On Primary Day Mallory McMahon mugged Marty Golden in plain sight for all the world to see

HERE'S THE MEAT AND POTATOES:
"....   Golden hides from anyone who might challenge how he conducts business in Albany. Full voicemail boxes and ignored messages demonstrate that the Senator has decided the concerns of the neighborhood don’t matter. Once, in a meeting with constituents who asked him to hold a Town Hall, Golden replied, “That won’t benefit me.” And there’s the truth about Marty Golden: he’s a coward. He can’t handle disagreement, and feels safe enough in his gerrymandered district that he thinks he doesn’t have to. Knowing that even his most vociferous opponent won’t make a scene at a festival or parade, he’s largely been able to keep up the charade – until now...."                                                                -- Mallory McMahon

It's all there in glorious black and white in a rare OP ED in KCP;  and on Primary Day, to boot:   "After twenty years in public office, Senator Marty Golden is well known in the community. His cheerful appearances at parades, street fairs, and other events, make him seem available to constituents, but Golden is much less accessible than his public image implies. The Block Party Barron, it turns out, is also the Archduke of Avoidance....   I should know: I’ve been attempting to organize a meeting with him for 200 days. In that time, Golden’s office has cancelled appointments, refused to reschedule, hung up when I call, given me the runaround, and flat-out ignored my requests...."  (See "Marty Golden: The Archduke of Avoidance"  by Mallory McMahon, 9/13/18,  Kings County Politics/ OP ED   [https://www.kingscountypolitics.com/marty-golden-the-archduke-of-avoidance/]).

Ms. McMahon goes on to tell her prosaic tale of  false starts and dead ends that actually sounds like a Bay Ridge version of  "Candide"....

It sure is closer to "Candide" than "Arsenic and Old Lace"  ---   But maybe  it might be  ---   "At Long Last Love"

Of course the Goldenbots are going to counter that Ms.  McMahon is one of those sinister McMahon Ladies, channeling  their inner Abby and Martha Brewster without need of any arsenic-laced elderberry wine.....

You know what I say to anything like that  ---  "PISH-POSH   !!!"   (Quoting Warren from the old  Glenwood Rest at the Flatbush Junction)

For full disclosure, here's the bio of Mallory McMahon that appeared at the end of her KCP OP ED:
"Mallory McMahon is a writer and organizer from Bay Ridge, Brooklyn. Her writing has appeared in the Berkeley Fiction Review, Necessary Fiction, the Tupelo Quarterly, Athena Talks, the EEEL, and several local papers through op-eds and letters to the editor. She is one of the founding members of Fight Back Bay Ridge, a local collaborative action group that seeks to activate community organizing and civic engagement through non-hierarchical, democratic processes.
On Twitter @mallorytmcmahon"  [And how could I not make special mention of that photo making MM look like our very own Christina Hendricks at her "Mad Men" best....]

Ah,for some reason it brings to mind the refrain in one of Cole Porter's lesser tunes,  done oh so well by the late Bobby Short  ---
".....  I'm in love again, and I can't rise above it
I'm in love again, and I love, love, love it
I'm in love again, and I'm darn glad of it
Good news!..."

  1. Mallory McMahon needs to find a job and a new hobby. She's an unemployed political operative masquerading as a "constituent". She heads a political campaign committee registered with the board of elections. Let me get this in before Gale starts deleting once his boss Brannan gives him the order.

  6. Mallory McMahon recently accused the police of covering up her alleged attempted abduction eight years ago. She has no job just a lot of free time on her hands to nurse a grudge against Marty Golden. Those tote bags she raised thousands for couldn’t have cost more than a couple of hundred bucks. Just saying.

    ReplyDelete
  7. It was about 8 years ago that Marty ran over and killed an old lady. That was covered up by Martys friend the DA. If Marty can cover up a killing than why not an attempted abduction.

And why does Marty refuse to meet with Mallory?

  8. Mallory McMahon is an accomplished author. I believe her.

  9. Mallory is an accomplished poor liar. Marty had an accident and hit a woman who survived the accident but found out she had cancer when she went to the Hospital. These dirtbags know that but continue to exploit the tragedy. And Mallory should stop bothering to delete old posts and which have her making different claims about her incident with the police. Marty’s team has gotten multiple vastly different versions written by her some on Twitter some on Facebook. The truth is finally coming out.

