Vito Bruno needs to address why so many people around him and/or his campaign appear to be virulent anti-semites

Whiney Ratso Vito Bruno has a significant personal "Jewish Problem" ---  maybe he needs to consult with his former top campaign aide Raymond Ranaletta, whose internet postings indicate his familiarity and comfort in dealing with a political history in Germany that was notorious in dealing with its "Jewish Problem"

Bruno's most immediate PROBLEM arose when his "estranged" wife piled her own internet postings on top of the bile that was bilged by Ranaletta  ---  According to the NY Daily News,  "....  Since the outbreak of coronavirus,  [Vito Bruno's] spouse, Patricia Bruno, has spread stereotypes, recounted a confrontation she initiated with Orthodox children and shared a petition calling for an investigation into “welfare fraud” by Hasidic Jews...."

To date, the response  >>> to these indicia of virulent anti-Semitism so close to a candidate for public office <<<  from Vito Bruno and the Bruno Campaign for the New York State Senate has been COMPLETELY INADEQUATE

A few days ago the Daily News did a major hit piece on the Republican-Conservative candidate for the New York State Senate against Democrat incumbent Andrew Gounardes  (See "Estranged wife of Brooklyn state Senate candidate Vito Bruno attacks Orthodox Jewish people on Facebook" by Shant Shahrigian,  10/25/2020,  NY Daily News/ Mew York Politics/ Politics/ News  [https://www.nydailynews.com/news/politics/new-york-elections-government/ny-vito-bruno-brooklyn-patricia-bruno-20201025-lqcbrot2h5gohcltsxt55jlht4-story.html]).

In the Daily News coverage, there was no quote or personal response of any kind from the candidate himself, Vito Bruno.  Instead, the Vito Bruno campaign made this statement on behalf of the candidate  >>>  "Vito Bruno repeatedly and unequivocally has stated that anti-Semitism is unacceptable in our society.... He has been separated from his wife for ten years, and clearly there’s a reason. He does not accept these views.”  Oddly, that statement seems quite snarky and personally directed at Vito Bruno's wife Patricia for something coming out of a "campaign" by a campaign spokesperson  ---  especially in light of the fact that Patricia Bruno has contributed to Vito Bruno's political activities.

Since the problem came up, Vito Bruno has made an additional well-tailored formalistic statement that was reported in the "Brooklyn Paper."  See for yourself  >>>  "I ask voters to judge me on myself and my character; I have stood side by side with civil rights groups for decades....  I strongly condemn anti-Semitism, any racism and bigotry in any form no matter where it comes from. The Gounardes campaign has focused on trying to smear me because they don’t want to talk about the real issues in this race.”  This is neither a heartfelt nor a detailed explanation of the anti-Semitism swirling around Vito Bruno  >>>  it is a minimalist and barebones political statement, and it's linked to a typical Whiney Vito Bruno personal swipe at his opponent.....

We here at "The Brooklyn & Staten Island Independent GOP Fountainhead" have done a search and can find nothing more from Vito Bruno or his campaign about the anti-Semitism that apparently has permeated his life and his politics.  Just like his personal history of unlawful and even illegal operations of a variety of businesses over the years, Vito Bruno and his campaign has whitewashed any history of anti-Semitism by well-crafted psuedo-denials and evasions.  This just isn't good enough for a campaign so dependent on positive support from the Jewish communities in Bruno's district  ---  especially since Bruno's wife specifically attacked the members of those communities.

Real evidence is beginning to pile up against both Hunter Biden and Democratic Candidate for President Joe Biden

Tony Bobulinski, Hunter Biden’s former business partner, told Tucker Carlson of Fox News on Tuesday that “Joe Biden and the Biden family are compromised [with respect to National Security matters]”

Bobulinski also specifically remembered that Joe Biden’s brother, Jim Biden, has said “plausible deniability” would shield the Biden family from scrutiny concerning  their questionable Chinese business dealings

According to Tony Bobulinski,  the Bidens "... knew exactly what they were doing...." and that "... [t]hey were putting their entire family legacy on the line...."

