It looks like only one of the 2017 GOP contenders has chosen to follow my advice

Based on his social media lately,  it's clear that John Quaglione has decided that there is no future in, with, and for the Republican Party in Brooklyn

To refer to Q's internet comments as tepid is to suggest that some of his prior postings had a peppery piquancy that was actually missing even when he was trying to be politically relevant

One can hardly blame the lad  ---  given all the carnage in 2018, and with a very important election upcoming,  the Brooklyn GOP team for 2020, which nominally includes Q,  looks like it is about to enter this race with no gas in its tank

What I don't think Quags is doing, though, is just folding up his tent and heading to higher ground; which I certainly believe would be the wiser course for Q and all Brooklyn Republicans..

Maybe, his job for the Church requires him to pray for miracles instead of engaging in secular pursuits;  unfortunately,  the Brooklyn Republican Party needs more than miracles.....

  1. So which one is following your advice?

  2. A NY Post poll shows Curtis Sliwa with 70% name recognition, higher than any other Dem or Rep potential candidate. Wow!

  3. If Q never runs for office again, it would be a miracle. For the Brooklyn GOP.

  4. 70% also recognize Ronald McDonald. Costumed clowns are memorable, but people don't voter for them.

  5. Get rid of Ghorra and all your problems are solved. He is useless and is a waste of life. And he brought on Maresca who is a bigger waste.

If you get someone new as Chair, it wil revitalize the Party and people will stop complaining all the time.

The Leaders are very disappointed with Ted. He makes promises which he never fulfills, takes credit for everything and doesnt do or act as a Chair or leader should.

    When was his last Meeting?
What did he do to help with Covid relief?
    When was his last fundraiser?
When was his last real victory - seriously you cant count primary wins against non-candidates like Kepi and Calerdona?
When was the last time we heard from him or saw him? The Brooklyn GOP is faceless at this time and with his hairpiece that is probably a great thing

  6. Politically, Quaglione's social media footprint makes it look like he's always dragging his feet when it comes to everything.

  7. Ain't no miracle bringing that fetus back to life either

  8. Yeah, but! -- Yeah, but! -- Yeah, but! -- Yeah, but! -- Yeah, but...

  9. Get rid of Ted!!! PLEASE

  10. Yeah, but! -- Yeah, but! -- Yeah, but! -- Yeah, but! -- Yeah, but... That was supposed to be fixed quietly, so why does everybody still keep bringing it up?

  11. Bob has taken over. We all knew it was the inevitable.

  12. Yeah bob you can have it.

  13. I understand more district leaders are talking to Bib regularly about Sliwa's mayoral campaign & his weekly columns than talking to Ghorra about anything!!

  16. Curtis the clown !! Trump has a better chance at becoming borough president as a write in.

    ReplyDelete
  17. Lots of fear of Curtis being expressed here!

    ReplyDelete
  18. No fear. But some interest. Is Curtis running as a Republican or as a joke?

    ReplyDelete
  19. Curtis is the least of the Brooklyn GOP problems. We have an absent chairmen who afraid of contacting any of the district leaders without Fran’s prior consent and Gerry’s written permission.

  20. 197 shootings and Max rose thinks he'll beat the Law & Order candidate Nicole?

  21. Only Capano can endorse against Marty Golden 2 years ago, and be defended by him and his wife on social media this year..no one should doubt his political skills!! Our next Deputy Mayor!!

    ReplyDelete
  22. Curtis should run for President.

    ReplyDelete
  23. But whither John Quaglione in all of this?

And, please, don't tell me "thither"; since Q is "... neither hither nor thither..."; because he's often in a dither, which causes the rest of us to quiver from a distressed liver.

  24. I was at the Vatican last year and the crowd looked up as the Pope and Curtis stepped on to the balcony. Everyone looked and said who is that standing next to Curtis.

    ReplyDelete
  25. I was at President Trump's Inauguration and the crowd looked up as the President Elect and Gerry O'Brien stepped to the balcony. Everyone looked and said who is that standing next to Gerry.

