Lester Chang was apparently lawfully enrolled to vote in the Borough of Manhattan until February 18, 2022, with his residence officially noted on NYC BOE records as >>> 19 Cleveland Place, New York, NY 10012. --- Based on that registration and address, Lester Chang presumably lawfully voted in the 2021 election held on November 2, 2021. --- Apparently, on February 16, 2022, Lester Chang prepared what appears to have been a lawful NYC BOE voter registration card, and he attested to and signed it on February 16, 2022. --- In due course, that voter registration card was presented for filing at the Brooklyn Office of the NYC BOE, where it was duly filed by the NYC BOE on February 18, 2022. --- That voter registration card listed Lester Chang's prior address in the box "Voting information that has changed..." as "19 Cleveland Place NY NY 00012 (sic)"; and in the box "The address where you live..." was handwritten: "... 1015 East 29th Street... 11210... Brooklyn... NY..." --- the voter registration card presented for filing on or about February 18, 2022 indicated that Lester Chang had previously voted, but the date of that voting had been left blank.....
As recently as November 16, 2022, NYS DMV records for Lester Chang indicated that Lester Chang lived at "19 Cleveland Place #4C New York NY 10012
It would appear that anybody wanting to challenge Lester Chang's residence in Brooklyn for the year prior to the 2022 election would be able to make out their prima facie threshold easily based on these documents alone --- however, we here at this independent GOP blog for Brooklyn and Staten Island have been assured that there is much more direct and circumstantial evidence on the issue of Lester Chang's 2021-2022 residency before the Assembly Judiciary Committee already --- and thus far none of it from Lester Chang or Chang's apparent legal representative Ciampoli
According to the latest article about the Lester Chang residency issue --- ".... [Lester Chang's election victory in Brooklyn's 49th AD] raised questions about when Mr. Chang moved to Brooklyn. Concerns were amplified with the disclosure of public records indicating that he had voted in Manhattan as recently as 2021. Mr. Chang insists that he has for decades maintained homes in both Brooklyn and Manhattan, and began using the Brooklyn address as his primary residence years ago. This defense hinges on ambiguous technical issues as to what constitutes a genuine legal residence, versus an address of convenience...." Chapter 3 Military Service During Hostilities (INA 329) are federal statutes that supercede state laws on residence for active military serviceman. It should be noted that Lester Chang was an active member of the service.

ReplyDeleteRESPONSE: THE "YOUR COMMENT IS INCOMPETENT, IRRELEVANT AND IMMATERIAL TO THE LESTER CHANG CASE" EDITION
ReplyDeleteTO: "ANONYMOUS SAID... AT 1:21 PM"
LESTER CHANG SAYS THAT HE ALREADY IS A U.S. CITIZEN >>> SO, "WHAT UP ?" WITH THIS NONSENSE CITATION OF SOME FEDERAL IMMIGRATION LAW FOR NON-CITIZEN SOLDIERS
Also, you don't seem to have a clue about the limits of the doctrine of Federal pre-emption and/or the limits of Federal authority over local elections.
However, if you really want to see the folly of any attempted "military service" excuse(s) by Lester Chang and his lawyer Ciampoli, do a bit of a deep dive into these two resource items for military voters --- [https://www.fvap.gov/military-voter/voting-residence] & [https://www.fvap.gov/uploads/FVAP/Outreach-Materials/FVAP_VotingResidence_Military.pdf]
.....
Lester was on top secret military duty and therefore unable to disclose his address. Soon the world will know why the CIA doesn't play games. Abbate won't know what hit him!
ReplyDeleteUPDATE & BACKFILL: THE "UPCOMING SPECIAL ELECTION TO REPLACE CHANG IN THE 49TH AD" EDITION
ReplyDeleteAN ASIAN SOURCE RAISED AN IMPORTANT POINT --- BUT THEY GOT IT WRONG
CHANG WILL NOT BE RUNNING AS THE GOP CANDIDATE IN ANY SPECIAL ELECTION FOR THE 49TH AD FOR SEVERAL REASONS.....
According to the "Northwest Asian Weekly: ".... If the Assembly refuses to seat Chang on the grounds that he does not fulfill the residency requirement it would force Gov. Kathy Hochul to call a special election to fill the seat.... Chang could potentially run again in that election, depending on when it was held. But a new vote held outside the regular election cycle might bring a low turnout likely to favor a candidate supported by Brooklyn’s Democrats...." (See "Chang could be ousted over Brooklyn residency" bv Maysoon Khan [AP/ Report for America] , 12/15/2022, Northwest Asian Weekly [https://nwasianweekly.com/2022/12/chang-could-be-ousted-over-brooklyn-residency/]).
However, if the whole Assembly receives a report from the Judiciary Committee finding the Lester Chang candidacy was the result of a fraud, and the Assembly Majority votes to adopt such a finding, Lester Chang might be prohibited from running to fill the vacancy that he had caused by his own fraudulent act, or one that was done by a key campaign operator on behalf of Chang.