According to Mr. Bobulinski, presidential candidate Joe Biden twice met Bobulinski specifically to talk about foreign business activities involving Bobulinski, Hunter Biden and other business associates, including Joe Biden's brother James Biden

In addition....

Federal court documents indicate that a federal court authorized a foreign surveillance warrant against one of Hunter Biden’s Chinese business partners 

   
The FISA warrant against the Biden associate, Patrick Ho, indicated that federal investigators believed Ho was working covertly as an agent of a foreign government 

Ho was an executive at CEFC China Energy, the firm that paid Hunter Biden at least $5 million as part of an investment deal

 
Interestingly, Biden would later represent Ho during the subsequent federal criminal case  ---  in due course,  Ho was found guilty and sentenced to three years in prison (only one of several of Hunter Biden's business associates to be indicted and convicted)

These matters were reported upon in the Conservative media website of the "Daily Caller".....

 

How can anybody vote FOR a candidate for president that sometimes thinks he is running against George Bush for the Senate ?????

In his Allentown speech this morning, President Trump prominently mentioned that Joe Biden had called him "George" in front of the nation  ---  And then Trump said that the only place where Joe Biden is 50%  is up here  >>>  pointing to his head  <<<  "You know what I mean...."  ---  "He couldn't remember my name  ---  I'm the candidate he's running against....  the President running for re-election....  he can't remember my name !!!"

And mentioning Kamala Harris  ---  President Trump observed,  "Laughing, laughing, even when they asked her important questions  ---  I think there's something the matter there too...."

Daily News slams Vito Bruno's campaign for Alt-right Anti-semitic extremist supporter

 

Here's what the NY Daily News had to say: 
"A campaign volunteer for Brooklyn state Senate wannabe Vito Bruno has quoted Hitler and Mussolini and posted numerous anti-Semitic messages on his Twitter account....  'Hitler was right then, and it applies today. As he said in his book he didn’t hate the Jewish religion, he hated communism,'  Raymond Ranaletta wrote Tuesday, including a picture of the infamously anti-Semitic dictator and a swastika in the tweet...."

Vito Bruno's campaign response was reported as this:  

"....  Bruno’s spokesman Nick Chambles said Ranaletta 'volunteered a few times,' adding he hadn’t seen him in 'weeks.' The campaign appeared to unfollow Ranaletta on Twitter after it was contacted by the Daily News...."  

We get it, what Nick had to say made this into a shambles;  however, Nick's name is Chamberas not "Chambles"  ---  or is it "Chambers," as in rooms or compartments.....

Vito Bruno was also given an opportunity to speak for himself, and he said that:  “Anti-Semitism has no place in our society and I unequivocally condemn these tweets. This individual is not on my campaign payroll and does not represent my views. Period....” 

Meanwhile,  a spokesperson for Gounardes said in a statement:  “We’re shocked and disgusted, though sadly not surprised, that this is the kind of person Vito Bruno surrounds himself with and the kind of judgment he exhibits....” 

The Daily News article by  Shant Shahrigian also noted that  >>>  "Bruno is running as a Republican against state Sen. Andrew Gounardes, a Democrat, in the November election to rep a swath of South Brooklyn including Bay Ridge and Bensonhurst. Bay Ridge saw tense exchanges between “Blue Lives Matter” activists and counter-protesters over the summer...."; 

and that  >>>  "....  Ranaletta proudly showed his connection to Bruno — a former nightclub owner whose past includes since-denied claims of paying off cops and supplying celebrities with drugs  —  by tweeting pictures of himself campaigning, with one image that appears to show Ranaletta alongside the candidate...."

THE WALL STREET JOURNAL TELLS JOE BIDEN --- to tell everybody about Hunter Biden's pattern of influence peddling and to fess up about his own financial dealings

Late Tuesday, the "Wall Street Journal" said that former Vice President Joe Biden needed to answer questions about his son Hunter Biden’s “influence-peddling” and “his own financial dealings — notably regarding China....”  ---  and it particularly asked Joe Biden to answer whether he was "the big guy" referred to in Hunter Biden's E-mails.....

