Hillary Clinton and the Baltimore Riots: Hillary repeatedly says the riots are "Heartbreaking..." --- BUT LOOK AT WHAT COMES NEXT FROM MRS. HILLARY RODHAM CLINTON --- THE CANDIDATE FOR PRESIDENT

"The violence has to stop....   But more broadly, let’s remember that everyone in every community benefits when there is respect for the law and when everyone in every community is respected by the law....”   ---   HILLARY  SOUNDS OK THERE, BUT LOOK OUT FOR WHAT SHE REALLY MEANS

A Radical Ultra-Liberal monster emerges:  ---   HILLARY CLINTON THEN SAYS:   America's criminal justice system is the cause of the riots; and as a result,  HILLARY PROPOSES  a large-scale release of prisoners  and lesser sentences for criminals

IT LOOKS LIKE THE REAL UBER-LIBERAL, OR EVEN RADICAL, HILLARY CLINTON FINALLY SHOWS-UP AFTER OVER TWENTY YEARS OF HIDING

>>>  BUT <<<  The Times writers also pointed out that much of the nation's anti-crime policy was implemented during the administration of Bill Clinton, and while Hillary supposedly was Bill's closest adviser

Earlier today, in a speech at Columbia University for the first time Hillary Clinton delivered a substantive policy address in a campaign that, up until now, had  drawn more attention for the Democratic candidate’s head-nodding and note-taking at round-table campaign events in Iowa and New Hampshire than substantive policy.

Hillary signaled that today's speech would be a big deal yesterday in another speech to some of her money people.

YESTERDAY, HILLARY WAS TAME ENOUGH  ---  BUT SHE ALL BUT WARNED US  ---   HOLD ONTO YOUR SEATS TOMORROW

According to  a CNN report,  "Hillary Clinton told an audience of about 150 campaign donors on Tuesday the Baltimore riot was 'heartbreaking'....   Clinton, the Democratic Party's frontrunner for the 2016 presidential nomination, added that once order is restored 'we have to take a hard look as to what we need to do to reform our system.'...   The comments came at Clinton's third and final New York City fundraiser of the day...  'It is heartbreaking. The tragic death of another young African-American man. The injuries to police officers. The burning of peoples' homes and small businesses....  We have to restore order and security. But then we have to take a hard look as to what we need to do to reform our system...."  (See "Hillary Clinton calls Baltimore riot 'heartbreaking' by  Dan Merica, 4/28/15,  CNN [http://www.cnn.com/2015/04/28/politics/hillary-clinton-baltimore-riot-2016/]).   Then the CCN coverage of her Tuesday speeches  added that Clinton said she will be "speaking about this more tomorrow"

BOY DID SHE EVER  ---   CHANNELING HER INNER AL SHARPTON, HILLARY DECRIED THE "OUT-OF-BALANCE CRIMINAL JUSTICE SYSTEM ON DISPLAY ON THE SMOKE-FILLED STREETS OF BALTIMORE"

According to the New York Times, "In an unusually impassioned speech, Hillary Rodham Clinton delivered a pointed assessment of race in America on Wednesday, lamenting the recent deaths of young black men and calling for overhauling the “out-of-balance” criminal justice system on display on the smoke-filled streets of Baltimore...."  ( See "Clinton Address Baltimore Riots in Impassioned Speech" by Amy Chozick  & Michael Barabro, 4/29/15, NY Times/ Politics [http://www.nytimes.com/2015/04/30/us/politics/baltimore-forces-presidential-hopefuls-to-confront-a-jarring-crisis.html?_r=0])

Sounding more like a race-baiter with each sentence, Hillary went on,  "...  “From Ferguson to Staten Island to Baltimore, the patterns have become unmistakable and undeniable....”
Then Hillary Clinton took her Sharpton-like pitch to angry blacks and married it to a message aimed at her bed-rock base of non-discriminating women, with this chestnut:  "Not only as a mother and grandmother, but as a citizen, a human being, my heart breaks for these young men and their families....”   Then the Democratic Candidate said,  “We have to come to terms with some hard truths about race and justice in America....”

AFTER A RE-CYCLED  AND FAILED 60's LIBERAL  ANALYSIS OF THE "CYCLE OF PRISON AND POVERTY IN BLACK NEIGHBOHOODS..."  ---  HILLARY CALLED FOR  LESSENING OF THE BLACKS' PRISON POPULATION  ---  THROUGH "AN END TO THE ERA OF MASS INCARCERATION" AND "A REVIEW OF SENTENCING MEASURES"

Ticking off a litany of problems with the criminal justice system and the cycle of prison and poverty in black neighborhoods that 'tears at your soul,' Mrs. Clinton said there is something 'profoundly wrong' when 'yet again brave police officers have been attacked in the line of duty' and when 1.5 million black men are 'missing' from their communities because of incarceration and premature death.  ***   She called for an end to 'an era of mass incarceration' and for a review of sentencing measures.  ***   'We have allowed our criminal justice system to get out of balance,' she said...."

