Not to be outdone trying to make hay in the late winter sun, Will/Liam McCabe announces a "fundraiser" about a week after Capano’s

It’s scheduled for March 6th @ 7:00 PM  ---  At Chef Andrea’s, 7312 13th Avenue

The event is characterized as a “Kick-off Fundraiser” (where have I seen that before ???),   however, there is little in the way of available information as to sponsorship,  guest appearances or even the minimum expected donation…..

[OTHER DETAILS WHEN AND IF WE GET THEM]

  1. I think the March filing will determine who Republicans should rally around.

  2. The March filing will just show that each of them have money.

  3. UPDATE & BACKFILL: THE "IS JOHN QUAGLIONE GOING TO RUN A SHADOWING-MIMICKING-TROLLING CAMPAIGN ALL THE WAY TO SEPTEMBER ?" EDITION

SUDDENLY REPUBLICAN CANDIDATE JOHN QUAGLIONE ANNOUNCES HIS OWN "CAMPAIGN KICK-OFF EVENT" --- AND GET THIS --- IT'S SCHEDULED FOR "MONDAY, MARCH 6TH, FROM 6PM-9PM" (DOESN'T THAT SOUND VERY FAMILIAR)

Here's something that I saw on Mr. Quaglione's Facebook site this evening (probably posted much earlier at about 9:00 AM on 2/16/17):
"John Quaglione... 15 hrs [at 11:30 PM on 2/16/17] New York... I hope you will join me on Monday, March 6th, from 6PM-9PM, at my campaign kick-off event. Details to follow soon. #WeCanDoBetter #Q4U2017" (See Facebook @John Quaglione [https://www.facebook.com/search/top/?q=john%20quaglione]; see also [https://www.facebook.com/photo.php?fbid=1458993977458607&set=a.580537975304216.1073741827.100000440557673&type=3&theater]).

Once again, it looks like John Quaglione is shadowing and mimicking one of the other GOP candidates running for City Council, Will/Liam McCabe..... McCabe's announced his March 6th "Kick-off Fundraiser" at Chef Andrea's at least as early as 7:05 PM on February 14th (See Facebook: Liam for City Council @BKLiam [https://www.facebook.com/BkLiam/]).

  6. ADDENDUM: THE "WHAT KIND OF ANNOUNCEMENT DID JOHN QUAGLIONE MAKE ANYWAY ! ! !" EDITION

TO: MY OWN "UPDATE & BACKFILL COMMENT AT 9:21 PM" ABOVE

John Quaglione's announcement yesterday of a "campaign kick-off event" mentioned in my earlier comment above DID NOT CONTAIN ANY LOCATION.....

An entry containing a location did not appear until an item from Angela Scarlato popped up on Quaglione's Facebook site earlier this morning and the original post contained in my comment above disappeared..... However, a similar item to the one mention in my comment above still appeared as a Tweet on John's Twitter site, as follows:
"John Quaglione ‏@JQuaglione 23h... 23 hours ago... I hope you will join me on Monday, March 6th, from 6PM-9PM, at my campaign kick-off event. Details to follow soon. #WeCanDoBetter #Q4U2017 (See Twitteer, John Quaglione @JQuaglione [https://twitter.com/JQuaglione]; and also [https://twitter.com/JQuaglione/status/832216018676305920]).

  7. wow Quaglione is really going after McCabe

  8. I remember "Liam" McCabe when his name was Will. It reminds me of another guy who changed his name for political reasons: Warren Wilhelm Jr a.k.a. Bill de Blasio.

    #Q4U2017

  9. Notice the first one to like John Q announcement for MArch 6 on facebook was Georgea and Ray Riley! I would not want to be Liam as clearly they are up to their dirty tricks..

    ReplyDelete
  10. I remember Quag when his name was retard

    ReplyDelete
  11. Everything that John Quaglione has done to Liam McCabe clearly shows that his only motivations for running for the City Council in 2017 are jealousy, a fit of pique and revenge.

    ReplyDelete
  12. I heard Castimides and Capano have the same personal trainer

    ReplyDelete
  13. Do the democrats realize the phone crowd they have running. Justin and Kevin Carroll both have made the Marty deal that nobody runs against him. Dirty politics.

    ReplyDelete
  14. Vito Lopez set up the deal that Marty gets a pass. When Perfetto balked Vito had Hynes toss Perfetto on a trumped up charge so Vito could install Carroll puppet.

