What could possibly go wrong ?
Well, first you need to ask yourself: "What could possibly be >>> RIGHT <<< with such a race-based and race-baiting approach ???"
And then: Why are the leaders of the Brooklyn Republican and Conservative Parties all willing to sign-off on that whole race-based and race-baiting approach in 2021 ?????
Let's start with a key fact that too many folks in Brooklyn with an interest in conservative ideas have ignored for too long --- reform and/ or progressive Democrats have been winning in local elections in the former Republican stronghold of Bay Ridge, Dyker Heights, lower Bensonhurst, and Bath Beach for years.
Make no mistake, the one assembly district that tied all those neighborhoods together was once the GOP redoubt in Brooklyn (in the old days, it was the 49th AD of the GOP Seergy Club, and later the Arnaldo Ferrarro's GOP LaGuardia Club). What had been the gold-standard Republican organization in Brooklyn was wiped out by years of internal warfare, first by Bob DiCarlo, until he got run out of town, but since then, by the likes of Repubican State Senator Marty Golden and once GOP District Leader Clorinda Annarumo >>> all making dirty deals with Democrat Member of the Assembly Peter Abbate, working together and sniping at the local LaGuardia Republican club and its candidates for well over a decade, culminating in virtually destroying the very existance of the "old 49th AD" in the reapportionment almost ten years ago. (Sometimes, justice is not swift, but in this case it was certain --- in 2018, Marty Golden's defeat at the hands of the Democrats was a direct result of his strategy to destroy the existing Republican organization within the boundaries of the "old 49th AD" and replace them with his so-called "Golden loyalists."
So, what does that have to do with stuff like --- "... let's make Bay Ridge 'WHITE' again..." --- and --- "... let's take back our neighborhoods..." ? Well, that's all based on the assumptions by people like Marty Golden, and his key supporters inside the Brooklyn Republican and Conservative Parties, that places like Bay Ridge, Dyker Heights, Bath Beach and Bensonhurst had reamined "our neighborhoods" and "white" years after they had become perceptably far more multi-racial, multi-cultural, and cosmopolitan than resonably would jibe with any of the older notions of "our [white] neighborhoods," whether Scandinavian, Italian, Greek, Syrian-Christian, or latter-day intermarried and/or multi-generational Irish-American.....
In other words, the Fox Team of "consultants" and advisors are using the shibbolths and cooky-cutter words and images that might have made some sense in the 1980s, but which have had a weaker and weaker cachet anywhere in Brooklyn with each succeeding decade.
If the Brooklyn GOP wants to regain any relevance whatsover, they need to stop, look, and listen to a lot of what independent Democrat activist-consultant Gary Tilser has had to say lately --- he has looked at all of this stuff very closely --- and in almost everyway, he is way ahead of any consultants and advisors working with the GOP nowadays.
Meanwhile, running a "non-white" candidate with a race-based "pro-white" message might work in some 80% white working class community here or there, but even then it would need subtle fine-tuning to have a chance of working.
In the Brooklyn of 2021, running somebody like that wouldn't work anywhere, regardless of resources or fine-tuning --- in other words, Brian Fox was dead meat from the get-go.
Sounds like a brilliant winning strategy. Only a person of color could say what all the white people were thinking.
ReplyDeleteCan anyone tell me if Barry Manilow will be performing at Brian's fundraiser at Louie's Gyros?
ReplyDelete429, what planet are you from, some place well beyond the orbit of Uranus, I'm sure; but if it's in the orbit of Uranus, I'm sure it's from Upper Uranus.
ReplyDeleteFirst, if you're actully thinking it, which I doubt, why would you assume that it's "...what all the white people were thinking...."?
Second, and more important, why would it be okay for "... only a person of color [to] say what all the white people..." might not be able to say without being rightly labeled racists?
white people think?
ReplyDeleteLouie Prima will be headlining Fox event.
ReplyDeleteWhen I look at Brian Fox the word buffoon comes to mind almost immediately
ReplyDeleteRESPONSE: THE "MAYBE, YOU'VE GOT SOMETHING THERE" EDITION
ReplyDeleteTO: "ANONYMOUS SAID... AT 9:27 PM"
I can see it now --- instead of Louie and Keely, it'll be Louie and Arielle Scarcella, both headlining for Brian Fox's over the top "Stand Up for Brooklyn" fund raiser, now scheduled for Monday, September 13th.
