YOWSUH !!! YOWSUH !!!
--- Just a couple of days after doing some muckraking on Liam
McCabe --- Another mysterious message from a purported BR Dem trickster has gone at a different GOP target
Somebody calling themselves “Bay Dems <bayridgedemsrock@gmail.com>” has sent another threatening E-mail --- This time it concerns GOP City Council Candidate Bob Capano
The most recent electronic message from “Bay Dems <bayridgedemsrock@gmail.com>” came in Sunday evening at about a quarter to eight. Here’s what it had to say about Bob Capano:
“Brooklyn voters
will be reminded of Bob Capano's connection to Vito Fossella as his Brooklyn
Director. Fossella was disgraced out of office with a DUI and the discovery of
a second family…. Capano also moved
to Bay Ridge from Staten Island just to run for City Council! … Mailings
galore”
MYSTERY BRINGS OUT AT LEAST ONE >>> OTHER <<< GOP SLEUTH
One GOP sleuth
has opined to me that he doubts that this is from any Democrat at all.
He went even
further, telling me that: so far, there is a pattern ---
these Emails involve “old news” about GOPers running for City Council in
Bay Ridge whose names aren’t “John
Quaglione.” His prime suspects’ initials are “JQ”; “GK”;
and “RR.”
I PROMISE TO DO SOME INVESTIGATING ABOUT THIS MYSELF --- AND I WILL REPORT BACK IF I FIND SOMETHING --- AND --- ALL I CAN SAY IS: IT BETTER NOT BE "RUSSIAN HACKERS"
I don’t know
that I can agree with my GOP sleuthing friend at this stage of things. Here’s why: Two instances is hardly a
pattern….. And, more important than
that, these E-mails, purporting to be from some BR Dem, might be really from a
BR Dem…..
But, fear
not, Sports Fans, your most humble Independent GOP blogger is on the case. I’ve put out some feelers; and, as soon as I find something juicy, or
even slightly informative, you’ll be among the first to hear about it.
BTW, high on
my list of suspects is >>> “RUSSIAN HACKERS” <<< trying to discredit
our candidates and make us lose faith in the validity of the upcoming City
Council election for Bay Ridge, Dyker Heights and some other nearby
communities.
If it does turn out to be the Russkies, I don't know what I'll have to do next.
This is coming from either Bob Capano's Campaign or John Quaglione. The email released by whoever over the weekend actually helped Liam McCabe because it rallied people to his side, maybe Bob hopes the same thing will happen. A likelier possibility is that the Quaglione crew is behind both smears because that is exactly how they operate.
ReplyDeleteMcCabe will be Councilman for life
ReplyDeleteRESPONSE: THE "REPORT FROM THE INTELLIGENCE AGENCIES" EDITION
ReplyDelete.....WITH AN ADDITIONAL NUGGET FROM ME
TO: "ANONYMOUS SAID... AT 8:57 AM"
I think you went for the easy low-hanging fruit in rounding up your batch of "usual suspects." Don't forget that our intelligence services actually circulated and/or leaked a "report" that Russia actively has tried to "influence" our elections using various techniques, including "hacking." I think it's not unfair to expect that they will probably do it again, and/or they are even LIKELY to do so.
Also, for several reasons, Russians do have an interest in Brooklyn politics, including Brooklyn GOP politics; >>> AND (THIS IS A NEW DISCLOSURE BY THIS BLOG) THERE HAS BEEN LOTS OF INTEREST IN [INTERNET HITS TO] THIS BLOG FROM RUSSIA AND OTHER COUNTRIES IN EASTERN EUROPE.....
I don't think Bob would operate this way. It was probably John. Georgia and Ray told him it was either this or he'd have to go out and shake hands so a no brainer for him to approve the attacks.
ReplyDeleteTHE CAMPAIGN NEWS: THE "STILL MORE ON THE BAG TAX" EDITION
ReplyDelete"MORE ON THE BAG TAX" MEANS EVEN MORE "EARNED MEDIA" COVERAGE FOR BOB CAPANO
I know some people are very derisive about the Capano Campaign's being "a constant abuser of the public and the press by sending out countless and pointless press releases."
