WHAT GOES ON HERE --- Marty Golden is doing events outside his district, while quality of life issues fester on his doorstep inside that district

Homeless person creates a problem for the people living at-and- around 72nd Street and 5th Avenue in Bay Ridge  ---  To those who don’t know, that’s just two small bocks from Marty Golden’s district office  

I did  two particular  comments to the thread following  my last post on this log below;  and I wanted you all to know how I thought they were important and  might be connected.  The first dealt with the Brooklyn State Senator doing an event at Father Capodanno Boulevard on Staten island;  and the second was about the nuisance problems generated by a homeless man hanging out at 5^th Avenue & 72^nd Street.

POLITICAL IMPACT OF GOLDEN’S OUT-OF-DISTRICT, OUT OF COUNTY EVENT

Golden’s appearance at the event on Staten Island wouldn’t be at all objectionable if it weren’t for it’s subjective and political implications…..   A memorial biker-event for a fallen police officer is actually quite commendable.  However, given all that is going on in Staten Island, with active primaries in both the Republican and Conservative parties,  Golden needs to understand the significance of his being so up front at the out-of-district, out-of-Brooklyn Staten Island event.

Of course, Marty was probably very well aware of all that, because so many of his closest >>>Brooklyn<<< supporters are active with the players generating those primaries on “The Island.”

No doubt, one of the reasons for State Senator Golden’s,  and those close to him, being so adventuresome is that Golden faces no political challenges in his Brooklyn district this year.

HOMELESS ISSUE COMES “HOME” TO ROOST ON GOLDEN’S DOORSTEP

About a week  back,  John Quaglione, Marty Golden’s staffer, posted a  picture  on Facebook that showed  an intersection  near Golden’s District Office as it looked on a summer night.  Not apparent in that somewhat attractive picture was the nearby reality of a serious social pathology --- the homeless living out on our streets during this summer of 2016.

BUT THEY WERE CERTAINLY THERE…..  As was pointed out by Bob Capano, a GOP candidate for the NYC Council, earlier today.  There are problems being caused by a homeless person staying at and around 72^nd Street and 5^th Avenue  --- yes that’s two short blocks from Marty Golden’s district office.

THE TIE-IN

Several comments to my prior post below, were very firm and open in their belief that homelessness was not a problem IN BAY RIDGE; and that BAY RIDGEITES wouldn’t welcome any candidate that strongly addressed the issues created by homelessness in our midst.  Sadly, that seems to be the present world view that is prevalent  among those working in Marty Golden’s office, such that they were blind and unfeeling as to the manifestation of a serious social pathology festering right on their doorstep.

Much of the commentary appearing on this blog appear to be from Golden and Quaglione supporters --- and it’s from that class of people that negative views about Capano’s raising the issues of homelessness both near and far have been expressed.  It’s also those very same folks that repeatedly tout their Brooklyn GOP State Senator’s political dominance in Kings County and his growing power elsewhere around the state -- no doubt, now including Staten Island.

Unfortunately, especially for them, their insights into the social realities of Bay Ridge and nearby communities,  as well as the political clout of their local patron are seriously flawed.  Political predictions whether as to: the definition of the changing boundaries of the political battlefield; identification of issues in their home district  or possible elective outcomes in future races are seriously flawed as a result.

I ASKED BOB CAPANO WHAT DOES HIS APPEARANCE ON "THE CAT'S ROUNDTABLE" MEAN AT THIS TIME

Needless, to say I had to call-up Bob to see what was happening and what it all [Capano's appearance on "The Cat's Roundtable"] might mean at this stage of the Capano campaign.

When we finally connected, Bob Capano said that it all happened very quickly in the middle of the week.  When I asked did you ask to be on your boss's show, Bob answered, “Not at all, John asked me….  He knew about my campaign and he knew that I had just taken up the issue of the implications of rising homelessness around the city…..” 

Capano then told me how they recorded his segment a couple of days ago; and that he was just waiting to see that it was officially listed in the media advisory put out by Rob Ryan, the Catsimatidis factotum for media matters.