The "Wall Street Journal" editorial noted recent stories appearing in the "New York Post" that showed that Hunter Biden had been exploring a lucrative business deal in 2017 with the CEFC China Energy Co. in which somebody referred to as “the big guy” — allegedly Joe Biden himself — would be receiving a 10% share of the take

Here is a substantial portion of what the "Wall Street Journal" editorial board had to say:

"Most of the media is ignoring the emails found in Hunter Biden’s laptop, but that doesn’t mean they aren’t news. Joe Biden has an obligation to answer questions about his son’s influence-peddling and his own financial dealings—notably regarding China....  The emails regarding Hunter’s business in Ukraine have been widely reported. But as intriguing is a May 2017 email thread that includes a discussion about 'remuneration packages' for six people as part of a business deal with a now-defunct Chinese energy titan, CEFC China Energy. The Chinese company was international news a few years ago, after the U.S. government charged a CEFC-funded organization with money laundering, and its CEO was detained by Chinese authorities. CNN reported in 2018 that “at its height” CEFC was “hard to distinguish” from the Chinese government....  According to the emails, both Bidens were in line in 2017 to benefit from a deal with CEFC. One email appears to identify Hunter Biden as 'Chair/Vice Chair depending on agreement with CEFC.'   It also refers to financial payments in terms of '20' for 'H' and '10 held by H for the big guy....' ...  Joe Biden ought to clear the air on this China business in his own political interest...." 

And the "Wall Street Journal" specifically put this question to Joe Biden  ---  "Is he the 'big guy' in the email?"

Curtis Sliwa, a true self-promoting scumbag, comes to Vito Bruno, another self-promoting scumbag's defense

Sliwa's recent Op-Ed on the "Kings County Politics" site accuses the Gounardes Campaign of "...  Ridiculous...  Lies and Smears Against Vito Bruno"   ---   and here is all that Curtis Sliwa  actually complained about  >>>  "Recently I saw a mailer by [State Sen.] Andrew Gounardes attacking the candidate that I am supporting for State Senate in southwest Brooklyn, Vito Bruno....   It shows a chalk outline of a body and a picture of Vito Bruno on the other side with huge red letters screaming 'Guilty.' ”  That was the last specific reference to that mailer.....   

After that it was Sliwa's generalizing about implications that Vito Bruno was either a mobster or had mob affiliations, or talking about Vito Bruno's hiring gang bangers to handle security at some of his clubs  ---  with anecdotes that seemed more about others than Vito Bruno

What Sliwa didn't address were the very well-documented charges against Whiney Ratso Vito Bruno contained in several of Andrew Gounardes' campaign mailers over the last several weeks  ---   charges that tied Vito Bruno and Vito Bruno's varied business enterprises tightly to a pattern of unlawful and in countless instances criminal activities, involving violence, up to and including murder, trafficking in drugs, police corruption, and assorted anti-social activities constituting public nuisances that led state and local authorities to shut down many, if not most, of Vito Bruno's businesses and/or business activities involving others.....  

If you read Sliwa's op-ed in "KCP" you might think that Vito Bruno ran some kind of charities for wayward boys, not unlike Father Bruce Ritter.....  Well, that kind of stuff might have been going on too, but I'm sure that the Gounardes' campaign mailers didn't go into any of that about Vito Bruno  >>>  those details would have to come from Curtis Sliwa

While Joe Biden is taking his three day pre-debate "LID" on personal campaigning --- The Hunter Biden lap-top story continues to mushroom

 

The Director of National Intelligence (DNI) John Radcliff stated today  >>>  “Let me be clear: The intelligence community doesn’t believe... that Hunter Biden’s laptop and the emails on it are part of some Russian disinformation campaign... because there is no intelligence that supports that...  It’s simply not true...."

 

The DNI also noted that the Hunter Biden computer is “in the jurisdiction of the FBI....  The FBI has had possession of this....  Without commenting on any investigation that they may or may not have, their investigation is not centered around Russian disinformation and the intelligence community is not playing any role with respect to that....”