Well, if getting repeated coverage in local papers and cable TV, with the occasional network appearance thrown in, is the point of Capano's efforts --- then he and his campaign are succeeding.
Sunday, Capano and a small cadre of his peeps showed up at the Bay Ridge Food Town, where he spoke out and distributed flyers opposing the soon-to-be-implemented shopping bag tax. As sure as G*d made little green apples, the Capano anti- "Bag Tax" demonstration got relatively favorable coverage in the local press --- with a picture of of Capano speaking (See "Opponents Fight City 5-cent Plastic Bag Fee" by Paula Katinas, 1/24/17, The Brooklyn Eagle
[http://www.brooklyneagle.com/articles/2017/1/24/opponents-fight-city-5-cent-plastic-bag-fee]).
And surely the five people who read the Bay Ridge Eagle must have been duly impressed. If they all donate to Bob, he'll only need another 40 people to qualify for matching funds.
ReplyDeleteEverybody on the Republican side has got to wake up and smell the coffee. Justin Brannan looks like he is building a juggernaut, and maybe it's built already. Mr. Brannan gathered up over $50,000, mostly in loose change in a very short period of time. NOW---THAT---IS---IMPRESSIVE! What's more he has a bunch of Red Horse Strategies pros doing work for him and his campaign.
ReplyDeleteA guy in the know just told me, "Brannan's Campaign is as BIG and OFF TO A GOOD START as Capano's is SMALL and GOING NOWHERE FAST."
Assuming the quote from the email attacking Capano is not a typo, you'll notice that it DOES NOT attack him for phonying up a residence in Brooklyn to run for office while he really lives on Staten Island. A misdirect from the Capano "campaign" so people think it's Q or the Dems?
ReplyDeleteThis is so obviously another amateurish stunt by Capano's team. Almost as amateurish as claiming Dan Donovan's campaign team is behind him because they use the same guy that designs their posters.
ReplyDeleteBob barely raise ten grand last filing, no professionals from nobody working for him.
ReplyDeleteRESPONSE: THE "RODNEY DANGERFIELD" EDITION
ReplyDeleteTO: MOST, IF NOT ALL, OF THE COMMENTERS SINCE MY LAST COMMENT
So far, the Bob Capano campaign has been far from perfect by many metrics; and Capano does have plausible explanations for almost all of his early campaign's shortcomings. Of course, if one has been watching and listening to Mr. C as long as I have, one would have seen and heard changes to a few of the internal benchmarks for success or achievement by Capano at the various stages of his campaign for City Council. I'm sure that those missed-and-then-revised benchmarks inured to the consternation and confusion of even some of Capano's strongest supporters, but I am equally sure that Bob Capano has succeeded in calming enough of them by his confident and balm-like reassurances of a smooth sailing campaign and heady days of success fast approaching.
Make no mistake, Capano has achieved some success in getting his name back in front of the voting public in his old stomping grounds. He has also raised enough of what he calls "seed money" for him to begin fund raising in earnest "very soon".....
Oddly, a few of the comment makers above might cause one to think that Capano is no more than a latter day Rodney Dangerfield worthy of no respect whatsoever..... Eventually, that might prove true, but it is very premature to be saying that right now. At least, that's the way that I think about it so far.
UPDATE: THE "MORE ON THE CAMPAIGN NEWS" EDITION
ReplyDeleteMORE ON THE BAG TAX --- THIS TIME ON TV
ON DIOCESAN CABLE SHOW: COUNCIL CANDIDATE BOB CAPANO IS FEATURED ALONG WITH NYS CONSERVATIVE PARTY CHAIRMAN MIKE LONG --- BOTH ARE SEEN OPPOSING THE IMPENDING BAG TAX
According to the text in the website posting and video for the metropolitan Roman Catholic NETNY.TV cable show --- "Your weekly shopping trip could cost more this February because of a law passed by the New York City Council. The law would require consumers to pay a 5 cents a pop for each plastic bag used. Katie Engesser reports from the streets of Brooklyn with the full story." (See "Nickeled and Dimed!: New Tax Could Have New Yorkers Paying for Bags" video report by Katie Engesser, 1/24/17, NETNY.TV
[http://netny.tv/episodes/currents/nickeled-dimed-new-tax-new-yorkers-paying-bags/#.WIhtJIWcHIW]).