I tried to smoke Bob out about how much support he was going to get from John Catsimatidis, but Bob didn’t want to speak for his boss.  However,  Bob did tell me “off the record” what he thought it all meant at this stage of things as far as he was concerned….  I can’t talk about that, but I what I can tell you is what I think about some of this stuff (including stuff from tonight's callback to me from Bob).

Now remember, the following four items are strictly MY OPINIONS about stuff that I heard and/or figured out:

First, John Catsimatidis and Rob Ryan both have long memories; and they also have kept pretty up-to-date about “what’s going on in Bay Ridge” and the rest of Brooklyn [and they know what's going on vis- a-vis Marty Golden and Jerry Kassar];

Second, John Catsimatidis [and probably Rob Ryan too] think(s) that Bob Capano is the right person at the right place at the right time for a City Council race in 2017;

Third, it is still very, very early in the 2017 campaign, and many people have many plans; and

Fourth, without much doubt, John Catsimatidis will be involved in Capano's fund raising in some important ways; but  money and any other support from the Big Cat must be structured based on the precise financing formula(s) that the Capano campaign [and possibly other campaigns] might choose to implement, especially in the context of the municipal campaign financing laws and rules.

I think that’s  enough about the implications of Bob Capano’s appearing on “The Cat’s Rountable” for now…..

AND NOW FOR SOMETHING COMPLETELY DIFFERENT

BTW ---  One of the last things that Bob Capano mentioned to me in our phone call [which was specifically not “off the record”] was this:  Capano is considering an “opt-out” from the NYC public financing of campaigns formulas; and that certain fund-raising and PR experts would be looking at that from various angles – including the interaction with other campaigns, inside and/or outside public financing [part of what has to be weighed is the possibly increased levels of public financing to Capano's opponents if Capano were to opt-out].

NEW YORK POST REPORT: "COPS: DeB WON'T LET US OUST VAGRANTS"

{Brooklyn, NY} – Bob Capano, a staunch supporter of the NYPD and the leading Republican City Council candidate for Brooklyn's 43rd district (Bay Ridge, Dyker Heights, Bensonhurst) race next year, today condemned Mayor de Blasio's policies that have led to an increase of the homeless population on city streets and subways. 

According to a New York Post story today headlined 'Cops: DeB won't let us oust vagrants", cops are being directed by the Mayor not to remove homeless individuals living on streets and in parks. An upper Manhattan resident stated that a homeless couple living outside a building have not been moved by police because of Mayor de Blasio. The resident said, "One of them (a police officer) explicitly blamed Mayor de Blasio, saying something along the lines of 'Look who our boss is and the directives we're getting from the top'." 

Capano. who manages a business and is an adjunct professor of Political Science stated, "This report is not surprising. Whether it is on the streets of Bay Ridge, Downtown Manhattan, the Upper East Side, or our subways, there is a noticeable increase in the number of homeless. Unfortunately, this is just another example of the quality of life gains made in our city under Mayors Giuliani and Bloomberg being reversed, and sparks concerns that we are returning to the 'bad old days'." The New York Post reported that as of Sunday, the city's homeless population is near a record-high of 59,266.  

Capano added, "Last year, after denying it for months, the Mayor finally admitted that there is a homeless increase; however, he has failed to implement policies to reverse this trend. Maybe a good first step would be to take the cuffs off our cops and let them do their jobs, as they were able to do under Mayors Bloomberg and Giuliani."

MAYBE IT'S ONLY POLITICS FOR BOTH CAPANO AND MCCABE

Some have opined that Bob Capano is specifically getting ready to engage with a possible opponent for the Southwest Brooklyn council seat, "Will [Liam]" McCabe, on the broader issues of “homelessness,” and how to care for and/or otherwise deal with the problems caused by the homeless in our communities. 

For an answer as to why, it needs to be noted that many of Mr. McCabe’s recent PR moves have involved various aspect related to the homeless in and around Bay Ridge.  Among other matters are McCabe’s sponsorship of an “annual” race, as well as McCabe’s recent participation in Bay Ridge as part of a many- years-long non-scientific “count” of the homeless living outside of shelters around the city.

Somebody thinks there was something wrong with John Ciampoli's representing Marty Golden and Ted Ghorra --- I think they're right....

