Yesterday we commented on this independent GOP blog for Brooklyn and Staten Island as follows ---
"RESPONSE: THE 'LET'S KEEP "FANTASYLAND" IN DISNEYWORLD AND DISNEYLAND' EDITION... TO: 'ANONYMOUS SAID AT 2:33 PM'... WE DON'T KNOW WHO THESE TWO CHUCKLEHEADS --- JON LEVINE & RICH CALDER --- MIGHT BE OR THINK THEY ARE, BUT THEY DON'T KNOW SQUAT ABOUT THE TWO NEW BROOKLYN COUNCIL DISTRICTS --- THE 43RD & 47TH --- WHICH THEY MENTIONED IN TODAY'S NY POST ARTICLE '2023 CITY COUNCIL RACES ALREADY IN FULL SWING'..." [From our comment "Galewyn Massey said... January 14, 2023 at 5:00 PM"]
Now it seems that Mike Ragusa or somebody else on his team might have tinkered with the final version of that story..... (Demonstrating how completely unauthoritative and lacking in journalistic objectivity the NY Post story, and its sourcing, investigation and editing might actually have been)
Here's the beef ---
An earlier version of the NY Post's story included a mention about Ragusa and his support from the Metropolitan GOP Club (the Manhattan GOP club with the history of connections to the Proud Boys) based on a Metro club tweet promoting Ragusa's earlier fundraiser at Ponte Vecchio (which fund raiser had previously been discussed by us on this blog).
Apparently, sometime during the editing of yesterday's NY Post story, there was some kind of intervention.
One of our sources indicated that the Metro GOP Club contacted the Post, threw Ragusa under the bus, and demanded to be removed from the story, saying that they didn't have anything to do with Ragusa's campaign and fund raiser in any way.
A more likely scenario is that it wasn't the Metropolitan GOP club who called the newspaper demanding they remove any mention of a connection between them and Ragusa's fund raiser, but it was Ragusa or somebody on his team. And the reason was that he/they was/were desperately trying to distance Ragusa and/or his campaign from the from the Metropolitan GOP club and its Proud Boys reputation, even though that club does seem to be supporting Ragusa and helping to pump up his campaign for City Council in Brooklyn.
FYI --- here is a copy of the earlier Tweet posted by the Metro GOP Club about the Ragusa fund raising event:
Join Republican candidate for City Council, South Brooklyn Mike Ragu for a fundraiser this weekend with special guests@sidrosenberg@JohnnyTabacco. It’s time to flip the city council seat RED! RSVP here... [w/link and artwork for Ragusa's 1/8/2023 fund raising event]... 2,842 Views"

"One of our sources" says Gale. Let me guess. Does the source resemble the elephant man with tattoos?
ReplyDeleteRESPONSE: THE "ONE OF OUR SOURCES..." EDITION
ReplyDeleteTO: "ANONYMOUS SAID... AT 2:11 PM"
WE DON'T BURN OUR SOURCES EXCEPT WHEN WE THINK IT MIGHT BE FUN TO WATCH THEM BURN.....
THAT ISN'T THE CASE RIGHT NOW.....
IN ANY CASE, IF YOU HAD READ OUR MAIN FEATURE ABOVE CLOSELY, YOU WOULD KNOW THAT WE REJECTED THE SCENARIO PROVIDED BY THE "ONE OF OUR SOURCES..." PART --- INSTEAD, WE WENT WITH THE "... MORE LIKELY SCENARIO..." PART --- AND FINISHED WITH OUR "... REAL NEWS STORY HERE..." CONCLUSION --- WHY NOT TRY TO GUESS WHO THAT/THOSE SOURCE(S) MIGHT HAVE BEEN ???
But thanks for playing, and your consolation prize is your own play-at-home edition of all of this falderal.....
Gale has more than one source !!! Now thats news.
ReplyDeleteDid somebody mention Gene Russo for anything relevant to Ari Kagan in 2023?
ReplyDeleteLet me call Bob DiCarlo and Bob Whalen, and see what they might have to say about Ari Kagan.
"desperately trying to distance Ragusa and/or his campaign from the from the Metropolitan GOP club and its Proud Boys reputation" ... and from Ragusa's unscrubbed past social-media posts.
