GOP battle lines being drawn over Southwest Brooklyn Council seat --- Is this just an endorsement ???

GOP Coalition Endorses Capano in Brooklyn City Council Race (CD-43)  ---  Capano’s  “…Business, Education & Community Experience Make Him the Right Pick for Bklyn GOP Voters…”  ---  Dany Esquilin

Capano communications rep Rob Ryan sends out release for the  >>> Capano Campaign <<<

QUESTION REMAINS  ---  IS THERE A CONTINUING WAR FOR CONTROL OF THE BROOKLYN GOP

Here is the body of the text in the Capano-Ryan release announcing the endorsement:

“…   Bob Capano, the leading Republican candidate for Brooklyn's 43rd Council District (Bay Ridge, Dyker Heights, Bath Beach, Bensonhurst) and staunch supporter of the NYPD was endorsed today by the Kings County GOP Coalition. The Coalition is made up of Brooklyn Republican State Committee Members, community leaders, and grassroots GOP activists and voters….   Dany Esquilin, Chairman of the Kings County GOP Coalition stated, ‘Bob Capano is our candidate in this race. He is the Republican that best represents the change our voters yearn for today. Bob is not part of the status quo political establishment. Unlike his Republican primary opponents, who have spent their careers working for elected officials and living off the taxpayers' dime,  Bob has real-world experience managing a business and teaching high school and college students. As “Citizen Capano”, he has already been on the front lines fighting Mayor de Blasio's far-left policies. He offers the new leadership that Brooklyn Republicans so desperately need.’…”
For his part,  Bob Capano, a Bay Ridge resident and graduate of Saint Patrick's elementary school and Xaverian High School responded to the endorsement as follows:   “I am grateful for the support of Chairman Esquilin and the Kings County GOP Coalition. Their Coalition represents grassroots Republicans who are looking for leaders who will fight for our shared values and are not part of the business as usual crowd that is running our city into the ground. Mayor de Blasio's progressive policies are progressively bad for New York City, and I will continue to fight against them with every fiber I have. Brooklyn deserves better.”

The question remains whether the Kings County GOP Coalition is setting up a shadow Kings County Republican Organization and is using the Capano Campaign as a catalyst or sword in it’s bigger battle to regain control of the Brooklyn GOP from the Golden-Ghorra cabal that was put into its current position by a court order and not support by the GOP rank & file. Let's see what kind of petitions the Esquilin group circulates.....

  1. Odd how bob feels the need to list the grade school he went to. I just assumed he finished the 8th grade, but maybe not.

Is he willing to release the transcripts?

  2. Gale,
If you fail to address the fact that Q & McCabe continue to dodge the issue of Independent Theater then the credibility of this blog is called into question.

    The silence is deafening.

  3. Has anyone noticed that everything with bob is bullshit?

  4. "Leading Candidate" by what measure? Is it the candidate who has talked the biggest game and raised by far the least amount of money? Is the part where his interns start posting promises of him raising $50,000 in the next filing?

  5. Bob is committed to helping Brooklyn. Thats why he moved out of it.

  6. All Capano's press releases are the same. They are all a big hype of something that doesn't mean anything. Danny Esquilon has been "active" in the Brooklyn Republican Party for a very long time; mostly doing stuff with Republicans not active in Brooklyn.

Until a few years ago Dannyeeee was deep in the dustbin of history, then Craig Eaton's talent scouts reanimated him and sold him to Eaton. A couple of years ago, Eaton was talking about Dannyeeee being his successor as Republican County Chairman. The most favorable response was from the District Leaders and Executive Committee members that said, "Danny who?" Everybody that knew Dannyeeee told Eaton, "You've got to be kidding."

So much for Danny Esquilon and his Kings County GOP Coalition: nothing in the past, nothing in the present and nothing in the future.

  7. Bob was relying on Catsimatidis running for Mayor to share his resources. Craig was counting on Catsimatidis running too or would have never backed Bob otherwise.

  8. Marty Golden and John Orlando will make sure Gerry Obrien is in the dustbin of history after this primary.

  9. The deal with the IDC is that they will caucus with the dems instead of GOP and part of the deal includes changing the lines on Martys district from 65th street to 36th street.

  10. Dany or however he spells his name was elected Arnaldo's vice chair two years ago.

He never attended any of the Executive Committee meetings Arnaldo and his group held afterwards.

