Lester Chang seated in NYS Assembly without objection --- Democrats say that he can be booted at any time they choose.....

The latest reports out of the Assembly are that Asemblymember Lester Chang has been sworn in and been seated at his place on the floor of the Assembly Chamber.   ---  On the other hand, Michael Whyland, a spokesperson for the Assembly Democrat supermajority, said action could still be taken to remove Assemblyman Chang in the future.

For his part, Lester Chang responded as follows after the session  >>>  “They can challenge me anytime, if they want to....  But I want to keep it civil. We have people's business to do.”

It gets curiouser and curiouser.....

Let's see what happens next...  or soon ...  or sooner or later.....

  2. BACKFILL: THE"GOP LEADER SAID SOMETHING ODD ABOUT THIS YESTERDAY" EDITION

MAKES ONE WONDER WHAT THE PLAY ON LESTER CHANG REALLY MIGHT BE BOTH NOW AND LATER --- LOOKS LIKE SOMEBODY IS LINING UP SOMETHING AND IT AIN'T GOOD FOR CHANG AND/OR THE GOP

HERE'S WHAT GOP ASSEMBLY MINORITY LEADER WILL BARCLAY SAID YESTERDAY:

“Well, I would like a decision on it, but in my mind — I'm happy he's seated.... I don't think he should be kicked out of the Assembly, but I don't want it to linger on for six months where [Democrats keep] saying, ‘Well, maybe we'll look at it. Maybe we’ll end up throwing him out.’...”

  3. Gale when you are wrong you continue to be wrong. Lester is in the Assembly and will be there as long as he wants. It's Asian rule from now on.

I can see Abbate and Brannen commiserating together one year from now.

  4. RESPONSE: THE "NY TIMES SAYS OTHERWISE" EDITION

TO: "ANONYMOUS SAID... AT 12:25 PM"

TODAY --- IN A VERY LENGTHY AND DETAILED ARTICLE ABOUT THE WHOLE LESTER CHANG "IMBROGLIO" --- THE NY TIMES SPECIFICALLY DESCRIBED MUCH OF THE MANY CONSTITUTIONAL, POLITICAL AND PROCEDURAL COMPLEXITIES OF THE MATTER OF HIS BEING AND CONTINUING TO BE AN "ELECTED" MEMBER OF THE NYS ASSEMBLY

With a strong indication that reading this independent GOP blog for Brooklyn and Staten Island was part of its research >>> the NY Times confirmed much of what we have been saying for several weeks now..... (See "Does a Newly Elected G.O.P. Assemblyman Really Live in Brooklyn? -- Lester Chang, a newly elected Republican representing a Brooklyn district, faces questions over whether he lives in the borough or in Manhattan." by Luis Ferré-Sadurní, 1/5/2023, NY Times/ New York [https://www.nytimes.com/2023/01/05/nyregion/lester-chang-assembly.html?auth=login-google1tap&login=google1tap]).
