When it comes to a personal war on women --- Marty Golden has to be your guy --- With a month to go before the elex, Marty makes another big UNFORCED ERROR by dissing a young woman at a public forum

Golden's attempt to put a woman Democrat in her place for asking him a straightforward question at a  >>> Bay Ridge political forum  <<< turns into another  >>> EPIC FAIL <<< when it comes to Marty Golden's rep with women and dealing with women's issues

Marty Golden’s principal attempt at a put-down was quoted thus:  Mallory, I’m sorry, I’m too busy for you….”  ---   this was clearly indicative of Golden’s intent to be both personal and dismissive  ---  in a word,  “NASTY !!!”

NOT BAD ENOUGH ???   That remark was quickly followed by this jibe by Golden:  “She’s here for her own issues….  She agrees with me on nothing and I have a very busy office.” [again, with Golden directly referring to Mallory McMahon].  Finally, Golden “explained" that Mallory McMahon was actually a “Democratic operative” with an “agenda”…..

Commenters supporting Marty Golden on this blog have tried to spin this story so that Mallory McMahon came off looking like she had been rude to the Republican State Senator.  However, that version of things never appeared in any of the reports of the incident in the local press.

In fact, if one were to look at all the coverage closely, most of what the journalists covering the debate wrote about the Golden-McMahon tete-a-tete seemed to side with the woman questioner, who only asked Marty why neither he nor his staff had responded to her since February, a period now approaching almost nine (9) months…..  (See  Golden, Gounardes clash in heated debate  Paula Katinas,  10/3/18,  Brooklyn Reporter/  Politics & Government   [https://brooklynreporter.com/2018/10/golden-gounardes-clash-in-heated-debate/];  a very similar article by PK also appeared in the Brooklyn Daily Eagle on 10/4/18 at [http://www.brooklyneagle.com/articles/2018/10/4/golden-gounardes-clash-heated-debate];  also  "From The Southern Brooklyn Candidate Forum: Golden Only Has Time For Some Constituents" by Kadia Goba,  10/4/18,  Bklyner. [Blog]    [https://bklyner.com/from-the-southern-brooklyn-candidate-forum-golden-only-has-time-for-some-constituents/];  also "No Debate: Golden-McMahon Stand-Off Comes to Fore at Ridge Forum" by Meaghan McGoldrick, 10/5/18, Brooklyn Reporter/ Politics [https://brooklynreporter.com/2018/10/no-debate-golden-mcmahon-stand-off-comes-to-fore-at-ridge-forum/];  also  Candidates spar over limits of term limits at forum"  by Julianne Cuba, 10/8/18,  The Brooklyn Paper   [https://www.brooklynpaper.com/stories/41/41/bn-golden-gounardes-bay-ridge-candidates-forum-2018-10-12-bk.html]).

Both Democrats and Republicans have told me that, from the very beginning of the various renditions of this story,  it was Marty Golden who started off by being rude.  And,  as is often the case with our incumbent state senator, who appears to be both verbally challenged and extremely defensive when confronted in public, his attempts at modifying or explaining his remarks often makes things even worse for him.

Say what you will,  one way or the other;  this one-on-one bout between Marty Golden and Mallory McMahon did Marty Golden’s re-election bid no good at all.  His allowing it to happen at all was a mistake  ---  BUT  ---  to personally attack the young woman with venom and in the manner that he did was unequivocally an UNFORCED ERROR of the highest order,  especially given his past history vis a vis women and “women’s issues.”

  1. GM you should have been there. Local press now consists of one liberal publication. Mallory saved Marty. Get some new sources or stop copy pasting whatever Justin sends you.

TO: "ANONYMOUS SAID... AT 8:58 AM"

MY SOURCES (MORE THAN ONE) ON THIS MATERIAL INCLUDED ONE PERSON WHO CALLED ME FROM THE DEBATE WHILE PART OF IT WAS STILL ONGOING --- AND OTHERS THAT HEARD THE STREET BUZZ ABOUT GOLDEN & MC MAHON --- THEY INCLUDED SEVERAL CURRENT AND RECENT STATE COMMITTEE MEMBERS IN THE REPUBLICAN AND DEMOCRAT PARTIES --- AND JUSTIN BRANNAN WAS >>> NOT <<< ONE OF THEM

Like them or not, the media reports are what most folks know about this debate, and the Golden-McMahon thing that went on there.....