ReplyDeletejustin qualifies as a double source because he takes up 2 seats on a bus
ReplyDeleteRagusa is trying to whitewash his Proud Boys past. Even Sid rosenberg knows he can't win
ReplyDeleteUPDATE & BACKFILL: THE "VITO LA BELLA SEEMED TO LIKE THE POST ARTICLE BY LEVINE & CALDER" EDITION
ReplyDeleteTHE NITWIT FORMER STATE SENATE CANDIDATE POSTED A LINK TO THE NY POST ARTICLE THAT MET WITH OUR EXTREME DISFAVOR
ONE OF THE THINGS THAT IT PROVES IS THAT VITO LA BELLA KNOWS MORE ABOUT LANDSCAPING ON CAPE COD THAN HE DOES ABOUT BROOKLYN POLITICS
Why is this fellow even bothering with comments about local Brooklyn politics --- he has said that he hates being in Brooklyn.
Vito is telling people he is going to throw his hat in the ring for the 47th against Brannen
ReplyDelete1130pm, you are correct.
ReplyDelete639, Justin isn't built two-seats-wide. He's yr regular fat guy, gut but no butt, has a face + neck, and could lose the gut in 3 wks if he ate fewer calzones.
ReplyDeleteUnlike Fox, who looks like hypertension + neckless sideways-inflated airpump victim. Even my diehard Repub older neighbor ladies said that "the young man" looked unhealthy.
All justin needs to do is tell people crime is down.
ReplyDeleteVito is coming out
ReplyDeleteFalse Republican Ari Kagan is still close to Dems Colton and Treyger, and supports Dem City Council Candidate Susan Zhuang in council district 43. Real Republicns need to oppose Kagan and support Ragusa
ReplyDeleteInna was showing Anna Belfiore-Delfaus the ropes yesterday and introducing her to community big wigs. I heard Ari is in a deep depression. Ari was counting on a big early Inna endorsement. Ragusa and Avery aren't even in the conversation. It's Anna Belfiore-Delfaus for Ted all the way. She got the cash and she's got the ass.
ReplyDeleteIt's hard for me to fall asleep at night unless I've read Avery's goodnight message
ReplyDeletewhen justin loses he could work at that carnival in coney island
ReplyDeleteNo real Republican is beating Justin Brannan. It has to be a Democrat retread like Ari Kagan.
ReplyDeleteNone of rest of the GOP candidates know anything about government or politics or anything else. They probably don't know the difference between Mickey Mouse and Mickey Rooney, or which is older and shorter.
Justin Brannan needs to send Anna Belfiore-Delfaus a "Thank You" for her re-post of a 68th Pct. Facebook message showing that he has fully funded and maintained the local police in his district throughout the time he has been Councilman.
ReplyDeleteI was in line at La Bella Marketplace and thinking about how much "the neighborhood has changed" -- if you know what I mean -- and then I overheard someone say how Boss Brannan funded the cops to the tune of 12 BILLION DOLLARS last year and that there were more cops on da force now than in the past years under Marty Golden and it made me so happy I bought another pound of strolghino!
ReplyDeleteThat's only one of the reasons why in 2023 Justin Brannan is running for re-election in the almost hand-crafted 47th Counci District without any credible opposition in the Democrat Primary, or any substantial opponent on the GOP side of the ledger for the November Election.
ReplyDeleteBoss Brannan controls the docks. There ain't a single cargo ship that enters the Narrows without Brannan getting a cut. You think I'm lying? Ask around. Brannan is not beatable in an election.
ReplyDeleteThe rug-gooser keeps trying to self-promote his way into some kind of support in the Brooklyn GOP against the likes of Ari Kagan and others with superior credentials to get the GOP nomination to run against Democrat Justin Brannan in the 47th Council District.
ReplyDeleteNobody inside the boundaries of the 47th Council District seems to be very impressed by this Ragusa guy or any of what he has done so far as a prospective Republican NYC Council candidate.
Anna Belfiore-Delfaus is a polished professional and a traditional Roman Catholic. Mike Ragusa is a used car salesman addicted to Red Bull
ReplyDeleteWhat's a "traditional" Roman Catholic?
ReplyDeleteOne of those sectists who thinks that Vatican II was satanist, every pope but JPII was/is the antichrist, and God only listens to Latin?
