In an act that rises to the level of political malpractice, Craig Eaton’s Brooklyn GOP Blogs are “Dead Silent” about “The Biggest Thing” so far for Republican Party in the 2012 Campaign

Republican Candidate Mitt Romney’s tremendous showing Wednesday evening in his first debate with President Barack Obama may turn out to be the watershed event of the 2012 Elections  —  so far the response of all three “official” blogs of the Brooklyn GOP is     >>> NOTHING ! ! ! <<<

Brooklyn Young Republican Club picks up the slack by calling for a Romney “Homerun” and then telling the tale of it when Romney delivered a smash hit when the chips were down

In his first few years as Chairman of the Kings County Republican Party, Craig Eaton apparently was determined to bring all Republican functions in Brooklyn under his personal control. In addition, by various words and deeds, Eaton actively moved to stamp out all dissent inside HIS Brooklyn GOP. Part and parcel of all that was Eaton’s effort through a few trusted insiders to set up a set of blogs officially linked to the Brooklyn GOP and Eaton.  Through virtually the same group of insiders, Chairman Eaton also worked to isolate the traditional Brooklyn Young Republican Club, which by long-time policy and practice was “independent” of the county chairman. In its place, that clique set up a small band, known as the “official” Brooklyn Young Republicans, which operates its own blog under the control of a pair of Eaton’s insiders.

None of the three, count-em three,  “ - OFFICIAL - ” Brooklyn GOP blogs has covered the Romney-Obama debate in the two days since it happened (other than the hand-full of Berardelli tweets mentioned in another post on this blog).

Romney’s showing in Wednesday’s debate was momentous for Republican activists and Republican supporters everywhere  —  even in Brooklyn.  The silence of Eaton’s Brooklyn GOP blogs is incomprehensible; and it certainly constitutes a level of political ineptitude so severe that it should be called  “malpractice”.

By contrast the Brooklyn Young Republican Club made two important posts about the debate. In the first, in advance of the debate Brooklyn Young Republican Club President Glenn Nocera properly set the stage, or should I say “play by play”.  Widely know as a baseball afficionado, Nocera stressed that in the upcoming debate, “ROMNEY NEEDS TO HIT A HOME RUN IN WEDNESDAY NIGHT’S DEBATE TO WIN THE PRESIDENCY” ( because “The outlook [won’t be] brilliant for the [Republican] nine that day...”).  The Brooklyn Young Republican Club’s  reporting in the aftermath of  the debate was by  Paul Hanson, a Member of the Board of Directors of the Brooklyn Young Republican Club.  As the title to Hanson’s post indicates, it followed through on Glenn Nocera’s baseball themed urging: “ROMNEY HITS A HOME RUN WITH THE AMERICAN PEOPLE IN WEDNESDAY NIGHT’S DEBATE.”

It’s a good thing that independent Republicans were there to pick up the slack and tell how somewhere in this Brooklyn “... the sun is shining bright, The band is playing somewhere, and somewhere hearts are light; And somewhere men are laughing...”, because our “Mighty Casey” – Mitt Romney hit his home run in the clutch, when so many thought he’d strike out.
