IT'S ARNALDO ! ! !

IL VINCITORE ! ! !

At the 2015 Convention of the Brooklyn GOP County Committee,  Arnaldo A. Ferraro was selected to be the GOP County Chairman for the remainder of 2015, all of 2016 [including the NYS GOP Primary & National Convention] and through September 2017 -- THE OFFICIAL VOTE OF COUNTY COMMITTEE DELEGATES AND PROXIES WAS  >>>  327 TO 46

EATON'S FINAL PLAN TO PLACE EXECUTIVE VICE CHAIRMAN IN AS HIS SUCCESSOR WENT LIKE CLOCKWORK

Prior GOP Chairman Craig Eaton's "ABC" plan was fully implemented earlier today at the gathering of the GOP Kings County Committee  --   It can now be revealed that, of course, "ABC" means  >>>   "ARNALDO BECOMES CHAIRMAN"  <<<     I had been present at a meeting with Chairman Eaton in February in the Bridgeview Diner, where Eaton predicted that Mr. Ferraro would be elected the next GOP County Chairman if nobody put forward a more suitable candidate.

A few weeks ago, when the name, "Ted Ghorra" first reached the out-going Chairman, Eaton said to certain insiders, "Well, it looks like Marty wants us to go with Arnaldo...."

TODAY'S NOMINATIONS AND VOTING

After a dust-up over several of the proxies held by State Senator Martin Golden, which took hours to resolve;  nominations proceeded; and sometime after 3:00 PM voting was commenced. The votes finished being counted shortly before  4:00 PM.

And, once again, State Senator Martin Golden was rebuffed in his attempt to take over and run the Brooklyn GOP.  Mr. Golden put Ted Ghorra's name into nomination, and he spoke passionately, though not precisely, about Ghorra's contributions to the Brooklyn GOP and the Bay Ridge-Dyker Heights community.  Several other elected members of the GOP County Committee spoke against the Ghorra nomination , saying that they knew nothing about him and asking why he wasn't even an elected  member of the KCRP, as a County Committee person.

The Golden faction also nominated Dr. Arnaldo Ferraro to continue be Executive Vice Chairman of the Brooklyn GOP.

Eaton and his allies completely outmaneuvered the Golden folks by nominating Dr. Ferraro to be the party's next County Chairman.  With that nomination, Dr. Arnaldo A. Ferraro suddenly emerged with a vast majority of eligible delegates and proxies ready, willing and able to vote for him and support his ascent into the chairman's spot in the KCRP hierarchy. The formal voting reflected Dr. Ferraro's overwhelming support and the culmination of Eaton's "ABC" plan.

After the vote was tallied and confirmed, it was recorded.  After a few formalities, Arnaldo Ferraro assumed the chairmanship; and after some other niceties, the convention was formally brought to a close.

For "Arnaldo" this was a long-awaited vindication  ---  especially since it involved an acknowledgement of his years of good service to the Brooklyn GOP by an almost a 7-1 majority.

AN INTERESTING SIDELIGHT

Several members of State Senator Martin Golden's staff were refused admission into Remsen Hall for the 2015 Brooklyn GOP Convention pursuant to a ruling by the Credentials Committee. None of those Golden staff people were members of the Brooklyn GOP County Committee. They were seen at various times in the morning and into the afternoon hanging around a car parked around the corner from the entrance to the Remsen Hall.

Along with the staff members were two attorneys, who appeared to be advising the Marty Golden faction, John Ciampoli, long associated with the NYS Senate Republicans; and Ted Ghorra, who was also SSMG's chosen candidate for chairman. They too were refused admission because they were not members of the Brooklyn GOP County Committee. For a while they remained with Golden's staffers at the car around the corner.

After the formal close of the 2015 Brooklyn Republican County Convention, a rump group of Golden supporters attempted to continue proceedings, even though a majority of delegates were vacating the premises.  Attempts by Golden and his crew to keep things going fell apart when the management of the hall refused to allow Golden's folks to rent it to conduct their own rump convention.

There will be more details when we get them....   OR  >>>   feel free to do your own reporting, using the comments below.

  1. Is it April Fool's day, or did this really happen?

  2. This was Craig Eaton's massive FU to the Golden Crew and the rest of his antagonists within the Party. Golden had been trying to make the deal with Lucretia and Arnaldo all summer and thought he had them on board a few weeks ago. After the flagrant attempt at installing another puppet in Ted Ghorra Eaton had enough and said goodbye to these clowns.

  3. So now that Arnaldo isChair, who will the Brooklyn GOP support for the nomination?

    Dewey or Taft?

    ReplyDelete
  4. Brooklyn GOP politics should get even more interesting considering the fact that both the Golden and Eaton factions can't stand Arnaldo and Lucretia.

  7. RESPONSE: THE "MODERATOR GIVES THANKS AND APOLOGIZES" EDITION

TO "ANONYMOUS SAID... AT 4:43 PM" --- MOLTE GRAZIE !!!