Radcliff specifically aimed his most pointed remarks at the House Intelligence Committee Chairman Adam Schiff, as follows: "... [I]t is funny that some of the people that complain the most about intelligence being politicized are the ones politicizing intelligence.... And unfortunately, in this case, it is Adam Schiff, the chairman of the House Intelligence Committee, who... said on Friday [that] the intelligence community believes that Hunter Biden’s laptop and the emails on it are part of some Russian disinformation campaign.... The intelligence community doesn’t believe that because there is no intelligence that supports that. We have shared no intelligence with Chairman Adam Schiff or any other member of Congress that Hunter Biden’s laptop is part of some Russian disinformation campaign....  It’s simply not true....  And this is exactly what I said would I stop when I became the Director of National Intelligence, and that’s people using the intelligence community to leverage some political narrative. And in this case, apparently, Chairman Schiff wants anything against his preferred political candidate to be deemed as ‘not real’... using the intelligence community or attempting to use the intelligence community to say there’s nothing to see here. Don’t drag the intelligence community into this. Hunter Biden’s laptop is not part of some Russian disinformation campaign. And I think it’s clear that the American people know that.”

Meanwhile, Joe Biden and his campaign continue to "stonewall" about the Hunter Biden E-mails that apparently directly connect presidential candidate Joe Biden to his son Hunter Biden's dirty financial dealings with businessmen in the Ukraine, Russia and China

Things seem to be blowing up around Joe Biden, and his immediate response is to take refuge in his Wilmington, Delaware bunker.

This comment and his recent performance at the Dyker Heights Civic Association Debate a few nights back clearly demonstrate that Bruno is absolutely clueless about the issues of crime and punishment, and how they relate to law enforcement and/or the level of crime on the streets of our communities.

And now for something completely different --- why in 2020 would this Brooklyn & Staten Island Republican blog be focusing on a 2021 Democrat Primary in Northwestern Queens ???

The 2021 Democrat Primary in Northwest Queens will include a race for a hotly contested seat, currently occupied by City Council Member Costa Constantinides  ---  that Council District covers Astoria and parts of East Elmhurst, Jackson Heights and Woodside;  it will be coming up for grabs in 2021, because Councilman Constantinides is term-limited.....

One of the leading contenders will be Tiffany Caban, an AOC-supported Democrat, who probably should have become the elected District Attorney for the whole County of Queens in 2019  >>>  but for the very corrupt count of the Democrat primary vote by the NYC Board of Elections in and for the County of Queens  >>>  followed by perhaps the dirtiest backroom deal in modern times during the aborted NY State Court review of that very corrupt count of the vote by the NYC Board of Elections in and for the County of Queens.....

There are many similarities between the Queens Council District that includes Astoria and parts of Woodside  >>>  and the Brooklyn Council District that includes Bay Ridge and Dyker Heights........... 

Maybe, that's the reason why NYC Councilman Justin Brannan has taken such a keen interest  in the Queens District,  even though he is likely to be facing his own Democratic Primary,  and possibly a difficult re-election fight from a Republican like John Quaglione, who easily won the Republican Primary in 2017,  and then narrowly losing to Brannan in the general election

I don't know how, or why, but an insider has told me that most likely Tiffany Caban was herself involved in the corrupt deal that resulted in Melinda Katz' becoming the Democrat nominee for Queens County D.A. instead of the actual 2019 winner of the Democrat Primary for Queens D.A., Tiffany Caban.  However, the insider suggested to me that Tiffany Caban obviously obtained immediate valuable consideration for tanking her NY State Supreme Court case against the BOE and Melinda Katz, as well as substantial future consideration.

Tiffany Caban has already been actively working on her 2021 campaign for City Council to succeed Councilman Costa Constantinides  ---  one has to wonder if the 2019 backroom deals for Queens D.A. included a deal for the Council seat in Northwest Queens going to Caban.  