NOT SO FAST HILLARY

The Times team of Chozick and Barbaro put Hillary into a brief time-out to think things over with this:  "Mrs. Clinton faces a similar burden [to the Republican candiates for President] — in her case, by association. Her husband, former President Bill Clinton, signed the 1994 Violent Crime Control and Law Enforcement Act, the most significant crime legislation ever passed and a measure that critics say contributed to a climate of police abuse [Uh-oh, what to do, what to do ?].  ***  The 1994 law included $30.2 billion to bolster cities’ law enforcement rosters and build dozens of new prisons. It also created tougher penalties for drug offenders and expanded the number of crimes that could be punished by the federal death penalty [Oh dear, why didn't she speak up way back then ?]...."

Here's the Times reported on how Hillary chose to describe her personal life experiences:  "In her speech Wednesday, Mrs. Clinton spoke of race and policing in the context of her own experience working for the Children’s Defense Fund.  ***  'I saw repeatedly how our legal system can be and all too often is stacked against those who have the least power, who are the most vulnerable,' she said, adding that the crises in Baltimore and other American cities are a 'symptom' of inequality, unemployment and poverty that afflicts so many black communities...."   [Where were those sentiments when a Democratic Congress passed and Bill Clinton signed the Crime Bill in 1994 ?   It sure looks like more of Hillary's hiding an hypocricy, doesn't it ?]

IN THE END HILLARY SAYS ---  ACROSS THE BOARD,  IN AMERICA NEEDS TO HAVE LOTS FEWER GUNS AND LOTS MORE SOCIAL WORK

Mrs. Clinton called President Obama’s task force on policing a “good place to start,” but she said she hoped the changes could go further.

Oh, this new/old Hillary is a pip.  At the end of the TImes story, everybody can see that she wants to round-up guns and have much more in the way of social work spending.

STAY TUNED

Even though this passage appeared rather early in the Chozick and Barbaro article in the Times, it certainly bears repetition:  "...  [I]t will hardly be the last time Mrs. Clinton discusses race and reform to the criminal justice system, which has indelibly emerged as a central issue for presidential candidates from both sides...."

NO DOUBT ABOUT IT  ! ! !

  1. Hillary will bite the heads off of chickens to get the Clinton Foundation stories out of the lame stream media

Proposing to upend the U.S. law enforcement system just might get the other story buried.

    Good job Hillary

  2. On election night when Hillary wins by a landslide will remember today's speech. I had the opportunity to listen to it live streaming and I tell you it was electrifying. The last time I was so inspired was Bill Clinton's speech at the 2012 democratic convention. Hillary's speech today is equal to the Mario Cuomo greats of 1982 and 1984. She made me proud to be a member of the legal profession and a fighter for justice. Oh and yes, see how fast the Foundation nonsense has disappeared? It went the way of the email - faux scandal and before that the Benghazi Donnybrook that didn't exist. Oh, and your local lot lizard pub crawling pal Colin Campbell - who is shamefully biased against Hillary - wrote a wonderful and honest piece on today's speech. So there.

  4. UPDATE & BACKFILL: THE "HILLARY IS A BIG FAT HYPOCRITE" EDITION

HILLARY HAS ANOTHER "BILL PROBLEM" --- THE 1994 CRIME "BILL" --- HILLARY CLINTON STRONGLY SUPPORTED THE CLINTON ADMINISTRATION'S 1994 CRIME BILL

Pam Key's short report is worth reading; here's a taste: "On the heels of the social unrest caused by a string of law enforcement involved deaths of African-American males across the country, today Democratic presidential candidate Hillary Clinton called for an end to mass incarceration. *** However, a little more than 20 years ago in 1994, Clinton spoke in support her husband, then-President Bill Clinton, and his sweeping crime bill that would build more federal prisons and 'lock up violent offenders so they never could get out again.'..." ( See "HILLARY 1994: LOCK UP OFFENDERS FOREVER, BUILD MORE PRISONS" by Pam Key, 4/29/15, Breitbart News [http://www.breitbart.com/video/2015/04/29/hillary-1994-lock-up-offenders-forever-build-more-prisons/][with video link to Hillary Clinton's 1994 remarks to CSPAN]).

Key then went on to describe a 1994 CSPAN interview, when first lady Hillary Clinton pushed for the stalled crime bill saying, “This bill will put more police on the streets, would have locked up violent offenders so they can never could get out again, would have given more prison construction money available to the states as well as the federal government....”

