"The violence has to stop.... But more broadly, let’s remember that everyone in every community benefits when there is respect for the law and when everyone in every community is respected by the law....” --- HILLARY SOUNDS OK THERE, BUT LOOK OUT FOR WHAT SHE REALLY MEANS
A Radical Ultra-Liberal monster emerges: --- HILLARY CLINTON THEN SAYS: America's criminal justice system is the cause of the riots; and as a result, HILLARY PROPOSES a large-scale release of prisoners and lesser sentences for criminals
IT LOOKS LIKE THE REAL UBER-LIBERAL, OR EVEN RADICAL, HILLARY CLINTON FINALLY SHOWS-UP AFTER OVER TWENTY YEARS OF HIDING
>>> BUT <<< The Times writers also pointed out that much of the nation's anti-crime policy was implemented during the administration of Bill Clinton, and while Hillary supposedly was Bill's closest adviser
Earlier today, in a speech at Columbia University for the first time Hillary Clinton delivered a substantive policy address in a campaign that, up until now, had drawn more attention for the Democratic candidate’s head-nodding and note-taking at round-table campaign events in Iowa and New Hampshire than substantive policy.
Hillary signaled that today's speech would be a big deal yesterday in another speech to some of her money people.
YESTERDAY, HILLARY WAS TAME ENOUGH --- BUT SHE ALL BUT WARNED US --- HOLD ONTO YOUR SEATS TOMORROW
According to a CNN report, "Hillary Clinton told an audience of about 150 campaign donors on Tuesday the Baltimore riot was 'heartbreaking'.... Clinton, the Democratic Party's frontrunner for the 2016 presidential nomination, added that once order is restored 'we have to take a hard look as to what we need to do to reform our system.'... The comments came at Clinton's third and final New York City fundraiser of the day... 'It is heartbreaking. The tragic death of another young African-American man. The injuries to police officers. The burning of peoples' homes and small businesses.... We have to restore order and security. But then we have to take a hard look as to what we need to do to reform our system...." (See "Hillary Clinton calls Baltimore riot 'heartbreaking' by Dan Merica, 4/28/15, CNN [http://www.cnn.com/2015/04/28/politics/hillary-clinton-baltimore-riot-2016/]). Then the CCN coverage of her Tuesday speeches added that Clinton said she will be "speaking about this more tomorrow"BOY DID SHE EVER --- CHANNELING HER INNER AL SHARPTON, HILLARY DECRIED THE "OUT-OF-BALANCE CRIMINAL JUSTICE SYSTEM ON DISPLAY ON THE SMOKE-FILLED STREETS OF BALTIMORE"
According to the New York Times, "In an unusually impassioned speech, Hillary Rodham Clinton delivered a pointed assessment of race in America on Wednesday, lamenting the recent deaths of young black men and calling for overhauling the “out-of-balance” criminal justice system on display on the smoke-filled streets of Baltimore...." ( See "Clinton Address Baltimore Riots in Impassioned Speech" by Amy Chozick & Michael Barabro, 4/29/15, NY Times/ Politics [http://www.nytimes.com/2015/04/30/us/politics/baltimore-forces-presidential-hopefuls-to-confront-a-jarring-crisis.html?_r=0])Sounding more like a race-baiter with each sentence, Hillary went on, "... “From Ferguson to Staten Island to Baltimore, the patterns have become unmistakable and undeniable....”
Then Hillary Clinton took her Sharpton-like pitch to angry blacks and married it to a message aimed at her bed-rock base of non-discriminating women, with this chestnut: "Not only as a mother and grandmother, but as a citizen, a human being, my heart breaks for these young men and their families....” Then the Democratic Candidate said, “We have to come to terms with some hard truths about race and justice in America....”
AFTER A RE-CYCLED AND FAILED 60's LIBERAL ANALYSIS OF THE "CYCLE OF PRISON AND POVERTY IN BLACK NEIGHBOHOODS..." --- HILLARY CALLED FOR LESSENING OF THE BLACKS' PRISON POPULATION --- THROUGH "AN END TO THE ERA OF MASS INCARCERATION" AND "A REVIEW OF SENTENCING MEASURES"
Ticking off a litany of problems with the criminal justice system and the cycle of prison and poverty in black neighborhoods that 'tears at your soul,' Mrs. Clinton said there is something 'profoundly wrong' when 'yet again brave police officers have been attacked in the line of duty' and when 1.5 million black men are 'missing' from their communities because of incarceration and premature death. *** She called for an end to 'an era of mass incarceration' and for a review of sentencing measures. *** 'We have allowed our criminal justice system to get out of balance,' she said...."NOT SO FAST HILLARY
The Times team of Chozick and Barbaro put Hillary into a brief time-out to think things over with this: "Mrs. Clinton faces a similar burden [to the Republican candiates for President] — in her case, by association. Her husband, former President Bill Clinton, signed the 1994 Violent Crime Control and Law Enforcement Act, the most significant crime legislation ever passed and a measure that critics say contributed to a climate of police abuse [Uh-oh, what to do, what to do ?]. *** The 1994 law included $30.2 billion to bolster cities’ law enforcement rosters and build dozens of new prisons. It also created tougher penalties for drug offenders and expanded the number of crimes that could be punished by the federal death penalty [Oh dear, why didn't she speak up way back then ?]...."Here's the Times reported on how Hillary chose to describe her personal life experiences: "In her speech Wednesday, Mrs. Clinton spoke of race and policing in the context of her own experience working for the Children’s Defense Fund. *** 'I saw repeatedly how our legal system can be and all too often is stacked against those who have the least power, who are the most vulnerable,' she said, adding that the crises in Baltimore and other American cities are a 'symptom' of inequality, unemployment and poverty that afflicts so many black communities...." [Where were those sentiments when a Democratic Congress passed and Bill Clinton signed the Crime Bill in 1994 ? It sure looks like more of Hillary's hiding an hypocricy, doesn't it ?]
IN THE END HILLARY SAYS --- ACROSS THE BOARD, IN AMERICA NEEDS TO HAVE LOTS FEWER GUNS AND LOTS MORE SOCIAL WORK
Mrs. Clinton called President Obama’s task force on policing a “good place to start,” but she said she hoped the changes could go further.Oh, this new/old Hillary is a pip. At the end of the TImes story, everybody can see that she wants to round-up guns and have much more in the way of social work spending.
STAY TUNED
Even though this passage appeared rather early in the Chozick and Barbaro article in the Times, it certainly bears repetition: "... [I]t will hardly be the last time Mrs. Clinton discusses race and reform to the criminal justice system, which has indelibly emerged as a central issue for presidential candidates from both sides...."NO DOUBT ABOUT IT ! ! !
