Both candidates are expressing confidence that when all the paper ballots are counted, each of their sides will be victorious. --- Regardless of the candidates' level of confidence and their brave "election night" pronouncements, as a matter of logic and necessity, one of them will be right and the other wrong.
According to the NY Times updated results at 4:00 AM, the results from the BOE for the 43rd Council District were as follows:
With approximately 95% of the vote counted...
Brian Fox... Republican... 12,145 Votes... 50.5%
Justin Brannan*... Democrat... 11,890 Votes... 49.5%
_______________
*Incumbent
Even though there are a substantial number of votes yet to be tabulated in this contest, most deli counters couldn't slice ham any thinner than the current margin between these two candidates.
Remember, no count is "official" until the formal "recanvas" of the votes is completed and certified by the BOE.
Most people were surprised by the closeness of the vote between Brian and Brannan. The only ones that were not, were those that were too completely shocked to have been merely surprised.
Fox is up by 255 votes.
ReplyDeleteAnd this time Liam "Boy Genius" McCabe has a team to stop justin from stealing it with paper ballots.
Fox won. Brannen lost.
ReplyDeleteWho is "Brannen"?
Deletestatewide ballot proposal to use paper ballots without justification was voted down with only 39%. The paper ballots that suddenly appear always benefit dems.
ReplyDeletewell now its after 10 am and NY 1 has justin down by over 725 votes. gotta be killing you gale.
ReplyDeleteCouncil Minority Leader Fox was consistent. Brannen talking out of both sides of his mouth on defunding the police fooled nobody. Plus the only campaigning Brannan did was in the Bronx and Queens.
ReplyDeleteRESPONSE: THE "REAL NUMBERS ON NY 1 ARE THE SAME AS WHAT WE'RE REPORTING" EDITION
ReplyDeleteTO: "ANNONYMOUS SAID... AT 10:25 AM"
WE AT THIS INDEPENDENT GOP BLOG ARE FAR FROM "KILLED" --- "SHOCKED" --- AND/OR "DISHEARTENED" IN ANY WAY BY THE LOCAL AND OTHER ELECTION RESULTS ANNOUNCED LAST NIGHT AND/OR REPORTED THIS MORNING
THERE DOES APPEAR TO HAVE BEEN A MINI-RED-WAVE ACROSS NYC, NEW JERSEY AND OTHER PLACES AROUND THE COUNTRY
IN BROOKLYN THAT MEANT THE GOP HAD ONE CLEAR WINNER --- INNA VERNIKOV --- WHO WILL BE GOING TO THE CITY COUNCIL IN JANUARY 2022
THE BROOKLYN GOP HAS ONE MORE POSSIBLE WINNER IN BRIAN FOX --- HOWEVER HIS ELECTION REMAINS QUITE PROBLEMATIC --- AND THE POSTION OF THIS BLOG ON THAT ELECTION RESULT REMAINS EXACTLY THE SAME AS WE REPORTED IN OUR MAIN TEXT ABOVE
In the 43rd Council District, we here at this independent GOP blog >>> DISFAVORED <<< both candidates --- Brannan and Fox. As a result, we knew that whoever won in the 43rd City Council District, we would not be backing the winner. Nothing has happened to change our outlook one bit.
As for the Brooklyn GOP and Conservative Party, let's see how things turn out if they have wound up with "Big Bag of Broken Glass Brian" as one of their elected officials. One has to watch out for what one wishes for, because sometimes the wishes do come true.
Let's see what happens next.....
NEWS FLASH: THE "TEMPORARY LIFTING OF A PERSONAL BAN" EDITION
ReplyDeleteAS PART OF OUR POST-ELECTION COVERAGE --- WE HAVE THIS FROM YKW.....
