So is it going to be "Felder vs. Golden" inside the GOP caucus

Right now,  it's boiling over inside the Brooklyn GOP and the head of the Brooklyn Conservative Party Chairman Jerry Kassar  ---  And it's all about the "Frankenstein" fellow-caucassing state senator,  nominal Democrat Simcha Felder and the end of speed cams in school zones all over New York

State Senator Simcha Felder,  until 2018 the "D-R-C" state Senator from Boro Park and surrounding ultra-Orthodox Jewish communities,  has held the NYS Senate, and virtually the whole of NYS government, hostage throughout 2018 over an item of extreme parochial interest  ---  and something quite outrageous in its own right

HOWEVER  ---  LOCALLY,  IT WILL NOT BE SIMCHA FELDER THAT PAYS THE PRICE FOR THIS OUTRAGE  ---  IT WILL STATE SENATOR MARTIN GOLDEN

Last Friday, the NY Post did its lead Editorial all about it  ---  it stated the case quite completely,  but succinctly

Sometimes the most interesting fight is on the undercard.

The upcoming Democrat primary between Andrew Gounardes and Ross Barkan is heating up and might be quite interesting by September;  however, the hottest thing around right now is something that doesn't even look like it should be a fight on any card  ---  "Golden v. Felder"  ---  It's being fought deep inside the GOP and Conservative Party club houses or cloak rooms or phone booths or wherever else the people who count hash these things out.....

Until now, even though State Senator Felder's intransigence has been mentioned, it has not been the main story in why speed cams will no longer exist in school zones throughout NY State.  The NY Post Editorial has changed that narrative somewhat.

Here's exactly what the Editorial Board at the Post signed on for:

"If a car going more than 40 mph hits an 8-year-old, that child’s likely going to be maimed or killed. And The Post clocked multiple vehicles in the high 30s and low 40s Thursday — all in a school zone whose speed cameras stand disabled because the state Senate didn’t reauthorize them....   In all, we recorded dozens of speedsters rushing past PS 124 in Park Slope, each a potential killer if school were in session....   Which is why the Senate has to come back and pass the speed-camera bill before school starts up again in the fall....   Happily, the Times-Union reports that Senate Majority Leader John Flanagan is already canvassing his members about coming back for a special session. Since the bill has broad bipartisan support, it should be easy enough to get a quorum to do the job....  [***  >>> By all accounts, the holdup has been Sen. Simcha Felder, the Democrat who provides the key vote to make Flanagan majority leader. <<<  *** ;  emphasis mine] Yet it’s not just unconscionable to give Felder (or anyone else) a veto here, it’s political suicide: Every vulnerable Republican will face opposition ads charging that senator with endangering kids’ lives. And if they lose one seat, Felder is irrelevant....   Yes, the blame here goes far beyond Flanagan or Felder: City Hall’s efforts to lobby the Legislature range from vacuous to imperious, neither of which helps get things done. And the Assembly has its own long string of failures to tighten traffic-safety laws....   But it’s up to Flanagan now: Pass the camera bill, or wind up with blood on your hands...."  (See "Albany must fix the speed camera mess"  [entitled "Kids Before Politics" in the NY Post print editions]  NY post Editorial Board, 7/26/18 [print editions 7/27/18],  NY Post/ Opinion/ Editorial   [https://nypost.com/2018/07/26/albany-must-fix-the-speed-camera-mess/]).

MARTY GOLDEN IN THE CROSS HAIRS  [Along with Felder]

Make no mistake about this   ---   the speed camera issue will be a big deal in any 2018 general election between Marty Golden and either Andy-boy Gounardes or Barkin'-at-the-moon Barkan.  If the Flanagan and the GOP leadership in the state senate (including Marty himself) don't fix this,  Marty Golden will lose the 22nd S.D. seat for the GOP,  once and for all,  and it will happen in 2018.

That's why this is a fight between Golden and Felder.  And even though it's buried in the undercard, it's a fight that Marty must win to survive.....

--- THANKS VERY MUCH, FOR SAVING ME THE TROUBLE ---

Maybe, Marty G's consultants can put this line in a mailer and spend some of his $$$$$ sending it to everybody in the district.

