Did Julianne Cuba Blow Up Jerry Kassar, the Conservative Party in Brooklyn, the Independence Party in Brooklyn and the Dirty Deal that benefited Republican City Council Candidate John Quaglione ?????

COURIER-LIFE’S  10/12/17 “BROOKLYN DAILY” POLITICAL COLUMN “PARTY LINE”  SAYS THAT  “EVERYBODY LIES”  ---  MEANING CONSERVATIVE PARTY KINGS COUNTY CHAIRMAN JERRY KASSAR AND VICE CHAIRPERSON FRAN VELLA-MARRONE ARE LYING   ---  AND EVEN THAT NYS CONSERVATIVE CHAIRMAN MIKE LONG IS MOST LIKELY DISSEMBLING ABOUT THE SKULDUGGERY THAT RESULTED IN JOHN QUAGLIONE’S BEING SUBSTITUTED ONTO THE CONSERVATIVE AND INDEPENDENCE PARTY LINES

According to Julianne Cuba,  Conservative Party Chairman Mike Long says that “…. Brooklyn Conservative Party chairman Gerry Kassar — who didn’t return a request for comment and still denies ever being a part of the scheme — was fully in the know [about the scheme to circumvent the NYS Election Law by substituting John Quaglione as the City Council Candidate for both the Conservative and Independence Parties]….   ‘Gerry was aware of it, he’s naturally aware of it because it was his county that ultimately had to make the switch — I had nothing to do with that part of it, I’m not a delegate,’  [Mike Long] said….   And Capano is now charging that the same party leaders who initiated the deal to swap out Conservative and Independence placeholder candidate John Bruno — which insiders said stank of back-room politics — are trying to silence his campaign by asking him to ‘play dead’ and ‘step aside’ so he won’t take votes away from Quaglione. He pointed to being left out of the Dyker Heights Civic Association forum on Oct. 10….”  (See “Reform Party blows up deal to combine conservative lines” by Julianne Cuba  10/12/17,  Courier-Life/ Brooklyn Daily/ Party Line   [https://www.brooklyndaily.com/stories/2017/41/pl-party-line-2017-10-13-bk.html]).

  1. I have a few questions about this particular Julianne Cuba column:

Is Mister Long throwing Mister Kassar under the bus for not owning the post-primary party lines switcheroos? After all, wouldn't Mr. K's signature be on every document filed with the BOE including Wilson-Pakula designations, declinations, substitutions, and acceptances.

Or has Kassar suddenly become a liability to the Conservatives, because he's been caught in so many lies lately? Or maybe he's being put out to pasture, because he is way past his "sell by" date?

Is a toussel-haired rapscalion the new golden calf? And is FVM finally coming out as a middle-aged lecherous phony whose purpose is to perpetuate patronage, and maybe even get a little something extra on the side?

    Just asking!

Lick your finger and stick it to the wind. Is there change is in the air with the distinct aroma of feta cheese wafting our way. And who can tell me for sure that there's going to be or not be some Grimm tidings for everybody involved between this and next Halloween.

  2. Capano has certainly brought sunlight to the conservative party and Kassar acting like king

  3. The king ain't got no clothes, and that ain't a pretty sight. It's even scaring the livestock.

  5. RESPONSE: THE "WHEN I SEE AN ELEPHANT FLY..." EDITION

TO EVERYBODY WHO'S SUDDENLY TREATING JERRY KASSAR LIKE HE'S DUMBO BEFORE THEY FOUND OUT HE COULD FLY

Kassar was once a bouncy little baby boy that everybody around oooh'd and coooh'd over.....

And it's at times like these that I want to grab the big lug, put him on my knee and sing:

    Baby mine, don't you cry
    Baby mine, dry your eyes
Rest your head close to my heart
Never to part, baby of mine

    Little one when you play
Don't you mind what they say
Let those eyes sparkle and shine
Never a tear, baby of mine

If they knew sweet little you
They'd end up loving you too
All those same people who scold you
    What they'd give just for
    The right to hold you

From your head to your toes
    You're so sweet, goodness knows
You are so precious to me
Sweet as can be, baby of mine

  6. Again with the singing, Gail!

Were you frustrated that you were born after the age of barbershop quartets?