WHY WAS THE NEW YORK SENATE REPUBLICAN CAMPAIGN COMMITTEE ATTORNEY, JOHN CIAMPOLI, REPRESENTING TED GORRA, THE GOLDEN FACTION’S CANDIDATE FOR KINGS COUNTY GOP CHAIRMAN ---  AND WHY DOES IT LOOK LIKE THE NEW YORK SENATE REPUBLICAN CAMPAIGN COMMITTEE PAID FOR IT OUT OF ITS HOUSEKEEPING ACCOUNT

IS THIS EXPENDITURE OK ???  AND DOES EVERYBODY IN ALBANY AGREE THAT IT’S THE RIGHT THING TO DO

 A few days ago I got an interesting letter in the good old U.S. mail, along with a highlighted copy of a NYS Board of Election Financial  Disclosure Report – Schedule “G” for NYS SENATE REPUBLICAN CAMPAIGN COMMITTEE – HOUSEKEEPING.  I found it all very interesting, so I did a few quick, but necessary edits on the letter part and I am putting out there for all of you to see for yourselves. As for the Schedule “G,” you can check it out on-line at the NYS Board of Elections site for such reports --- the NYS SENATE REPUBLICAN CAMPAIGN COMMITTEE filer ID number is -- A12683 2016.

The letter is as follows:

“Recently, State Senator Marty Golden has been embroiled in a court battle to take over and control the Brooklyn Republican Party.  The attorney representing and making appearances for the “Golden faction” is John Ciampoli, Esq., who is retained by and/or is an employee of the New York State Senate Republican Campaign Committee.

There is no record with the New York State Board of Elections of any direct payments made to John Ciampoli for his legal services, either from Senator Golden’s campaign account or from his selected candidate for “Chairman,” Theodore Ghorra, Esq.  ---   However,  there are a large number of payments [to Ciampoli] from the State Senate Republican Committee Housekeeping Account --  Schedule “G”

From August 2015 through June 2016, John CIampoli received over $25,000 from this committee. Some money was via wire transfer, with one that corresponds “almost to the day” with the day that the lawsuit was filed, and there are many payments dates that correspond with John Ciampoli’s appearances [for Golden & Ghorra], along with some that match-up with filing dates of papers in the case. 

THE QUESTIONS THIS RAISES

My anonymous source then went on to ask some pointed questions, such as:

Was the New York State Senate Republican Campaign Committee funding Stae Senator Marty Golden’s court case and his attempt to take over the Kings County Republican Party.

Are the donors to the aforesaid committee aware that there is a likelihood that some of the money thqt they donated to that committee is not going to help retain control of the New York State Senate by the current GOP majority; but instead, it is going to finance the ego of one Republican State Senator, engaging in his failed bi-annual attempts to wrest control of his local GOP from its traditional and long-established leadership.

Is there any another rational explanation for the New York State Senate Republican Campaign Committee Schedule “G” payments to John Ciampoli, Esq., and the way they relate to the filing dates, scheduled court dates and other appearances [in the Golden-Ghorra case] by the same John Ciampoli, Esq.”

--- MAYBE, YOU MIGHT HAVE SOME QUESTIONS YOU’D LIKE TO ASK ABOUT ALL OF THIS YOURSELF --- BECAUSE THIS SURE LOOKS VERY QUESTIONABLE TO ME.

FLASH UPDATE: THE “DER NYSS FUHRER GOLDEN HAS SPOKEN --- EVERYBODY OFF OF HIS STREET” EDITION

WHAT MARTY GOLDEN ACTUALLY SAID WAS  ---  “I’M GOING TO ASK YOU TO LEAVE, THIS IS A PRIVATE MEETING. YOU ARE NOT ALLOWED TO BE HERE....”

