Kassar is up to one of his old tricks in Saratoga, NY --- going way back to "Old Man" Kassar's younger days at then-Brooklyn Conservative Party Chairman Mike Long's knee

A recent Albany Times-Union article:  "Saratoga County Conservative chair schedules hearing to oust 'disloyal' members  ---  David F. Buchyn sent letters to party members saying it has 'been alleged that you have engaged in acts that are disloyal'..." was very detailed about Kassar's current involvment in a very disturbing matter having to do with the deals  and "no deals" when it comes to picking judges upstate, particularly in Republican controlled areas

As a little background, there are about 3,200 residents of Saratoga County that are listed as “active” registered Conservative Party-affiliated voters. A few dozen of those good folks were recently notified by mail that they had to appear last Saturday at the La Quinta Inn & Suites in Clifton Park  >>>  at what the Albany Times-Union described as a "loyalty tribunal"  ---  and others involved referred to as a "kangaroo court"

According to a later Albany Times-Union Editorial, the unelected, Jarry Kassar-appointed Saratoga County Conservative Party Chairman Buchyn’s notification letters to the accused Conservative Party membership was something  >>>  "...[S]traight out of a Mad Magazine parody of Franz Kafka’s 'The Trial,' in which [Kafka's main protagonist] poor Joseph K spends the entire novel trying to figure out what he has been accused of, and by whom....."

Here's what Kassar's toady Buchyn wrote in his notice letter, among a few other things of lesser import:  “Please take notice that a complaint has been received alleging that your views and actions are not in sympathy with the principles of the Saratoga County Conservative Party.... [Chairman Buchyn then wrote] Further it has also been alleged that you have engaged in acts that are disloyal to the Saratoga County Conservative Party....”

Here's where the Albany Times-Union has gotten so far in its expose of the Kassar-Buchyn attempts to "purge" certain disloyal members:

"It is unclear what the next steps in Mr. Buchyn’s purity campaign might be. It takes a state Supreme Court judge to de-register anyone from a political party — a mechanism that exists to stop larger parties from taking over smaller ones in an effort to win their ballot lines. The flip side of this peril is the continued existence of [third] parties that are so decrepit in their leadership structures that a few bosses [like Kassar and his cronies] can hand those lines to favored candidates with precious little involvement of a county-level rank-and-file too small to fill a school gymnasium (although they might be able to pack a conference room at a local chain hotel)....."

In all of its reporting and editorializing, the Albany TImes-Union missed a very big chunk of relevant and related Kassar and Brooklyn Conservative Party history  ---  Kassar and Mike Long pulled the exact same trick on fellow Conservatives many years ago when they attempted to oust  a "disloyal" group of Conservative Party members from the 49th AD and several other neighboring districts.....

Many statewide Republican and Conservative Party leaders and activists have seen all of this unfold  ---  and their intitial responses are a mixture of distress, outrage, and oddly, a bit of schadenfreude amusement that Kassar needs to fight off this Conservative Party insurgency in his upstate ranks.

Maybe, we'll have some more to say about the long ago Brooklyn stuff after others have had their chance to chime in, or give us the berries for exposing one of Brooklyn's legendary scheming intriguers, and his underhanded practices, techniques, and methodologies as they are now being applied up in Saratoga.

  1. Saratoga county registration is 36% Republican and 29% Democrat with Conservatives keeping the Democrats in power.

  2. Gail. what about Kassar's connections to NYSAG Letitia James? You need to talk about that.

Kassar has deals with Democrats all over the place, Brooklyn and Westchester are at the top of the list; and now it looks like Saratoga too.

  3. Galewyn Massey never tells the whole story, and half the time, half of what he says is wrong; so, you do the math.

This business about Saratoga County's Conservative Party and this drone Buchyn doing his business with and for Kassar is just the tip of the iceberg upstate at least in the 4th Judicial District, which is 11 counties all tolled.

Here's what's been going on up there with the Conservative Party for quite a while. Most of the time, about a dozen Conservative Party delegates from across the eleven counties of the Fourth Judicial District gathered at some motel like the Holiday Inn Express just off the Northway to select who they want to be their nominees for that election cycle for the NYS Supreme Court in those eleven far upstate counties. What they decide is who will get the Conservative Party's coveted nominations for judgeships on each year's November's ballot. What is at stake are the biggest political plums for Republican's upstate, the 14-year Supreme Court terms that are among the most sought-after judicial posts in New York State.

Most of the time, third-party ballot lines are not considered a necessary path to victory in most areas of New York State. But in the 11-county 4th Judicial District, where for decades judicial candidates whose names appeared on the Conservative line have rarely lost, the Conservative's small judicial political convention usually is one of the most crucial turning points for any candidates vying for the Supreme Court positions, be they Repubicans or Democrats, or lately even a father-and-son team of hooked-up Conservative Party lawyers.

But that's not the real corrupt part. No, it's the political horse-trading for the Conservative ballot line. That jockeying has usually has been polluted by backroom deals and the real perception that hiring preferred political consultants recommended by influential Conservative bosses is the only way to win.

That is exactly what Kassar has imported into Brooklyn for all elective offices that are woth anything ever since Craig Eaton has been out as GOP Chairman; and the name Liam McCabe almost comes to mind immediately and automatically, along with that longtime grass-eater and beak-wetter, the BRM catering hall guy, MJG. However, the real political beneficiaries over the years have been Democrats like Bill Colton and Peter Abbate.

  10. RESPONSE: THE "ANXIOUS AND PARANOID COMMENTER FOLLOWING A LITTLE 4.8 TREMOR" EDITION"

TO: "ANONYMOUS SAID... AT 8:44 AM"

RUMBLE-RUMBLE-RUMBLE (OMG, THE SKY IS FALLING --- THE SKY IS FALLING !!!) QUICK, SAY SOMETHING BAD ABOUT CRAIG EATON.....

It seems like you always go for your favorite chew toy when the anxieties and paranoid impulses that engulf your very being for being in the Kassar, Golden, and now Barsamian orbit become unbearable. Or maybe, it is something more akin to Captain Queeg's jiggling his ball bearings. WHATEVER !!! IT'S JUST SO OBVIOUS.....

We here at this independent Republican blog for Brooklyn and Staten Island are just recounting a bit of relevant news that came out of a few items in the Albany newspaper of record, the ATU, that seemed to have relevance to the shady stuff and shifty folks here in Brooklyn and Staten Island.

And Spargo is just somebody who really used to be a very big "somebody" --- who knows that putting this kind of spotlight on Kassar is something that is very, very bad for Kassar; especially. if the other bad guys choose to resort to "lawfare".

  14. How is Kassar tied directly to the corruption in th Brooklyn Courthouse?

Does the name Matt D'Emic top the list of suspects as one of Kassar's agents?

He was specifically mentioned by a very corrupt Democrat Civil Court Judge, now serving as an "acting" Supreme Court Justice under D'Emic in the Brooklyn Supreme Court.

  15. Matt "smiling Matt" D'emic was a McGovern Delegate in 1972.
Then his entire family became conservative party members in 1995 and Gov Pataki made smiling Matt a Judge. The rest is spread around.