    ReplyDelete
  15. Gailey asked me to do this.
To the obviously disgruntled office seeker above, stop acting bananas and just take the money and run. Leave Perfetto and Kevin Peter out of it.... Although that part could help if you wanted to add a c/o/a under civil R.I.C.O.

  16. UPDATE &BACKFILL: THE "LITTLE BIRDIE" EDITION

IN CASE YOU DIDN'T KNOW IT ALREADY..... BRANNAN HAS A BIG BUNCH OF "SMALL DONORS"

During the six-month disclosure period ending in January, Bill de Blasio’s re-election campaign reported receiving contributions from 2,055 unique contributors who gave $175 or less. That was more than any other candidate in the period. These very admirable numbers were followed by those of one, Justin Brannan.

As you should know by now (after all, it's been discussed on this blog), Mr. Brannan is a candidate for the Democratic Party nomination in the 43rd Council District. He formally reported that he ALREADY HAD 480 small contributors.

FYI --- for now, Brannan tops all City Council candidates in his small donor fundraising efforts through the latest disclosure period.

  17. There is visual proof that Liam has been hiding lately. In a Brooklyn Daily Eagle article about David Storobin's endorsement of Liam McCabe, there is a photograph of McCabe 'coming out' from his hiding spot behind Storobin's nose. Given all the cover that McCabe has enjoyed as a result of Storobin, it can fairly be said that McCabe has shown that he is comfortable in exercising his 'penumbral rights.'

    ReplyDelete
  18. Whenever I see a profile shot of Storobin's face, it's clear that he is putting his 'best foot' forward.....

    ReplyDelete
  19. Is storobin going to have the Russians hack into Capano and Quaglione emails?

    ReplyDelete
  20. If shown Georgea running Quaglione campaign from BOE she could be in big trouble.

    ReplyDelete
  21. Capano has received no traction and has essentially been left behind by the legitamite press as a serious effort although he continues to try his best. In some ways it's sad since he is a decent guy, but in reality he has despite his attempts to make it seem otherwise lived on Staten Island for the past five or so years. If I lived in the district and I visit like Bob Bay Ridge often I would know that the community needs someone who does not need to read the blogs to find out what's going on.

    ReplyDelete
  22. I think the writer of this blog knows more then 8:56 and his partisanship for Capano is based on the intimate knowledge of community issues he gets from his wife who is an important realtor. We can assume that she must be advising against Quaglione and McCabe because she certainly wants the best for a community in which quality of life supports property values.

    ReplyDelete
  23. I think the Golden/Kassar folks are very afraid of Craig Eaton and Catsimatidis winning the primary with Capano and that will be a blow they cant recover from.

  24. RESPONSE: THE "I KNOW GALEWYN MASSEY VERY WELL" EDITION

GALEWYN MASSEY IS A FRIEND OF MINE -- AND I KNOW THAT GALEWYN MASSEY HAS MANY CLOSE FRIENDS IN BAY RIDGE -- BUT GALEWYN MASSEY ISN'T MARRIED TO ANYONE, MUCH LESS TO ANY IMPORTANT REALTOR

If you don't believe me, just look it up.....

[YES, GALEWYN MASSEY OFTEN TALKS ABOUT HIMSELF IN THE THIRD PERSON -- AS DOES ONE OF HIS BEST DEMOCRAT FRIENDS]

    ReplyDelete
  25. Gale's wife has nothing to do with his coverage of the Council race.

Truth is, Capano's been a staggering disappointment (a piddling amount raised from a tony circle of friends and family), while Liam is running a campaign that looks more and more like the Little Rascals putting on a play in someone's backyard.

Quag (rhymes with swag) is a candidate mostly in his own mind. He has potential, but it amounted to little in 2013. Nothing's changed. His mindset is the same. His overall approach to politics is the same. And as the saying goes, insanity is doing the same thing over and over while expecting a different result.

    ReplyDelete
  26. So if Capano shows $100,000 for march filing is he the one????????

    ReplyDelete
  27. Capano lives in Staten Island. Past voting patterns show he'll only carry the Staten Island portion of the district.

    ReplyDelete
  28. exactly...nothing Capano does will satisfy his detractors!!!