  3. Gail, there is much bigger stuff about Marty and the early years of the BR Manor and Marty Golden as a fresh new Republican pol. One of the biggest is how Marty wiped out a H-U-U-U-U-G-E back water bill for the Bay Ridge Manor as a relatively new Republican City Councilman; and how did he have the Democrat juice to get that done.

  4. Gail, don't take things so personally. I was there. Gounardes lost the crowd when Mallory got obnoxious. Gounardes supporters from the crowd were yelling at here to stop. The debate story became Golden vs Mallory exactly how Team Golden wants it.

  5. GOLDEN GOT TROUNCED TONIGHT....ANDREW IS ON HIS WAY TO VICTORY!!!!

  6. Marty showed how old and feeble he has gotten. Couldnt answer questions, kept stutering and stumbling and yelling at people asking him questions.

    Karma is king

  7. Too bad 90% of Andrew’s supporters can’t vote for him because they were from Manhattan.

  8. Golden's parachute has collapsed- time to take over as Brooklyn GOP Chair and send Ghorra to the doghouse

    ReplyDelete
  9. Yeah Marty lost that screaming left wing crazy vote. Now he only wins by 9%.

  10. I don’t know if Craig Eaton watched the debate tonight but more than anyone he got the last laugh. No Brooklyn GOP ground game. Enough excuses for Ghorra. The kind have always bussed in their fellow wack jobs from other neighborhoods and boroughs, but the fact that in the heart of Dyker Heights it was a mostly pro Gounardes crowd tells you all you need to know about the state of the Brooklyn GOP.

  11. wrong 7;54

    they were laughing at craig

    ReplyDelete
  12. Who was laughing at Craig? All two of the people Ted managed to get to show up? Or were they just confused as the overwhelmingly pro Gounardes crowd drowned them out?

  13. The Kavanaugh impact on election day will help Marty. Mallory Mccan is not helping Gournardes.

  14. Who is Mallory McCan? Morons!

  15. Gail, the election is coming on faster that a speeding R-train passing 77th Street, southbound. Still nothing about Marty Golden getting a very big 'fix' for a very long overdue and substantial water bill on the Bay Ridge Manor after he bought it.
This story is about a big-time flim-flam involving Golden's earlier days at the BRM and dabbling in political 'fixes'.
There's also something about big problems involving Golden's first renovation of the 'catering hall' at a time when he didn't even own it.

    ReplyDelete
  16. Golden's history of 'deals' with local Democrats like Albanese and Abbate started with Golden's big 'deals' to 'rent' and then 'buy' the Bay Ridge Manor from an 'owner-agent' with close ties to a local Democratic Party Organization, and who was also a business partner of Marty Golden on other 'deals' involving other bars, restaurants and clubs. (The dates and times of those 'deals' is very interesting for a 'good' cop in Brooklyn in the old days)
But that is very 'old' news, isn't it?
    MAYBE NOT!

  17. Last night was one of the most embarrassing events ever for Golden. Most of the questions were from Democrat operative plants but the local ones that were easily recognizable in the audience. No one from Golden Campaign bothered to let Fran know or at least have a few of their own supporters there to ask questions to balance things out. It was a debacle. Wondering how much longer state party will let this going before sending some help in the form of professional campaign organization. I don’t think Golden will lose but last night certainly didn’t do him any favors.

  18. Marty wins by double digits

  19. We came to the debate from out of town and were worried Jerry was going to have a stroke last night when that punk asked about Marty killing the woman with his car

    ReplyDelete
  20. 7:27 why would Andrew Gounardes supporters care about Jerry having a stroke? Because if anybody was “from out of town” it was the 50 lifelong staffer hacks front eh rest of the city that Andrew brought with him. You know the same hacks that were raucously applauding when Andrew stood up for voting rights for cop killers.