Vito Bruno conceals and misrepresents his record as a night club and afterhours club manager, promoter and owner during his appearance at the Dyker Heights Civic Association Debate

Vito Bruno handled his terrible personal history as a night club/ afterhours club manager, promoter and owner by dismissing it all with the "lick and a promise" of a four (4) line,  sixty-five (65) word statement

At the earliest stages of the debate,  Vito Bruno was put into a box for his false statements concerning Bruno's allegations that Gounardes favored the defunding and disbanding of the NYPD  

Vito Bruno introduced a story about the removal of the disruptive mother at a children's forum without any attempt to provide detail or context 

All Vito Bruno had to say about Andrew Gounardes' well-documented charges of police corruption by Vito Bruno, which Vito Bruno had admitted in an article nearly contemporaneous to such police corruption  was  ---  "It's lies, [Gounardes'] campaign is full of lies....  That article was about investigations of other police payoffs [not the payoffs Vito admitted to]...."

Vito Bruno's closing remarks were focused on the millions of dollars worth of smears against him  ---  without mentioning what they were or that they were completely researched, documented  and verified

'Court Packing" has nothing to do with the Republican majority party in the U.S. Senate approving the nominees of a Republican President for filling vacancies to pre-existing vacancies, in due course  ---  but not if you happen to listen to Democrat Presidential nominee Joe Biden and the Democrat Senators leading the fight against Amy Coney Barrett's current nomination to the Supreme Court

In Brooklyn, Staten Island, and the rest of New York City,  Republicans have long known that Democrats are speaking in a different language  ---  not only do hardcore Democrats have dangerous, quirky and often illogical opinions and positions;  it has become quite clear that even the words that Democrats use to defend and advance their opinions and positions have arcane, abstruse, conspiratorial, and occult meanings.

What more needs to be said --- During the President's appearance on the Limbaugh program, Trump made this very pithy observation: "It’s a disgrace. It’s an embarrassment.... what I mean with the Republicans. They don’t play the tough game....”

A couple of days ago on that big virtual town hall broadcast with Rush Limbaugh, the President Trump called out the GOP as a bunch of wimps  >>>  that just don't "play the tough game" like the Democrats do most of the time

Although the quote seemed to specifically target U.S. Attorney General William Barr  ---  Trump's appointee and a well-known Republican  ---  the same is absolutely true about most Republicans active at the national, state and local level

Brooklyn Republicans, look in the mirror and ask yourself  ---  why am I, the Brooklyn GOP leadership and everybody active in the Brooklyn Republican Party such wimps  ---  just like Trump described them to Rush Limbaugh.  

It's long past the time for Republicans to start playing "the tough game" like the Democrats.

BIDEN'S BIGGEST GAFFE YET --- VOTERS DON'T HAVE A RIGHT TO KNOW IF HE INTENDS TO PACK THE COURT.....

A local TV newsman asked Joe Biden,  "I know you said yesterday you aren’t going to answer the question until after the election, but this is the number one thing that I’ve been asked about from viewers in the past couple of days....” 

Biden responded,  “Well, you’ve been asked by the viewers who are probably Republicans who don’t want me continuing to talk about what they are doing to the court right now....” 

Then,  when asked whether the voters “deserve” to know his answer...

Biden said, “No, they don’t....  I’m not going to play his game. He’d love me to talk about — and I’ve already said something on packing the court, court packing...   He’d love that to be the discussion instead of what he’s doing now. He’s about to make a pick in the middle of an election — first time it’s ever been done, first time in history it’s ever been done....”

Don't focus on Biden's misstatement about the history of presidential appointments to the Supreme Court during the pendency of a presidential election.  Instead, look at what Presidential Candidate Biden had to say about the voting public's right to know about what he planned to do about packing the Supreme Court in the event that he were to win the election.  

In short, Joe Biden said that voters don't have a right to know what he plans to do vis a vis packing the Supreme Court.