IT WILL WORK AS GOOD AS ANYTHING ELSE IF THE SPEED-CAMS AREN'T REAUTHORIZED FAST --- AND TAKE THAT TO THE BANK WHERE MARTY KEEPS ALL THAT CASH.....

To borrow a line from all the "Anonymous said... at [Bobby C.]" comments: "Ah-hahahaha !!!!!"

  4. Gail, the school zone speed-cam fiasco is the perfect storm for all of us in the anti-Golden alliance. It shows how Marty Golden and all of his Republican allies in the State Senate are the frauds that they always have been when it comes to children's safety issues. It also renews all of the questions surrounding the coverup of Golden's vehicular homicide due to his high speed driving in Bay Ridge.

  5. Nobody cares about these stupid cameras except a couple of moms who were already voting for the democrat Ross Barkan.

    ReplyDelete
  6. Daniel J. Slavin has my vote!

    ReplyDelete
  7. The dems are going to win the state senate across the board. Felder has a tough primary and Barkan has Marty getting a daily beat down from the press.

NOT EVEN MARTY GOLDEN'S CROWD CAN BE THAT STUPID.....

Does the following comment look legit to you ? "Nobody cares about these stupid cameras except a couple of moms who were already voting for the democrat Ross Barkan....

That comment sure looks phony to me.

    ReplyDelete
  14. Gail, you need to make your commenters to talk more about Marty Golden attacking school kids, moms and grandmothers.

    ReplyDelete
  15. 8:40 Ross you need to find a district where people will take your rumor mongering race baiting loony leftist views seriously and stop slamming the door in your face when you're canvassing.

YOU KNOW AS WELL AS I DO THAT I CAN'T EVEN GET SOMEBODY IN MY CIRCLE OF BSIs TO POST COMMENTS IN ANY RELIABLE WAY TO COME OUT THE WAY "WE" ALL WANT.....

You've even gone so far as to partially repeat or suggest something whose provenance is completely in doubt --- that either Marty Golden or anybody associated with him has openly attacked moms.

Even if one of the idiots on his staff were to send something like that up as a trial balloon, Marty would shoot it down as soon as he heard about it.

TO: "ANONYMOUS SAID... AT 8:53 AM"

"... AT 8:40" IS NOT ROSS BARKAN --- PERIOD, FULL STOP

"Anonymous said... at 8:40 AM" is somebody that is well known to me (in fact, one of my best BSIs), who chose this morning to try to make a point and bust my balls at the same time. This ball-buster knows exactly what I was talking about in my prior comment way up above at "July 30, 2018 at 12:10 AM" because we had a conversation about it last night.

I repeat, it wasn't Ross Barkan.....

    ReplyDelete
  19. Ever since Gouenardes dropped out the attacks on Barkan have been non stop

    ReplyDelete
  20. Gail, I hope I didn't hurt your little acorns too much.

Yes, we did talk about your main post and your doubts about who posted the original comments about "moms"; however, you never explained or justified why your headline suggested that the Golden people did the post, while your text implied that they did not. It all sounds a little crazy, irresponsible and unreliable.

I HOPE THAT YOU ARE BLOGGING ON YOUR OWN LAP-TOP ON YOUR LUNCH HOUR.....

FIRST, WE WERE TALKING ABOUT A >>> COMMENT <<< BY GALEWYN MASSEY >>> NOT A MAIN POST <<<

SECOND, THE HEADLINE IN THE COMMENT "... JULY 30, 2018 AT 12:10 AM" WAS INTENDED TO BE PROVOCATIVE; AND IT WAS IN THE FORM OF A QUESTION --- THE TEXT OF THE COMMENT WAS A STATEMENT OF MY REAL OPINION --- AND I ALREADY FULLY EXPLAINED ALL OF THAT TO YOU

Is there any other point that you are trying to make ???

BECAUSE IF THERE IS, I'M STILL NOT GETTING IT.....

    ReplyDelete
  22. "...Gounardes dropped out..." by 926 is definitely by Barkan.

I'm sorry, Galewyn, if you think that's "trolling", because Barkan sure is.

  24. 10:23 for some reason Barkan's "better things to do" includes hanging out at this Republican blog for hours at a time hoping to get some attention since the voters keep shutting the door in his face when he starts talking.