THE ONLY PROBLEM IS THAT STATE SENATOR MARTY GOLDEN WAS ON A SIDEWALK NEAR KINGS PLAZA WHEN HE SAID IT

According to a report by Courier Life’s Julianne Cuba in the Brooklyn Daily section  ---   “A local pol held a ‘private’ meeting on a public street on Aug. 19 — turning away constituents, the press, and neglecting to invite other area representatives….  State Sen. Martin Golden (R–Marine Park) assembled about 10 city reps on the corner of Flatbush Avenue and Avenue U after a hit-and-run driver killed a man there last week, but when a neighbor came to observe, Golden told her to take a hike — a move unfitting for a public servant….” (See “Public street, private meeting: Pol waives off locals, press during meeting on city sidewalk” by Julianne Cuba, 8/22/16, Courier Life/ Brooklyn Daily  [http://www.brooklyndaily.com/stories/2016/35/mm-private-meeting-public-street-2016-08-26-bk.html]).

It wasn’t just neighbors and other mere members for the local citizenry that were barred from the meeting.  Golden also waived away a Brooklyn Life reporter from Courier Life with this:  “I’m going to ask you to leave, this is a private meeting. You’re not allowed to be here….”  He said that while he stood on the sidewalk outside of Kings Plaza.

The rump meeting apparently had been put together by Golden or somebody on his staff;  and it included representatives from the 63rd Precinct, Department of Transportation, Mayor’s Office, and the Taxi and Limousine Commission, as well as freshman Assemblywoman Jaime Williams (D–Marine Park). 

However,  according to Julianne Cuba’s reporting  ---   “…   [T]he senator did not    invite other local leaders, according to Councilman Alan Maisel (D–Marine Park)...."  Also Ms. Cuba noted that a source in Assemblywoman Williams’ office told the Courier Life reporter  that Assemblywoman  Williams asked to come to Golden's meeting only after the Department of Transportation called her about the meeting.

DID STATE SENATOR GOLDEN VIOLATE THE LAW [AGAIN] IN CALLING A RUMP MEETING ---  AND EXCLUDING OTHERS WHO SHOULD HAVE BEEN THERE

Some legal eagles think that the State Senator might have violated the Open Meetings Law by gathering public officials, ostensibly to conduct public business without announcing the meeting and making it open to the public. In addition, there would necessarily be required record keeping.

Let's start in the middle ---  "....  Long, in an extensive interview with Gay City News, said that [City Councilman Daniel] Dromm 'doesn’t know what happened here — all the work and care the teachers and principal gave to little Danny. We were aware Danny was a troubled kid. I’m not blaming him. We took him back. Thought we could help him. He was a good boy, but he really had lots of issues. Guidance counselors made recommendations that he get professional help and the family wouldn’t follow them. I’m not blaming them. Principal spoke to me. I’m not saying some kids didn’t make a face at him or there weren’t incidents. He was searching for someone to like him. He would latch on to someone and then they might push him away. He was failing badly and the principal called me in and said, ‘I’m going to call his father in and recommend he go to another school.’ The father agreed. He wasn’t coming back. Even his note he says he was happy he was leaving.'...  Long said the school 'has a whole anti-bullying program. We brought in the precinct. The teacher’s handbook includes it.'...   As for his opposition to the state’s anti-bullying law, Long said, 'I have opposed legislation that I believe sets up separate categories of people. We don’t need special legislation for skinny people or fat people. Bullying happens in every school. These teachers and this principal reacted to every incident with Danny or every other kid. The principal does intervene. She is caring. She knows every kid by first name.'..." There is much more in the "Gay City News" article by Andy Humm --- which goes over Mike Long's long and virulent campaign against all sorts of victims' rights -- most notably gays -- even mentioning a long ago dust-up with a much younger Councilman Long over the NYC Gay Rights Bill.

MIKE LONG'S VIEWS ON TOLERANCE ARE WAY OUT-OF-STEP ---  HE MUST RESIGN

Mike Long is way out of step with contemporary views of tolerance, both in American society and even within the Catholic Church. Even though Mike Long looks like he is one of DiMarzio's guys, the Bishop of Brooklyn needs to PUSH Mike Long for a quick resignation from Queen of Angels Academy.

Andy Humm's article shows that libertarians and young conservatives active in the NYS Conservative Party need to push for the ouster of Long  ASAP.  This Neanderthal character has long overstayed his "once upon a time days" on the NYS political scene.

