I don't often agree with Mayor Michael Bloomberg, but when he's right, he's right....
In this instance, Bloomberg made a negative comparison between the UFT and the NRA with respect to how neither organization truly represents their membership.
Of course that made the likes of Mike Mulgrew and Randi Weingarten a little peeved, especially in times like these, when the NRA has gotten a little bad PR after the school shootings in Newtown, Connecticut.
Imagine if Bloomberg got really truthful and told Mulgrew and Weingarten that their beloved UFT has destroyed the lives of hundreds of times more teachers and thousands of times more young children than all of the mad gunmen and their NRA-protected assault weapons combined. So stop the crocodile tears about comparisons between the UFT and the NRA.