Ms. Engesser's coverage included soundbites of an interview given by Council Candidate Bob Capano, clips from Capano's Sunday presentation in front of the Bay Ridge Food Town at 91st Street & 3rd Avenue, and several Bay Ridgeite customer interviews opposing the bag tax at the Food Town location.
Along with all the Bob Capano materials opposing the BAG TAX were several snippets of Conservative Party Chairman Mike Long voicing his whole hearted support of efforts like Capano's.....
GM
ReplyDeleteLets see how long for the Capano detractors to say noone watches Catholic TV (im sure there are some republican primary voters that do).
Ahahahah
Bob Capano should stay far away from Mike Long there is no one less trustworthy in politics and he'll do whatever it takes to help Liam McCabe.
ReplyDeleteDon't be silly. Mike Long is only going to help Liam enough to get him into the race, then it will peter-out pretty fast.
ReplyDeleteBy in the race, I mean onto the ballot.
ReplyDeleteThe Conservatives have already made a deal with Peter Abbate and they want to end the existence of the Republican party in Brooklyn. If Bob thinks Mike Long will in under any circumstances legitimately help him he is in for a rude awakening.
ReplyDeleteMcCabe just keeps setting up one front group after another like Draft Liam McCabe (in which Liam "promises" to make an announcement in February - AHAHAHAHAHA), Teen Republicans, the Willie McCabe charity, the homeless animals groups, something about the Belt Parkway and on and on and on.
ReplyDeleteUPDATE: THE "STILL MORE 'EARNED MEDIA' " EDITION
ReplyDeleteCAPANO GETS EVEN MORE COVERAGE FOR HIS SUNDAY SUPERMARKET EVENT IN BAY RIDGE
CAPANO STANDS OUT --- ONLY REPUBLICAN & ONLY BAY RIDGEITE QUOTED IN THE ARTICLE
According to the Brooklyn Reporter, "Southwest Brooklyn continues to be up in arms over the five cent fee for plastic and paper carryout bags at supermarkets that is slated to be implemented starting Wednesday, February 15...." (SEE "Southwest Brooklyn continue to fight impending bag fee" by Jaime Dejesus, 1/25/17, Brooklyn Reporter [http://brooklynreporter.com/story/southwest-brooklyn-continue-fight-impending-bag-fee/]).
The article covered Bob Capano as follows: "To put the pressure on, a press conference was held by the Brooklyn Young Republicans and City Council candidate Bob Capano, on Sunday, January 22 outside Foodtown, 9105-27 Third Avenue, imploring Bay Ridge residents to contact state legislators to put a stop to the fee, and calling out Councilmember Brad Lander — who represents Park Slope and Carroll Gardens — who sponsored the bag fee bill.... '(Lander’s) elitist brain trust who came up with this idea must order Fresh Direct or eat out all the time, and have no idea what it is like to schlep bags of groceries,' Capano said. 'They want to tax everything that moves, and some things that don’t. New Yorkers are already the highest taxed people in the nation and this is adding insult to injury.... Unless Albany acts, New Yorkers will be waiting on longer lines at retail stores and paying more at the registers,' Capano contended...."
paper bags !! talk about a mickey mouse issue. if capano moves to brooklyn his goal should be the community board
ReplyDeleteRESPONSE: THE "I CAN SEE YOU -- I CAN HEAR YOU" EDITION
ReplyDeleteTO: "ANONYMOUS SAID... AT 10:24 PM
I ALSO KNOW WHAT YOU'RE THINKING: ... NO MORE HEAVY LIFTING
Maybe, you should stop thinking about that little state-wide gig; instead maybe it's YOU, who's goal should be the community board.
Also I don't want you to take Vinny Gentile's calls anymore, do you hear me.....
Otherwise, it's back to the "heavy lifting" for you.....