A while back, the Fiorello LaGuardia Republican Organization asked this provocative question: “WHAT EXACTLY IS MARTY GOLDEN TRYING TO ‘PULL’?”

“Apparently, lack of conviction for the betterment and growth of the Brooklyn GOP has become a familiar modus operandi for [the (sarcastic comment) Marty Golden]. He has become the role model for taking advantage of a situation, like many dysfunctional Albany politicians….”

Lately, things seem much the same here in Brooklyn with Golden seemingly tepid about Trump

In April, the web page of the Fiorello La Republican Organization’s website contained an article noting an apparent vagueness or even a contradiction in Republican State Senator Marty Golden’s endorsement-of-a-sort for the eventual GOP presidential nominee, Donald Trump.  Here’s what was said on behalf of one of Brooklyn’s strongest Republican dual assembly district  operations about Golden’s shenanigans, at the time: 

“In Julianne Cuba’s recent article, “Marty Golden says he’s pulling for Trump,” [http://www.brooklyndaily.com/stories/2016/16/pl-golden-trump-2016-04-15-bk.html] NYS Senator Marty Golden stated that he is ‘leaning Donald, so let’s see what happens, whoever the Republican party supports, that’s who I will support.’…  This attitude is certainly not an indication of leadership, but only an inclination towards his own interest and to make sure that he covers his bases while “waiting for things to happen,” during this very important and historic Presidential campaign…..  One would expect that the only person who is supposed to represent all Republicans in Brooklyn in the State Senate in Albany would lead the charge with so many divided Republican voters. Why isn’t he choosing the Republican candidate that he believes to be helpful to the Republican Party? Does he believe that none are beneficial to the Party? OR Is he waiting to see which Presidential candidate will be more beneficial to Marty Golden?  …  In our opinion, Marty Golden’s convenient lack of choice, by not choosing any of the three candidates for President who are battling for delegates in NY State and in Brooklyn, is another divisive tactic that clearly indicates insecurity and lack of conviction, especially for his Republican constituents. Apparently, lack of conviction for the betterment and growth of the Brooklyn GOP has become a familiar modus operandi for our esteemed State Senator. SINCE APRIL, A LITTLE OF THIS & THAT,  BUT LITTLE HAS CHANGED VIS A VIS MR. GOLDEN

Early in May, “State Senator Martin Golden [said that] having Donald Trump as the Republican nominee in the race for president will help the GOP not only maintain their majority in the State Senate come November, it may even help them gain a few more seats….”  On the other hand “….  The Senate Republican conference … [did not announce any] endorsement for a particular candidate, though Senate Majority Leader John Flanagan has said he will support whoever end[ed] up as the nominee….”  Nonetheless, Marty Golden remained verbally supportive of Trump:  “I think Donald Trump will bring a tremendous number of people to the polls, bring new people out to the polls and give us an opportunity….  Just in my area alone … he got 80 percent of the vote. However, a little later in May and after the NYS GOP Primary was won by Trump, one of the first very strange anti-Trump things began to happen among the Golden faction of the Brooklyn GOP.  Glenn Nocera, the 44^th AD District Leader, who is loyal to the Marty Golden faction in the on-going Brooklyn GOP leadership fight, was NOT selected as a delegate or even an alternate from the 44^th AD even though Nocera was a strong Trump supporter (See “Trumps Reps Lose Chance For More Loyal Brooklyn Delegates”  by  Kings County Politics, 5/20/16 [http://www.kingscountypolitics.com/trumps-reps-lobbied-loyalist-brooklyn-delegates/]).  Golden’s  guy  Ted Ghorra was quite dismissive of Nocera’s complaints, while Nocera noted that the LaGuardia folks were strongly supportive.

THE POST-CONVENTION HANG-OVER & QUAGLIONE'S EVAN MCMULLIN THING

After Golden went to the GOP convention, as a Trump alternate,  he humiliated himself, the New York State Delegation and the Brooklyn GOP with his hotel bar-room antics. And lately, since, Trumps August gaffs and serious slippage in the polls, it’s been tough to find Golden talking about Trump at all.

