Why are Jessica Scarcella-Spanton and Ari Kagan still working together like they are in the same political party and have similar positions on key issues

This is a little odd, but it seems that North Shore Staten Island and Graves End-Coney Island Democrat State Senator Jessica Scarcella-Spanton might not have gotten the word that Ari Kagan is no longer the Democrat City Councilman representing the part of Brooklyn that is within her state senate district.....

How else might one explain how she seems to be co-sponsoring events with Ari Kagan ???

One would expect that their differences on key issues, now that Kagan says he is a Republican, would preclude any practical cooperation on any legislative agenda ---  and, especially now that Councilman Justin Brannan is overwhelming better able to work on things for State Senator Scarcella-Spanton in the NYC Council, the new state senator's poking at him might not be the smartest move

Contrariwise, Republicans like Joseph Tirone would seem to be more than a little put out by his recently converted co-partisan Ari  ---  because Tirone was only very narrowly defeated by J S-S in the 2022 election just past  ---  and the highly competitive make up of the Staten Island-Brooklyn state senate district would make any strong evidence of Jessica's bi-partisanship with a Republican City Councilman like Ari would make her much tougher to beat in 2024

So, the way things stand, Jessoca Scarcella-Spanton doing any common events with Ari Kagan, and vice versa, would appear to be problematic for both, from the POVs of others in their respective parties. At very least, Ari and Jessica should have some splainin' to do around their respective Republican and Democrat campfires, about their being together lately, and whether that means some coochee-coochee is going on with somebody on the other side.

  1. Why the surprise? Jessica was never a defunder.

  2. That isn't a relevant argument or observation. This is a very simple Democrat=Republican partisanship issue at this point.

Is Ari Kagan the kind of "Republican" converso that is wiiling to help a Democrat against a strong Republican-Conservative like Joe Tirone in a competitive district that is partly in Brooklyn?

And is Jessica Scarcella-Spanton a Democrat that is wiiling to help a Democrat defector running as a Republican-Conservative against a popular and influential Democrat incumbent like Justin Brannan in a competitive district that overlaps the part of the Sarcella-Spanton state senate seat that is in Brooklyn?

  3. UPDATE & BACKFILL: THE "ON THE ANNA BELFIORE-DELFAUS FRONT" EDITION

ANNA BELFIORE-DELFAUS ADMITS THAT SHE IS A STALKING HORSE CANDIDATE FOR THE INNA VERNIKOV MACHINE'S OPPOSITION TO AWARDING THE GOP CANDIDACY FOR THE 47TH COUNCIL DISTRICT TO ARI KAGAN

THE SEMBLANCE OF A BROOKLYN CAMPAIGN IS STILL BEING FOISTED ON THE BROOKLYN GOP BY STATEN ISLANDER ANNA BELFIORE-DELFAUS [WITH A FABRICATED BROOKLYN ADDRESS TO SKIRT NYC BD. OF ED. RULES] AND HER MOSTLY OUT-OF-47TH-COUNCIL-DISTRICT FRIENDS IN THE INNA VERNIKOV MIXED BAG OF MOSTLY OUT-OF-DISTRICT REPUBLICANS AND NON-REPUBLICANS

JUST A FEW HOURS AGO, ANNA B-D RE-POSTED THIS TWEET ON HER META-FB CAMPAIGN PAGE:

"Anna Belfiore-Delfaus for NYC City Council... Sunday, February 26, 2023 at 8:43 PM...

'David Kelsey@TheKvetcher... BREAKING: Was at a Republican bagel brunch today. I was allowed in even though I am currently registered Uniparty. At said breakfast... @InnaVernikov introduced @AnnaBD4NYC... as the Republican "candidate for District 47" for @NYCCouncil... Why this matters: Even though Ari Kagan switched to run as a Republican, with Inna backing Anna Belfiore-Delfaus, Ari's position is now being seriously contested.... My position (not that you asked): I knew Ari as a young man and like and respect him, even if we may disagree on a few issues. But I also believe in hierarchy, and do not want to ignore Inna's selection for Republican candidate in Brooklyn, or frankly, anywhere in the City. And I trust that her choice of Anna is a very solid one.... So. I will focus on other races until the Republican primary is over, and then work with the winner against Justin Brannan, who needs to start thinking about that sinecure at a Soros-funded NGO, like so many others who ran out of gas.... Anna was gracious enough to pose for this picture with me, and if you find this a little annoying and think my minor fleeting celebrity nebbisheh poster boy status has gone to my head, blame
@JuliaCarmel... and JFREJ. They did this!' ...."