Why would anyone care what Dany thinks now?

  12. All of the comments on this blog sound as though they are coming from swine pigs rolling around in filth.

  13. There is no Brooklyn GOP Coalition. Eaton had an opportunity to contest the State GOP's county convention that elected Ghorra, but he refused to do it. Sour grapes.

Yes it is. Not sure what you mean by "just".

  16. RESPONSE: THE "MANY POSSIBILITIES" EDITION

TO: "ANONYMOUS SAID... AT 8:53 PM"

I ASSUME THAT YOU ARE REFERRING TO THE SECOND HALF OF THE TITLE TO MY POST, WHICH ASKED A VERY IMPORTANT QUESTION --- "... Is this just an endorsement ???"

According to my post, a person - Dany Esquilin - and a political group - the Kings County GOP Coalition apparently jointly and severally endorsed Bob Capano's candidacy to be the Republican GOP candidate for the City Council in the 43rd Counc. Dist.

The headline of the article implied that there was much more to the actions by Mr. Esquilin and the Kings County GOP Coalition than the patently obvious endorsement of Mr. Capano. The third sub-headline was in the form of a question that clearly suggested what that >>> MORE <<< might be, ".... QUESTION REMAINS --- IS THERE A CONTINUING WAR FOR CONTROL OF THE BROOKLYN GOP...."

The text of my post also was multi-faceted, being in two parts and totaling three paragraphs. The first part was two paragraphs, which were quotes from the Rob Ryan press release: paragraph one was what Dany Esquilin had to say about his organization's endorsement of Capano; and paragraph two was what Bob Capano had to say about the Esquilin-Kings County GOP Coalition endorsement(s). The second part was contained in the last paragraph of the piece. That paragraph began like this: ".... The question remains..."; and it was intended to be a brief but provocative description and amplification of the question that was raised in the third sub-headline.

Of course, if none of the questions raised in my post have any meaning or lead only to pointless dead-ends, then what Dany Eesquilin and the Kings County GOP Coalition did was simply "...just an endorsement...".

Winner has to travel all the way to Capano's Staten Island house to shower, while McCabe's dog tries to lick him clean.

  20. McCabe is looking like a better and better bet to be the GOP candidate as time goes by. He's a real campaigner, and Capapuno and Quagleeowney aren't.

  22. Do a search. The name Golden is not an Irish name. Never has been, never was.

    So what exactly is Marty?

  23. Gail,
I misplaced my compass at the last scout meeting. Instead of calling this South West by North East Corridor Council district can you simply say Bay Ridge?

If I follow the directions you give I might wind up in Kingston, and that includes Kingston NY and Jamaica.

Best Regards from Looking for directions at the Shell Station.

  24. RESPONSE: THE "DON'T FORGET THE UNFORGETTABLE" EDITION

TO: "ANONYMOUS SAID... AT 12:54 PM"

My friend "FRAGALFANT" doesn't want anybody to call this a "Bay Ridge" Council Seat. You remember, he's the guy that got the quick promo out of St. Anselm's and up to St. Finbar's, where his most recent photos show that he is channeling his inner Justin Brannan (Sorry, JB).

    ReplyDelete
  25. Is Justin still in this race?

All everyone talks about at Bernies place is El-Yateem and Justin was the Hillary guy.

    ReplyDelete
  26. Justin pushed the good government holier than thou stuff to far. When Justin went back on Gentiles payroll he showed himself to be a hack. Carroll, Justin, Abbate against the progressive El-Yateem.

    ReplyDelete
  27. The DOE actually expected Justin to do real work whether he was running for City Council or not. Peter Abbate will be going over to Gentile's Office soon to measure the drapes.

  28. Speaking of dwarves, I saw Capano at the U-Haul dealer up on New Utretcht. It turns out the poor sucker did move back to Bay Ridge but now he was purchasing used cardboard boxes to move back to his wife's couch in Westerleigh. It brought a tear to my eye seeing the little guy so confused. Just like Liam's story about his dad and the promise by the railroad tracks. What a crock. #Q4U

  29. Capano was going on about Abbate not having a presence in council district claiming Abbates Assembly District only has 25% of council district.

Abbate is a lifelong Bensonhurst resident. Capano lives in staten island.