    ReplyDelete
  25. The democratic primary for senate ended when the national group grassroots endorsed Barkan. A network of activists with 19 registered chapters in Brooklyn. Gournardes was relying on the same old tired pols who backed him in his losing senate race 6 years ago. Times have changed. Bay Ridge has changed.

    ReplyDelete
  26. "Bay Ridge has changed" has been the rallying cry of the Democrats for the last forty years. Hasn't changed that much politically since Democrats keep losing and even Brannan only won by 500 votes and he had all the headwinds of the ConCon. Ross fell for this shpiel and now finds himself in a place where nobody cares about his views with only a fraction of the money and support Gounardes has and ready to take an absolute shellacking on primary day.

    ReplyDelete
  27. You are using "head winds" when you really should use "tail winds".

Are you Marty Golden's PR person and "Asst. Chief of Staff," John Quaglione, who is the very same person that lost to Justin Brannan in 2017?

    ReplyDelete
  28. Let's call Marty Golden "Joe Golden", because the dynamic that will make him the loser in 2018 is not the Big Blue wave of Democrats over Republicans, but fresh new blood kicking out broken down old Irish hack hasbeens like Joe Crowley and "Joe" Hynes.

    ReplyDelete
  29. Its great to see even the GOP is on board with Barkan.

Come election day Justin will understand that leadership does not come from the club house hacks.

    ReplyDelete
  30. First assemblyman Saperstein

    Next..Senator Steven Saperstein..SSS

    ReplyDelete
  31. Saperstein and his folks have alienated too many already ..ask Donovan

    ReplyDelete
  32. What genius on Saperstein's team thought it would be good for him to speak to 6 people in downtown yesterday? News flash-- that's not in the 46th..should have been knocking on door IN the district..why he will lose again

    ReplyDelete
  33. 4:40 probably the same person who thought it would be a good idea to team up with Ray Denaro and back Grimm for Congress and insult Marty Golden.

    ReplyDelete
  34. 4:40 Saperstein (as can be seen on his and his team's social media accounts) has been out knocking doors every single day, in every single ED in AD 46, since the day he announced. Let's cut the petty bs and rally behind the only serious Republican candidate in Brooklyn.
Also, last I checked it's not illegal to speak to a great group of young Republicans.

    ReplyDelete
  35. that is unbelievable 8:53 above. I mean unbelievable. You say Sap "has been out knocking on doors every single day in every single ED". Really unbelievable that every day Sap knocks on doors in every single ED.

    Any other bullshit ?

TO: "ANONYMOUS SAID... AT 8:53 PM" & "... AT 10:53 PM"

SOMEBODY IS QUITE OVEROUGHT..... AND SOMEBODY ELSE FOCUSED ON THE HOLE AND NOT THE DONUT.....

"Anonymous said... at 10:53" is right about this --- "Every single day... every single ED... since the day he announced..." was a little much; but, this was by far the more egregious faux pas "...the only serious Republican candidate in Brooklyn...."

Are these kinds of comments part of one of those famed "Steeplechase Strategies" ?????

Instead, maybe, somebody should invest some campaign spendolas in Dale Carnegie's venerable book; I'm sure it's still in print and available somewhere on line.

    ReplyDelete
  37. How much is steeplechase ripping Steve off for?

    ReplyDelete
  38. Is it any wonder while Golden and Malliotakis have endorsed Saperstein, but Donovan has not..so much for Saperstein's camp saying no ill will for him and Denaro supporting Grimm

    ReplyDelete
  39. Actually it’s the other way around. Donovan is begging Assemblyman saperstein for his endorsement.

    ReplyDelete
  40. Well someone here is clearly jealous and has Steeplechase Strategies derangement syndrome.
Assemblyman Saperstein is paying Daniel J. Slavin big money from his bar Mitvah fund.

    ReplyDelete
  41. The most important thing ANY consultant immediately can say to Steve Saperstein about this assembly campaign (and all his campaigns after it) is this: "Be sure to keep a quarter in your pocket to call your nearest loved one; and at the appropriate time near the end of this campaign, you should tell them that you will never win an elective office in Brooklyn. It's better if it comes from you."