"... Bob Capano, a Republican candidate for this seat in 2009 and 2017, released the following statement:
"Congratulations to Brian Fox on a great race and clear lead. Our community sent an unmistakable message- we support our police and public safety, not criminals. Brannan lost critical support from voters in the summer of 2020 when Black Lives Matter agitators from outside our district invaded our community surrounding the 68th Precinct. They threw eggs and other objects at cops, burned American flags, torched trash baskets, and harassed diners. Brannan dared not condemn them. Instead, he blamed Republicans. He put his lot in with the socialist and defund the police wackos and it may have cost him his job."
WHAT A GUY --- WHAT A GUY --- WHAT A GUY !!!
McCaullife conceded. Saperstein conceded. But justin still hasnt goten the message.
ReplyDeleteBrannen will carry the day once they count all the paper. It doesn't matter by how much because you know what they call the guy who wins by 1 vote? Councilman.
ReplyDelete12:16 has a good point. get used to it folks !!
ReplyDeleteCouncilman Fox, or, Councilman elect Fox.
Is Justin going to the Trump playbook of election interfearance.
ReplyDeleteRESPONSE: THE "CART BEFORE THE HORSE" EDITION
ReplyDeleteTO: "ANONYMOUS SAID... AT 2:17 PM"
RIGHT NOW >>> NEITHER BRANNAN NOR BRIAN KNOW WHO WON THIS CITY COUNCIL ELECTION FOR 2021.....
WAITING FOR THE VOTE COUNT TO FINISH ISN'T ANY KIND OF WHAT YOU CALL "INTERFERENCE" --- RIGHT NOW, IT LOOKS LIKE 255 VOTES SEPARATE THE TWO CANDIDATES --- WITH 255 VOTES BEING 1.07% OF THE TOTAL VOTE COUNTED SO FAR; AND 97.37% OF THE EDs REPORTING --- (THAT'S WITH NY 1 REPORTING THAT 111 EDs OUT OF THE 114 TOTAL WERE COUNTED; AND THE BOE REPORTING THAT THE PERCENTAGE OF SCANNERS INTERROGATED AND INCLUDED IN THE COUNT WAS 98.25%)..... SO,THERE ARE STILL AT LEAST 1.75% TO 2.63% OF THE SCANNED VOTE YET TO BE COUNTED --- AND AN, AS YET UNDISCLOSED, VARIETY AND QUANTITY OF PAPER BALLOTS AND POTENTIAL PAPER BALLOTS TO BE ACCOUNTED FOR
BTW and FYI --- nobody has yet seen a single "Official" tally of votes cast in the 43rd Council District in 2021. As we completely and correctly pointed out in our main text above: ".... Remember, no count is 'official' until the formal 'recanvas' of the votes is completed and certified by the BOE...." --- And it's only after that, when what you might be referring to as "election interference" can begin.
Justin has made it clear he will not accept the results. If he did he would have called Fox to congradulate him.
ReplyDeleteThe vote has been counted. Justin lost. Time to move on.
ReplyDeleteCapano already worked for the BP. Seems like a fit in the Adams administration.
ReplyDelete450, but Brian Fox hasn't won anything yet, he's not a City Councilman, he doesn't reprsent anybody, and he doesn't seem to know all the things that he isn't.
ReplyDeleteI hear a deal has been worked out..capano will be the next Commisisoner of the Community Assistance Unit. I hear Markowitz pushed it..capano WA his director of community boards so it makes sense.
ReplyDeleteWho is going to give Brian Fox a job once Brannan pulls ahead and is certified as the elected member of the city council from D43 again?
ReplyDeleteCapano left NYC and is desperately trying to stay relevant in NYC politics, but his choice, Sliwa, was a waste. He couldnt even break 30% in a race where NOBODY even came out to vote. Time to take your cats and go back to the subway tunnels
ReplyDelete739
ReplyDeleteAs long as Bob is close with (as he is) with John catsimatidis, Marty Markowitz, and the now SI Beep Vito Fossella, and Curtis sliwa,, he will always be relevant in NYC politics!