Vito Bruno and John Catsimatidis --- noises that those two were making back and forth a couple of weeks back should have been kept behind closed doors

Lest there be any doubt, I am talking about Whiney Ratso Vito Bruno's "appearance" on  "The Cats Roundtable with John Catsimatidis"  ---   Bruno's gig on the Cat's show was about five-and-a-half minutes on September 27, 2020.....

As a crypto-libertarian conservative, generally what consenting adults choose to do with or to each other is their own business  ---  but when they might do it on a "hot mike" over broadcast AM radio, and with a "rebroadcast" on a streaming podcast is something else entirely

I don't know whether so much of what was being said was obscured and inaudible because of the sound of kissing and kissed asses and other mutual "brown nosing," or the result of each of the participants' having some degree of a speech impediment

The most interesting stuff came from Catsimatidis,  who repeatedly said to Bruno,  "I don't want to know, I don't want to know...." whenever Bruno tried to say what he wanted to do as a New York State Senator.

Neither Catsimatidis nor Vito Bruno seem to understand anything about bail and bail reform.  It is simply unconstitutional to use "bail" to effectuate preventive detention. Both of them implied that keeping criminals in jail is the actual purpose of setting prohibitively high  and occasionally unattainable bail for certain defendants  ---  that is "preventive detention" and it is unlawful.   Also Ratso Vito Bruno mentioned the recent shootings in the district where he is running as somehow being related to "bail reform";  even though none of the bail reform measures had anything to do with those shooting incidents.....

Obviously one of the major areas that John Catsimatidis didn't want to know about was all of the well-reported criminal activities in Whiney Ratso Vito Bruno's past.....   

Also, Johnny Cats didn't ask Vito whether he was wearing a wire while they were on the air,  and whether Vito had worn a wire around any of his current business and political associates.

Trump is right about not backing down to the Commission on Presidential Debates

The CPD  (Commission on Presidential Debates)  announced Thursday morning that the next scheduled (townhall style) debate would be held remotely and virtually to "protect the health and safety of all involved" after Trump's positive COVID-19 diagnosis and the subsequent White House outbreak. 

President Trump told Fox Business cable news host Maria Bartiromo that "I'm not doing a virtual debate....  I'm not going to waste my time on a virtual debate...."  ---  adding that such an approach to the next debate was a "joke" and an obvious effort "to protect Biden." 

President Donald Trump said Thursday he would not take part in the next presidential debate with former Vice President Joe Biden after it was changed  to a virtual format because of alleged safety concerns based upon President Trump's COVID-19 infection.

CPD Co-chairman Frank Fahrenkopf said the commission would not host a debate with Biden alone if Trump doesn’t budge.  According to Commissioner Fahrenkopf,  “No, we wouldn’t have it....  You can’t do that under the federal election laws and FEC (Federal Election Commission) rules. You’ve got to balance. You couldn’t have one person going through the debate and the other one not. That wouldn’t be a debate under the law....”

If Whiney Ratso Vito Bruno really wants to be a New York State Senator, why isn't he working harder and doing more to get the job ???

Vito's statements on any of the issues that he raises are so flimsy and threadbare,  calling them out as superficial, trite and disconnected to the real lives of the people living in his district would give them more weight and distinction than they deserve

Right now, the best that Vito can do is show the, now quite boring, collage of pictures of Andrew Gounardes standing near Governor Andrew Cuomo and Mayor Bill de Blasio  ---  and those unrelated and out of any meaningful context photos are arbitrarily being used by Vito Bruno to loosely connect a proposed shutdown of schools to his opponent

Even worse,  is one of Vito Bruno's banner "law and order" issues  >>> his opposition to "bail reform" <<<   He trots out that old chestnut whenever there is an incident of crime in Bay Ridge or Dyker Heights;  however,  Vito has repeatedly failed to connect those criminal incidents to anybody benefitting from bail reform.....

Most recently,  Ratso Vito Bruno was whining about his classic fail in getting the whole Angel Guardian building complex designated a "landmark," instead of only the Angel Guardian Home itself, which was landmarked with the support of Vito Bruno's opponent.....