    ReplyDelete
  42. Don't worry, Ted Ghorra will fix everything for Steve, because he really cares about the GOP winning in the 46th AD.
Just you all wait and see.
Remember, it only takes one more "s" to change "cares" into "caress"; and Ted Ghorra is the biggest "s" I know in the Brooklyn GOP.

    ReplyDelete
  43. When Ted and Saperstein win, it will be something Eaton never could do-- a Republican winning whose district is entirely in brooklyn

Just how much thought went into this one: "When Ted and Saperstein win, it will be something Eaton never could do-- a Republican winning whose district is entirely in brooklyn...." ???

Why don't you think very hard and see if you can get the name "MARTY GOLDEN" to pop into your head..... Now, think real hard about all the time that former KCRP Chairman Eaton was GOP County Leader.

Now what do you think ?????

    ReplyDelete
  45. Eaton and Capano are in a slumber this election year, sidelined by the cat man

    ReplyDelete
  46. 742, yes, Eaton, Capano and the very influential guy you call "the cat man" ery much "ARE ON THE SIDELINES" in the 22nd S.D. race this year. On the other hand, you are whacked out of your mind if you believe that they "are in a slumber this election year".

LOOK, HERE COME THE CHEERLEADERS! It's Eaton, Capano and the very influential guy you call "the cat man", and are on the same sideline huddled together and probably plotting something BIG for a little later in 2018.

SIS-BOOM-BAH-RAH-RAH-RAH! OMG, they are doing a political pyramid (scheme?)

Guess what, all that Eaton, Capano and the very influential guy you call "the cat man" noise and falderal is NOT coming from anywhere near Marty G's side of the field.

    ReplyDelete
  47. When Ted Ghorrah secures a win for Sap, the Gop will then truly be stronger than it ever was with Eaton... Everyone who’s anyone knows the only reason Q lost was because he had no help from the Gop and a shitty campaign manager. If Ted knows what’s good for him he’ll fix his mistake.

    ReplyDelete
  48. Q lost because GOP had no infrastructure to support and Jerry Kassar decided to take over GOTV which was a disaster. Ted didn't even show up to Q office grand opening. Afraid that Ted might secure same "win" for Sap that he did for Grimm in Brooklyn primary against Donovan.

    ReplyDelete
  49. Saperstein will win because everyday he knocks on every door in brooklyn and some in Queens and staten island.

    ReplyDelete
  50. I know people in The Bronx who also had Saperstein knock on the door everyday

    ReplyDelete
  51. Everybody, stop the BS. Facts are facts.

At this stage of the 2018 campaign, Steve Saperstein does not have one thing going on with or for his run for the Assembly in the 46th AD, inside the GOP or anyplace else, that looks, sounds or feels like a winning effort. He isn't even close to the things that Quaglione was doing one year ago in much of the same geographic territory.

Steve Saperstein will be lucky if he attains the latest Republican election standard for a
"good showing" in the 46th, 40%. If he winds up running against Ethan Lustig-Elgrably, Saperstein's numbers will more likely be in the low 30s, because Mark Treyger will want to prove that he's a powerhouse all over the 46th AD like he is from Seagate across to Manhattan Beach and everything south of Bay Parkway.

    ReplyDelete
  52. Jerry Kassar wants to show that he's a powerhouse too and this year he is determined to show that his St. Bernadette's strategy really will work, even with a candidate named "Saperstein"..

    ReplyDelete
  53. It's a shame because Steve started off strong and seemed to be uniting all the various factions even Q and Liam supporters. Then he started drinking the Steeplechase Kool Aid with Alexandra and Robert. Let Lucretia and Ray run things and started supporting Grimm. Bet he's still on hold for Ron Carara.

    ReplyDelete
  54. Steve is not a bad guy..terrible he listens to the wrong people again ..

    ReplyDelete
  55. sounds like 12:54 didnt get the contract

    ReplyDelete
  56. I just heard someone knocking on my door.

    It must be Steve Saperstein.

    ReplyDelete
  57. I heard today that the Vito interns are campaign manager and consultant ...from bad to worse for Saperstein..how does Steve not see folks are laughing at him, and that he has no chance and saying Quaglione would have a much better chance to actually win...

