Early breezes show that an environmental front is moving in and a big storm might be brewing for Hillary on the left  —   but so far without any mention among most liberal and mainstream media outlets

—  Where is the left-leaning mainstream media on the issue of Hillary Clinton’s support of new and unnatural food production, especially the use of genetically modified organisms (GMOs) up and down the food chain ?   —  Especially given Hillary Clinton’s openly expressed affiliation with the Monsanto Corporation

—  What happens when the top Democratic Party candidate for president acquiesces in a techno-war against the environment; or when she pushes for a world fed increasingly by biologically modified food ?

NY TIMES REPORT ON DEMONSTRATIONS AGAINST MONSANTO IN HAWAII

It was subtle and it was small, and it didn’t mention Hillary Clinton very much at all, but the  New York Times made a very calculated cut into Hillary’s rhinoceros hide yesterday.  An article being spread by the Times reported that, in Hawaii, protesters on Saturday complained about the effects that companies like Monsanto have on various Hawaiian communities when they spray fields with chemical pesticides and sew fields with genetically modified crop seeds. HILLARY CLINTON HIRES ONE OF MONSANTO’S MAIN LOBBYING OPERATORS TO RUN ONE OF HER PACS

Meanwhile, “...  Hillary Clinton recently announced that she will be appointing long-time Monsanto lobbyist Jerry Crawford as adviser to her ‘Ready for Hillary’ super PAC....  Crawford has mostly worked with Democratic politicians in the past, but has also put his support behind Republican candidates as well. Anyone who was willing to support Monsanto’s goals would receive support from Crawford....  In the past, Crawford has worked with Bill Clinton, Al Gore, John Kerry and Bill Northey. LEFT AND RIGHT MEDIA HAS APPEARED TO SHIFT ROLES WHEN IT COMES TO EXPOSES  &  CRITIQUES OF HILLARY CLINTON’S STANDS IN FAVOR TECHNO-GIANTS’ INCREASING INVOLVEMENT IN THE PRODUCTION OF FOOD  —   ESPECIALLY ONE OF THOSE GIANTS, MONSANTO

Articles like the one that appeared in the Times and cited above are rare in the establishment liberal press and other like-minded  parts of the mainstream media. That raises an obvious question WHY ?

Conversely, most of the whining about Hillary Clinton’s subservient posture vis a vis the likes of the Monsanto Corporation comes from the near- or far-right  press and blogs. However, the appeal of such coverage is easily understood when one considers this: 1) it is anti-Hillary Clinton, who has long been a bete noir to those comfortably on the right; and 2) it is a narrative that fits quite nicely into many right-wing conspiracy theories.

Nonetheless, the almost complete absence of any expression of left-liberal outrage appearing in the left-liberal media, paralleling what has been published on the right concerning the Clinton-Monsanto alliance, is SHOCKING ....

IN DEPTH WASHINGTON TIMES COVERAGE SHOWS HOW SOME IOWA DEMOCRATS HAVE ALREADY PULLED BACK FROM HILLARY’S CAMPAIGN OVER THE HILLARY CLINTON – MONSANTO CONNECTION

Last week, Washington Times newswriter, S.A. Similar coverage has appeared elsewhere in dribs and drabs; just a few days ago there was similar short report about some Democrats in Iowa who appear to have withdrawn their support for presidential candidate Hillary Clinton over her support for GMO crops and agri-giant Monsanto. While other right-leaning blogs and magazines have picked up the Washington Times story and mixed it in with related news.  One went like this “Democrats who had been programmed to blindly vote for Hillary Clinton are picking their jaws up off the floor after learning the truth about Hillary's ties to Monsanto. The ties run so deep that she's now being dubbed the ‘Bride of Frankenfood.’...   [According to a report in the Washington Times] ‘Hillary Rodham Clinton's ties to agribusiness giant Monsanto, and her advocacy for the industry's genetically modified crops, have environmentalists in Iowa calling her “Bride of Frankenfood”.’...  ‘A large faction of women voiced strong support for Mrs. Clinton's candidacy until the GMO issue came up, prompting them to switch allegiances to Sen. She goes on to say, “Hillary Rodham Clinton doesn’t represent the American people....  Recently, she stated her desire to get industry representatives around a table to have an ‘intensive discussion’ about ‘how the federal government could help biotechs with insurance against [financial] risk.’...”