There is only one way to describe Whiney Ratso Vito Bruno as a Republican-Conservative candidate for the state senate.  As one of Mr. Bruno's earliest supporters would say it  ---  "He's pathetic, just pathetic !!!"

Governor Cuomo declares war on religion

Catholics remain supine, because everybody knows it really only applies to Orthodox Jews and a few others that actually might still openly practice their religions

Joe Biden is unfit to lead the USA as President --- He clearly has stated that it's NOT HE, but it's OTHERS who will lead this country

Biden says unequivocally that he will always do what the "experts" tell him.....

Just think about how many "experts" surround a President of the United States !!!!!   Nobody elected them;  most people don't even know who any of those "experts" are;  most of them are part of THE SWAMP that President Trump has pushed back against for the last three and a half years

Keep your eye on Biden  to see if he tries to walk this back.....

Cement head Republicans and Conservatives still not getting it about Vito Bruno --- bringing all of his 1970s & '80s after-hours values to his NY State Senate Campaign

His real life performance vis a vis the Angel Guardian re-development/ landmark fight graphically demonstrated that Whiney Ratso Vito Bruno was not there for the Dyker Heights community when it counted  ---  instead he was 200% into his "businessman" persona with a promotion of a show in the very  same neighborhood that glorified his personal history connected to the violence, sex, drugs & rock'n'roll after-hours scene of the '70s & '80s

Boston's Charlestown had their "businessman" Ratso Whitey Bulger  ---  AND  ---  Bay Ridge, Dyker Heights, Bath Beach, Bensonhurst, Gravesend, Gerrittsen Beach and Marine Park has their "businessman" Ratso Whiney Bruno  ---  both cut from the same very porous cloth;  just ask so many of their "business" associates that had long vacations upstate or at "Club Fed"

Even the Vito Bruno campaign strategy of relying on the very short memories and rather limited intelligence of the old line Republicans and Conservatives still in Brooklyn can't cover up his most recent epic fail with his supposed attempt to have the whole campus of Angel Guardian buildings declared a landmark....  The truth is he did next to nothing.

First off, if Vito Bruno, who claims to be an architect from Brooklyn's Pratt Institute, really cared about getting the whole Angel Guardian site declared a "landmark,"  he would have gotten that well-respected Brooklyn institution into the fray.  Vito Bruno never attempted to get his alma mater involved in the fight to save the all the Angel Guardian buildings  as landmarks, even though Pratt has a well-publicized institutional commitment to the preservation of architecturally significant landmarks in Brooklyn.

Furthermore, as recently as August 11, 2020  ---  Bruno was mum when the matter was up for public comment at a hearing in front of the Landmarks Preservation Commission,  while his opponent State Senator Gounardes formally went on the record with the LPC; and at that time, his spokesperson said to the media:  "Senator Gounardes [has] been a strong supporter of landmarking the Angel Guardian Home and has worked with the commission and local stakeholders to make it happen since his election in 2018. The designation of the landmark and the construction of a new school are both exciting developments in our communities that he’s happy to support....” 

It has been well-said on this blog in the prior featured post that it had been all made very clear by going back to Vito Bruno's 2017 campaign for Brooklyn Borough President .  In that year,  the news of the probable re-development of the Angel Guardian site had already been circulating at the north end of Dyker Heights around Regina Pacis.  At that time, Vito Bruno was running as the Republican-Conservative candidate for Borough President against Eric Adams.  In a 2017 article in the Brooklyn Paper said that the Brooklyn Borough President would be a key figure in determining the future use of the Angel Guardian site.....   If Vito Bruno were truly interested in that particular local issue  --- the future use and possibly obtaining landmark designation for the Angel Guardian site ---  he would have brought it up in and during that campaign for Brooklyn Borough President.  He didn't; and the reason for that was that Vito was too busy with his "business" of putting together elements of and promoting a particular local event at the old  "2001 Odyssey" dance club  ---   "The 40th Anniversary of 'Saturday Night Fever' ".    Interestingly, one of the honored guests at Vito's event was none other than Brooklyn Borough President Eric Adams.....