Bet he's lucky of he raises $5,000 in next filing as people see what is happening.

    ReplyDelete
  58. Daniel J Slavin is my campaign manager.

-Steve Saperstein I don’t blog but when I do. Daniel j. Slavin is the best!

  80. Saperstein should be the next Republican Kings County Leader. Everything about him is typical of the current retrograde state of the Brooklyn GOP.

    ReplyDelete
  81. Whoa! Hold on folks.

Are we talking about the same Steve Saperstein, who said back in June that he wanted "Game of Thrones" punishments, including 'naked perp walks', for people that he thought were bad politicians, like Democrat Pam Harris?

Wasn't that the same CRAZY kind of stuff that landed once upon a time Reform Party spokesperson Richard Luthmann in a federal slammer and under psyche eval?

Keep an eye on this Saperstein, I suspect bigger things from him very soon, but he should be booked on the 'Gong Show' not running for the New York Assembly.

    ReplyDelete
  82. I hope 8:00 am is kidding about Steve. He's a smart guy with a law degree just involved with idiots running his campaign, happens to many candidates.

    ReplyDelete
  83. 8:05 am. Are you reading the same things I am? Because from what I’m seeing Steve has people running his campaign from all branches. He has people from the Eaton days, and he has people from the Ghorra days. He even has people workong for him who have been around before Eaton and Ghorra were even in the picture. Now that’s experience.

    ReplyDelete
  84. 8:42 perhaps he does but he must have assembled all the village idiots from the various factions and is having them run his campaign. Game of thrones? Supporting Grimm? Lucretia? A YR event in downtown Brooklyn with five people? Going to kill his credibility and fundraising too.

I never thought I'd say this, but even Craig Eaton, Russell Gallo, and Eugene Berardelli are now part of the good old days of the Brooklyn GOP. '... those were the days... Mister, we could use a man like Herbert Hoover again...'

    ReplyDelete
  99. I have to agree with 11:57 wholeheartedly. I was never a fan of them, I thought they were the problem but little did I know is that they were all that was standing in the way of a complete Conservative Party takeover of the Brooklyn GOP.

  100. If Eaton is so great why has he been sidelined from Cats from supporting anybody in his own state Senate race??????????????
Any links to any comments by Eaton about anybody in the race???

    ReplyDelete
  101. Cats and Eaton are good friends and both happen to be very shrewd politically. They're not going to go against Golden unless there is strong evidence that he could lose, and so far Andrew and Ross are frightening no one and neither is all of the internal polling which is showing a big win for Golden. That could change however if Cats decides to raise $250,000 against Golden as he had vowed to do after Jerry went after him when he ran for Mayor. And the way things are looking now, the contest between Andrew and Ross is going to divide the party and it is going to make what happened between that fat turkey Justin and Pastor El-Yateem look like a love fest.

    ReplyDelete
  102. 1220 pm
    Get facts straight
Cats is with Golden , he said so explicitly in an email to Craig and many others that was spread around that was a real slap to eaton..

As far as Eaton "not going against Golden unless strong evidence he can lose", boy that is real leadership people yearn for again right????

He gets no credit if Marty, Andrew, or Ross wins since he is on the sidelines in his own Senate race..embarrassing for a former Borough party "chairman"

    ReplyDelete
  103. 12:48 must suck to be so out of the loop you have to parrot whatever they tell you. Cats email of support for Golden was tepid to say the least and disappointing to people who had promised Golden they'd deliver his strong support. Cats has a long memory. If Cats was supporting Golden strongly Bob would never have given Reform line to Andrew. Stick that in your pipe and smoke it.

  105. So Cats is with Golden while Eaton dithers..

    ReplyDelete
  106. Cats is with Eaton laughing at all the Golden sycophants sweating over whether Cats will come out strongly to help Gounardes or Barkan in order to pay back Golden for what his staff did to him in the past. Go ahead mention the "email" and the "mentoring" tweet but Cats has a long memory and Golden knows that.

    ReplyDelete
  107. Cats IS with Golden ..noone is sweating anything ...Cats wouldn't make a fool of himself by switching allegiances now...golden and Cats are together while Eaton is boxed out and looks silly..