Key's article also noted that at present, there are more than 2 million Americas imprisoned; and also, that an African-American male born today has a 1-in-3 chance of spending some time in prison during their lifetime, a statistic that some attribute to the 1994 Crime Bill supported by Hillary Clinton.

  8. UPDATE: THE "HILL RUNS AGAINST BILL ! -- DRUDGE REPORT" EDITION

THE DRUDGE REPORTS' 4-30-15 EARLY AM VERSION HAS ONE OF HILLARY'S CRAZY-WOMAN PHOTOS RIGHT ABOVE A HEADLINE THAT READS EXACTLY LIKE IN MY HEADLINE ABOVE -- "HILL RUNS AGAINST BILL !"

THE DRUDGE HEADLINE LINKS TO A WAPO ARTICLE, ENTITLED "HOW HILLARY CLINTON IS RUNNING AGAINST PARTS OF HER HUSBANDS LEGACY"

GOP SAYS THAT HILLARY IS WILLING TO SAY ANYTHING AND REVERSE ANY POSITION TO GET AHEAD -- AND THAT'S WHY A MAJORITY OF AMERICANS FIND HER UNTRUSTWORTHY

At 1:00 AM EDT, The Drudge Reports main headline was as I twice posted it above, the headline links to an article in the Washington Post by Anne Gearan and Philip Rucker. In it they say that "Hillary Rodham Clinton isn’t just running against Republicans. She’s also running against parts of her husband’s legacy. *** On issues large and small, the Democratic presidential contender is increasingly distancing herself from — or even opposing — key policies pushed by Bill Clinton while he was in the White House, from her recent skepticism on free-trade pacts to her full embrace of gay rights. *** The starkest example yet came Wednesday, when Hillary Clinton delivered an impassioned address condemning the “era of incarceration” ushered in during the 1990s in the wake of her husband’s 1994 crime bill — though she never mentioned him or the legislation by name...." (See "How Hillary Clinton is running against parts of her husband’s legacy," by Anne Gearan and Philip Rucker, 4/29/15, Washington Post / Politics [http://www.washingtonpost.com/politics/how-hillary-clinton-is-running-against-parts-of-her-husbands-legacy/2015/04/29/e34778ae-ee79-11e4-8abc-d6aa3bad79dd_story.html]).

Robert Reich, a leading liberal who served as Labor Secretary during the William Clinton Administration said, “Twenty years is a long time.... I don’t think [Hillary]feels in any way bound by policies of a different administration two decades ago, even though she is married to the person who initiated those policies. I think we’ll see Hillary Clinton parting ways with the Bill Clinton administration on a number of matters.”

On the other hand, a spokesperson for the RNC, Allison Moore, indicated that Hillary Clinton was being opportunistic, saying : “As Hillary Clinton continues to flip-flop on the issues, she’s only further proving that she’ll say anything to benefit herself politically, which is why the majority of American people find her to be untrustworthy.”

The Washington Post team of Gearan and Rucker closed by noting that the 1994 crime bill pushed into law by Bill Clinton and a Democratic Congress came in the wake of the crack cocaine epidemic. It stepped up the anti-drug policies implemented during the Ronald Reagan years. Once the 1994 Crime Bill became law, it put in place a broad range of tough-on-crime policies, including a three-strikes-and-you’re-out requirement that helped fuel the surge in incarcerations during the Clinton years and since.

  9. Gale, you're gonna need a bigger swift boat when it comes to Hillary. Yours is full of holes. It's leaking. It's under water and heading straight toward the iceberg. Put on your lift vest quick.

  10. RESPONSE: THE "SWIFT BOAT HEROES" EDITION

I DON'T NEED ANY SWIFT BOAT TO SINK HILLARY'S LEAKY AND UNSTABLE PUNT

I was never in the U.S. Navy, but I am very close many who did so serve, one of whom will be memorialized in formal U.S. Navy rituals and services in the near future.

The actual "Swift Boaters" were heroes of the Vietnam war, who served on the "Swift" boats and other similar gunboats in the Delta and other "brown water" locations.

The "Swift Boat" to which you refer has to do with an exercise in setting the record straight on John Kerry as he started running for president. It was about his war service, as well as his anti-war, anti-combat fighter activities afterwards. It was done with facts, mostly by people who had served honorably aboard "Swift" boats, themselves. Their efforts probably kept John Kerry from being President of the United States for all time. So, to me, "Swiftboating" is a term of honor and respect.

I can only hope to emulate those "Swift Boat" heroes in some small way with my efforts against Hillary Clinton.

I don't think I'll need to to do very much, because any boat that Hillary gets into isn't very swift, and it is immediately overloaded by her weight and the weight of her baggage.

[In addition it looks like Hillary Clinton has become the same kind of brain-damaged gaffe-machine as Joe Biden -- more about that in future posts and comments.]