  10. Mallorys op-ed seems credible. Goldens answers, which amount to "no comment", sound strange. They sound like the response of a guilty person. Maybe thats how his press office wants it.

  14. RESPONSE: THE "LET'S STICK TO THE FACTS OF MARTY GOLDEN'S FATAL SUV ACCIDENT" EDITION

TO: "ANONYMOUS SAID... AT 3:01 PM" & "... AT 3:27 PM"

"... AT 3:21 PM," YOU SEEM TO BE THE ONLY ONE WHO HAS ANY INFORMATION THAT ANY "... WOMAN WHO SURVIVED THE ACCIDENT FOUND OUT SHE HAD CANCER WHEN SHE WENT TO THE HOSPITAL..."

--- WHERE DID YOU GET THAT PARTICULAR AND APPARENTLY UNIQUE INFORMATION ????? ---

I HAVE MANY FILES ABOUT THAT ACCIDENT, BUT NOTHING ABOUT WHAT YOU ARE REPORTING ON NOW

HERE'S SOME OF WHAT I HAVE:

At around 11:42 AM on August 6, 2005 [more than thirteen (13) years ago], State Senator Marty Golden had an “accident” when his black 2005 Chevrolet SUV struck a 74 year old woman pedestrian, Hariklia Zafiropoulos [also reported as: Harkli Zafiroulos], at the corner of 84th Street and Third Avenue in Bay Ridge, Brooklyn. Sometime thereafter, she succumbed to her injuries from the accident.

HERE ARE SOME CONTEMPORARY NEWSPAPER AND BLOG REPORTS FROM AUGUST 2005 OF MARTY GOLDEN’S DRIVING HIS SUV AROUND BAY RIDGE AND BEING INVOLVED IN A CROSS-WALK PEDESTRIAN KNOCK DOWN OF HARIKLIA ZAFIROPOULOS

These are sources and citations shortly following Marty Golden's accident with the pedestrian, Hariklia Zafiropoulos (also as stated above sometimes called "Harkli Zafiroulos"):

  19. RESPONSE: THE "KEEP YOUR FAKE NEWS TO YOURSELF --- THIS IS NOT A MARTY GOLDEN SPIN ZONE" EDITION

TO: "ANONYMOUS SAID... AT 5:37 PM" & THE TWO THAT ARE NOW WITHOUT ANY COMMENTS HERE AT ALL

"VILE" IS A GREAT WORD WHEN IT COMES TO THIS "ACCIDENT" INVOLVING STATE SENATOR MARTIN J. GOLDEN AND THE DECEASED WOMAN --- AND --- VILE IS AS VILE DOES !!!

It's Marty Golden's failure to explain all that happened to the poor old woman that he ran down in 2005, and why/how his negligence caused it to happen; and his minions trying to pretend it wasn't really their boss's fault >>> it's all of that, which is vile.

"She did not die because of the car accident." That's a very value laden claim; and somebody is going to have to back it up --- probably Marty himself.....

Tonight, was a very fruitful night for somebody --- we were given the naked claim that "she did not die because of the car accident...." and it was strongly suggested that the poor old woman really died of cancer, and not because she was knocked for a loop by Marty Golden's accelerating SUV.

WHILE MARTY IS ANSWERING THE QUESTIONS THAT I RAISED IN MY COMMENT ABOVE --- MAYBE HE CAN GET AROUND TO EXPLAINING AWAY THE BIG $$$$$$ SETTLEMENT TO THE ESTATE OF THE DECEASED WOMAN --- AS REPORTED BY THE NY DAILY NEWS.....

MAYBE IT WAS BECAUSE OF SENATOR GOLDEN'S "NEGLIGENCE" AND "RECKLESSNESS"

You know, it's not me, and it's not Justin Brannan, and it's not Mallory McMahon that brought this up, it was a reporter for the DAILY NEWS.