Is there no end to your melodic madness?

  7. Gale,
    Nice tune.
    Don't quit your day job.

  8. Oh yeah like Capano wouldnt have gone along with the deal if he won?

  9. RESPONSE: THE "DON'T YOU FOLKS KNOW THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN MUSIC & LYRICS" EDITION

TO THE COMMENTERS REFERRING TO MY EXTENDED QUOTE OF THE >>> LYRICS <<< TO "BABY MINE"

I AM NOT SINGING ANY OF THE SHOW TUNES OR OTHER SONGS WHOSE LYRICS OCCASIONALLY APPEAR IN MY POSTS AND/OR COMMENTS

Here's how I usually arrive at my tuneful postings, when I decide to use the >>> words <<< from a song:

    a) I get the idea that a particular song will express a point that I want to make;

    b) I check the various song lyrics sites to be sure I can cut and paste an authoritative version of the lyrics;

    c) I go to You Tube and listen to various covers of the song; and see if I still think it works for me; and

    d) I post the lyrics, you know the >>> WORDS <<<, because this blog is only a words site, usually with separation between the verses and refrains.

So you see, my quoted tunes actually serve the purpose of a dramatic chorus.....

The "Baby Mine" tune originally from Disney's classic "Dumbo" was in my head, because it again was used in the penultimate episode of AMC's "Halt and Catch Fire" (Series Finale tomorrow night) for powerful dramatic effect and extreme personal affect. Again, it apparently was sung by Kerry Bishe in her role as Donna Clark (giving the context could be a "spoiler," so I won't). The original was in the feature length cartoon "Dumbo" and was sung by Betty Noyes --- later on, Bette Midler covered it very well in the movie "Beaches" and on albums --- and Alison Krauss has since made it a big part of her repertoire. So far, Kerry Bishe's "Halt and Catch Fire" version(s) haven't made it to You Tube.....

  11. UPDATE: THE "MAKINGS OF A SMALL BUT EFFECTIVE CAMPAIGN" EDITION

BOB CAPANO'S UBIQUITOUS PRESS RELEASES INDICATE THAT AT THREE OR FOUR MORE FORMAL EVENTS HE WILL BE INTRODUCED & BE APPEARING AS A THIRD CANDIDATE IN THE CITY COUNCIL RACE FOR BAY RIDGE, DYKER HEIGHTS, BATH BEACH AND ADJOINING AREAS

IN ADDITION, I HAVE IT ON THE DOWN-LOW THAT BOB'S TEAM IS ALSO BUDGETING FOR A MODEST $25,000 MEDIA BLITZ --- WHAT THE MIX & TARGETING OF HIS MESSAGE MIGHT BE IS YET TO BE DECIDED

Clearly, Bob Capano wants to stick with one of his messages --- that he is the Donald Trump candidate for City Council from the 43rd District. Also, somebody around BC is putting out that the whole effort is to show that BC can effectively mount "... a small but effective campaign after a tough primary battle with the [as yet unconsolidated and un-reconciled] new GOP regime of Golden & Ghorra..."; and that BC and his peeps can still influence political events around Southwest Brooklyn in November elections.

The "PS" to all of this seems to be that it ain't even gonna end with the 2017 municipal general elections.

    ReplyDelete
  12. If this was their plan, it should have included a slate of District Leader and County Committee candidates across Brooklyn (not to mention inside the 43rd Council District).

    ReplyDelete
  13. Q will cruise to victory.

  14. RESPONSE: THE "PLANS ??? WE DON'T NEED NO STINKIN' PLANS....."

TO: "ANONYMOUS SAID... AT 12:22 PM"

I didn't say anything about a plan vis a vis Capano's Reform Party Campaign or anything else for that matter.

In fact, I haven't seen or heard anything close to a plan coming out of anybody on the Capano Team. It's always been a little of "... maybe, we'll do [this]; or maybe, we can try [that]..."

I've always said this campaign has some real shortcomings.

