A couple of days ago, somebody, who was once one of Marty Golden's strongest supporters, called me with a few leads.
The material mentioned in the headlines above was just one of those things..... One of those crazy flings..... [Yeah, that does have the old familiar ring of a showtune doesn't it .....]
The Tweet [From Albanian Marko Kepi ???] includes an article by the SI Advance's political guy, Tom Wrobleski that is a blatant journalistic hit piece aimed at Nicole Malliotakis.
Now, let's close our eyes and say: "MARKO !!!" [answer: "KEPI !!!"]..... [Yeah, that does have the old familiar ring of a GEICO TV ad doesn't it ???]
Kepi has been reprimanded for going rogue before so I am not sure Marty or Kassar know what Kepi is posting about Nicole The Great but this doth beg the question, what is Kepi posting, and when did Marty know and was it done while on the clock for the New York State Senate ?

ReplyDeleteMarty was trying to flex on Nicole using his usual stooge Kepi but it backfired for both of them. He had to take his site down for a week as punishment and to make look good that it wan done with Marty's approval.

Someone told me tonight that Liam and Capano will both be on the ballot once again in November; Liam on the "Stop de Blasio" line, and Capano on the Reform line.
What a mess.

ReplyDeleteHe has been chair for how long, 10 mos, and he can only get 10 people to the GOP meetings; 175 people to a GOP Dinner; 12 people to a Judicial convention and has to have people knocking on doors at 9:00pm on Sunday to get proxies for a monday reorg convention.
He picked the wrong candidate for City Council and then pretends he was with John Q all along.
Some leadership that is.

The Primary was on Sept 12....today is the 20th day....close, huh...what if they dont get a quorum?

In fact at Liam's HQ on primary night Gorra was overheard telling everyone, together with his red-headed step-child Doherty that "Q cant beat Justin..we will just stand behind him but he has no shot..absolutely no shot".

I already got so much stuff that I need to sit down with my notes and do a feature piece..... The key names are Ghorra, McCabe, Rudiano, Daly and Doherty (... And McGlynn and Maguire couldn't get much higher; and everybody's gettin' fat 'cept Mama Cass. Di-di-di-dit dit dit di-di-di-dit...). Oh-oh-oh !!! AND SIMON SHAMOUN.
It was all BS --- BTW Marty and JQ didn't even bother to make an appearance at the Brooklyn Bar Association --- only 26 folks did show up and only 23 of those were members of the County Committee --- not to worry, no real roll call was conducted, even though no proper motion was made to dispense with "formal" party rules proceedings --- the total of live votes and proxies was 468..... HMMMMM !!! That looks like a very low number --- And here's something very interesting --- there were 994 unfilled County Committee slots and no replacements were proposed and voted upon..... (I wonder why Rudiano and Shamooun didn't speak up ?????)
In other words, anybody that wants to challenge the >>> EXISTENCE <<< of a formal GOP organization in Brooklyn can do so if they act within the time period allowed for an Article 78 and/or to start an internal BOE challenge to the filing of any of the 2017 Brooklyn GOP organization papers at the BOE.
I'd challenge the "existence" of a formal GOP but i have to separate my brown socks from my black socks first.
ReplyDeleteI noticed an article in the new york times about a civil war between the brooklyn and staten island GOP over the Grimm/Donovan battle. Sounds a tad more interesting than a county committee meeting nobody showed up for.

ReplyDeleteWhat leadership? I heard there were 20 people in the room and only 300 proxies. Not a resounding victory in my opinion. Even unopposed he can't get a decent amount of proxies......what a shame where the Brooklyn GOP has gone to.

It's obvious that Golden and Kassar don't shepherd Golden's staff when it comes to behavior vis a vis Nicole (See, for example, my immediately preceding post on this blog about Marko Kepi).
Gailyman, your numbers can't be right. A few years ago, the delegates and proxies count was about four times higher.

All I can say is that when liberal Democrat activists are talking repeatedly on the down-low with Right to Life, conservative Republicans about the need to get rid of Marty Golden, the intra-party GOP resistance might be changing into a full-blown cancer.
When two different Republican sources >>> that pretty much hate each other <<< tell me related stories with overlapping facts, one has to think something is afoot.....
I spoke to two different non-Marty Republicans --- one yesterday and one today. One spoke of conversations with county- and state-wide Democrat operatives very interested in the Golden State Senate Seat. The other talked about their recent conversations with Ross Barkan. Then the first GOP activist ( who never mentioned Mr. Barkan yesterday ) sent me a bunch of Ross Barken links in an E-mail.
To go a little further with my "Resistance-Caner" analogy, lots of Cancer breakthroughs have come out of the study of autoimmune diseases ( the "resistance" component ), and lots of autoimmune breakthroughs have come out of research related to malignancies (the "cancer" component ).
