The SCOTUS is about to reconsider an application to hear a lawsuit naming President Biden, Vice President Kamala Harris, and naming and alleging that former Vice President Mike Pence, 291 House members, and 94 senators violated their oaths of office by refusing to investigate evidence of fraud in the 2020 election before certifying Biden as the victor on Jan. 6, 2021, thus allowing for Biden and Harris to be "fraudulently" inaugurated as President and Vice President.....
Chances of any success by the moving petitioner to have the matter reconsidered are quite remote --- this particular litigation has gotten no traction whatsoever at the U.S. Supreme Court, the Federal Court of Appeals, the Federal District Court, and in the state courts in Utah
The named plaintiff in the case is Raland J. Brunson, and among other relief, he is seeking the removal from office of those who committed breaches of their duty by failing to investigate open disputes prior to certifying the vote of Presidential Electors on January 6, 2021 -- questions related to the selection of electors prior to January 6, 2021, and a variety of alleged fraudulent acts and conduct by many prior to and during the 2020 presidential election.
Last month the Court had declined to hear the case, but Brunson filed a petition for reconsideration --- and the Supreme Court has scheduled a private conference for a review of that petition. Four of the nine justices must vote in favor of granting the petition to review for any additional briefs or hearings to be scheduled.
Part of the factual claims presented to the High Court is that a total of 147 Republican Members of Congress had objected to the certification of the election results favoring Biden and Harris, after several Senators and Congressmen had requested and were refused an "emergency audit" of the 2020 presidential election results for several disputed states.
why is justin running on the WFP line if hes not a defunder
ReplyDeleteWhat makes you think that Brannan will be on the WFP line in 2023 now that he has broken from the Progressive Caucus?
ReplyDeleteDon Lemmon was a defunder. Look what happened to him.
ReplyDeleteAri Kagan and the Brooklyn GOP do have a lot wo worry about because of Kagan's clearly asserted and strongly held "Defund the police" positions in 2020 and 2021, and his work on the "defund the police" 2021 NYC budget for one of its architects, Mark Treyger.
ReplyDeletestrongly held positions are different than justin voting to defund the police by 1 billion dollars in 2020.
ReplyDeleteAri is the true progressive in the race! Just look at his voting record! He voted 99% with the progressive caucus!
ReplyDeleteI think most voters know the GOP supports the NYPD.
ReplyDeleteAri's strongly held positions are different than Ari's boss Mark Treyger working hard to defund the police by 1 billion dollars in 2020, voting for that in the 2021 NYC Budget, and then bragging about all that he accomplished with the NYPD funds diverted to the NYC Bd, of Ed. for 2021.
ReplyDeleteMeanwhile Ari defended and claimed credit for what his boss Treyger did to defund the police during 2020 throughout his campaign for Treyger's seat in 2021 and even during his time as Councilman through most of 2022.
528, if 'most voters know the GOP supports the NYPD' then most voters would be very wrong.
ReplyDeleteNeither in city government in NYC nor state government in Albany do Republicans have very much to do with supporting the NYPD, and nothing at all without overwhelming Democrat support. Both in NYC and in Albany ALL of the financial support for the NYPD depends on the votes of Democrats like Councilmen like Justin Brannan and state legislators like Andrew Gounardes.
What the voters really need to know is that Republicans can only talk a good game, when most of the time they don't even have a seat at the table, much less any skin in the game.
Now that Ari is a Republican, he only has a seat at the kiddy table, where he will only be allowed to play 'Go Fish' but not be allowed to touch any cards.
So justin was in the progressive caucus for 5 years and he didnt vote to defund the police? Something not adding up about that.
ReplyDelete842, keep counting on your fingers and toes, you'll get it right some day. Hint - the correct answer is Brannan never voted to defund the police. Brannan supports the police and the police support him.
ReplyDeleteAs for the 'Progressive Caucus' and WFP stuff, that's Brannan being better at NYC Democrat politics than anybody in the Brooklyn GOP is at Republican-Conservative politics. That's why you don't recognize or understand it.