  26. If Curtis runs the dems may just take a pass on 2021.

    ReplyDelete
  27. If the GOP gets a real candidate they can win.

    ReplyDelete
  28. I am sure Ted Ghorra will save the day. He is such a great leader-isn’t he?

    April fools day!

  29. Somebody is not oriented as to time.

From what other mental deficits are they afflicted?

  30. Senator Golden was interviewing a 2021 city council hopeful yesterday and it wasn't Bob, Liam, or John Q

    ReplyDelete
  31. Curtis has just secured the support of 3 of the 5 borough GOP chairs to run for Mayor..they know he is the only one with the name recognition to keep the GOP relevant and can win

    ReplyDelete
  32. Better chance of Curtis at the Vatican than O'Brien at Trump inaug

    ReplyDelete
  33. If Curtis had done so ... we'd see it in the Post before anywhere else.

    ReplyDelete
  34. Curtis has just secured the support of 9 out of 10 labor unions and 97% of all the elected officials.

  35. Professor Capano wins again!

    ReplyDelete
  36. Columnist, Professor, chairman, businessman and future Police & Fire Commissioner Capano will always remember the little people from his offices at City Hall.

  37. Hello, Gale
Deputy Mayor Quaglione is on Line 1

    ReplyDelete
  38. Senator Golden is interviewing candidates?? Does Chairman Ghorra know that

  39. Pork Brannan is ready for 2021.

  40. This is what is wrong we have Never Trumpers in the ranks like Obrien and the Brooklyn YRs..isn't it ironic that not too long ago Gerry was at war with the Brooklyn YR and Jonathan Judge..now he is with them as Never Trumpers.

    ReplyDelete
  41. o'brien is a never trump guy, but he isn't in anybody's ranks for very long, because he don't play well with the other kids very long. he's just like trump, but without the success, the money or the influence.

    ReplyDelete
  42. I guess o'Brien is supporting biden, the one who just said "the police are the enemy of the people".

No wonder Marty Golden showed him the door.

  43. RESPONSE: THE "THERE AIN'T NO GUESSIN' ABOUT IT" EDITION

TO: "ANONYMOUS SAID... AT 11:45 AM"

YOU PROBABLY HAVEN'T SPOKE TO THAT GUY LATELY --- NOT ONLY IS HE FOR BIDEN AND AGAINST TRUMP --- HE IS AGAINST ANYBODY THAT STANDS UP AND SPEAKS OUT FOR TRUMP --- AND HE SAYS THAT THEY CAN ONLY BE FORGIVEN IS IF THEY TURN ON TRUMP BEFORE IT'S TOO LATE

Just a reminder >>> If I even suspect.....

  44. I just heard 20 more Catholic schools in the New York City area will not reopen. Where is John Q? Hiding under his desk from more bad news?

    ReplyDelete
  45. Another great column by Capano in today's Brooklyn Papers leading the local GOP defending President Trump and taking on NYC Democrats!

    ReplyDelete
  46. Q is telling friends (all 2 of them) he will seek to mount a third failed run at the council brass ring in 2021 with the endorsement of all the police unions from Long Island. Q will yet again battle it out with Liam in a Primary rematch of the Ages. Vito Bruno is London broiled. Finished before he even got out of the gate. Nicole is down by 5 points to Max even though Trump is +10 in NY-11. Stay thirsty my friends

    ReplyDelete
  47. Of all the 2017 GOP City Council candidates, Capano was the only one at Vito Bruno's big fund raising bash last night in Bay Ridge..it seems he is the only one working it for the 2021 Council race

    ReplyDelete
  48. I saw Chairman Eaton at the Bruno event. He looked great and seemed to be happy not to be the captain of the Titanic-Brooklyn GOP. Ghorra was there also walking around light on the loafers as they say. Very impressed with himself, but he was the only one impressed. Everyone and I mean everyone was asking Eaton to come back and were whispering how there is nothing going on in Brooklyn, but Eaton is smarter than that.

    ReplyDelete
  49. Eaton and Capano were the stars of the show at the Bruno event..while Ghorra and Kassar were their pompous selves with folks snickering behind their backs