  8. I finally got a good look at Newsmax contributor Nicholas Chamberas birth certificate. His real last name is Chambord. He was named after the raspberry liqueur produced in the Loire Valley of France during the late 17th century. He is a Frenchman. Not that there's anything wrong with that!

  9. Anna got as many signatures as Manalpan Mike. Zero

  10. Why not ask 'David Kelsey@TheKvetcher...'? This guy is obviously some kind of factotem in the Inna-Anna 'Uniparty'; and for some reason he believes that Inna Vernikov is now in charge of the Brooklyn GOP's selection of Republican candidates in Brooklyn.

  13. Whether it's really Chambers, Chambord, or Chambermaid, Nick whatever you call him doesn't mean anything in the Brooklyn GOP ever since Nicole kicked him to the curb so many years ago.

BTW, how's the Aviary campaign going? Some say it's for the birds, while others say it's gone to the dogs.

  18. 747, near the end of the war in Europe, when Hitler was being kept deep down in his bunker by heavy round-the-clock American and British air raids on Berlin, and the Red Army was working its way toward his final stronghold near the Reichstag, he had delusions of his armies launching massive counter-offensives on all fronts.

Avery is in much the same situation, except Avery is just starting out not finishing off, it's Brooklyn not Berlin, and Nick is there to hold his... ...hand, not Eva.

  19. Avery and Nicky Shambles are running a grift campaign with tax-payer dollars balanced on the back of Bob Cassara's social security check to run a slate against Ted the Wig

  21. It seems every year Nick comes up with his behind the scenes plans to win something but always fails..poor lad

  22. To Anna, Avery & Manalapan Mike, and all of their brave Mouseketeers:

Whether it's a Ragusa-palooza fund raiser, a "grift campaign" or a real campaign, it's all about who gets the required number of in-district Brooklyn GOP signatures, and enough qualifying donations for NYC-CFB matching funds.

And whoever succeeds in that only gets a chance to try to run the coach carrying the Man in the Iron Wig off a cliff and into the river.

As for a Republican City Council candidate to run against Brannan, how can any real Brooklyn Republican argue that Ari Kagan would be any improvement at all. By mosst measures, including political history, stands on the issues, community compatability and personality traits, he is far worse.

  23. Ari Kagan will beat justin by 7 to 9 points. Brannen is Lori Lightfoot II.

    ReplyDelete
  24. To be charitable, both your maths and your analogies are mythical puffery; and your loyaties and bona fides are at best suspect.

Ari Kagan is not a Republican with a sufficient track record and good standing to deserve any Brooklyn GOP support at this time. Only cynicism on the part of some and sheer cravenness on the part of others might be what allows him a shot at running for anything as a Republican candidate at this time.

    ReplyDelete
  25. Kagan's most recent Facebook postings show that he hasn't changed one bit from being an unreconstructed opportunist DEMOCRAT City Councilman.

He is also a lying hypocrite about why a City Council Committee didn't get responsive testimony from the NYC DOB about a gas explosion at a Gravesend location last year. His staff either dropped the ball or was somehow excluded from the process, and then Ari tried to make it into a gotcha moment.

  26. Ted is backing Ari and thats all that counts. Not long ago comments came at a frenetic pace about Teds poor judgment regarding Assemblyman Chang.

Chang runs and spends $11,000 to win.

Abbate runs and spends $300,000 to lose.

    Results matter.