If Lester Chang were to be unseated without any finding of fraud, a member of the Brooklyn GOP Executive Committee told this blog that Chang would not be the Brooklyn GOP candidate in any special election, even if the special were to be scheduled for a date after February 18, 2023.
If Chang can't prove he lives here now, he won't be able to prove he lives here for the special election either. Ghorra really blew it this time
ReplyDeleteThat "member of the GOP executive committee" should just come out and say they're backing Abbate.
ReplyDeleteMaybe next time don't let Brian Fox handle Lester's paperwork!
ReplyDelete943, the members of the KCRP Executive Committee who supported Abbate all actually backed Lester Chang's candidacy before the 2022 Election. The KCRP Exec member who opposed and continues to oppose Chang always said Chang was not eligible to run in Brooklyn.
ReplyDeleteIn 2016, Lester Chang said that he lived in "NOLITA" in Manhattan for 20 years. On his present campaign web page for the 49th AD, Chang says that: "... I have worked with the Board of Elections as a Poll Site Coordinator for over 30 years...." What he failed to mention was that he did all of that in Manhattan. There is lots of NYC BOE "paperwork" that indicated Lester Chang was a Manhattan resident for 30 years, and that he was paid for his services at Confucius Plaza for many of those years, but there is nothing similar at the NYC BOE for Chang at anytime in Brooklyn.
ReplyDeleteSo much anger towards Peter Abbate that he loses again.
ReplyDeleteAvery Pereira beats Brian Fox, Liam Mccabe, Mike Ragusa and Ari Kagan
ReplyDeleteHmmmmm! You don't say.
ReplyDeleteNick Chamberas is no chump. He's been the brains behind many winning national political campaigns. If he is with Avery and not with Brian Fox, Liam Mckay, Mike Ragusa or Ari Kagan, then my money is on Avery
ReplyDeleteAre Ciampoli and Cannoli the same? Ya know like Chanbareass and Chambles.
ReplyDeleteI met Avery at the Xmas party. I don't know much about him but I suspect he still lives with mom.

ReplyDeleteUPDATE & BACKFILL: THE "SINCE WE ADDED THE 'NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING' TO OUR MAIN TEXT ABOVE" EDITION
ReplyDeleteONE OF OUR TOP MOLES IN THE ASSEMBLY MAJORITY CAUCUS SENT US THIS BY E-MAIL IN RESPONSE TO OUR QUESTION ABOUT IT
"The Speaker told us that he gave Lester Chang, the Assembly Minority Leader, and some others in the Assembly Republican Conference every opportunity to prevent this Judiciary Committee thing from even happening. The Speaker's representative basically told Lester and his lawyer: show us something, anything, that proves you lived in Brooklyn for a year or more, and we'll accept it.... Then Chang and his lawyer either couldn't or wouldn't. So the Speaker was left with the no choice.... I mst say, the Republicans are doing a masterful job blaming this on Heastie and the rest of us. And how if the Dems follow through on this, they'll lose Asian voters for a generation.... In reality it's not our fault at all, it's Lester Chang's fault for lying and for the Republicans for being so goddamn desperate to field a candidate that they didn't even vet properly.... Because this all could have been avoided, and the Republicans are trying to make us all look bad, now some of us are really pissed. So unless Lester Chang's legal team is planning some dramatic smoking gun reveal at the hearing next week in Albany, then I think we all know how this looks like it's going to end for your guy Lester...." (Slightly edited for better [not perfect] grammar and to be more readable [GM])
121, how on earth does naturalization law apply to Lester Chang? His political residency is an unholy freakshow but he's a nyc-born US citizen.
ReplyDelete104, above, it sounds like the slipshod lawyering of somebody like Ted Ghorra, who has not properly vetted several Brooklyn GOP candidates in recent years.
ReplyDeleteLester Chang is at the top of Ghorra's list of "Brooklyn-GOP-approved but unfit candidates" that included: a notorious hateful racist and former cop, Vito LaBella, who said he hated Brooklyn and wished he lived fulltime on Cape Cod; an out-of-work boiler-room financial advisor, with an incomplete personal history that includes a serious record of arrests and criminal charges in the New Jersey courts, Brian Fox; a Manhattan after-hours joint operator with multiple convicted criminal associates, including drug dealers and murderers, and his own admitted involvement in systematic police corruption, Vito Bruno; and briefly until he was forced to withdraw from the 2022 race for state senate, a very woke young LBGTQ+ activist, Karim Elsammak, who was caught claiming to be an American by birth, even though he was born in Egypt and lived all over the world before landing in Brooklyn, he also was outed significanly inflating his business and work resume before being forced to withdraw as a 2022 Brooklyn GOP candidate and returning to obscurity.