Brooklyn GOP politics is easy, just do everything that Kassar says.
ReplyDeleteRight up to today, Kassar would rather bash Andrew Cuomo years afterward than doing anything relevant to what is happening now.
ReplyDeleteThe reason is simple, Cuomo often dealt with Mike Long and never with Jerry Kassar, and Kassar still can't stand that.
Brannen voted for the 2020 budget that cut police funding by 20%.
ReplyDeleteIt looks like the Atlanta DA is going to indict Trump. For better or worse that will probably end it for Trump.
ReplyDeleteRESPONSE: THE "STOP WITH THE >>> LIES <<< ABOUT BRANNAN DEFUNDING THE POLICE" EDITION
ReplyDeleteTO: "ANONYMOUS SAID... AT 2:52 PM"
YOU DO REALLY NEED TO STOP LYING ABOUT THIS >>> BECAUSE THE FACTS HAVE ALWAYS BEEN THERE TO KEEP KICKING YOU IN THE ASS WHEN YOU KEEP LYING LIKE THIS
IN 2020 BRANNAN VOTED FOR A NYC 2021 BUDGET THAT CUT ALL CITY AGENCIES BECAUSE OF REVENUE SHORT FALLS DUE TO COVID --- THE OVERALL CUTS WERE MANDATED BECAUSE THE LAW REQUIRED THAT THE 2021 NYC BUDGET FORMALLY APPEAR TO HAVE BEEN IN BALANCE
THE "DEFUND THE POLICE" TYPES DID CALL FOR A 20% CUT IN POLICE FUNDING FOR 2021 OR THE HARD-DOLLAR FIGURE OF $1 BILLION --- BRANNAN NEVER SUPPORTED THAT, NEVER CALLED FOR THAT, AND/OR NEVER VOTED FOR THAT
Actually, the budgetary cuts to the NYPD weren't even close to 20% in the >>> 2021 <<< budget which was passed in 2020.
The Budget adopted for Fiscal Year 2021 appropriated $10.2 billion in City funds to the NYPD—an operating budget of $4.9 billion and central expenses of $5.3 billion. The NYPD City-funded operating budget was projected to decrease by $345 million, or 6.6 percent, from fiscal year 2020, and those were the only NYPD allocated cuts, however ABC News reported that if all police expendidtures were included, the City's spending on the NYPD during 2021 would only have declined by 2.9%.
This had been widely reported in 2020 and 2021, and often repeated on this blog >>> so, you have no excuse for your continued >>> lying <<< about it.
Besides, this year's GOP candidate against Brannan, Ari Kagan, helped engineer the biggest chunk of those cuts in 2020; and for well over a year Ari Kagan and his boss Mark Treyger bragged about how they had mad those cuts and diverted the money elsewhere. Ari Kagan even strongly defended what he did WRT the 2021 cuts to the NYPD budget in his 2021 campaigns against Alec Brook-Krasny and Mark Szuskiewicz.
520, the only place where it might be that "[i]t looks like the Atlanta DA is going to indict Trump...." is if you or somebody like you took a colonoscopy or other proctological scoping exam, and you were able to look very far up your own ass. It seems that Trunp derangement syndrome is caused by scorpion like bugs that grab on tight very high in the colons of hard-core Dems and opinionators at the NY Times.
ReplyDeleteFor most unafflicted people looking at the same news you are, it could very easily be concluded that "... [f]or better or worse that will probably end [the Grand Jury problems in Georgia] for Trump.
This will be the 4th district Ari has run in over the past 10 years.
ReplyDelete"Claims like those" "is again being put"?
ReplyDelete"THE "DEFUND THE POLICE" TYPES DID CALL FOR A 20% CUT IN POLICE FUNDING FOR 2021 OR THE HARD-DOLLAR FIGURE OF $1 BILLION --- BRANNAN NEVER SUPPORTED THAT, NEVER CALLED FOR THAT, AND/OR NEVER VOTED FOR THAT"
ReplyDeleteYup, that's correct.
