The day that the Brooklyn GOP music died

There was a reason that Golden and Quags sat out the Ghorra-fest  ---  If you're not sure whether the service to which you are invited is going to be a wedding or a funeral,  then it's better for you to find a reason not to be there  ---  it avoids the possibility of lots of different kinds of present and/or future embarrassment(s).  (Ahem !!!  Can some among my brothers and sisters give me a loud "AMEN" ???)

Besides, Marty Golden and John Quaglione would not have found a "safe place" in which they'd be comfortable at the Ghorra-McCabe reception

The 2017 Republican Kings County Convention was  held earlier today.   The event took place virtually in secret (and almost as surely on improper and short notice) at the Brooklyn Bar Association on Remsen Street. Twenty-six people were in duh house... but only twenty-three of them were elected members of the Brooklyn Republican County Committee.

I won't talk about the preliminaries,  other than to say that good order and the proper formalities were not followed..... The need for roll-calls and the obvious absence thereof or any motion(s) to dispense with roll-calls would seem to be high on the list of inadequate formalities and/or the lack of good order.

The vote for "Chairman" was a rather simple and straight forward affair.  Three names were put forward for nomination:  Ted Ghorra,  Steve Maresca and Clorinda Annarummo.  However,  only Ted Ghorra's name was put up for a vote on the floor.  That vote appears to have been one-sided,  but Ghorra's total was far from unanimous,  since about 84 of the tallied votes did not vote for Ghorra.

The reason that Marty Golden and John Quaglione would not have felt all that welcome at today's Remsem Street gathering, would be that their presence would only have disrupted the Liam McCabe-Ted Ghorra exchange of verbal bouquets.  Liam put Ted Ghorra's name in nomination;  and for his part,  Ted Ghorra said that he was playing the "long game" and that he thought Liam McCabe would be a big part of that "long game" as the Brooklyn GOP's Vice Chairman for Youth Outreach.  Several of Liam's people were also given Vice Chairman spots  ---  although there seemed to have been a problem with a "Raymond Caneletta" that almost sent Liam into one of his legendary spirals.

  7. I hear the honeymoon is almost over. Ghorra is not showing Golden the respect that the old man wants and needs to survive.

Golden is already being challenged by Barkan which means he needs a united party.

Kassar is the puppeteer of Ghorra now and Golden doesnt like that.

    Old well, politics in Brooklyn.

    Same shitheads, different day......

  9. Funny you ask, I just saw Eaton on 3rd Avenue driving a new white Mercedes S550 convertible...must be doing something right.

And, dont kid yourself. Q cant win....

  10. Capano is back. Was he ever gone?

  11. But did someone put a banana to Capano's head and force him to run on the Reformed line? Was Capano at Q's victory celebration on Primary Night nothing more than a mere mirage? Who do we presume is pulling Capano's strings, Chair Eaton? Capano in the race shaves and splits votes off from Q's right flank and hands this race to the Democrat..........As they say: "Game, set, match."

  12. When Bob went to congrat q it was just that. Congrats you won the primary. The reform party may emerge as the alternative to diblasio and loser nicole.

  13. NOW HEAR THIS --- NOW HEAR THIS: THE "WATCH >>> BOTH <<< THE CAPANO & THE MC CABE CAMPAIGNS GROW OVER THE NEXT MONTH" EDITION

JUST COMPARE THE CANDIDACIES OF ALL FOUR CANDIDATES --- ONLY ONE STANDS OUT FROM THE OTHER THREE >>> JUSTIN BRANNAN <<< THE OTHER THREE ARE "CONSERVATIVE REPUBLICANS" --- OR SO THEY SAY

You know anybody can do repeated mailers with repetitious four way comparisons of the four candidates..... Brannan can do it, and it's all good for him if he does..... Capano can do it, and it's mostly good for him and his friends if he does..... McCabe can do it, and there are even some good reason for Liam to do so..... But on the other hand, you know it's bad for Quaglione, and it doesn't make much sense for anybody really supporting Quaglione to do it --- but, I'm sure somebody can do it in JQ's name, to complete the set, just for the fun of it, or for some of bullshit that JQ pulled during the primary race for the GOP nomination.....

  14. So much for Ghorra uniting bklyn GOP with Quaglione. .McCabe is campaign manager for Eric Ulrich in Queens, sitting on his hands instead of helping Q and it looks like Capano is not sitting on his hands as the Reform Party candidate against Quaglione and Brannan.

  15. UPDATE: THE "BOB CAPANO KEEPS TURNING UP & TURNING UP THE HEAT ON QUAGLIONE, THE GOLDEN-GHORRA REPUBLICANS & THE CONSERVATIVE PARTY" EDITION

    >>> IN ADDITION <<< BOB CAPANO IS STILL DOING HIS CAMPAIGN-STYLE PRESS RELEASES AS HE CONTINUES TO BE AN ACTIVE CANDIDATE TO BE THE CITY COUNCIL FROM THE 43RD COUNCIL DISTRICT

Capano keeps appearing on the debate and forum circuit as the Reform Party Candidate for the City Council in the 43rd District. Bob is also working hard to get some echo from those appearances by putting out relevant press releases related to his positions as expressed at those debates and forums.

Today, Mr. Capano clearly separated himself from Quaglione and Brannan by arguing in favor of a New York State Constitutional Convention --- emphasizing that a Con-Con would facilitate >>> TERM LIMITS <<<. That puts Capano on more solid ground with the Conservative Party than John Quaglione who was taken on recently by the Conservatives as their candidate for the NYC Council in the 43rd Council District.

The Conservative Party needs to be investigated for obvious criminal activity in their dealings with the candidacy of Mr. Quaglione..... It is clear that they are culpable of crimes and conducting a criminal enterprise by engaging in the business of running an unregistered foster care operation for Republican candidates like John Quaglione --- and some have even suggested that their adoption of Quaglione was part of a plan or scheme to circumvent the NYS Election laws (and possibly even NYC ordinances).

  16. Ghorra is not uniting anything...he was with Liam all the way, made Liam a Vice Chair in the GOP and now Liam is Campaign Mgr for Ulrich, Kassars buddy.
Kassar has Ghorra by the short hairs - and I dont mean on his head......

  17. The "long game" (recently but briefly mentioned on this blog) and planned by Long, Kassar, Ghorra and Golden has been killed in its crib. Not only are the real Dems targeting Marty in 2018, but Brooklyn insurgencies are still brewing in both the Republican and Conservative parties, with lots of help from Staten Island that sees the Brooklyn invasion for what it is.

The Pax Golden & Ghorra didn't even last two weeks; but anyway, all along it was a lot closer to being a Pox Golden with a little Ghorrarhea thrown in for zest.
