FLASH UPDATE: OLD GOLDEN HAND GETS A BIG PLUM AT THE BOE

Ray Riley gets the $133,250/year GOP plum at the top of the tree at the Brooklyn BOE  ---  But, what about Georgea,  didn't she want this  ? ? ?

Is the book closing on Diane Haslett-Rudiano  ? ? ?

Doesn’t Ted Ghorra even have a clue that HE should have made this pick  ---  BUT  ---  Does a “rubber stamp” need to have a clue about anything  ? ? ?

One of my best insider contacts just sent me this in an E-mail:
“….   The city Board of Elections has hired a new chief clerk for the Brooklyn borough office, nearly a year after kicking up a swirl of controversy for improperly purging voters from its rolls….   Raymond J. Riley, a Republican from Brooklyn, will replace Diane Haslett-Rudiano, who had been suspended without pay since last April….   The post is responsible for overseeing operations at the Brooklyn borough office and comes with a six-figure salary. In 2016, the position paid $133,250 according to BOE records….   Brooklyn Deputy Clerk Betty Ann Canizio, a Democrat, remains suspended without pay, because of the investigation into the purge….   According to the BOE’s rules, when a voter is removed from the roles, it requires approval by two staff members — a Republican and Democrat….   An acting deputy clerk continues to serve in that [Democrat] role….”

This is ONE of the reasons that Marty Golden wanted to have control of the GOP's piece of the Brooklyn Board  --- DIRTY PAY-OFFS to his friends and supporters.....   BUT WHAT ABOUT THE LAWYERS INVOLVED IN ALL THIS DIRTY DEALING  ---  TED GHORRA  &  SIMON SHAMOUN  ? ? ?  What a pair of jamokes ! ! !

  1. The investigation into the purge should have taken about 2 weeks. It was over a year ago. Besides everyone knows the purge was done to help Hillary in primary against Bernie. We can add this to the list of things Chairman Ted Gonahrea is clueless about.

  2. Ever since George Clark handed over the county leaders post to that short guy Pantangeli I thought Gerry O'Brien was the de facto county leader.

  3. The best part is Betty Ann Caggiano is still suspended without pay, sitting at home filing her nails thinking Seddio is going to get her job back. Who will take Caggiano's place? Kevin Carrol I'd bet

  4. This John Gangemi race for District Attorney may not be a sure thing.

  5. So who gets Ray's almost-as-cushy-job at Maimonides?

  6. Brooklyns hospitals are where the Big Fish swim in the patronage swamp.

  7. Getting Ray this position was a major coup
Proves that no matter who is the "Chair" of the GOP
Marty Golden is still the KING around these parts
That's why Quaglione will win the nom in September

  8. Big difference is that Ray wanted this job. John "The Walking Ambien" Quaglione says he ... uh ... zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz.

  9. If Marty is KING how come he has to make a deal with Justin and Kevin Carroll to prevent someone from running against the KING?

  12. A lot of us love Marty Golden. And we're voting for Liam.

No matter how much Q's cronies try to spin it, we're for Marty and Liam.

  13. Marty in the Senate and Liam in the Council.

That kind of team would pack quite a punch for the community.

  14. Marty will destroy McCabe and Obrien very soon!

  15. Sounds like somebody really wants to pit Liam against Marty.

Liam is smarter than that. And he likes Marty too much.

  21. RESPONSE: THE "NOT CULTURAL APPROPRIATION" EDITION

TO: "ANONYMOUS SAID... AT 5:42 AM"

"SHE PROBABLY WAS HAVING SLEEPING...." --- SERIOUSLY ??? I MEAN SERIOUSLY !!!

Mimicking the pidgin English of certain local immigrants is a nostalgic mode of "racist" humor --- one of my favorites being Mickey Rooney's character, Mr. Yunioshi, in "Breakfast at Tiffany's".....

Today, some might attack most of it as a kind of "cultural appropriation"; however, that kind of jibe really was/is intended to convey the cultural superiority of our Americanized-Northern-Eurocentric-WASPishness.

QUIZ: SO, WHO THINKS I MEAN IT'S A GOOD THING ????? AND, WHO THINKS I MEAN IT'S A BAD THING ??? --- Velly solly, me no tell.....

  22. Not pidgin English. Merely a typo.

I meant to say, "She probably was having sleeping problems," but merely writing about Q made my eyelids droop, and I posted without proofreading it.