    ReplyDelete
  29. Capano has been gone from Bay Ridge for a long time and it shows. It doesn't matter if his rich supporters scrounge up extra money to save him from embarrassment but the fact that he had such a poor initial showing does not bode well for his chances. The only reason Quaglione is running is because his bosses forced him to, if Capano wins the primary he has an outside chance of winning the seat, not likely but possible. If Capano wins the general then the Conservatives deal with Abbate goes down the drain because they won't get the no show jobs they were promised.

    ReplyDelete
  30. Capano has a better chance of winning the NYC marathon in October than the primary in September.

    ReplyDelete
  31. Enough 'fake news' from all of the anti-Capano camps, he's never been away for any significant interval from any of the local neighborhoods that make up the 43rd Council District, since he last ran in 2009.

During all of the time that Bob Capano maintained a residence on Staten Island, he was fully involved in Bay Ridge, Dyker Heights and broader Brooklyn politics, as well as many other non-partisan civic activities there. He also had his familial and other personal contacts all around those old Brooklyn neighborhoods.

    ReplyDelete
  32. Right. All of Capanos relatives will get him elected. Meanwhile today McCabe was knocking on the doors of prime voters while Bob sat in front of a computer.

    ReplyDelete
  33. At least Bob knows how to use a computer. Quaglione is still playing catch up.

    ReplyDelete
  34. That's all very nice, I guess. But what nobody on the Republican side seems to get yet is that all three of the candidates mentioned as possibles for the NYC Council spot in Bay Ridge are lugging around some very heavy baggage. The funny thing about it is that each of them, Capano, Quaglione and McCabe, all think that the heaviest steamer trunks chained to their necks are their strongest arguments in both the upcoming primary and general elections.

Capano thinks that his own political hackyness doesn't stink to high heaven, and that his closeness to Craig Eaton and John Katzenjammer, and his 100% support for Trump will score him lots of points both with Republicans and non-Republicans. Who in their right mind can think such a thing?

Quaglione thinks that he's some kind of political insider with all kinds of community service cred. Well, he's a political insider only if you count being like a turtle tucked up tight in his shell hiding under a rock in Marty Golden's district office or making frequent calls on the taxpayer's dime to taunt Justin Brannan. As for the community service cred, when was a local March of Dimes 'President' ever elected to anything?

Last is McCabe, the real johnny come lately as a candidate in this race. Liam McCabe's own claim is that he has 'Community Involvement: ... has been involved in politics and the community for 20 years.' How does that jibe with his latest cause of the moment, McCabe's personal charity for 'homeless vets'; supposedly, his big personal motivator for that being his dad, who died of exposure, homeless and long on the fringes of Bay Ridge. If McCabe can't do the math, CERTAINLY YOU CAN. '...politics...the community...20 years' - 'permanently homeless...2000...hypothermia...November 24, 2005...". As I just said YOU CAN DO THE MATH, even if Liam can't. If it doesn't jibe then it's all jive.

There's lots of baggage there for all three of these Republicans; and didn't one of them say, 'We can do better...'

    ReplyDelete
  35. Give it up already Lucretia nobody wants to see you run for anything ever again. These three look like superstars compared to you,

    ReplyDelete
  36. I am still laughing about Liam's story about a "promise" to his dad on the railroad tracks. Is this a council race or a schmaltzy movie on Lifetime?

    ReplyDelete
  37. Quaglione is a block of wood who has literally only had one job working for Marty Golden his entire life...

    ReplyDelete
  38. Anyone know why Marty Golden and Jerry Kassar are so quiet in this primary??

  41. The Conservatives made a deal with Peter Abbate a long time ago to make sure the GOP takes a dive. They figured they could convince Capano to forgo a run but when their passive/aggressive tactics backfired, they needed Quaglione to jump in. Idea was to sabotage McCabe all along, only he's not following the script. If any unexpected dirt comes out about McCabe, its fed directly to Quaglione by Conservatives.

    ReplyDelete
  42. Nobody needs to sabotage McCabe. Ever.

    ReplyDelete
  43. more gems from Bob "third place" Capano

    ReplyDelete
  44. Abbate announced he is running

    ReplyDelete
  45. Saying we need to sabotage Liam's campaign is like saying we need to cut the brake line on a kamikaze flight

    ReplyDelete
  46. Liam is the only one who can beat Abbate.

    ReplyDelete
  47. Looks like Seddio has to throw a bigger bone to Kevin Carroll to get him to take another fall.

    ReplyDelete
  48. Now that Abbate is in Conservatives laughing all the way to the bank.