RESPONSE: THE "THANKS --- WE NEEDED THAT !!!" EDITION
ReplyDeleteTO: "ANONYMOUS SAID... AT 12:55 AM"
WHEN IT COMES TO "CLAIMS" --- SINCE "ARE" IS WHAT'S CALLED FOR --- IT'S NOW "ARE" & IT ISN'T "IS" ANY LONGER
You are obviously a follower of Lindley Murray, and a worthy keeper of his flame.
If Liam wants to run he can and will
ReplyDeleteWall to wall coverage of Boss Brannan leaving the crazy Council "Progressive Caucus" because he was not willing to sign a pledge to fire cops. This is why Boss Brannan plays chess and the others play checkers.
ReplyDeleteBrannen didnt vote to defund the police in 2021 because he realized his dellusions of becoming speaker were gone. Plus Fox put him in his place. In 2020 Brannen did vote to defund the police by 1 billion dollars. Now Brannen claims the election had nothing to do with resigning from caucus. It all sounds like self service over public service.
ReplyDeleteMeanwhile Ari Kagan keeps doing social media postings about all his Coney Island-West End stuff; and in almost all of it, he thanks Jeannine Cherichetti.....
ReplyDeleteWHY ISN'T JEANNINE CHERICHETTI THE BROOKLYN GOP CANDIDATE AGAINST BRANNAN >>> SHE WALKS THE WALK AND DOES THE HEAVY LIFTING --- PLUS SHE HAS A BIG ETHNIC ADVANTAGE OVER THIS FORMER SOVIET UNION DROP-OUT, OLIGARCH IN SHEEP'S CLOTHING ARI KAGAN
1045, your lies have been completely debunked over, and over, and over again. Nonetheless, you insist on showing yourself to be an invincibly ignorant pathological liar. Unless you ARE Brian Fox, stop playing this Brian Fox imitation game. One of those corpulent bags of puss is more than enough.
ReplyDeleteBrannan is the shadow council speaker and the finance chair. Sounds like it all worked out for him. Avery will change that.
ReplyDeleteJustin was in the progressive caucus for 5 years. The purpose of caucus was to defund the police which happened in 2020. What lies are people talking about.
ReplyDeleteCrime is down and justin didnt vote to defund the police. I'm sure people will believe that.
ReplyDeleteNick Chamberas wins against all comers..
ReplyDeleteThis is the 5th district justin has run in the last 10 years.
ReplyDelete1231, stop lying. The NYC police were not "defunded" or even close to "defunded" in 2020 or 2021.
ReplyDeleteThe NYPD budgets for 2019, 2020, 2021, and ever since have exceeded 10 billion dollars per year. That is by nobody's measure any kind of "defunding."
After FY2021, police bugets in NYC have been increasing. For example, last year [June 2022], in a budget process participated-in by Justion Brannan, New York City encated its FY2023 city budget --- that budget diverted no funds from the NYPD into community services and other social supports. During 2023, total NYPD spending will exceed $11 billion, the largest police budget ever and the largest in the country.
Isn't Justin Brannan the Finance Committee Chairman? Didn't the NYPD get more money than ever last year? Yes I thought so
ReplyDeleteDonald is a rotting albatross.
ReplyDeleteNot bc of age: You/we can be sharp smart agile adept 'way "older."
But bc he's stuck on stupid + Me.
"The NYC police were not 'defunded' or even close to 'defunded' in 2020 or 2021"
ReplyDeleteEntirely correct. But feeling-based wackaroos don't care.
Its Presidents Day. Out of respect for Chairperson Ghorra I will abstain from comments.
ReplyDelete933, is this some kind of trick?
ReplyDeleteYou just made a comment. That doesn't show much respect for Chpsn Mr. G, aka 'The man in the Iron Wig'.