  15. Bobs plan is to maintain his third place status.

  16. RESPONSE: THE "TIME THAT THE OBVIOUS ISN'T VERY OBVIOUS TO SOME PEOPLE" EDITION

TO: "ANONYMOUS SAID... AT 2:37 PM"

YOU AT ONE AND THE SAME TIME HAVE SPOKEN BOTH THE WHOLE TRUTH AND A HALF TRUTH; HOWEVER, IN TOTAL IT DOESN'T APPEAR AS THE WHOLE TRUTH PLUS A HALF TRUTH, BUT A WHOLE TRUTH MINUS A HALF TRUTH --- IT'S FINAL VALUE BEING THAT OF A HALF TRUTH

Surely, BC will finish third in the three man field for City Council in the 43rd District, given that he is starting as a candidate only on a lower Third Party line..... Mr. Capano's principal opponent is John Quaglione, who is running on the GOP line as the result of a primary win, and on two higher third party lines than BC as a result of political corruption..... Equally surely, Bob Capano is well aware of that FACT and it is part of his plan, to the extent that there might be a plan.....

The only relevant issue concerning Bob Capano's Third Party run on the Reform Party line is what will constitute success..... The answer is pretty obvious, but let's see if anybody out there gets it --- because, as my headline noted, there's times when "... THE OBVIOUS ISN'T VERY OBVIOUS TO SOME PEOPLE..."

  17. Capano will get more votes on the Reform line than Q gets on the Con line..thats what matters here

  18. RESPONSE & A TEST FOR ALL OF YOUS: THE "TRES DROSTE DIABLOS" EDITION

TO: "ANONYMOUS SAID... AT 7:18 PM"

WHAT YOU SAID IS POSSIBLE, BUT I DOUBT THAT IT IS PROBABLE

NOW HERE IS A GAME THAT EVERYBODY CAN PLAY --- I'LL CALL IT THE "TRES DROSTE DIABLOS" RIDDLE:

Let's say that Justin Brannan, John Quaglione and Bob Capano are three devils or demons, each competing to dominate everything, including their two competitor devils..... Let's also say that each of three is a perfect image of, and when looked at alone, completely indistinguishable from the other two..... Lastly, one demon will completely overshadow visually dominate the other two; the second, though completely overshadowed and visually dominated by the first, will equally overshadow and dominate the third.....

Would it make any difference at all who might be Brannan, who were Quaglione, and who were Capano ??????

A rose by any other name.....

    ReplyDelete
  19. The Reform party will take more votes away from Brannen.

Quaglione has the wind at his back.

    ReplyDelete
  20. Let's be clear about one thing. Somebody blowing smoke up Q's ass isn't the same as his having the wind at his back.

    ReplyDelete
  21. Yesterday's Ragin' Muffins Parade showed once more what a dump of humanity Bay Ridge has become. During John Quaglione's entire career in 'public service' his neighborhood has gone one way, down the crapper.

    ReplyDelete
  22. 3 out of 4 votes Bob gets will be from dems. assuming of course bob gets 4 votes.

    ReplyDelete
  23. RESPONSE: THE "TEACHABLE MOMENT" EDITION

TO: "ANONYMOUS SAID... AT 9:14 AM"

OF COURSE, THAT IS POSSIBLE --- HOWEVER, ANY SUCCESSFUL GOP CANDIDATE NEEDS THE SUPPORT OF LOTS OF DEMOCRAT-REGISTERED VOTERS TO WIN IN A DISTRICT LIKE THE 43RD COUNCIL DISTRICT OR EVEN THE 23RD STATE SENATE DISTRICT.....

If the 3-out-of-4 Democrat votes are Democrats that often, or even just sometimes, vote for Republican candidates (you know, like the Trump-Reagan Democrats that made Donald Trump our 45th President); and we add that number to the 1-out-of-4 Republicans or Conservatives (using your 3/4-1/4 breakdown as an example), then my conclusion is that it's bad for Quaglione.

The only thing that matters in guaging Bob Capano's impact on this race will be the raw numbers or percentages --- although he has already had an impact on the environment of the 2017 campaigns, given all the attention he has received in the first quarter of the general election campaign.

BTW, all of that is bad for Quaglione and good for Brannan.