  28. RESPONSE: THE "IT'S TIME TO STOP LOOKING THE OTHER WAY BECAUSE THE CRIME IS COMMITTED BY SOMEBODY WHO CLAIMS TO BE A 'VICTIM' OF RACIAL DISCRIMINATION" EDITION

TO: "ANONYMOUS SAID... AT 1:40 PM"

AS REPUBLICANS AND AMERICANS, WE NEED TO ASSERT THE SAME RULES NEED TO APPLY EQUALLY ACROSS THE BOARD REGARDLESS OF RACE --- NOT LOOKING AT RACE-BASED BAIL FREE ARRAIGNMENTS BEFORE TRIAL, AND SAYING THAT'S BAD --- BUT LOOKING AT A CONSTITUTIONALLY UNQUALIFIED PERSON TAKING A NYS LEGISLATIVE SEAT FOR EQUALLY RACE-BASED REASONS AND SAYING THAT'S A GOOD THING

Lester Chang was chosen to run only because he was Chinese. Candidate Chang was not properly vetted and his residency was patently not properly established in Brooklyn; Assemblyman Chang is illegaly seated in the NYS Legislature; and everything about Chang is a temporary mirage.

The facts are these: Abbate took his eye off the ball, and spent a lot of his $$$$ to pull out a Chinese vote to elect State Senator Iwen Chu. Both of the It-lows in the races in the 17th SD and in the 49th AD, La Bella and Abbate respectively, narrowly lost to a pair of Chinese candidates, one a Democrat and the other a Republican, in significantly Chinese majority districts.

The last I looked, Ari Kagan is a lot closer to being a Russian oligarch than he is to being a Chinese electric bicycle delivery boy. Therefore, anything that comes out your pie hole about Ted Ghorra and Lester Chang has nothing to do with what Ghorra is doing under extreme duress vis a vis Ari Kagan (lots of important Brooklyn GOP types still hate any kind of pro-Kagan move). But Ghorra is a master at keeping lots of things "under the rug" --- himself included.

  29. RESPONSE TO THE "ARI KAGAN AS AN OPPORTUNIST" THING: THE "HOW DARE YOU BRING UP SUPPORTING THE 2021 NYC BUDGET [PASSED IN 2020]** AS A BAD THING --- AND AT THE SAME TIME SHOW YOUR SUPPORT FOR KAGAN AS A REPUBLICAN CITY COUNCIL CANDIDATE ???" EDITION
    _______________________

** AND PLEASE, STOP CALLING IT THE "2020 BUDGET"
    _______________________

TO: "ANONYMOUS SAID... AT 3:25 PM"

DON'T WE ALL HAVE TO ASSUME THAT BOTH DEMOCRATS AT THE TIME >>> ARI KAGAN & JUSTIN BRANNAN <<< SUPPORTED THE 2021 NYC BUDGET FOR ABOUT THE SAME REASONS

BRANNAN NEVER SAID THAT HE DIDN'T SUPPORT THAT 2021 BUDGET --- HOWEVER, THE DIFFERENCE IS THIS --- ARI KAGAN BRAGGED ABOUT HIS PART IN THE 2020 PROCESS TO GET THAT BUDGET --- AND --- THE DIVERSION OF FUNDS FROM THE NYPD TO THE NYC BD. OF ED. CONTAINED IN THAT BUDGET [KAGAN DID THAT AS A TOP DEMOCRAT STAFFER TO COUNCILMAN TREYGER, WHO PUSHED FOR THE FUNDS TO GO TO THE BD. OF ED., AND THEN VOTED FOR THAT 2021 BUDGET; KAGAN DID IT AGAIN AS A DEMOCRAT CANDIDATE RUNNING FOR TREYGER'S SEAT; AND KAGAN EVEN DID IT FOR A WHILE AFTER HE'D BEEN ELECTED TO REPLACE TREYGER]

Ari Kagan's whole attempt to re-brand himself as a Republican is rank opportunism --- and that includes his trying to hide his part in the whole "Defund the Police" and move those funds elsewhere operation that went on during the 2020 negotiations on the 2021 budget.