  108. RESPONSE: THE "JUST THE FACTS, M'A'M" EDITION

TO: "ANONYMOUS SAID... AT 12:48 PM"; "... AT 1:42 PM"; "... AT 1:49 PM"; "... AT "2:07 PM"; AND A FEW EARLIER COMMENTS I'M SURE

CRAIG EATON IS ABSOLUTELY NOT SIDELINED IN 2018 BY JOHN CATSIMATIDIS OR ANYBODY ELSE --- IN FACT HE HAS EXPRESSED AN INTEREST IN SUPPORTING A MAJOR POLITICAL EFFORT IN BROOKLYN IN 2018 ALONG WITH ME AND BOB CAPANO.....

YOU ARE THE ONE WHO IS "LYING" WHEN YOU SAY THINGS LIKE THIS "CATS IS WITH GOLDEN, HE SAID SO EXPLICITLY IN AN E-MAIL TO CRAIG AND MANY OTHERS THAT WAS SPREAD AROUND [AND] THAT WAS A REAL SLAP TO EATON.."

    FIRST, THERE IS NO EXPLICIT E-MAIL FROM JOHN CATSIMATIDIS EXPRESSING ANY SUPPORT WHATSOEVER FOR THE RE-ELECTION OF STATE SENATOR MARTIN J. GOLDEN IN 2018 --- UNLESS IT HAPPENED IN THE LAST FIFTEEN MINUTES (WHICH I BELIEVE DID NOT HAPPEN);

SECOND, JOHN CATSIMATIDIS WOULD NOT DO ANYTHING THAT IS A "REAL SLAP TO EATON" --- "[MR. CATS' SUPPORT AND CLOSENESS TO EATON IS NEARLY ABSOLUTE, BECAUSE OF ALL THAT THE DID TOGETHER FOR YEARS]" (PARAPHRASED BY ME) --- "PERIOD, FULL STOP" (THAT IS A DIRECT QUOTE ON THAT TOPIC GIVEN IN AN ANSWER THAT I PUT DIRECTLY TO JOHN CATSIMATIDIS >>> EXACTLY ON THE SUBJECT OF WHETHER HE WAS IN FULL SUPPORT OF EATON <<<)

If Marty Golden is so secure in his alleged "lead" in internal polls, why the desperation in showing somebody/anybody/everybody that John Catsimatidis will not be strongly supporting Andrew Gounardes against Mr. Golden after openly asking Mr. Gounardes to run in 2018 and promising his support.

Let's see what happens after Andy-boy wins his primary against Barkan --- (HINT: I AM PRETTY SURE THAT I KNOW THAT RIGHT NOW.....)

  109. And the "Golden Fleece" crowd's response: CRICKETS

    ReplyDelete
  110. 6:24- Hear it loud and clear.
Golden is winning with or without loosers like Drunk Capano and the Fat Cat. Kassar and his team will secur a momentous win for the most liked senator in Brooklyn.

    Deal with it.

    ReplyDelete
  111. 7:21 looks like Steeplechase duo is delirious again. Kassar don't have a team any more except the two psychos from the Upper East Side, the one person in the office he thinks is loyal to him celebrates just like everybody else when he gone. Now Liam won't return his calls neither. Upper East side psychos know Cats want nothing to with them so now there mouthing off but will go running if he calls. And Marty told Jerry to keep his mouth shut and not even mention Cats.

    ReplyDelete
  112. More power to Marty. Fleece Sap. Hes got no chance.

    ReplyDelete
  113. You missed the golden fleece symbolism entirely. It's an ancient GREEK symbol of rightful authority and prosperity. The hero Jason was sent on a quest on board the Argus to retrieve the golden fleece and put it into the hands of the proper Greek ruler. In 2018, that proper Greek ruler will be Andrew Gounardes, and Marty Golden will be no more than yesterday's fake news.

TO: THE DELETED COMMENTERS ABOVE & THE REST OF MY FOLLOWERS

WE DON'T NEED THE REPETITIVE PUERILE PERSONAL INVECTIVE THAT KEEPS CREEPING INTO ONE COMMENTS THREAD AFTER ANOTHER ON THIS BLOG

You don't have to be nice. You can even choose to be disagreeable when you disagree.

