Congressional Committee and the Manhattan DA: Pushback --- then counter-pushback --- then counter-counter pushback
Wash, rinse, repeat !!!
In a letter from the Manhattan DA's Chief Counsel on behalf of the George Soros-backed Manhattan District Attorney Alvin Bragg, the DA's in-house top advisory lawyer is calling the demands of GOP House Committee chairmen to force his testimony an “unlawful incursion” onto the DA Bragg's legal turf, and interference with his ongoing probe into former President Trump’s role in a very local hush money scandal. This response from Bragg comes as GOP DC lawmakers, led by the Republican House Judiciary Committee Chair Jim Jordan, demanded that the NYC DA turn over all documents and communications about the case, in order that Bragg would meet their Thursday deadline, which had been set earlier this week by Jordan's committee.
In Bragg's Chief Counsel's letter pushing back on the U.S. Congressman Jim Jordan's earlier letter demanding information on the Trump probe, Bragg's lawyer mentioned the following: “Your letter treads into territory very clearly reserved to the states. It suggests that Congress’s investigation is being ‘conducted solely for the personal aggrandizement of the investigators or to “punish” those investigated,’ and is, therefore, ‘indefensible’...” --- citing a 1957 Supreme Court ruling limiting congressional investigations.
It should be noted that Manhattan DA Alvin Bragg is no longer the only local NYC official or former official sought by the GOP-led House Committee in connection with the NYC DA's Trump probe. Chairman Jordan has also requested testimony from two former prosecutors who had resigned from the Manhattan DA's office over disagreements with Bragg.
Those requests by Chairman Jordan were sent to Mark Pomerantz, former New York County Special Assistant District Attorney, and Carey Dunne, a former Manhattan Special Assistant District Attorney, both of whom had resigned from Bragg’s office during February 2022 over disagreements involving various Trump investigations.....
Fatso Donald Trump is ALL-CAPS SHRIEKING LIKE A MANIC 2-YEAR-OLD! in his personal, highly censored online windtunnel.
ReplyDeleteIf I were Trump I wouldn't post a cute photomontage that showed me aiming a baseball bat at an elected official's head.
ReplyDeleteWhy not, 222? A baseball bat is a very manly image and a picture is worth a thousand words.
ReplyDeleteA thousand words about our national leader's manliness is a very wonderful thing, and a simple image of that is even more wonderful.
I don't know exactly what "cute photomontage" you are talking about, but some pix of Trump aiming a bat at some pols head couldn't have been as devestatingly deadly to any and all of his enemies as Trump's Saturday Night Massacre postings about the prospective Bragg indictment fiasco and the "PROTEST, PROTEST, PROTEST" scripted chant.
Thus, whatever your whine might be about is very small potatoes compared to Trump's toying with his opponents like Bragg.
Will fatso GM finally give Nick C the respect he deserves after he leads Avery to a GOP primary win..probably not.
ReplyDelete421, Trump's post on Truth Social (pic of him aiming a bat at Bragg's head) was just his latest lunacy. He's still whinescreaming to the cult.
ReplyDeleteBut, 429, it is actually you who is really whining like a squealing little "Karen" about Trump.
ReplyDeleteThat stuff on Trump's TRUTH SOCIAL site was somebody else's material from another source...
However, it is a very good montage of Trump, the baseball bat, and Alvin Bragg, though!
459, Trump paused in his endless uppercase whining and posted "somebody else's material."
ReplyDeleteHmmmmm! What's yer pernt, 524?
ReplyDeleteWhen one looks at a District Attorney's Asset Forfeiture money you get to see what's up, down and sideways at that DA's office. At the Manhattan DA's Office not so long ago, the DA's petty cash wasn't very petty, or even somewhat close to being petty. The prior Manhattan DA Cyrus Vance had almost 715 million dollars in what was called "Asset Forfeiture" money, but somehow most of that cash disappeared - POOF! - like one of those headliner magic acts in AC or Las Vegas.
ReplyDeleteWhen Bragg took over the Manhattan DA's office there was only 38 million dollars in the "Asset Forfeiture" account, according to an article last year in "The City." For those keeping count, that would be around 675-680 million dollars in the office petty cash or slush fund from the "Asset Forfeiture" account that went missing during the Vance-Bragg hand-over. That's somewhere between a half and three-quarters of a billion dollars, an amount that ain't so petty even for rich people; and it is way more than the $120,000 or thereabouts of the allegedly misallocated funds for the repayment to a lawyer named Cohen by Trump for "legal fees" supposedly connected to Cohen's work in getting Stormy Daniels to go for an NDA about Trump and her.
