... the Republicans for the U.S. Senate and the Florida Governorship are looking like the winners --- just like they did on Election Night.....
... the first "official" count or "recanvas" of the vote in the Golden-Gounardes State Senate race is still not done --- any day, now --- ANY DAY.....
... And since the ambit of this blog now includes an "overseas" component [Staten Island], maybe it's time for the blog to start talking about some real international issues. --- For example, one of my top BSIs wants me to do a feature post about a shift in U.S.-N.A.T.O. policy and a completely new approach to America's post-World War II strategic European posture --- taking us back to being an enforcer and protector of the good-for-Russia parts of the Yalta and Potsdam agreements (something that WE RENEGED ON ALMOST FROM THE VERY BEGINNING).
I don't know if I and/or my readers are ready for that.
What do you think ???

ReplyDeleteYeah, but Craig is the only one who has a reason to laugh?
ReplyDeleteGolden lost; Kassar is sick and was forced to retire from the Brooklyn Cons Party; Ghorra has failed to re-elect Golden, Donovan, or elect any Republican in Brooklyn; and McLelland, Daley, Kassar, Vela-Marone, Kepi and all the other unemployable political hacks on Golden's staff will never get jobs in the private sector.
So really, who is laughing now? Clearly 840 and 542 are delusional.
840 and 542 need to get a life.
ReplyDeleteEveryone is laughing at Golden, not Eaton since Golden lost a race he should have won. He has been an elected official for 20 years and he let Kassar, Tobman, Ghorra, Rob Morgan and the other losers run his campaign into the ground.
Any why does he still have over $ 200,000 in his campaign account? That only means he thought he was going to win, which is even sadder that he didnt see the writng on the preeverbial wall
6:05 well to be fair some of these worthless hacks seemed to be charging Golden champagne prices for sludge water product. Maybe Golden was behind in payments to them. Based on what they were charging him he might have to have a fundraiser to get out of debt.
ReplyDeleteGolden already starts out with a war chest for 2020 if he does lose the rigged recount.
ReplyDeleteThere is no rigged "recount"; the only thing rigged was Golden who needed to be propped up after he saw how badly he had lost on Election Night. The whole paper ballots story was to avoid Marty having to address his clear and irreversible loss he had suffered on Election Night.
ReplyDeleteIf Golden rubs in 2020 Eaton will say how close he is with Cats , Cats hates Golden and Cats not supporting him, until he does ...
ReplyDeleteAre we really starting to talk about a Golden comeback? Really?
ReplyDeleteHe will be over 70 in 2020 and looks like 80 now.
Time for him to go out into the pasture and never come back.

ReplyDeleteNobody embarrassed Eaton. He is still laughing at Golden's loss.
ReplyDeleteGolden is old. Kassar is almost dead. And the rest of them are unemployable.
And everyone will be laughing today when the recount tallies are announced.
ReplyDeleteGood thing Golden is in Aruba drowing his sorrows - he wont have to face anyone at Bagel Boy when his loss is confirmed for all to see, and Brannan truly is the King of BR
Let us know when the count is final and is made public, so we all can laugh at Golden, Kassar, Ghorra, McLelland, Daley, Atkins, Testaverde, Krauss etc
ReplyDeleteThe $200,000 left in Golden's campaign account is earmarked for the Manor.
ReplyDeleteIf Marty wants to run again, his boys will have to raise that money separately.
Eaton begged Cats not to do anything for Golden but he listened to Ghorra..
ReplyDeleteEnd of story
Facts are facts
604 is fake news. Cats offered to take Golden off the air completely, if that's what Eaton wanted. Eaton said let the Golden interview air, because it won't make a difference; and the interview aired.
ReplyDeleteAs far as both Eaton and Catsimatidis are concerned, their plan to do next to nothing for Golden worked and Golden lost. There is no blame from the GOP side, and Gounardes and company are grateful for what was done for them.
It's amazing! The Golden dead-enders have nothing in politics unless it relates to Golden.