However, long strings of the same old tired ad hominem jibes and similarly thoughtless rejoinders that long-ago were past their "sell-by date" won't make the cut here.

  121. UPDATE: THE "STILL MORE FROM CAPANO" EDITION

    >>> COLUMNIST <<< BOB CAPANO USES HIS WEEKLY COLUMN AS A BULLY PULPIT TO TAKE DEMOCRAT CANDIDATE ROSS BARKAN TO THE WOODSHED

Taking over a slot once held by Jerry Kassar as Brooklyn's top self-declared conservative-leaning columnist, Reform Party Chairman Bob Capano showed his growing power and influence by putting upstart leftist candidate Ross Barkan in his place.

Here's how Capano began hitting the Barkan nail with his columnist's hammer --- "We got an example of this unfortunate new normal in political campaigns here in Brooklyn last week, where this columnist was cast as the star of the show.... One of the Democratic candidates in Brooklyn’s 22nd Senate District, Ross Barkan, attacked me as “anti-immigrant” to score some political points.... Some background is needed to understand Barkan’s script. The Brooklyn Reform Party, of which I am chairman, voted to give a Wilson-Pakula authorization to both Republican state Sen. Marty Golden and Barkan’s Democratic primary opponent, Andrew Gounardes. If both would have accepted this authorization it would have resulted in a Reform Party primary between the two in September. However, Golden declined this authorization, while Gounardes accepted...." (See "Barkan up the wrong tree: The slippery slope candidate Ross is walking down" by Bob Capano, 8/2/18, Courier Life's Brooklyn Daily/ Opinion/ "The Right View" [https://www.brooklyndaily.com/stories/2018/31/all-right-view-capano-vs-barkan-bd_2018_31.html]). See the rest for yourself, it's shows what Capano is capable of doing from his new Olympian perch.

Having his own journalistic background, Ross Barkan should have seen this coming. Now, let's see what he does back, if anything. I suspect that he will up the ante for Capano's next hand. This could be some real good stuff, indeed.....

    ReplyDelete
  122. Capano's hard hitting and provocative columns are certainly the top in Brooklyn today, replacing Kassar. They are spread these days like wild fire on social media, etc.

In this column he takes shots at both Golden and Barkan, wow!

And it it read all over Brooklyn

  125. Who can blame anyone for being envious of Ross.

    ReplyDelete
  126. 11:27 is so right.

Marty is an easy target and Barkan is the only one to take him on.

    ReplyDelete
  127. Is Craig Eaton with Barkan

    ReplyDelete
  128. If you know Craig Eaton, you know that Ross Barkan has a better shot at his support than somebody whose initials are M(arty). G(olden). But you can be sure that, because of Catsimatidis, Eaton is probably holding back for Gounardes in the fall.

    ReplyDelete
  129. Sorry to disappoint certain people but the polling for Marty against either Barkan or Gounardes is very strong including a poll by Democratic committee which is why DC 37 already endorsed Golden. Couple that with imbecile Justin Brannan’s scorced earth attacks against all Republicans in the borough and the more likely it is that Cats and Eaton will sit this one out. Gounardes win doesn’t seem possible and too many mixed allegiances make it unlikely that it is a risk either Cats or Eaton will take.

    ReplyDelete
  130. Cats is with Golden ..Eaton is on the sidelines

    ReplyDelete
  131. Cats and Eaton aren’t endorsing Gounardes or Barkan they are friends and on the same page about this.

    ReplyDelete
  132. So Eaton is following Cats and with Golden..good to know 615

    ReplyDelete
  133. Barkan never heard of Eaton

    ReplyDelete
  134. If Cats and eaton made an endorsement in dem senate primary does anyone think it would change one single vote?

    ReplyDelete
  135. DC 37 and 1199 endorsed Golden. Those endorsements count.

    ReplyDelete
  136. Cats and Eaton by default are with Golden

    ReplyDelete
  137. Looks like Justin has been crying to Treyger again. After becoming the laughinstock of South Brooklyn by forcing his own chief of staff out of the Assembly race, Treyger has to put on a dog and pony show outside of Golden’s Office to make it look like Justin got more than the reported free box of twinkies for selling out McCreight.