  21. I was in town from Oyster Bay with my family to see the Christmas Lights in Dyker and came to the debate with a friend. We too were worried that the very, very old man in the Members Only jacket was going to have a heart attack. Who was that man? He was very upset

    ReplyDelete
  22. Yes if Republicans keep up the circular firing squad and don't come out to vote that's exactly whats going to happen.

    ReplyDelete
  23. The dialogue on this senate race is about as exciting as talking about a water bill.

    ReplyDelete
  24. Somebody PLEASE tell Uncle Marty that women now have the vote.

    ReplyDelete
  25. An incumbent is outspending a challenger 10 to 1

Fun to watch but no contest

  26. RESPONSE: THE "SPECIAL CODED MESSAGE ABOUT THE SPECIAL BACK WATER BILL" EDITION

TO: "ANONYMOUS SAID... AT 11:04 AM"

I THINK I KNOW WHO YOU ARE --- AND I HOPE YOU ARE "ON THE CASE" AS ONLY YOU CAN BE.....

ONE OF MY STRINGER BSIs, JB, IS INTERESTED AND IS LOOKING INTO A FEW THINGS FROM HIS END

Many folks might think that what is or isn't >>> collected <<< in past due NYC revenue doesn't count for anything..... However, if a special >>> fix <<< is put into place that lifts a substantial past due obligation from the relatively new owner/operator of a property that houses a well known Bay Ridge catering hall, then that certainly counts in figuring out profit & loss, possibly even the immediate success or failure of the whole enterprise.

Now, if it comes to light that the "special fix" was the result of SPECIAL INFLUENCE --- then things start looking murkier, and words like "corruption" start sounding very descriptive.

Riddle me this, Bat Man, who do you think might be the usual suspects in this caper --- and how do you think they did it ?????

  27. In his delirious stupor and delusions of liberal grandeur, last night Andrew Gounardes said he supported parole and voting rights for Cop killers claiming its their constitutional right. No way to spin that GM, he said it. Put that in your pipe and smoke it. Disgusting.

    ReplyDelete
  28. If they are eligible for parole, and receive it, they are also eligible to have their voting rights restored. If you don't like it, change the law.

  29. My guess is when Marty was elected to City Council in 1997 Mayor Guiliani & his commissioner of whatever took care of some liens on the Bay Ridge Manor.

I'll pull the paperwork tomorrow and see what great legal scholar notarized the documents. Some Bay Ridge Celebrities are always around for such an event. Everything will be submitted to the GWM fact checkers by noon.

  30. What's being forgotten about the Dyker Heights Civic debates is that Frontus was extremely effective , connecting with the audience, and showing her bona fides while Saperstein mumbles his way through the debate with No impressive moments but the interns, Liam (5 stints in rehab) and the Upper East Side Psychos probably thought he won.

Needs to get laid . Sorry alexandra is taken.

    ReplyDelete
  32. Wow 411 admits she is one of the Upper East Side psychos.
    Good to see all know

    ReplyDelete
  33. No clue and not a care about who is getting laid or wants to get laid but back to Saperstein Campaign. No way he loses if he would have hired a professional campaign team. He assembled the most out there ineffective disliked people he could find in and out of Brooklyn and formed his campaign.

  34. RESPONSE: THE "STRANGE BEDFELLOWS" EDITION

TO: "ANONYMOUS SAID... AT 5:31 AM"

YOUR COMMENT IS SO WRONG IN SO MANY WAYS --- BUT THERE IS A NUGGET OF GOLD IN IT

".... He assembled the most out there ineffective disliked people he could find in and out of Brooklyn and formed his campaign...." --- BOY DID HE EVER !!! These people are so disliked, they don't like each other.....

One of the Saperstein team spoke to me a few days ago and said that basic "Campaign 101" stuff is rejected out of hand "... because that's not what we do."

Imagine the whole "Godfather" trilogy with only one character, Fredo Corleone, and that character reduced to only one line of dialogue --- ".... I can handle things! I'm smart! Not like everybody says... like dumb... I'm smart and I want respect!" Even the late great John Cazale wouldn't be able to make that work.....