Here's some of what the >>> Daily News article <<< said not very long ago: "State Sen. Marty Golden's driving has taken a toll — on his wallet.... The Bay Ridge pol [ ] paid $750,000 to settle a lawsuit brought by the estate of a Brooklyn pedestrian whom he hit with his SUV in 2005...." And here are the details: ".... The crash left the pedestrian, Hariklia Zafiropoulos, in a coma for weeks. The 74-year-old retired seamstress died six months later, having remained in the hospital the entire time because her condition continued to deteriorate.... While the NYPD didn't charge Golden in the crash, the administrator of Zafiropoulos' estate filed a lawsuit in 2008 that accused the Republican senator of negligence and recklessness.... The law firm repping the estate investigated and conducted depositions before agreeing to a mediator, who helped hash out the high six-figure deal in 2010, court records show. 'After lengthy negotiations, a final offer to settle the decedent's claims for the sum of $750,000 was made,' Anthony Xanthakis, a lawyer for the estate, said..." (See "Cop-impersonating state Sen. Marty Golden knocked 74-year-old pedestrian into coma with 2005 wreck, paid out $750G settlement" by James Fanelli, 12/15/17, NY Daily News/ New York [http://www.nydailynews.com/new-york/cop-impersonating-pol-2005-suv-wreck-left-elderly-woman-coma-article-1.3699120]

  21. Capano had a good column. Published before the polls closed was original.

    ReplyDelete
  22. Without a doubt, there are plenty of detailed police reports about Golden's 2005 accident that either did or did not cause an elderly woman to die. Those reports will include any of Golden's statements to the police at the scene, statements to detectives, detailed AIS measurements and expert estimates of Golden's speed at the time of contact and other relevant facts.

Before discussion of this issue goes much further, somebody has to get Golden to authorize the release of those NYPD reports.

    ReplyDelete
  23. No the woman died because Golden ran her over. Police reports are his version because he was a cop.

Remember, Marty never got a speeding ticket until the cameras. Then talking to cops didnt help him.

    ReplyDelete
  24. You are missing a bigger point. Senator Golden needs to be pressed to release all the official NYPD reports about this accident, period, end of story. Until then, we don't know if they inculpate him or exonerate him.

Something caused him and/or his insurance company to pay a lot of money for this particular incident.

    ReplyDelete
  25. if Golden wont agree to release reports he looks guilty.

I was at Xaveran HS Cigar night this week and people were asking why Eaton has gone MIA...then it was clarified to all the movers and shakers there that Johnny Cats is supporting Marty and Craig was told to stay mum...sad for him

    ReplyDelete
  37. Actually Craig is on a vacation in the Caribbean probably laughing that the Brooklyn GOP has fallen so low they are now terrified of Team Gounardes.

    ReplyDelete
  38. I could tell at cigar night that Craigs stock with his "friends" has gone down a lot...can't be live how he has fallen and pushed out of public eye by team Golden and Cats

    ReplyDelete
  39. Hey, 7:00 and 7:33, you are so full of crap and fake news. Why would Craig be at a Xaverian Cigar Night? His active alumni affiliation is with Xavier in Manhattan, not Xaverian in Brooklyn.

    ReplyDelete
  40. Not saying Craig should have been there just relaying what was being talked about..read more closely

    ReplyDelete
  41. 8:21 Translation bitter haters still obsessed with Craig as he was enjoying his trip to the islands.

    ReplyDelete
  42. 8:21, you sure do a lot of clarifying, don't you. Other people were saying, and then you clarified with the bs about Craig and Cats. I caught you way off base, and you clarified some more.
Why not clarify about all of Marty Golden's missing Police Department records? Disciplinary, for losing his gun and blaming it on his mom, and who knows what else; Medical, for his on the job million dollar disabling injury (and were there disciplinaries pending at the time?); Pension, the gold plated tax-free kind; and as an elected public official, GoOlden's MVA & IAS records for his 2005 accident causing fatal injuries to a pedestrian.
While you're at it, why not clarify why your guy Senator Golden is so tight lipped, did his "mentor-friend" Cats tell Marty to keep his mouth shut, is Marty Folden the real one who is on John Catsimatidis' "tight leash."