    ReplyDelete
  138. Justin gave mccreight a job. Is he also responsible for getting him elected to office?

    ReplyDelete
  139. Justin would be no where without Chris doing all the dirty work. Truth is Justin tried to help his boy by keeping Andrew out of the race and it worked but that’s all he can do is basically lie to gullible people. When it came time to face Treyger fatboy was told to go home and get his shine box. And that’s exactly what he did.

    ReplyDelete
  140. whatever you say justin

    ReplyDelete
  141. Last week Marty Golden said that he is happy being DC-37's voice in Albany. You can't get more un-Republican or un-Conservative than that. How long are Republicans and Conservatives going to keep letting a back-stabbing cock-sucker like Marty Golden do stuff like this.

    ReplyDelete
  142. Golden has a coalition of democrats, labor, activists.

He'll win by the usual 8 to 12 points.

    ReplyDelete
  143. Golden will win by at least 15 probably more. Just like last time. Fat ass Justin will make his usual excuses happy that he didn't have to work too hard to pretend he was helping Andrew. Max Rose will also lose and fat ass Justin will tell Mike DeCillis that next time he really will support him as long as he keeps doing Justin's bidding.

    ReplyDelete
  144. Golden will win by at least 95 points but if McCreight ran Golden would have lost.

  150. In all seriousness, I hear Saperstein campaign so far has no plan, strategy , or realistic goals for fundraising or mail..it's what happens when you let the children run the show

    ReplyDelete
  151. As of today Steve Saperstien has

    1. raised sufficient funds to win

    2. secured the nominations of all relevant political parties

    3. hired the right staff with a winning track record

Meanwhile, the democrats are cutting each other to ribbons

    ReplyDelete
  152. 440
Liam lost his own race and big with Grimm

    The interns never won

    What winning track record?????

    ReplyDelete
  153. The "winning" track record is in Steve's overactive imagination and faulty perception of politics.

    ReplyDelete
  154. The winning track record is Steve has secured the right party lines for a win in November. Grimm and Liam never did that.

    ReplyDelete
  155. Looks like Sap has it all together

    ReplyDelete
  156. Seems like Golden campaign got their asses handed to them at stroll again tonight being vastly outnumbered and outhustled by Gounardes and Barkan volunteers. Quaglione crying about it all over social media.

    ReplyDelete
  157. Steve will win in a district that he ran in before against two zero democrats. Four lines , solid fundraising, and he is genuinely a nice guy that connects with voters. The guy is working his ass off and good for him.

    ReplyDelete
  158. Barkan has the big Mo

    ReplyDelete
  159. Steve ran for City Council with much more money in a district that voted 75% for Trump and he couldn’t get 40% of the vote against a candidate that makes Ethan and Mathylde look like rock stars. Seems like in the general he’ll do worst than his buddy Ray Denaro did against Treyger. Another wasted opportunity.

    ReplyDelete
  160. Golden crew all over internet crying about what happened to them tonight. Pitiful operation. Boss Brannan showin em how its done. Now that he and Treyger are on the same team watch out.

    ReplyDelete
  161. 8:37 Hey Justin. Got nothing better to do than troll blogs at night? Go take another look in the fridge and occupy yourself with the cakes and cookies in there. And don’t lie everyone knows you and Mark are further apart than ever. Sweet dreaming about that pulled pork sandwich.

    ReplyDelete
  162. 8:32
Steve won the assembly district overlap going against democrat incumbent with orthodox Jewish vote was too much plus all of the unions. Are you mad when you ran you only got 30 percent against Cymbrowitz even better for GOP?

  164. Hooray for the Democrats who are ready to drive the Republicans from the streets of Bay Ridge with 'Truth Squads", and nobody cares what John Quaglione thinks about it.

    ReplyDelete
  165. Coming this fall, a way for Republicans to work openly against Republican candidates they don't support in the general election and get away with it. Ahahahahaha..

    ReplyDelete
  166. As of today Steve Saperstien has

    1. raised $50,000, when $250,000 was the minimum required for a real race

    2. secured the nominations of all irrelevant political parties

    3. gotten some off-the-rack help from the Republican Assembly Campaign Committee, the Special Olympics of legislative PACs in New York. Plus interns!
