industrial complex [and a rapid rise of a robust militarist sentiment, like in post-WW I Germany and Japan is not impossible].

The Epi-phenomenon that says it all about the current state of the Brooklyn GOP in 2021

Faced with the two leading candidates endorsed to run for Mayor on the GOP line by the five NYC County Republican organizations  ---  Fernando Mateo and Curtis Sliwa  ---  both of whom had substantial support among the Brooklyn Republican Executive Committee  ---  there were Kings County Republican Executive Committee members who openly announced that they would more likely be voting for the Democrat  nominee in November than the GOP mayoral standard bearer

It seems that some of  the GOP's older hands see the 2021 race for Mayor as a contest among various clowns in a circus

Meanwhile, Liam Ambrose McCabe is assembling an independent GOP petitioning effort on behalf of Fernando Mateo, the candidate who was rejected by a vote of the Brooklyn GOP Committee

It's great to see the Brooklyn GOP leadership out front and so inspiring to the troops.....