Wishing all of the real Swiftboaters" a future of "Fair Winds and Following Seas."

    ReplyDelete
  11. Gale, you should have checked with me first. Swift boating is a pejorative term in the political lexicon. It refers to unfair and unfounded and grossly misleading political attacks on a candidate for public office. Much like you do to Hillary. It is not a good thing to do at all. But I too like the navy - especially during Fleet Week here in NY. Do you have a pea coat? I love men in pea coats.

  12. RESPONSE: THE "TAKE BACK THE LANGUAGE" EDITION

NOPE ! "SWIFTBOATING" IS THE PATRIOTIC DESTRUCTION OF UNWORTHY DEMOCRATS FOR PRESIDENT LIKE JOHN KERRY AND, IF NECESSARY, HILLARY CLINTON

RIGHT NOW, THERE'S NO NEED FOR "SWIFTBOATING" HILLARY

She is being "Pinocchioed" by the main stream media, literally as we exchange these comments....

  15. BACKFILL: THE “BUT WHAT ABOUT FIGARO AND CLEO ?” EDITION

TWO DAYS AGO THE WASHINGTON POST GAVE THE CLINTON FOUNDATION THREE (3) PINOCCHIOS — IN WAPO’S NOW FAMOUS TEST FOR TRUTH AND ACCURACY

MAYBE IT’S GENERATIONAL, BUT HANDING OUT “PINOCCHIOS” FOR FALSEHOODS IGNORES SO MANY OTHER FORMS OF MISCHIEF THAT CAN BE TESTED AND CALIBRATED

FOR EXAMPLE, I THINK THAT THERE SHOULD BE A “FIGARO AND CLEO” AWARD FOR “CONFLICT OF INTEREST” AND/OR FOR “QUESTIONABLE ASSOCIATIONS” — BUT, FOR OBVIOUS REASONS, ABSOLUTELY NO “GEPPETTO” TESTS FOR HILLARY AT THIS TIME OR IN THE NEAR FUTURE

At issue in WAPO's fact check was this part of the now infamous “mistakes were made” statement by the Clinton Foundation acting-CEO Maura Pally, explaining why the foundation did not list certain donors to a Canadian affiliates of the Clinton Foundation: “... This is hardly an effort on our part to avoid transparency – unlike in the U.S., under Canadian law, all charities are prohibited from disclosing individual donors without prior permission from each donor.” After a very long and over-technical analysis of arcane Canadian Tax Laws and the like, the WAPO’s fact-checker Michelle Ye Hee Lee gave the Bill, Hillary and Chelsea Clinton Foundation
( See “Clinton Foundation’s misleading claim about Canadian laws on donor info” by Michelle Ye Hee Lee, 4/29/15, Washington Post/ Fact Checker [http://www.washingtonpost.com/blogs/fact-checker/wp/2015/04/29/clinton-foundations-misleading-claim-about-canadian-laws-on-donor-info/]).

Without a doubt, Hillary Clinton was the target of this brickbat, and that is clearly demonstrated by the lone photograph of Hillary at the beginning of the article.

If that is their actual purpose, the Washington Post should have other “Pinocchio-related” tests for things other than “fact checking” – for example Pinocchio’s “creator” Geppetto’s two pets – Figaro, the cat (actually kitten), and Cleo, the goldfish, should have a test named after the both of them for either “conflicts of interest” or “questionable associations” (remember there could be a problem in using “Cleo” as a single-named category because it sounds identical to advertising’s “Clio”).

If you watch these two “lovable” Disney characters, they move from normal cat and goldfish behavior to some things that are completely over the line. Of which Walt Disney dareth not speak, yet felt quite comfortable depicting all of it, and weaving it into his Pinocchio story line.

And of course there should be a “Geppetto” test applied to Hillary Clinton for her anti-feminist tendencies and longing manifest in her clearly wanting Chelsea to be a real live little.... (Wait a minute ! Forget that stuff. I don’t want to send the HRC Super Volunteers onto another warpath.)

  21. I think everybody is missing the point.

Hillary Clinton's speech at Columbia was a home run for her. It was an old time religion piece of American liberalism from the 60's with a little late 60s new left radicalism for the kiddies.

Seeing her words made me think that conservatives have no way of dealing with it constructively. In other words, they don't know how to get at the root causes of Hillary Clinton. Basically, how does one stop the kind of stuff that Hillary spewed forth at Columbia.

Shutting Hillary UP would only give us temporary relief, eventually there would be another, probably Chelsea Clinton from the looks of it.

The real answer is shutting Columbia DOWN. Who would care about anybody talking at some abandoned college? Even if was Hillary. Imagine the headline, "Hillary speaks at long-shuttered college on Morningside Heights"

Another benefit would be, the drug cartels would lose their base of operations.