Somethings never change,  for many, many years Whiney Ratso Vito Bruno has done whatever he needed to do to advance his selfish "business" interests to the complete exclusion of all other interests and loyalties.....  Whiney Bruno followed a lot of the playbook of Whitey Bulger  ---  especially the part that said to throw your "business" associates under the bus whenever necessary.  So, it should be no surprise that Whiney Ratso Vito Bruno would use the same playbook in his "businessman's" approach to politics.

The Angel Guardian site nonsense shows that Whiny Ratso Vito Bruno doesn't understand conservatism or what the highest and best use of private property is all about

The whining rat local Republican-Conservative candidate for state senate wanted to impose a 100% big government solution on an archaic piece of urban blight that is not even in the 22nd State Senate District where he is running  ---  and when what Vito Bruno says that he wanted failed miserably, he shifted to blaming his opponent State Senator Andrew Gounardes for something that happened completely outside of Mr. Gounardes' district

Vito Bruno's opposition to the property owner's highest and best use of the land in question  >>>  pretty much the block bounded by 63rd & 64th Streets and 12th & 13th Avenues  <<<  is not only repulsive to any real and right-thinking libertarian and/or conservative, it is absolutely phony and hypocritical for Whiny Ratso Vito Bruno to pretend that he really wanted to oppose it at all  ---  and even more so, now that Mr. Rat's pathetic & puny opposition to any of it was summarily swept aside    

In 2017,  when Whiny Ratso Vito Bruno should have been weighing-in to save the Angel Guardian buildings and site,  and he was running for an office that really had a geographical and jurisdictional link to the preservation of the buildings on that site  >>>  Whiny Ratso was literally minding his own business interests very, very nearby  --- and nary a peep about the Angel Guardian stuff.....

Yesterday, on Vito Bruno's campaign Facebook Page, Ratso was still whining about his epic fail in defending the entirety of the so-called Angel Guardian Home site on the northern fringe of Dyker Heights not far from the underused and blighted industrial lots and plots for the squatter tenant farmers alongside the ancient railroad cut for the old Bay Ridge commercial rail line.  The even though the building that housed the Angel Guardian Home was saved, other buildings on the larger site are gone or will be very shortly;  and Whiny Ratso Vito thinks that he can blame Andrew Gounardes for that, and make it stick.  In fact, the truth is that the loss of the Angel Guardian Convent building is something that more rightfully belongs at the feet of Mr. Bruno himself than at Mr. Gounardes'.

National security,  government, electoral politics and financial markets all thrown into uncertainty

According to the Breitbart News report on this bombshell announcement,  "'The president said he and the First Lady will be going into their 'quarantine and recovery process immediately.' ...   The news of Trump’s positive test came hours after it was earlier confirmed that his close aide Hope Hicks had tested positive for the virus earlier on Thursday after exhibiting symptoms during Trump’s trip to Duluth, Minnesota, for a rally on Wednesday night....   Hicks had accompanied the president on that trip, and previously to the debate in Cleveland, Ohio, on Tuesday night. Here's what Whiny Ratso Vito Bruno had to say most recently  >>>  "...  State Senator Andrew Gounardes  is busy lying about my life...." --- but so far, Vito has been very mum about what those lies might be

Meanwhile, one of the posted comments on the Vito Bruno campaign Facebook page likened >>> Bruno's complaints about the details of his personal history being made public about him <<< to what Stalin did about the inconvenient details of that tyrant's personal history --- including having been an INFORMANT against others in the Russian Revolution

Vito Bruno obviously has no sense of importance or scale, his campaign page likened the closing of the restaurant "New Corner" in Dyker Heights (most recently called the Colandrea New Corner Italian Restaurant) to a stabbing attack not far away at Fort Hamilton Parkway near 92nd Street.

FYI, the New Corner restaurant closing was many, many years overdue --- their food was neither good nor reasonably priced --- they were milking a very long ago decent reputation in the community for all they could get out of it. Just like Vito Bruno, they were in it for the business and the bottom line --- and the public be damned.....