That's why person after person previously involved with the Saperstein campaign has said, one way or another, in word or deed: ".... [Y]ou're nothing to me now. You're not a brother, you're not a friend. I don't want to know you or what you do...."

    ReplyDelete
  35. Can someone enlighten us about the stunt Sap's people pulled at the debate? Dems chuckled at it, but can't find anything more.

    ReplyDelete
  36. 6:24 The dems are anti Semitic. We are chuckling at them.

    ReplyDelete
  37. One of Saps plants asked Frontus is she supported Louis Farakan..went no where..

    ReplyDelete
  38. Obrien and Capano are Saps biggest loss..even though Sap has the Reform line Capano and Sliwa aren't lifting a finger to help him. .

    ReplyDelete
  39. Sap is going to win this

    ReplyDelete
  40. 6:35 ... the GOP ain't exactly B'Nai B'rith these days, with white nationalists, skinheads and Nazis running for office as Republicans around the country.

    ReplyDelete
  41. This race should be Saperstein's to lose but he does not have a coherent message or a real team. Let's get real everybody in the GOP and their cousin worried about Golden and only Golden.

    ReplyDelete
  42. Golden and GOP is with Golden and only Golden..Sap is a lost puppy on his own

    ReplyDelete
  43. Saperstein made his bed. He has burned so many good people in this campaign he better win this time or there will be no next time.

    ReplyDelete
  44. 904 Who was burned?

    ReplyDelete
  45. 9:32

Quaglione, vito bruno, clorinda, ray, even golden himself are all rumored to have had a major falling out with steve over his choice of campaign staff

    ReplyDelete
  46. Nobody has defected. Saperstein is less than four weeks away from being Assemblyman Elect Saperstein.

Ray Denaro who unlike others does not blog anonymously

    ReplyDelete
  47. 9:55 Ray is still on Saperstein campaign, that is still a very incomplete list.

    ReplyDelete
  48. Ray Denaro is the guy who convinced Steve Saperstein that Michael Grimm would win by a landslide and they openly campaigned for him. Opposing Donovan kind of explains why Steve barely has two nickels to run together in the last filing. Ray may or may not blog anonymously but what he should really work on is staying quiet listening observing in not interrupting when mature intelligent adults are planning a campaign.

    ReplyDelete
  49. Not all defectors do it in grand style like Kim Philby..... or John V. Lindsay..... or Herb London..... or Mike Bloomberg..... or Bob Capano.....

    ReplyDelete
  50. If Marty needs Ray Denaro to walk him down 18th Avenue then Andrew the Greek will cruise to victory next month

    ReplyDelete
  51. Marty has Ray and Liam as reserves for replacing Ghorra. Only a matter of time.

    ReplyDelete
  52. Ray is a Class Act and Gentlemen
Liam is a dirty dealer who can no longer be trusted by the Party

    ReplyDelete
  53. Ray is a buffoon who mistakes himself for a genius strategist. At least Liam can kinda sorta run a campaign.

    ReplyDelete
  54. I wonder when Saperstein gets a lower percentage of the vote Th is year than he got in his Council race last year he will realize he hired the wrong political team...he needs professionals not a bunch of Looney Tunes young folks..

I hear his campaign is more like a frat house so I wouldn't worry about people getting laid!! I even hear Liam came close to breaking the wall just like he did at the old Brooklyn GOP HQ when he was drunk ...I saw the damage

    ReplyDelete
  55. Here is how you know Golden could care less about Saperstein-- was Sap invited to Golden press conference with Molinaro at the "joint" Golden Saperstein campaign office?????????

    ReplyDelete
  56. Haven’t read this blog in a while but i like the versatility Im described as - buffoon, class act, gentleman. Love ya’ll..xoxoxo

-Ray Denaro - i never blogged anonymously, never will and Assemblyman Sap still has my unwavering support. Go get em kiddo.

Ps-this has been my only post on here. The others are fake neeeews
