Here’s the straight skinny as it appeared in the New York Daily News today --- “ ‘The Daily News' City Council picks: Brooklyn’…. EDITORIALS SEP 5, 2017…. On to Daily News endorsements in Council races that look to be serious contests in the Sept. 12 primaries…. Voters in District 43 (Bay Ridge and Dyker Heights) have primaries in both parties…. Republicans should go with Bob Capano , who combines real-world experience in the public and private sectors with a proven ability to work across party lines….”
What
more needs to be said. Bob Capano’s “Little
Engine that Could” campaign just keeps chuggin’ along:
“I think I can ! --- I think I can !! --- I think I can !!!”

ReplyDeleteWhen Capano wins tuesday will still be excuses. .hahahaha
ReplyDeleteGale.
ReplyDeleteWill you be making your predictions for the GOP and Dem council primaries this weekend for us?
RESPONSE: THE "UNPREDICTABILITY FACTOR" EDITION
ReplyDeleteTO: "ANONYMOUS SAID... AT 7:40 AM"
I HAVEN'T DECIDED YET WHETHER TO MAKE ANY PREDICTIONS IN THE 43RD DISTRICT CITY COUNCIL PRIMARIES
THE REPUBLICANS:
The Republican voters have a four-way play on primary day; each of the Republican candidates have made their pitches in their own favored ways. All of them will have their own individual impacts on the outcome on Primary Day.
I have commennded all the GOP candidates in the 43rd District in the past; and nothing has altered my opinion of the fine quality of the field going forward in these last few days of the campaign.
THE DEMOCRATS:
The Democrats are a whole different kettle of fish. The Democrat primary electorate has changed throughout the 43rd Council District. An old saw once told me that at this end of Brooklyn, politics is all about demographics. The presence of Ms. Tong and "The Reverend" El-Yateem on the ballot clearly demonstrates that; and so does their ability to generate campaign funds. The other more traditional Democrat candidates more or less reflect the old organizational fights and feuds inside the ranks of the mainline Democrat activists and their supporters.
My feeling is that the Democrat winner will be whoever wins among the traditional Democrat prime voters; that means that I do give Justin Brannan the edge.
PLEASE NOTE: Saying somebody has an edge doesn't come close to predicting that they will win.
Prediction,
ReplyDeleteEl yatim wins and Capano crushes him in general.
3 white male Democrats split the "traditional" lib vote.
You must be kidding me. The news endorsement on the editorial page said we endorse Bob Capano. That's all. Who would even see it. And Capano really to spend his money on something more effective then simply putting that out. He has no go,interest, no signs p, no nothing except this past his prime political commentator that only knew how to lose a race.
ReplyDelete617 pm..as predicted. .always something
ReplyDeleteLucretia will show everyone.
ReplyDeleteShow everyone what?
ReplyDeleteLucretia will show everyone that she has the best relationships with people who own houses on high visibility corner lots
ReplyDeleteIn all seriousness this has been the best Republican primary battle in years in many levels. Not the last of which has been how above board each campaign has been with each other. No negative stuff.
ReplyDeletehas 7:34 been in a capsule

I am afraid that it might be YOU that is in a capsule and hurtling into the void at near lightspeed.....
It all fell to pieces when Arnaldo was dethroned
ReplyDeleteMarty crushed arnaldo like a grape
ReplyDeleteIs crushing Arnaldo like a grape all that Marty Golden has accomplished by taking over the Brooklyn GOP?
ReplyDeleteSo Gale is this how it wraps up? A second rate newspapers endorsement of a third rate candidate?
ReplyDeletewe know how this goes, capano wins pimary tuesday then 915 am spends 2 months saying capano cant win general because he supports Trump, then capano wins general, then 915am spends 4 years saying capano cant get re-elected, then capano wins re-election..you get the point..
ReplyDeleteahahahahahahahahah

RE: YOUR OBSERVATIONS ABOUT "ANONYMOUS SAID AT... 9:15 AM [AND OTHER PRIOR COMMENTERS]"
You raise a very good point. Somebody out there (or SOME BODIES out there) keep(s) repeating comments with the recurrent theme that --- even if Bob Capano were to win the primary, his positions make it impossible to win in the general election in November.
This is the sort of thing that can become a self-fulfilling prophesy if you let it. Alas, that is something that I think that we Republicans in Brooklyn have long been prey to..... But, I must say your riposte put it all into very stark relief. And that was a relief to me all on its own.
Oh yeah right. Bay Ridge is fertile trump territory. Are you on something?
ReplyDeleteHow many times does capano have to lose before he takes a hint?