    ReplyDelete
  24. The only wind at Q's back is the wind he's broken after that last meal at Gino's.

    ReplyDelete
  25. So much for Capano not being to show his face in Bay Ridge as a commenter said here. I just got back from the 3rd Avenue Festival and saw Capano walking up and down the festival with about 20 supporters, signs, and Curtis slows. Much bigger presence than Quaglione and Brennan. Photos and video on Facebook already

  28. QUERY: DO YOU THINK BOB CAPANO IS GOING TO BE ON 'THE ED SULLIVAN SHOW' AFTER ALL IS SAID AND DONE ???

HIS MEDIA MAGIC HAS ACCOMPLISHED EVERYTHING ELSE..... PICTURE BOB ON THE SAME "TOAST OF THE TOWN" CARD WITH THE BEATLES, SENOR WENSES AND EVEN TOPO GIGIO --- BUT GET THIS >>> BOB IS THE ONE STEALING THE SHOW <<<

Ed Sullivan: NOW, RIGHT HERE ON OUR SHOW (SOUNDS LIKE 'SHOE') BOB CAPANO AND THE MORMAN TABERNACLE CHOIR DOING "HYMN TO A SUNDAY EVENING" FROM "BYE BYE BIRDIE":

Bob Capano: "[Speakin] Me on the Ed Sullivan show?

[Cue the music, Capano singing] Ed Sullivan...

[Speaking] Me, [Robert Capano] appearing with

    [Singing] Ed Sullivan.....

[Chorus of the Morman Tabernacle Choir -- singing] Ed-Ed Sullivan
    Ed-Ed-Sullivan
    Ah Ah Ed Sullivan

    [Chorus continues singing] Ed Sullivan
    Ed Sullivan
    Ed-Ed-Sul-Sul

[Chorus -- Booming] Ed Sullivan, Ed Sullivan
We're gonna be on Ed Sullivan....

[Women in the Chorus continues -- singing] angelically] How could any fam'ly be
    Half as fortunate as we?
    We'll be coast to coast,
    With our fav'rite host,
[Whole Chorus -- Booming] Ed Sullivan.

[Chorus continues loudly] Ed Sullivan, Ed Sullivan,
We're gonna be on Ed Sullivan!
[Women in chorus -- this time orgasmically] Ooooohhh!

[Bob Capano speaking] I've got a wonderful wife,
    [Soon a few] swell kids,
A good job and now this!

    Someday we'll recall
    The greatest day of all....

[Bob Capano speaking] Ed, I love you!

    Ed Sullivan...."

(Paul Lynde, wherever your "Center Square" is now, and George Wendt, off your "Cheers" bar-stool and onstage singing show tunes, eat your hearts out --- In my world, Bob Capano is the new iconic voice of "Hymn to a Sunday Evening"; but not as Henry McAffee, Bob will be playing and singing as Robert Capano, show-stealing featured supporting actor.....

Wait a minute, that last comment above said that Bob Capano was the "...talk of the town." --- I thought they said "The Toast of the Town."

    --- Never mind !!!

TO: "ANONYMOUS SAID... AT 11:59 AM" & "... AT 3:02 PM"

PLEASE EXPLAIN TO ME: BY USE OF WHAT CALCULUS OR OTHER HIGH-END MATH YOU FIGURED OUT THAT BOB CAPANO WAS INSTRUMENTAL IN Q'S WINNING THE PRIMARY.....

AND BY WHAT FORMULA, ALGORITHM, OR MISAPPLICATION OF REDUCTIONIST REASONING DO YOU ARRIVE AT THE NOTION THAT BOB'S THIRD PARTY RUN ON THE REFORM LINE WILL LEAD TO Q'S DEFEATING JUSTIN BRANNAN ?????

Do you really believe that any universe of Bob Capano voters would break overwhelmingly for whatever anti-Q candidate is in the race ?????

Or to put it another way, do you think that the 15% or so of Republican voters that voted for Bob Capano in the primary would largely vote for Justin Brannan if Bob Capano's name weren't on the ballot ????? I have to say that, other than myself, I can't think of one.....

SEE WHAT I DID THERE ?????
