Kentucky Senator glibly announces — “Oh, she’s going down !”
The libertarian Republican "unveiled" his opposition to Lynch on Fox News’ Greta Van Susteren program, “On The Record”
OF PARTICULAR INTEREST to many who follow THIS BLOG: Senator Paul specifically cited Loretta Lynch’s position on CIVIL FORFEITURES — saying THAT ISSUE ALONE WOULD HAVE BEEN ENOUGH FOR HIM TO OPPOSE LYNCH’S NOMINATION
Early on Wednesday, Sen. Rand Paul said that he would will oppose the nomination of U.S. Attorney Loretta Lynch to replace Eric Holder as Attorney General of the United States. The Kentucky Republican then said that he would very publicly detail his opposition to Lynch later on Greta Van Susteren’s “On The Record” program on Fox News on Wednesday evening.
BREITBART CORRESPONDENT REPORTS ON FULL STAFF BRIEFING OF RAND PAUL BEFORE HIS FORMAL ANNOUNCEMENT OF HIS OPPOSITION TO LYNCH AS U.S.A.G. ON WEDNESDAY’S “GRETA ... ON THE RECORD”
Earlier Wednesday, in his office in the Russell Senate Office Building on Capitol Hill, Breitbart News watched as the senator’s legal and press team briefed him final time before the Van Susterin interview. Sergio Gor, Paul’s communications director, his press secretary Eleanor May and attorney Brian Darling were all present ( See “‘OH, SHE’S GOING DOWN’: RAND PAUL COMES OUT SWINGING AGAINST LORETTA LYNCH’S NOMINATION” by Matthew Boyle, 2/4/15, Breitbart News [http://www.breitbart.com/big-government/2015/02/04/oh-shes-going-down-rand-paul-comes-out-swinging-against-loretta-lynchs-nomination/]).LYNCH’S SUPPORT OF OBAMA’S UNCONSTITUTIONAL AMNESTY ORDER ALSO A KILLER FOR RAND PAUL
Paul said that while Lynch’s position on civil forfeitures alone would be enough for him to oppose her nomination, her position on Obama’s executive amnesty was even more troubling to him. Brietbart noted that in the past Senator Paul had said, “The separation of powers is probably the most important underpinning of our constitutional system.... If Lynch’s position is that the executive branch can write laws or amend laws, that would be a real problem with me.”I saw Senator Paul’s appearance on the Van Susteren show. Although perhaps overshadowed by a lot of questions about vaccinations, his announcement and what he said about Loretta Lynch in the interview largely tracked with what had been reported by Breitbart above; and Politico’s report based on what was in the Van Susteren interview ( See “Rand Paul to oppose Loretta Lynch for attorney general” by Mike Allen & Seung Min Kim [with Josh Gerstein], 2/4/15, Politico [http://www.politico.com/story/2015/02/rand-paul-to-oppose-loretta-lynch-114922.html]).
Also, according to the article in Politico — “A vote on Lynch in the Judiciary Committee isn’t expected until at least the last week of February, which would put her on the Senate floor in early March.”

This is very interesting. If the Senate follows the money trail a can of worms will be opened. Lynch was the top earner on asset forfeiture.