I ran into Avery last night on 3rd Avenue. He was just mumbling to himself something about Justin Brannan. The kid is obsessed. Reminds me of John Quaglione just after he lost when he would walk aimlessly down 5th Avenue mumbling to himself
ReplyDeleteWell, 1003, speaking of Avery, the 47th Counc. Dist. run by Avery P. is a bit of a scam that he cooked up with Nick Chambermaid. What it's really all about is trying to get a full slate of County Committee in the 47th district as part of a County Chairman campaign against 'The Man in the Iron Wig'; and possibly even qualify for some matching funds to pay for the whole effort. They'll need to thread some big heavy thread through a very tiny small guage needle to get that done and keep it all legal. People are already onto the Avery and Nick against the world game; and those folks are watching closely and ready to pounce. Maybe, that was what was on Avery's mind, when you caught him mumbling to himself; partnering up with Nick Chambermaid will do that to somebody as sensitive as Avery P.
ReplyDeleteDom Lemon is gone. Anything is possible.
ReplyDeleteUPDATE; BACKFILL & MISCELLANY: THE "DAVID SOARES" EDITION
ReplyDeleteVITO LA BELLA HAS TAKEN IT UPON HIS OWN TOOT TO HOLD DAVID SOARES UP AS A GOOD EXAMPLE OF SOMETHING BY LINKING TO SOME NY POST PUFFERY ABOUT ALBANY DA DAVID SOARES AND "BAIL REFORM" --- ETC.....
MEANWHILE DA SOARES HAS CHOSEN TO LET SOMEBODY LIKE PETER ABBATE'S [FORMER] TOP AIDE JOSEPH BRADY VIRTUALLY WALK FREE ON A SERIES OF BAD ACTS THAT INCLUDED: MURDER, KIDNAPPING, RAPE, ASSAULT, MENACING. AND JUST NOT BEING VERY NICE TO ONE'S FELLOW MAN..... AFTER A VERY BIG ROLL-OUT ON SOME VERY HEAVY CHARGES ABOUT TWO OR THREE YEARS AGO
We can't give either LaBella or the Post any kudos for consistency here.....
1213: "Brannan never voted to defund the police. Brannan supports the police and the police support him."
ReplyDeleteExactly.
6:47 "1231, stop lying. The NYC police were not 'defunded' or even close to 'defunded' in 2020 or 2021.
ReplyDelete"The NYPD budgets for 2019, 2020, 2021, and ever since have exceeded 10 billion dollars per year. That is by nobody's measure any kind of 'defunding.'"
Yes, of course, and checkably true.
Which doesn't matter to My-Feely/Scary-Hell wingnuts.
UPDATE; BACKFILL & MISCELLANY II: THE "DAVID SOARES REDUX" EDITION
ReplyDeleteTHE POST DECIDED TO DOUBLE-DOWN IN ITS HYPOCRICY ABOUT DAVID SOARES WITH AN EDITORIAL REPLAY --- WITH THE NY POST EDITORIAL BOARD MAKING ITS OWN HEAVY-HANDED PLAY OF THE RACE CARD --- MAKING THE FACT THAT DAVID SOARES IS "AFRICAN AMERICAN" AND WAS BEING "DISSED" BY "AFRICAN AMERICAN" LEGISLATORS IN ALBANY A KEY POINT IN THE EDITORIAL
JUST LIKE ITS ARTICLE 24 HOURS EARLIER --- THE NY POST'S EDITORIALIST(S) OVERLOOKED SOARES' SPOTTY RECORD IN PROSECUTIONS AT HOME IN ALBANY --- MOST NOTABLY WRT THE PETER ABBATE STAFFER JOSEPH BRADY LOOKING LIKE HE IS GETTING OFF SCOTT FREE AFTER SO MUCH TOUGH TALK IN THAT CASE FROM SOARES AND HIS OFFICE
The Post also missed the fact that for two days in a row >>> the so called "TESTIMONY" of Albany DA Soares contained lots of "facts and figures" about areas around NY State way off Soares' official patch in >>> Albany <<< But, instead the Albany DA talked a lot about crime stats and the non-prosecution of crimes in various parts of NY City.
Nick chambers is the new brooklyn gop power broker...eat your heart out Gale
ReplyDeleteThe Post editorial does not do much thinking.