Brooklyn GOP fiasco --- Judge throws out most recent GOP County Convention results

I SHOULD HAVE MADE A FEW PHONE CALLS TO FIND OUT WHAT'S REALLY GOING ON ---  BUT, FRANKLY, CHARLOTTE [oops !!! -- "Scarlett"], I DON'T GIVE A DAMN !!!

The Kings County Politics blog put an  article out there that would have looked like it was something that Ted Ghorra or Jerry Kassar did, except that it also quoted Dr. Arnaldo Ferrarro ( See "Judge Orders Kings County GOP Leadership Convention Do Over (UPDATED)" by an unnamed source, 8/12/16, Kings County Politics/ GOP  [http://www.kingscountypolitics.com/judge-orders-kings-county-gop-leadership-convention/]).

While I strongly disagree with the holding of a new convention, I also think that it is too soon to evaluate and comment on such a decision, since some clarifications are needed about the procedures of such a convention...  [Yes, the more informed among my thousands of readers know that last bit was  plagiarized from Michelle Obama's 2008 speech to the Democratic National Convention --- N.B., any resemblance to any quote by Dr. Ferraro published in the  "Kings County Politics" blog is purely accidental.]

As far as what I might really think about any of this or what the Brooklyn GOP might become going forward if Marty's guy is at the helm....  er, how 'bout them Mets....

Obama Administration diplomatic activities in and around Syria were intended to re-form Al Qaeda in Iraq into ISIS [ISIL], while clandestine activities in Libya and other locations armed ISIS to fight Assad in Syria --- all of it with HRC going along, and/or helping out

According to Breitbart reporter Kenneth Timmerman ---  “Even the left-stream media is now acknowledging that Donald Trump ‘has a point’ when he blasts Hillary and Obama for creating ISIS….  Hillary Clinton is vulnerable. ISIS did gain strength during her time as Secretary of State,” said ABC News correspondent Martha Raddatz….  Conservative talk show host Hugh Hewitt tried to give Mr. Trump an out. “I know what you meant,” he suggested. ‘You meant that he [Obama] created the vacuum, he lost the peace.’…  ’No,’ Trump replied. ‘I meant, he’s the founder of ISIS. Then the Brietbart-Timmerman piece went on to state unequivocally that   --- “TRUMP IS CORRECT ---  AND QUITE LITERALLY SO.”

In December 2012, thanks in large measure to the active lobbying of Mrs. Clinton and U.S. Ambassador to Syria Robert Ford, Obama declared that the United States considered the opposition as ‘the legitimate representative of the Syrian people.’…   What was secret until the release of [an] August 2012 defense intelligence report is that the United States knew that the Syrian opposition was dominated by al Qaeda in Iraq and the Islamic State of Iraq, groups that merged and morphed into what today we call ISIS….  So Donald Trump is literally correct. Obama and Hillary created ISIS. They figure among the founding fathers of the world’s most brutal terrorist organization. They deserve ISIS Most Valuable Player awards for their efforts….”

INTELLIGENCE REPORTS ABOUT ISIS UNCOVERED BY JUDICIAL WATCH

The information mentioned above is thanks to the efforts of Judicial Watch, which uncovered an August 2012 defense intelligence report on the civil war in Syria and the situation in Iraq. That report openly stated that the policy of the United States and its allies had been to support the Salafist opposition to Syrian president Bashar al-Assad.  At the time, such opposition was  spearheaded by Al Qaeda in Iraq (AQI) and the Islamic State of Iraq (ISI), soon those groups morphed into the Islamic State of Iraq and al-Sham, ISIS  [This report appears to have originated from U.S. Central Command (CENTCOM) in Iraq, but well before the intelligence product from that command had become tarnished by political interference from top commanders in 2014 aimed at minimizing the threat from ISIS].