    ReplyDelete
  43. Craig is obsolete..any little relevance he had was taken away after Golden, Ghorra met with Cats 6 weeks ago and Cats then told Eaton to sit down and shut up

    ReplyDelete
  44. Ted is not even taken seriously by his top lieutenants. Liam and Ray have already started positioning themselves to be the next Jerry puppet at the reorg next year. Poor Brian Doherty can’t believe the stuff his Chair says sometimes. It’s a pretty sad situation for the Brooklyn GOP when Craig Eaton is more popular now than he ever was as Chair.

    ReplyDelete
  45. Craig is not popular ..he is laughed at by all for being silent on his own biggest race in his own district and borough...more than that he is MIA on all matters...he thought about coming out against Golden but Cats took care of that

    ReplyDelete
  46. Craig has decided to follow crapanos move and take over the rent is to damn high party

    ReplyDelete
  47. In typical Eaton fashion the day after the state Senate election he will say he was always backing Golden after he wins..

    ReplyDelete
  48. Yes the desperate hangers on parrot whatever they’re told about Craig but have no clue that Cats and Craig are good friends, that Cats is loyal to his fiends, and that Craig was one of the few people truly loyal to him when he ran for Mayor in 2013. And Team Golden terrified that at any moment Cats will choose to exact revenge for what Jerry and the Conservatives did to him in that race for Mayor. Meanwhile people still laugh at the thought that Ted will be Chair next year.

--- CLOSER TO THE "CB-10 CRAIG" THAN THE "GOP CRAIG" --- BUT NOT LIKELY CLOSER TO THE "2018 MARTY" THAN THE "2008 MARTY".....

I think that Craig Eaton is going to make a local big splash sometime soon, and his name will be bigger than Alex Trebek's or even some of the local luminaries (I won't mention any for fear of offending those not mentioned).

Certainly, it will be before Election Day 2018.

Marty Golden probably will really not like it at all.

And Bob Capano and I will be all smiles for the photographers when it's announced.

Also, it depends on what picture of Ms. Mallory you are looking at..... I would say that Michelle Williams has a very special quality of looking like many different people --- after all, she even did a pretty convincing portrayal of Marilyn Monroe (and that was a real stretch). Maybe, Mallory McMahon has that same chameleon quality, sort of like the heroine in that literary classic of the late 60s "Naked Came the Stranger" (the book not the porno movie).....

  70. REALITY CHECK: THE "WHY WASN'T I TOLD SOONER --- BUT IT HAD BEEN WELL-SAID LONG AGO" EDITION

A FRIEND AND LOYAL BSI CALLED A LITTLE WHILE AGO.....

He said that I should sit down if I wasn't already seated. Then it hit me like a ton of bricks; Mallory McMahon was getting married today.

Here I am with my heart on my sleeve, and Mallory and some guy whose name I don't even know pull the rug out from under me. All literally before I knew it..... Too late did I learn this wisdom expounded by a Roman Senator from Pavia, too little studied in these times: "He whose heart is fickle is not his own master, has thrown away his shield, deserted his post, and forged the links of the chain that holds him.”

Ah, Fortuna..... but, as Boethius also tells us, "So dry your tears. Fortuna has not yet turned her hatred against all your blessings. The storm has not yet broken upon you with too much violence. Your anchors are holding firm and they permit you both comfort in the present, and hope in the future.”

And, to the newlyweds, let me again quote from Boethius thus: “Love binds people too, in matrimony's sacred bonds where chaste lovers are met, and friends cement their trust and friendship. How happy is mankind, if the love that orders the stars above rules, too, in your hearts.”

After all, Christina Hendricks is married too..... and to a guy that's even more nebishy than I am.

And yes, Boethius is the font of wisdom for Ignatius Reilly, the focal character in John Kennedy Toole's "A Confederacy of Dunces."

Frontus is a very weak candidate, Steve should now be the favorite. The smart thing to do is get rid of all these loose cannons and perennial malcontents and hire a real campaign manager and bring in a real team. Steve you know it’s time to bring in new blood when the smartest and most popular member of your team isn’t old enough to buy cigarettes.

  81. You don't know me, but your mind seems pretty closed and you seem very thin-skinned about the possibility of you and your friends being racist or welcoming openly racist supporters into your klavern of hood wearers.