Just picture the threesome of Fox, Scarcella and Prima doing this vocal:
"I'm just a gigolo and everywhere I go
People know the part I'm playing
Paid for every dance, selling each romance
Ooh, what they're saying
There will come a day and youth will pass away
What, what will they say about me
When the end comes I know there's a just a gigolo's
Life goes on without me....
I ain't got nobody
Oh and there's nobody that cares for me
There's nobody that cares for me
Nobody that cares for me
Nobody that cares for me
I ain't got nobody, nobody
Nobody that cares for me
There's nobody that cares for me
I'm so sad and lonely
Oh lonely, oh lonely
Won't some sweet mama
Come and rescue me
'Cause I ain't so bad
And I'll sing her three love songs all of the time
'Cause she will only be, only, only, only, only, only, only be my baby
Come on, sugar, darling, honey
[Incomprehensible]
And there's nobody, there's nobody
There's nobody, there's nobody
There's no one, there's no one
[Incomprehensible]
Nobody, no, no one
Nobody, nobody
Nobody, nobody
Nobody cares for me...."
At this time in 2017, there was an outside chance that the Brooklyn Brepublican and Conservative Party might elect a City Council Member from the 43rd District, but only if John Quaglione won the GOP primary and Justin Brannan lost the Democrat primary; this time around, there is no chance for the GOP to win.
ReplyDeleteOf the 2017 GOP candidates for NY City Council, only John QUaglione and Lucretia Regina-Potter have any credibility inside the Brooklyn GOP, but John, Liam, Bob and Lucretia have no footprint or standing worth tqalking about among the general population.
ReplyDeletewe all know Bob won the 2017 council race.
ReplyDeleteAndy was at Cats Hamptons bash according to Post. No word of Bob but the article did say the floors were shiney.
ReplyDelete2017 will be talked about 100 years from now
ReplyDeleteAfter listening to President Biden speak Jimmy Carter seems like the good old days.
ReplyDeleteAt this time in 2017 Bob was buying Heineken by the case.
ReplyDeleteNow a six pack will get him to that station with an elevator.
In 2017 bob pledged his support to Q. I heard it myself on primary night at the BR Manor. Bob spoke of his support for Q in November. Then Curtis and his merry band of freaks talked bob into screwing Q. Thats what 2017 was about.
ReplyDelete10;23 is that the reason Kassar picked fox over bob?
ReplyDeleteJust too many to count; mostly, for the same reasons Republicans hate Bob too. That's the real reason that neither Bob and Eaton will be back in the GOP. On that score, Kassar, Ghorra and Golden won out game, set, and match, once and for all, over and done with.
ReplyDeleteSomebody has to say it, Andrew Cuomo is the one and only hope for the Republican and Conservative parties in NYS.
ReplyDeleteCuomo needs to run in the Democrat Primary for Governor in 2022 and win, in order for the NYS GOP and NYS Conservative Party to have any relevance in 2022 and going forward. 2022 is the NYS Republicans' and Conservatives' last outside shot at any kind of comeback in New York City and State.
I'll tell Gail all about this stuff soon; and then he can tell you if he ever get's in the right kind of mood instead of entertaining everybody with the losers of yester-year, Capano. McCabe and Quaglione.
Will bob be cat sitting for Curtis during his swearing in?
ReplyDeletePeople all over our neighborhoods in Southwestern Brooklyn have seen NYPD cruiers with the markings "BA"; which at least one of them was told by the 68th Pct. means "Brooklyn Asian" task force.
ReplyDeleteHere's a question for Brian "Let's take back our neighborhoods" Fox:
Do YOU favor fully funding special NYPD "BA" units in Bay Ridge, Dyker Heights, Bath Beach and Bensonhurst for special "Asian" policing units, if as you say crime is up across the board for everybody?
Be careful how you answer, Brian, because lots of people do support that funding. And, I'm sure that Councilman Justin Brannan and Republican Community activist Chung Dick would be very interested in how you will answer.
Marko back in the news. Anyone know a good bail bondsman?
ReplyDeleteits bailbondperson.
ReplyDeleteIs it, now? Hmmmmm!
ReplyDeleteLiam buddy Marko Kepi..no surprise
