I JUST GOT A HOT-UNDER-THE-COLLAR E-MAIL FROM ONE OF THE CITY COUNCIL CANDIDATES THAT POSITIVELY SEEMS TO BE IRATE AFTER SEEING A RATHER PRO-LIAM MC CABE ARTICLE IN THE BROOKLYN DAILY EAGLE
"BUBBLE, BUBBLE TOIL AND TROUBLE..." --- IS THIS A TEMPEST IN A TEA POT ? ? ? --- OR --- IS THERE SOMETHING TOXIC REALLY BREWING ? ? ?
WELL, OUR "SNOW WHITE" CANDIDATE HAS ALREADY BITTEN FROM THE UBER-APPLE FOR CAMPAIGN PURPOSES, IT SEEMS --- LET'S SEE WHAT HAPPENS NEXT (YES, THAT'S CALLED A MIXED METAPHOR, JUST GO WITH IT)
Here's the start of Paula Katinas' article for the Brooklyn Eagle --- it tells the basic story up front, in good inverted pyramid style --- "Monday marked the first work day that R-train riders could not catch the train at the Bay Ridge Avenue station due to the closure of the subway stop, and the disruption in their daily routine made riders angry and confused.... MTA, which is renovating the subway stop under its Enhanced Station Initiative, is closing the station for six months. The agency opted not to provide shuttle bus service so that passengers would be able to get on the R train at the 77th Street or 59th Street stations.... In an effort to fill that void, a Bay Ridge City Council candidate decided to get behind the wheel of his car and offer free rides to passengers from the station at Bay Ridge Avenue and Fourth Avenue to the next station at 59th Street and Fourth Avenue during the morning rush hour on Monday.... Don't jump to conclusions who this unhappy adversary to Liam McCabe might be..... SEVERAL of the current crop of Democrat and Republican challengers for the 43rd Counc. Dist. seat, now held by the Hon. Vincent Gentile, have been known to E-mail me (and even occasionally placing a telephone call, using unrecognizable voices to throw me off the scent)..... But, enough of that for now.....
WHAT HAS THIS OTHER CANDIDATE SO BENT OUT OF SHAPE --- APART FROM THE OBVIOUS GOOD PRESS FOR A COMPETITOR LIKE "LIAM"
Well, according City Council Candidate "X": "This can't be [fitting and proper] with the Campaign Finance Board. Liam using his corporate TLC Uber car to give people free rides for political favors? Yikes!... 'City Council candidate gives R train passengers a lift....'..."Well, now, maybe City Council Candidate "X" does have a point..... Then again, maybe NOT.....
Maybe, this'll get even more interesting as the time goes by --- and the wicked Queen looks into the looking-glass and says, "Mirror, Mirror on the wall, who's the fairest of them all... me or Liam ? ..."