  82. RESPONSE: THE "WE DON'T NEED THAT STUFF RIGHT NOW" EDITION

    TO: "ANONYMOUS SAID... AT 8:19 AM" & "... AT 8:32 AM" & "... AT 8:42 AM"

***** OBVIOUSLY THERE ARE SOME RACE ISSUES TO BE AIRED --- BUT SAVE IT FOR ANOTHER DAY --- THE IMMEDIATE QUESTION AT HAND IS WHETHER SOMEBODY IS TRYING TO GAME THE DEMOCRAT PRIMARY RESULTS IN THE 46TH A.D. *****

Why is there no "official" (not really "official") final election day tally from the 46th A.D. ??? And why were the totals of votes from four (4) election districts in the 46th A.D. (the 16th, 17th, 18th & 81st) not turned in after the voting Primary Night; and based on one report awaiting "hand delivery" ????? Somebody else reported that the results of another bunch of EDs are incomplete.

Merely as a point of reference, the last that I heard was that Mathylde Frontus' narrowest reported lead over Ethan Lustig-Elgrably was only seventy (70) votes..... That's very, very close.

  83. If the missing election districts are from the Trump and Warbasse houses, that would more likely favor Lustig-Elgrably.

  84. Was the Steve Saperstein and Democratic City Councilman Kalman Yeger photo-op on the steps of City Hall more than just a photo-op?

  85. Liam and his trailer park trash fiancé hurt Steve Saperstein in the early days I hope he can recover from the missfires because it don't matter Ethan or Matilda wins I think they can both be beat and maybe we can pick up a seat here because Steve is going to work hard at it

  86. Saperstein did burn a lot of bridges early on because of Liam and his hot head fiancé plus Ray ''L&B Pizza Boy'' Denaro. The smart thing to do would be to get rid of all these misfits and loose cannons and hire a real professional campaign consulting team, somebody from DC who can win a race and pick up an ''R'' seat. The definition of insanity is doing the same thing over and over again but expecting different results....... Saperstein can't win with the same crew of ragtag misfits and drunken psychopaths

  87. Saperstein can be victorious if he has the right team and surrounds himself with better people not the people mentioned above

  88. Like I said, you don't know me (maybe, it's more accurate to say that you don't know who I am by name, but I am sure that you have seen me around political and public events). 'Liberal progressive', I'm hardly that; I'm a lot closer to being an anarchist-leaning libertarian. I'm also an occasional 'Baker Street Irregular" or BSI for GM, or as I call him 'Gaily-baby' (if you have read this blog for more than a few weeks I'm sure you've seen some of my comments; I wrote a lot of them over the YEARS for GM, right from the beginnings of this blog).

When you said 'minorities' I'll assume you meant dark-skinned people. I've probably known maybe ten times the number of 'minorities'in my life than you have in yours. I've been in school with them from high school through college, I've been on varsity teams with them, partied with them, eaten with them, taught them various academic subjects, argued politics with them, did politics with them, going door to door or working polling places in their neighborhoods, I've worked alongside them, and had my life and safety depend upon them many times in my work environment, and a long time ago, I had even been in the middle of racial riots with them. All to the extent that I'm embarrassed that I've called them 'them' so far in this comment, because most of the times I mentioned, it was not them and me, it was 'us'.

  89. 4:40 you’re a fraud. “With them”. Stated about a hundred times. Them? I rest my case.

    ReplyDelete
  90. 5:11, what's the 'fraud' that has your underwear all bunched up? You said I had no 'minorities' friendships in my life, why would you think that?

After I showed that my whole adult life was full of contacts with what you called 'minorities', you pretend that the word 'them' bugs you, even afte I had pointed out that I hated the fact that I had used it. As if YOU think of 'minorities' as 'us'; that's not likely at all.

Go back to your Norse-god worshipping, hood wearing klavern of thin-skinned, red-necked beer-swilling racists, all hoping soon to be escapees from the rising tide of urban mud people.

  91. 7:39 bla bla bla. So obviously unfamiliar associating with minorities you have to write an essay in response every time someone points out the obvious. Guilt ridden about minorities but you would never associate with “them”.
