If you plug "Brooklyn GOP" or "Brooklyn Republican Party" into you search engine, almost everything up front shows that Craig Eaton is still the man in charge; what does that say about the formal Republican county organization of Marty Golden's handpicked GOP County Chairman Ted Ghorra ?
Even if you look on social media, it is much the same --- with a smattering of stuff for Liam McCabe.....
Is there any evidence of an active presence by a viable political entity called the "Brooklyn Republican Party " or the "Brooklyn GOP" in 2019 going forward into 2020
This is a Republican Party that seems frozen in time at least five years ago if not longer.
Ted Ghorra can't do the job as GOP County Leader; and it looks like nobody else wants the job enough to make any effort at a takeover.
So should we be sad, mad or glad ???

This is all Golden's fault. Golden did not want young guns breathing down his neck so he didn't allow for a bench of young GOP talent to be built up. This was all by design and now because Golden lost without ever building a stable of young talent, we are left with Liam and John Q. Bottom of the barrel, bottom feeders, damaged goods, two and three time losers with loads of baggage and negatives. Did I mention this is all Golden's fault? Our hero left us for dead. When Golden lost to Andy G, that was the death of the Brooklyn GOP

JOHN Q AND WILL-LIAM HAVE TO BURY THE HATCHET, GET TOGETHER, BE A POLITICAL TEAM FOR THE AGES, AND SHOW THE WORLD WHO THEY REALLY ARE AND WHAT THEY CAN DO TOGETHER --- THEY HAVE ALL THE INGREDIENTS WHAT THEY NEED IS PROPER MOTIVATION
Everybody needs to relax, take a deep breath, look at what we have here and recognize the combined traits, skills and talents presented by this dynamic duo, John Quaglione and Liam McCabe.
Instead of playing them off one against the other, repeating the history of the 2017 fiasco that ultimately led to JQ's sort of narrow loss to JB, somebody creative and dynamic, needs to step up and show what a natural political leader can do; bring these two sullen and recalcitrant also-rans together in order to pool their obvious political energy and whatever other, not yet manifest assets they might be saving for a rainy day.
First, that political leader is here, rested and ready to go; he has obviously been on a long break, possibly a rejuvenating sabbatical at one of the great spas or resorts, one that even Craig Eaton would envy. That leader is none other than our current Kings County Republican Chairman, Ted Ghorra, looking so good that his hair almost looks natural; and he is in a position to bring together the two old and shopworn antagonists to make them into a magnificent Republican tag team.
Second, the dynamic duo needs to be so close in thought, manner, speech and overall presentation that they almost would be physically indistinguishable, even more so than let's say "The Blues Brothers." They would need to project a virtual signal and single persona that Brooklyn Republicans, not only would be willing to work for, but would learn to love and embrace.
If one were to take everything that Quags and Liam have shown us that they are all about and capable of doing over the last few years, roll them into a single Golem-like creature, and smooth out the rough edges, you would have one heck of a Republican candidate for Assembly, City Council, State Senate, Congress, and then maybe even something city- or state-wide.
If you take the combined traits, skills and talents of Quaglione and McCabe, their combined life experiences, along with their morphed physical appearances, someone reminiscent of a very recognizable and even beloved character emerges. Everybody should remember MATT FOLEY, he was a motivational speaker, who lived in a van down by the river; so sadly, he was taken from us much too soon many years ago.
If Ghorra can bring Quaglione and McCabe together, weld them and meld them, we could have our own pair of Matt Foleys back to motivate the Brooklyn GOP and possibly even revive Republicanism all around New York.
Q has no clue that Liam is running Nicoles Brooklyn operation.

I like the idea of taking the good parts of Q and the good parts of Liam and turning them into a Frankenstein candidate. I think that's the best chance we will have at loosing another local seat. I do think Q will be more well-rested though and ready for battle because he won't spend the night on his mother-in-law's futon.

Q was up early this morning sharing a hard-hitting petition calling for more cops at the 68 Precinct House. Q is more active than Liam. Why did they pick Liam to run against Andrew? Sounds like a shady backroom deal was made and it probably involved Nicole and Gerry. I say Q should run! He is tan, rested and ready because he sleeps on an actual bed at night and not his mother-in-law's futon. Liam has too much baggage. Q could bring glory back to the 22nd Senatorial District in the State of New York as long as he keeps Laura Sergio away from the campaign office backyard.
Also with Q you dont have to worry about him taking a month or two hiatus during the campaign to go to rehab as Liam has done at least 3x over the past 2 years..

Many active local Republicans, including Republican office holders, would rather see Max Rose win re-election than see Nicole get elected in 2020. It is the same epi-phenomenon re-occurring that led to the defeats of Marty Golden and Dan Donovan, and the elections of Democrats Max Rose and Andy Gounardes in the first place.
Here's my prediction: in 2020 the Giants and Jets will do better than Nicole, but Nicole will do better than the Knicks do in either season with games being played in 2020.

Liam and Quags, Quags and Liam, with all the negative stuff each has on the other, any Republican primary rematch of these two will quickly turn into the mutual assured destruction of one and then the other.
Quags has lost the most political clout since 2017, he has the most to lose in 2020 and 2021, and he will lose the most if he tangles with Liam again. Sooner or later, Quags will realize that he's finished and will give up the ghost.
The only thing left to see is who wants it more.

I blame Marty for leaving us with no bench of fresh talent. We have no bumper crop. We're left with damaged goods like Liam and Q. The future looks very bleak.
Ghorra is probably going to surrender and let Liam run against Andy G. Liam has been begging them to give him a chance. Liam will get trounced by Andy and we will never have that seat again once the lines get redrawn for reapportionment. 2020 might be the last chance we have. We need a strong viable electable candidate against Andy G. Ted Ghorra should be holding open interviews and trying to find a candidate that can raise money and will work hard without the baggage that Liam has. 2020 might be the last chance we have locally for a very long time

With more solid Republican seats upstate being abandoned by GOP incumbents, who in their right mind is going to give Liam or Q money to retake Marty's seat.

Sign me up for a big donation and lots of volunteer work, and I know about six or seven others who will do the same.
The problem is no one is grooming new talent. We have some tired retreads who are retreads for a reason. Liam and John Q are only District Leaders because they were handed those seats as consolation pries. They didn't have to actually run to win them! We need to get rid of Ted Ghorra and build the Party back from the ground up and that all starts with a man named Michael Tanoussis.