We were trying to keep up with text messages from our BSIs on the convention floor and get the post above up as quickly as possible. As things were, there were three significant additions in less than a half hour between about 4:45 PM and 5:15 EDT [in real Brooklyn time not the Blogspot ersatz time printed after the posts and comments].

Thanks again for your "Il Vincitore !!!!"

  8. QUERY: THE "ARE WE BEING LITERARY OR NOSTALGIC ?" EDITION

IS COMMENT MAKER "ANONYMOUS SAID... 5:07 PM" REFERRING TO THE YEAR, 1984, AS A NOSTALGIC TIME OR TO ERIC (G.O.) BLAIR'S ICONIC DYSTOPIAN NOVEL ?

Note: we will give extra credit if the answer is "BOTH" and "Anonymous said... 5:07 PM" can effectively explain why.....

  10. If Eaton was this smart from the very beginning of his time as GOP County Chairman, he would be hailed by everybody and he'd have been a much happier person.

  11. Brooklyn GOP Chairman Arnaldo Ferraro immediately after winning election:

“Not to beat my own drum, but I’m one of the most qualified people ever to chair the Brooklyn Republican Party..."

    This is gonna be great!

  12. Marty Golden's most vocal ally at the convention is Diane Rudiano, best known for this:

  17. Other than the problem that goes every place he goes, Marty Golden's other real problem was not inside the GOP Convention site. Other than the problem that goes every place he might be at the moment, his second biggest problem yesterday was in the clown car parked around the corner during the whole convention. This problem was his staff and the legal advisers that all gave into Marty's delusions. In other words, Marty's second most serious problem, his staff and other advisers, always go along with Marty's main problem, his own delusional view of himself, his popularity, and his ability to control most things happening around him.

  18. Dr Ferraro?

Is Arnaldo now a brain surgeon

    ReplyDelete
  19. Ferraro was quoted in Brooklyn Politics saying he wants to elect Regina Potter the first Woman Republican Assembymember from Brooklyn ever.

Wonder how Florence Sullivan would feel about that.

  21. To the person who wrote: Question: After the Feds convict Arnaldo for selling a Wilson/Pakula will he be deported?

Are you a moron? Why didn't you post that comment under your real name instead of anonymous. Dr. Ferraro has done things, as an immigrant, that you can never even aspire to do as a born and bred American ( which judging by your lack of respect and idiocy I can tell you most definitely are)

    Forza Ferraro!

OTHER OFFICES FILLED AT 2015 BROOKLYN GOP CONVENTION

The following were elected to KCRP offices after being nominated at yesterday's convention followed by a vote of the County Committee, present or by proxy:

Daniel Esquilin --- Kings County Republican Vice Chairman

Lucretia Regina-Potter --- Kings County Republican Party Secretary

Stephen Maresca --- Kings County Republican Party Treasurer

    ReplyDelete
  24. Arnaldo and Marty will work everything out. They both used to be democrats

    ReplyDelete
  25. Arnaldo may have endorsed a Democrat or two, but Marty voted to eliminate not one -- but TWO Republican districts. He voted to redistrict Bob Turner's congressional seat out of existence, and he voted to abolish David Storobin's Senate district.

    ReplyDelete
  26. All of the Republicans in the Legislature voted for those compromises. You are comparing apples to oranges. Arnalod endorsed and actively campaigned for Democrats long after he was elected as a Republican.

    ReplyDelete
  27. The elected officials who represent parts of Brooklyn as Republicans have all campaigned against or have actively not helped Republican challengers. That does far more damage then anything that is claimed regarding the chairman.

    ReplyDelete
  28. Having the power to eliminate a Republican legislator's district -- and doing so twice -- is far worse than campaigning for a Democrat.

    ReplyDelete
  29. More innuendo. Golden never had the power to eliminate districts. Since getting elected he has not backed Democrats. Unlike Arnaldo who has heartily endorsed them. That is a fact not in dispute the rest is just a bunch of excuses.

    ReplyDelete
  30. David Greenfield, didn't he endorse him? Golden should never have voted to eliminate districts that were held by Republicans, especially ones in Brooklyn.

    ReplyDelete
  31. Marty followed the GOP Senate tradition started by Chris Mega of fucking over his party and Bay Ridge through reapportionment. Mega voted to eliminate Bay Ridge 50th AD in 1982 and the voters turned around and eliminated Mega. I never got over that, as you can tell.

    ReplyDelete
  32. Chris Mega was one of the greatest men to ever serve our communities. You are attempting to divert the conversation by talking about things which no one direct person controls such as drawing election lines. Arnaldo Ferraro has endorsed Democrats repeatedly especially when he had an axe to grind with the Republican. Now he is our Chairman with Lucretia at his side. Enjoy.

    ReplyDelete
  33. Can you come up with factual information as to where he endorsed Democrats? Correct me if I am wrong but Mega and Golden both voted for the elimination of several Republican held districts in Brooklyn.