We have a pretty good idea of all the investigating that DAs Cy Vance and Alvin Bragg have done about Donald Trump. But has Alvin Bragg investigated what very well might be a massive defalcation of almost $680 million in public funds right from under his nose by his predecessor Manhattan DA, Cy Vance?
Trumps lawyer paid 130k and didnt report it. that sounds much bigger.
ReplyDeleteI believe the NYC Comptroller would audit the DA's accounts.
ReplyDeleteNow don't go trying to mix Brad Lander into this whole Trump-Bragg-Vance mess. In the first place, the NYC Comptroller only conducts occasional audits of certain operations, methods and expenditurs of NYC's five DA's offices; and Lander especially wants nothing to do with auditing the Asset Forfeiture books of the Manhattan DA, aka the New York County DA (DANY), nor those of any other NYC DA's offices. Also, the NYC Comptroller would never do any kind of fiscal oversight connected to the cost of investigationg and prosecuting any particular criminal case by any NYC DA.
ReplyDeleteBrad Lander is the controller. Monitoring the DA's budget is his job.
ReplyDeleteBrian Fox and Alvin Bragg look like they could be brothers
ReplyDelete11:19, Bragg looks healthier than Fox. Which is really/sadly sayin' somethin'.
DeleteAH-EEEEEEE!
ReplyDeleteGail, Gail, wake up and moderate your blog. Your friend, YKW, has highjacked your blog for his anti-DA attacks; and he's dragging the rest of us into the weeds about some accounting stuff and the NYC Controller. If you want to lose your base of ten regular readers, keep telling them about accounting stuff and the Controller of the City of New York.
But be sure to leave up the comment about Fox looking like Bragg's brother. It is both funny and accurate, and so little on this blog is either anymore.
When John Liu was comptroller he audited Brooklyn DA Hynes and identified some of Hynes' bigger problems. Then John Liu ran into problems of his own with prosecutors in 2011 and 2012, and the fund raising scandal about the indictment of Liu's fund raisers virtually ended his chances to become Mayor of NYC... Get the picture?
ReplyDeleteUPDATE & BACKFILL: THE "WHY ??? THE LATE FLURRY OF ARI KAGAN CAMPAIGN PITCHES NEAR THE END OF THE PETITIONING PERIOD" EDITION
ReplyDeleteWITH LESS THAN TWO WEEKS TO GO BEFORE THE END OF PETITONING --- THE KAGAN CAMPAIGN IS STARTING TO SHOW SOME STRAIN..... DO THE TEAM OF GRIFTERS: ARI KAGAN, LIAM MC CABE & BRIAN FOX SEE THEIR DREAMS OF THE BIG GRIFT OF THE 2023 KAGAN CAMPAIGN FOR CITY COUNCIL SLIPPING AWAY ???
KAGAN COMPARES HIS BAD FUND RAISIMG TOTALS ONLY BECAUSE HE THINKS THAT THEY LOOK GOOD COMPARED TO THOSE OF RAGUSA, PEREIRA AND BELFIORE-DELFAUS
A WEEK LATE --- BRIAN FOX SUDDENLY RE-POSTS A LIAM MCCABE ENDORSEMENT OF ARI KAGAN
Here's what Kagan posted less than two days ago: "Ari Kagan... March 22, 2023 at 6:26 PM... I am excited to announce that we have outraised our three potential GOP Primary opponents combined according to the latest filing data from the NYC Campaign Finance Board. Our campaign raised $16,380 for the filing period starting January 14th and ending March 11th, while the three candidates now petitioning for the same seat raised $15,485 combined during the same period. I am grateful for the resounding support I have received from Southern Brooklyn residents. It is an honor to be carrying the flag for the Brooklyn GOP. I have more donors from the borough of Brooklyn than all my potential primary opponents combined since fundraising began.... Every dollar donated by a NYC resident is matched 8 to 1 through the NYC Campaign Finance Board Matching Funds Program. Which means your $25 donation is worth $225. If you’re able to donate any amount, you can do so at the link below.... Thank you very much for your support!! The Republican Primary for City Council is scheduled for June 27th...."
The Brian Fox re-post of Liam's endorsement of Kagan was done earlier today.
443, brothers can look very similar and have very dissimilar appearing health indicators, possibly indicating varied outlooks for wellness outcomes.
ReplyDeleteEven that midget Ragusa raised more cash than Ari Kagan
ReplyDelete456, Bragg is regular-fat. Fox looks scarily inflated.
ReplyDelete941, that isn't even close to being true.
ReplyDeleteNeither Ragusa nor Kagan have raised very much, but Kagan raised more and has more on hand.
Ragusa on social media says he raised more money than Kagan and Brannan combined!