ReplyDeleteBob Morgan is the new boss.
ReplyDeleteRESPONSE; UPDATE & BACKFILL: THE "WHAT THE POST KNOWS BUT AIN'T SAYIN' 'BOUT SOARES" EDITION
ReplyDeleteTO: "ANONYMOUS SAID... AT 9:48 AM"
WHO KNOWS WHAT THE NY POST IS "THINKING" ABOUT SOARES AND WHY.....
WHAT WE DO KNOW IS WHAT THE POST AIN'T SAYIN' OR TALKIN' ABOUT.....
The NY Post knows very well that there's a lot to look at when it comes to Albany DA David Soares. He has been outspoken in his opposition to several parts of the Democrats' agenda on crime.
His recent run-in with the NY State Senate about his scheduled and then un-scheduled testimony was foreshadowed during the 2022 campaign by some potshots that he took at NY Governor Kathy Hochul and other legislative Democrats about some of their squishy soft positions on the then-more-recent criminal "reforms" in/to the NYS criminal justice system.
On the other hand, the Joseph Brady case and its treatment by the Albany DA is not atypical of his velvet glove treatment of crimes involving certain Albany politicos and their staffs, especially Democrats. And when it came to the two recent articles about Joseph Brady by George Joseph, Soares gave that reporter a stiff-arm and cold shoulder not long before Soares was working the NY Post for some love and lollipops for Valentine's Day, and getting the big box of Russell Stover chocolates for his trouble.
Before you mention how Soares was in the middle of the Shelley Silver and Vito Lopez matters, and to a much lesser extent muddied the waters when it came to deposing Andrew Cuomo, who quit while he was facing impeachment, don't forget that the Soares' tinkering in those cases helped usher in the current more radical regime that has pushed through all the radical "criminal justice/ racial equity" reforms that he now complains about loudly in the NY Post --- about which the NY Post parrots as news, and then even more loudly with its editorial squawks.
RESPONSE ON SOME SILLY STUFF: THE "BOB MORGAN & NICK CHAMBERS" EDITION
ReplyDeleteTO THOSE WHO MIGHT HAVE MISSED THEIR MORNING COFFEE --- AND NEED TO LOOSEN THINGS UP A BIT TO STAY REGULAR.....
EVERYBODY KNOWS WHAT SILLY COMMENTS MENTIONING BOB MORGAN AND NICK THE CHAMBERMAID MEAN --- IT'S TUESDAY.....
Well, at least it's more fun than riding in a one horse open sleigh these days.
Only one GOP campaign in the 47th Council District has any energy, and that is Ari Kagan's long shot attempt to get re-elected as a Republican. If the others who declared are still in it, what are they waiting for next Christmas?
ReplyDeleteRiddle me this, Ari, if Mark Treyger wants back into the City Council, isn't his shortest route for Brannan to win in 2023 and not you?
ReplyDeleteSome people have already talked about it, and if you weren't in that conversation, then it was only them talking about it; and, Ari, you know what that means. If you don't know what it means, just ask Jeannine Cherichetti.
Nick beats Ari in a primary.
ReplyDeleteAny republican beats Brannen.
ReplyDeleteJustin will lose no matter who runs against him.
ReplyDeleteCrime will be the main issue. We know how thats going to turn out.
ReplyDeleteNick is the new boss..bye liam
ReplyDeleteNo so fast, 836!
ReplyDeleteIf 'Crime will be the main issue....' maybe, we don't know how this is really going to turn out. After all, the Republicans and Conservatives never tried to run a strong 'police defunder' candidate like Ari Kagan before.
In 2021 Kagan beat Republicans like Brook-Krasny and Szuszkiewicz while defending his part in passing the 2021 'defund the police' NYC budget, and diverting those police funds to the Board of Ed. At the time, it was reported that Kagan even went to Dewey HS during the 2021 campaign to brag about all of it.
In 2023, this might be exactly the kind of campaign that finally wins for the Brooklyn GOP and the Kassar Konservatives.
Szuszkiewicz was-is a nut.
ReplyDelete