In other words, the Golden dead-enders are done in politics, because nothing and nobody relates to Marty Golden anymore.
To be fair the proud boys drama in Manhattan was used against Marty with devastating effect. No one on Marty’s team saw that one coming and the way it was handled could provide the manual for how not to handle a crisis situation.
ReplyDeleteRunning over the old lady caught up with Marty.
ReplyDeleteMARTY'S BROOKLYN GOP WAS NO GOP AT ALL!
ReplyDeleteIt all caught up with Marty; but more than anything else, it was his doing Brooklyn Conservative Chairman Jerry Kassar's bidding, and purging the Brooklyn GOP of its most active members. In the end, Marty had no real Brooklyn Republicans working for him, only mostly pay-for-play dead-enders and a bunch of second- and third-stringers that Kassar found for Marty to put in a few GOP slots here and there.
8:00 am nailed it. For years many close to Marty had been warning him about Jerry using him to settle personal scores. And yes for years Jerry was targeting Brooklyn Republicans in favor of his conservative cronies. It wasn’t just that in the end the top of the campaign was led by high priced good for nothing, the middle tier of the campaign was dominated by mostly by consultants from the Upper East Side who for the most part joined the campaign not because they wanted to help
ReplyDeleteMarty but because they were literally unwelcome in any other campaign in the City. And even though people from Marty’s government office meekly protested, they were brought on because Jerry insisted.
Yep 8:32 AM nailed it. Many of Marty's friends and advisors were whispering in his ear for many years to watch out for Jerry Kassar. Marty created a monster and lost control of Kassar. The leash broke and Jerry got loose. Had Marty lost in a landslide that would be another story but he only lost by around 900 votes. The blame lays at the feet of Jerry Kassar. In time Marty will see this.
ReplyDeleteWrongo, Golden Shower Breath! This loss was bigger than the thousand votes that Marty lost to Gounardes by. Jerry Kassar couldn't exist in a vacuum. Old Man Mike Long is the Gray Eminence behind both Golden and Kassar.
ReplyDeleteMike Long is way too savvy to have been intimately involved with this shit show. What people don’t realize is that Jerry’s pollster was the one being used. Ask around any time any one voiced concerns about the strategy of the campaign, they got an earful about how far ahead Golden was in the polling.
ReplyDeleteWell, that depends on what you mean by 'intimately involved with this shit show'.
ReplyDeleteMike Long saw all of this coming more than twenty years ago around the time that he lost badly to Sal Albanese.
It was no accident that Sal and Mike both got behind one of Sal's supporters Marty Golden after Vinny G went off Sal's reservation. Everything about that was stage managed to make Marty less a 'Democrat' and more a 'C[c]onservative'.
At the time Kassar was Mike Long's obvious factotum. Since then, Mike Long stepped back into the political shadows locally, but he was always right there to play wack a mole if Kassar screwed up too much.
8:40 is on point for the most part. However the last two years especially Mike Long would (and tried his best) have to move at the speed of light to do damage control and resolve all the adverse situations caused by Jerry.
ReplyDeleteWho remembers when Jerry K. supported a DEMOCRAT to be Bay Ridge's state senator against the incumbent Republican?
ReplyDeleteEverything has a little Karma that came back around in 2018.
The road has ended for the Obese Oracle Jerry Kassar
ReplyDeleteHe pushed his luck once too many times
Many of you are going to be sorely disappointed if you think Jerry’s influence on the political scene or Brooklyn GOP has diminished after Golden’s loss. Quite the contrary.
ReplyDelete101 is too far into Px opioid use than any Brooklyn Republican or Conservative should be.
ReplyDeleteAnyone thinking that Jerry is going to take responsibility for what happened or even take a step back from trying to control everything is delusional.
ReplyDeleteGreat analysis at 6:18 GM. I though there was hope that Malliotakis would finally free herself from this poseur of a political strategist but recent events make it clear he is still in control.