    ReplyDelete
  34. Mega and Golden never formed election districts, that is a fact. If Arnaldo Ferraro had his way, liberal Joanne Seminara would have been in the City Council. FACTS.

    ReplyDelete
  35. Mega and Golden voted to eliminate Republican held districts in Brooklyn, and Golden endorsed liberal David Greenfield for city council. FACTS.

    ReplyDelete
  36. You can't begin to compare Marty Golden to Chris Mega let alone someone like Arnaldo. The Greenfield election was non competitive he got almost 80%. In the heart of the Republican Party in Brooklyn our new Chairman supported and actively campaigned for Joanne Seminara. FACTS not in dispute, unlike your desperate ploy to link the actions of the entire state legislature to Golden and Mega as if they had much of a say in the matter. Working to throw out a Republican incumbent in favor of a liberal Democrat like Seminara is utterly embarrassing--you can attempt to link Golden and Mega with whatever ridiculous scenario you want it doesn't change the fact that our new Chairman has a history of trying to throw out Republicans.

    ReplyDelete
  37. No one is disputing facts about Golden endorsing liberal Democrat David Greenfield, let alone disputing facts about Golden also endorsing liberal Democrat Charles Hynes.

Now voting to eliminate conservative Republican held districts in Brooklyn is far worse then any other point discussed here, and I would add further that Golden voted to allow every single district in Brooklyn be drawn more Democrat, except his own.

    ReplyDelete
  38. Maybe an analogy would help. Marty Golden is like Alec Guinness, Craig Eaton is like William Holden and Arnaldo Ferraro is sort of like Jack Hawkins. And of course the Brooklyn GOP is like "The Bridge Over the River Kwai."

    ReplyDelete
  39. You should also allow for the fact that even you don' t believe that Golden and Mega could be fairly blamed for being reaponsible for the elimination of friendly districts. Try to deflect and misdirect as much as you want, the fact is Arnaldo helps Democrats and now he is our Chair.

    ReplyDelete
  40. By Golden and Mega voting for the elimination of several GOP held districts in Brooklyn, they are not only responsible for aiding Democrats, but they are also responsible for electing Democrats more than any individual you claim has done, and that's facts.

    ReplyDelete
  41. Keep dreaming. So is Chairman Arnaldo going to endorse Joanne Seminara next year too or maybe Davidzon again?

    ReplyDelete
  42. I thought non Republican Davidzon was supporting Golden's efforts to take over the party, ouch.

    ReplyDelete
  43. Better a non Republican suporting an elected Republican than a Republican like Arnaldo enthusiastically supporting a Democrat against a sitting Republican.

    ReplyDelete
  44. State Senator Marty Golden and his conference are allies of Democrat Governor Cuomo. Tea Party Republicans need to hear that over and over. Kicking Golden to the curb is a good thing for real Republicans, even though some Democrat gets in.

    ReplyDelete
  45. Golden is really a Ben Franklin Republican, if you know what I mean.

    ReplyDelete
  46. Hmmm.... Clever....

    ReplyDelete
  47. Hmmm...kicking Golden to the curb for a Democrat would probably throw control of the State Senate to the Democrats and we all know how well that turned out for is last time it happened.

    ReplyDelete
  48. Solution: replace Golden with another Republican in a Primary Election.

    ReplyDelete
  49. II Duce Ferraro will crush all opposition and make the trains run on time

    ReplyDelete
  50. Arnaldo seems like the right fit to run against Golden next year.

    ReplyDelete
  51. Comments from Glenn Nocera and others suggest Marty Golden is considering talking to the feds about voting rights violations. Wait til Preet Bharara hears that Marty is involved!

    ReplyDelete
  52. That is very interesting and will backfire on them significantly....it is even more interesting based upon the fact that I heard several District Leaders at the Convention identifying acts of deception and fraud by the Golden Camp upon republicans throughout Brooklyn and there were a lot of threats and intimidation upon Brooklyn BOE Employees in connection with this race. I even saw proof that the computer at the Brooklyn BOE was used by someone to log onto the computer and print out proxies made to Diane Riduano.

These facts will make Golden's plan backfire.........................

THE BAY RIDGE JOURNAL, WHICH IS USUALLY ONE OF MY SOURCES FOR POSTS INVOLVING BAY RIDGE POLITICS, GAVE GALEWYN MASSEY'S "BROOKLYN... FOUNTAINHEAD" A SHOUT-OUT YESTERDAY

Kip's coverage of the 2015 Brooklyn GOP Convention cited me and my coverage of the event several times. Very glad to be useful and even gladder for the recognition..... (See "Eaton Trounces Golden at GOP County Committee" by Kip of BR, 10/1/15 [http://bayridgejournal.blogspot.com/2015/10/eaton-trounces-golden-at-gop-county.html]).

For those who want a little less snarky telling of the story than mine, a look at Kip's take is very worthwhile. Also Kip did some additional reporting, and mentioned several items about Wednesday's goings on that I didn't cover.