According to Breitbart’s Kenneth Timmerman ---  “….  Other documents obtained by Judicial Watch show that the United States was also complicit with arms shipments from Benghazi to the jihadi rebel groups in Syria….   These particular shipments were distinct from the more publicized case of al Entisar, a Libyan fishing vessel that arrived in Iskanderiyah, Turkey, crammed with weapons in late August 2012….  The shipments described in this recently declassified document were sent directly to small Syrian ports under rebel control and included RPG grenade-launchers, sniper rifles, and ammunition for 125mm and 155mm howitzers….   As I [Timmerman] revealed two years ago, the U.S. backed arms shipments to ISIS and its allies in Syria appear to have been run out of the White House by then-counterterrorism advisor (and current CIA director) John Brennan. Running the clandestine arms shipments outside official channels allowed Obama and his allies – including Mrs. Clinton, who supported the arms shipments – to withhold that information from Congress….”

CONCLUSION

The Breitbart-Timmerman article concludes with this:  “….   Obama’s disastrous withdrawal of U.S. combat forces from Iraq in December 2011 clearly enhanced the ability of AQI and ISI to seize control of large portions of Iraqi territory and certainly contributed to the birth of ISIS. It also opened the door for Iran to fill the vacuum….  But as the August 2012 defense intelligence report states, that was the plan all along. Obama and Hillary wanted to create an ISIS-controlled enclave in Syria, ‘in order to isolate the Syrian regime, which is considered the strategic depth of the Shia expansion (Iraq and Iran).’…   [All of which shows that] Donald Trump was right. Again.”

Some people seem to think - and have actually said - that Donald Trump’s line >>> “If she gets to pick her judges, nothing you can do, folks….. Although the Second Amendment people — maybe there is, I don’t know.” <<< was a bad thing. They’re just wrong

Trump had/has it right ---  Properly motivated supporters of the Second Amendment can change everything and stop the anti-gun crowd in their tracks….. even if Hillary were to get elected president and name all the judges ---  but it would be much better to head all that off by electing Trump 

Let’s face reality – if Hillary Clinton wins the election, she will get to nominate the next group of Supreme Court Justices and she will have control over all of the rest of the Federal Judges to be appointed during her term.  At that point, there will be virtually nothing that you can do to stop her.

Of course, strong supporters of the Second Amendment --- those “Second Amendment People” Trump talked about a few days ago, might find the will and the wherewithal to wield the significant power that they have in new and dynamic ways. 

So, maybe Trump had it exactly right when he said this precisely the way that he did  ---   “If she gets to pick her judges, nothing you can do, folks…..   Although the Second Amendment people — maybe there is, I don’t know.”

BTW, anybody that sees any suggestion of violence there is completely without any real ability to read and comprehend either spoken or written English.  And those that see even a scintilla of the notion that an elected “President Hillary Clinton”  be assassinated by Second Amendment supporters, or anybody else for that matter, are completely delusional and divorced from reality. What’s more, pushing that line of attack against Donald Trump was not just despicable, it will prove-out to have been a stupid strategy.

Now, to be specific, I am referring to all the Trump haters out there that jumped on Trump’s statement above like they were a pack of buzzards and Trump’s statement a particularly delectable piece of roadkill.  Starting at the top, that would be Hillary Rodham Clinton, the Big-Bird-Buzzard,  who chimed in with her own public temperamental rant about Trump’s fomenting “VIOLENCE”….   The rest would be a list far too difficult for me to compile --- since it extends to both deceitful Democrat supporters of HRC and craven Republican anti-Trumpers,  all kinds of media types, and sadly, even includes some weak and backsliding Trump supporters.

So, what to do; what to do ???

The answer is simple ---  get behind Donald Trump now ---  and not have to deal with all the problems of a "President" Hillary, and all her appointed anti-Second Amendment  Supreme Court Justices and other Federal Judges, later.

The mainstream media is finally taking head of a Washington DC murder that took place a month ago. According to a report in the NY Post  ---   “WikiLeaks editor Julian Assange suggested that the Democratic National Committee staffer shot dead last month in Washington, DC, was killed because he was a ‘source.’…   ‘Whistleblowers go to significant efforts to get us material and often very significant risks. As a 27-year-old, works for the DNC, was shot in the back, murdered just a few weeks ago for unknown reasons as he was walking down the street in Washington,' he told Dutch TV, referring to Seth Rich, who was gunned down in the early morning hours of July 10 while walking to his apartment in Bloomingdale….   The interviewer followed up by asking, 'That was just a robbery, I believe. Wasn’t it?'…   The WikiLeaks founder cryptically replied, 'No, there’s no finding … I’m suggesting that our sources take risks.'…   WikiLeaks recently released a trove of stolen emails from top-level staffers at the Democratic National Committee. The News article took particular care to mention that “….  Assange is the only public figure to claim there is a link between the [DNC e-mails] leak and Rich’s death….” 

