How many "Cabinet Meetings" have been held concerning the "Ebola Outbreak" ?
Why does President Obama keep calling "Cabinet Meetings" about Ebola if a "serious" "Ebola Outbreak" is not "likely" ?
How many Ebola patients have there been in the United States ?
How many medical personnel have been involved in the treatment of Ebola patients in the United States ?
How many days was it before a complete list of medical personnel was maintained of those medical personnel that came into contact with Thomas Eric Duncan at Texas Health Presbyterian Hospital [This could be a trick question] ?
Is President Obama trying to keep the nation calm and reassured, or is he trying to come up with a new "Obama crisis" that can't be wasted ?
If there is no further spread of Ebola in the United States, how much do you think that the United States will spend on Ebola in 2014-2015 ?

ReplyDeleteWhat's your point? We wish Reagan would have closed the border and quarantined AIDS patients too so not too sure why you invoked that example when we did not.
ReplyDeleteWell who'da thunk it? We agree on something: Ronald Reagan was an abysmal failure in handling the AIDS crisis and his leadership was shameful. Glad we found some common ground.
ReplyDeleteAids-Hiv continues to be a blight. Reagan was listening to many "experts" like Fauci who had it completely wrong that time too.
ReplyDeleteIn the United States, the spread of AIDS was overwhelmingly caused by dEmocrats and DEmocratic party constituencies, just like the current spread of Ebola is being fostered by Democrats and eemocrat constituencies.
QUarantines and bans are necessary -- of all Democrats. A system needs to be set up under and emergency regime where All people like Democrats that need to be gathered in camps. Once there thwy cn be re-educated in AMerican values, and released only after they have been made into fully functioning Americans.
REagan was a real AMerican Obama is African.
Toto, I don't think we're in Kansas anymore." Professor Marvel seems to have censored the only comments challenging his Ebola assertions. Oh Auntie Em, I must be in North Korea.
ReplyDeleteRESPONSE: THE "MAYBE DOROTHY CAN COMMENT WITHOUT HATE SPEECH IF SHE REALLY TRIED" EDITION
ReplyDeleteBefore launching any Jeremiad, heed Jeremiah ---
"Hear now this, O foolish people, and without understanding; that have eyes, and see not; that have ears, and hear not;..." ASV
Oh I get it, question the veracity of Professor Marvel's statements and it is hate speech? Does reasoned analysis frighten you? It seems each time you are challenged when you malign the President of the United States with outlandish claims those challenges get erased.
ReplyDeleteHate speech? Physician, heal thyself.
You "GM" should know better than to make a public allegation such as that above. But then again perhaps it endears you to the locals.
Dorothy it's Gail's sandbox he makes the rules. Don't go away mad just go away.
ReplyDeleteHey, hey, hey, even Gail is calling somebody Dorothy.
ReplyDeleteWelcome to the club, Gail.
It took you long enough.
RESPONSE & CLARIFICATION: THE “DOROTHY ISN’T WHO YOU/SHE THINK SHE IS” EDITION
ReplyDeleteOR SOME TOOTSIES ARE JUST TOOTSIES; AND ONE OR TWO TURN OUT TO BE THE “TOOTSIE” — WHICH OF THEM IS/ARE THE REAL DEAL ? — YOU TELL ME ! ! !
There are and have been a lot of Dorothy’s in my life. Almost all of them have been in the “look but don’t touch category,” one or two.... Enough said (Maybe, another time over drinks...).
Then there is the most recent “Dorothy” in Brooklyn-GOP-blog-world.... She’s an interesting case, and very much of the “women will not be silenced” school... (and we all know how painful that can be).
I and several followers of this blog (friends, enemies, frenemies and at least one “Fremen Ami”) know or have a good idea EXACTLY who she is...” Some think she’s amusing, others that she is annoying, and a few (friends and enemies) think that she is threatening or even down-right scary. Given all that, and the etymology or provenance of “Dorothy,” as used on the Brooklyn GOP blogs, one might assume that when I used “Dorothy” I was referring to Dorothy Gale (omg, we might be related !) as played by Judy (Frances Ethel Gumm) Garland in “The Wonderful Professor Marvel,” or as it’s know outside of Kansas, “The Wizard of Oz”... ( Note: to obtain full credit you need to be able to completely explain that quip). And, Frank Baumly, there is a little of his “Dorothy” in my reference-to and use-of that name. After all, a blogger and his flock of commenters, followers and even occasional readers need to have some kind of common lexicon, don’t they ? (rhetorical – just move on – but, I do like to use question marks; just look at my main post above)
However, the “Dorothy” that is the main and principal referent in MY use of “Dorothy” on this blog about some-of-you- know-who is “Dorothy Michaels,” as played by Michael Dorsey, as played by Dustin Hoffman in “Tootsie.” And to complete the portrait, there is certainly more than a soupçon of Dorothy Day, with maybe even a little of Dorothy Dix thrown in.
As near as I can tell, this "Dorothy" is both more and less than meets the eye. So to borrow from the Bard of Stratford on Avon: “Who is Dorothy ? what is she ..." ... And do you think I can borrow the Halsten from her ? (I love to channel my inner Jessica Lange).
I found her on Facebook and she's one good looking chick!!!!