DAILY MAIL COVERAGE OF SETH RICH’S MURDER MENTIONS BILL & HILLARY CLINTON

After that opening, the article switched to the Rich family response, similar to what appeared in the NY Daily News.  However, in another reversal the Daily Mail article did an extensive backgrounder on all the bodies new and old that have been laid at the Clintons’ door(s) over the years.

WHAT I AM TALKING ABOUT IS DIS-INFORMATIVE MSM COVERAGE LIKE THIS:   “TRUMP APPEARS TO ENCOURAGE GUN OWNERS TO TAKE ACTION IF CLINTON APPOINTS ANT-GUN JUDGES”  --  WA-PO

OR THIS:  "DONALD TRUMP SUGGESTS 'SECOND AMENDMENT PEOPLE' COULD ACT AGAINST HILLARY CLINTON"  --  NY TIMES

Here’s how the Washington Post covered  Donald Trump’s speech, which was delivered earlier today:   “Republican presidential nominee Donald Trump, speaking at a rally in Wilmington, N.C., on Tuesday, appeared to encourage gun owners to take action if Hillary Clinton is elected president and appoints judges who oppose gun rights….   The mogul said that Clinton ‘wants to abolish, to essentially abolish the Second Amendment,’ a charge she has flatly denied. But, just in case you might have missed the point,  HERE IS THE WA-PO’S REAL KICKER:  “….  It was not clear whether Trump was inciting gun owners to use their weapons against judges or a sitting president — or was encouraging some other action….”

ARE THE WASHINGTON POST ---  AND A WHOLE BANK OF MEMBERS OF THE MAINSTREAM MEDIA ---  BEING FAIR WITH THIS KIND OF COVERAGE ??? 

Given the headline mentioned above, is it fair commentary to specifically suggest the most negative interpretation of a vague or even ambiguous statement that might or might not be making an outrageous suggestion, while giving as an alternative only this: “… or was [Trump] encouraging some other action….”  

TRY THIS ON FOR REAL OVERROUGHT & INFLAMMATORY RHETORIC ---  BTW,  IT’S FROM THE HILLARY CLINTON SIDE

Further into the Wa-Po coverage cited & quoted above was this bit of bomb-throwing:  ".... Clinton's campaign was also swift to respond to Trump's comments….   ‘This is simple — what Trump is saying is dangerous,’ Clinton campaign manager Robby Mook said in a statement. ‘A person seeking to be the President of the United States should not suggest violence in any way.’…   Sen. Chris Murphy (D-Conn.), a Clinton supporter and staunch gun-control advocate, said on Twitter: ‘Don't treat this as a political misstep. It's an assassination threat, seriously upping the possibility of a national tragedy & crisis.’…"

NY TIMES STUMBLES ONTO THE TRUTH  ---  "OBLIQUE AS IT WAS...  REMARK ELICITED A WAVE OF CONDEMNATION..."  [This section was added to my original post at 2:00 AM, 8/10/16]

Perhaps the real measure of  this tempest in a teapot appeared briefly in the NY Times article on Trump's remark, where Maggie Haberman & Nick Corasaniti wrote,  “….  Oblique as it was, Mr. Trump’s remark quickly elicited a wave of condemnation from Democrats, gun control advocates and others, who accused him of suggesting violence against Mrs. Clinton or liberal jurists….”  However, don’t look for any honesty or objectivity in their article overall, which largely tracked what appeared in the Washington Post piece above (See “Donald Trump Suggests ‘Second Amendment People’ Could Act Against Hillary Clinton” by Nick Nick Corasaniti & Maggie Haberman, 8/9/16, NY Times/ Election 2016  [http://www.nytimes.com/2016/08/10/us/politics/donald-trump-hillary-clinton.html?_r=0]).