ReplyDeleteI have it on good evidence that Mr. Massey did not intend to accuse me of engaging in hate speech. I suspect he just read the comment prior to his morning tea and whiskey. Although he must have glossed over Anon at 7:43 because according to Massey's (Mr., I mean) standards, if applied across the board then that comment too should have been excised. That would have been the fair and just thing to do. Or maybe Mr. Massey embraces the philosophy of one former District Attorney of our county* who used to hold, "You want fairness? You want justice? You can get that in the next life. Here in Brooklyn you get me."
ReplyDelete*I am not sure to whom that phrase is attributed as there are many former District Attorneys - even one woman (but it definitely is not her.)
PARTIAL RESPONSE: THE "WHAT IS SWEET AND WHAT IS SOUR ARE DETERMINED BY CONVENTION AND CONSENSUS" EDITION
ReplyDeleteI won't address the earlier statements in the comment above in any way (at this time)...
On the other hand, I have reviewed the comment made at 7:43 AM with a closer look for "hate speech."
Without a doubt, it is very provocative and even accusatory; and it advocates a very radical program of re-education.
Where is the "hate speech" ?
Howard Hawkins for Governor. A vote for Hawkins will push the conservative and WFP parties down the line. Hawkins is polling between 8 to 10%. Why not the Green party? Always an empty bed at the looney bin.
ReplyDelete"What is sweet and what is sour is determined by convention and consensus."
ReplyDeleteAnd what is hate speech is determined by statute and a long history of judicial decision making. Both state and federal law define the meaning of hate speech. Therefore, please read the applicable law, engage in the proper legal analysis, and come to a conclusion that is rational before determining that a statement is hate speech.
If you find the above exercise difficult, Mr. Massey, feel free to call on me and I will instruct you.

RESPONSE: THE "SOME PEOPLE NEVER KNOW THE SCORE" EDITION
ReplyDeleteON THIS BLOG WE DON'T KEEP SCORE -- AND PLEASE NO WAGERING
Sometimes Dorothy (DM more than DG) likes to color outside the lines and makes a big mess in her activity book. Occasionally, she needs to be admonished about it. She really doesn't like that.
What "DM-more-than-DG" is trying to do is justify her use of certain terms against particular religious and political groups that she believes are oppressive, but at the same time and at the same place, she would deprive "others" of the same right. Then after taking that unfair and inequitable position, "DM-more-than-DG" takes offense at being specifically called out on it.
If after "DM-more-than-DG" responded at 3:49 AM, another comment maker, "Anonymous ... at 6:08 AM" sees it as "Dorothy 1" and "Gail 0" that's OK for those whose resort is to the law and the courts, and also keeping score at home. However, it means little or nothing to me.
And thank you all for playing so nicely with one another. Just remember Dorothy "DM-more-than-DG" is pronounced "Dorthy"...
Oh, for Jesus' sake, The Wolf Tones and Clancys both use the terms in their song lyrics! Glad it's so important here to be politically correct to the British Empire - after all they took such good tendering loving care of our forebears for eight hundreds years. Perhaps some of that PC could bwe extended to our own President. . .
ReplyDeleteYou can be annoying yourself you know.
Double standards? Liam Clancy? Why there's a song for this moment:
"Wake up and pay attention Katie Daley
I am the Judge thats going to sentence you,
And all the boys in Court have drunk your whiskey,
And don't you know dear Kate I've drank some too . . .
So off to jail they took poor Katie Daley . . .

RESPONSE: THE "WHAT EXACTLY ARE YOU SAYIN' DARLIN' ? " EDITION
ReplyDeleteYou say, "Perhaps some of that PC could bwe extended to our own President. . ." [sic]
And why would that be ? And sure through the efforts of his da 'n' mum, 'n' his grans in Hawaii, he wasn't born a British subject was he, darlin', even though plenty of the Americans think so.
But, to be fair with his mixed up backgrounds 'n' all, wherever he came from, he has plenty of "African" parentage, and plenty of "African" family, and plenty of "African" sensibility --- and with the Ebola, plenty of concern for "Africa."
And am I unfair, if as an American I ask with all due respect for his office and his other sensibilities, that, as the American President, BHO show at least equal concern for Americans of all backgrounds ?

Thank you Professor 'enry 'iggins for pointing out the [sic] typographical error. That is very pedantic and loverly of you to do.
ReplyDeleteRe: keeping score - it seems obvious that the results here are as fair as the Florida election recount of 2000 in which the wrong candidate was handed the Presidential election.
For many people in the Muslim world, the message and mission of ISIS/ISIL resonates deeply with them, in their heads and in their hearts. For many ISIS/ISIL appears to announce the arrival of the "End of Days," a fulfillment of Islamic divine prophecy.
ReplyDeleteA recent Pew survey of Muslims in the Middle East shows that almost 3 out of 4 in some countries believe they will personally witness, in their lifetime, events leading to the "Day of Judgment" and the appearance of the "Mahdi." The Mahdi is viewed as an Islamic Messiah who will restore Islam to its greatness and perfection.
ISIS/ISIL leader Abu Bakr al-Baghadi, whom many in the West regard as an uncouth barbarian warlord, holds a doctorate in Islamic studies and has been declared the supreme leader of a newly formed Islamic Caliphate in the Levant.