INTERESTING BACKFILL: THE "UN-INDICTED CO-CONSPIRATOR IN THE ATTEMPED LESTER CHANG PHONY RESIDENCE SCAM" EDITION
ReplyDeleteOF COURSE !!! THE UN-INDICTED CO-CONSPIRATOR IS THAT LONGTIME SCOUNDREL AND CONVICTED ELECTION TRICKSTER >>> JERRY KASSAR
Here are some of Kassr's most recent lies about Lester Chang and the all-too-convenient residence that popped up in Brooklyn, which Kassar says Lester Chang always maintained:
".... On November 8th, Lester Chang was duly elected on the Republican and Conservative lines by the people of New York’s 49th Assembly District... Lester was born and raised in Brooklyn, pays taxes in Brooklyn, owns property in Brooklyn and returns to the house he grew up in on a nightly basis except for the time he spent in recent years on active military duty. While he did for many years live in Manhattan and vote in Manhattan, Lester returned to his Brooklyn roots.... His nominating petitions that contained the address of his place of residence in Brooklyn were gathered and filed without objection.... They are planning to run the question of residency through a Kangaroo Court consisting of the Democratically controlled Assembly Judiciary Committee. If that was not bad enough, the Heastie crew are using the old committee which is going out of office to make a recommendation about seating a newly elected member.... Not surprisingly the Brooklyn Democrats have been silent on their colleagues [sic] attempt to overturn the results of an election...." (See "CHAIRMAN KASSAR DISCUSSES LESTER CHANG, HIS INTERVIEW WITH CAPITOL CONNECTION..." Jerry Kassar, 12/9/2022 Official NYSCP Web Page/ CPNYS Social [Copyright © 2014. All Rights Reserved... Conservative Party of New York State, 486 78th Street, Brooklyn, NY, 11209... https://www.cpnys.org/2022/12/09/chairman-kassar-discusses-lester-chang-his-interview-with-capitol-connection-and-the-lame-duck-house-session/]
Typical of Kassar, given the real facts and the proper context, virtually not a single word of the quoted material above is true, especially >>> ALL <<< the stuff about Chang and his Brooklyn roots.
Definition of a "chump" is a blogger taking the side of Abbate and the only one not getting paid by Abbate.
ReplyDeleteRESPONSE: THE "IT'S FOR AULD LANG SYNE" EDITION
ReplyDeleteTO: "ANONYMOUS SAID... AT 11:59 AM"
WE'RE DOING IT AS A FAVOR TO GOOD OLD GEORGE ALWON.....
A long tome ago in a kingdom by the sea, and when the world was green, in an old maternity hospital on the edge of Greenpoint... We remember our room was carved out of the former delivery room..... Down in the galley/scullery, We were so surprised to see George Alwon doing the dishes after we had lunch or dinner --- that was his bit of "Palanca" for the success of our "Encounter"; and that was about 55 years ago.....
We were conservative even back then --- the times of Paul Adams for Governor and John Marchi for Mayor... We're pretty sure that George Alwon and his "New Era" friends didn't share those beliefs --- but ask Kassar, several of those folks are his best buds nowadays, and they have been for a long, long time, but not quite 55 years.
Jerry Kassar is a rumped Roger Stone in corduroys
ReplyDeleteHmmmmmm!
ReplyDeleteDo you think he has ever been "a rumped Roger Stone" out of his corduroy's?
Jest askin'!
Im sure Gale is suffering from Holiday nostalgia of the 70's. Im just not sure its the 1970's. Lets face it. That Paul Adams guy could be John Adams.
ReplyDeleteThis bio says that Chang was born on the Lower East Side.

"While he did for many years live in Manhattan and vote in Manhattan, Lester returned to his Brooklyn roots" when??
ReplyDeleteI think 12:24 meant Rumpled?
ReplyDelete"was born and raised in Brooklyn, pays taxes in Brooklyn, owns property in Brooklyn"
ReplyDelete"returns to the house he grew up in on a nightly basis"
"returned to his Brooklyn roots"
Uh, but he voted in Manhattan last year.
1056 -- Chang, LaBella, Fox, Bruno, Elsammak ...
ReplyDeleteSomeone oughta start vetting Bk candidates.
What a concept!
There are so many smaller lies within the Jerry Kassar-Lester Chang Brooklyn residency "Big Lie"; but this might be the biggest: "Lester was born and raised in Brooklyn, pays taxes in Brooklyn, owns property in Brooklyn and returns to the house he grew up in on a nightly basis except for the time he spent in recent years on active military duty. While he did for many years live in Manhattan and vote in Manhattan, Lester returned to his Brooklyn roots...."
ReplyDeleteThe worst part of it might be this:
Just wearing a Navy uniform doesn't mean Lester Chang was on "active military duty" while he was wearing it. In fact, in March of 2020, Chang never said that he was serving with the U.S. Navy, either as a regular or as a reservist, but he did say that he was wearing his uniform while doing "volunteer" COVID-related work for New York State.
Virtually, each and every moment that Lester Chang spent doing what Jerry Kassar called Chang's "recent years on active military duty" was really little more than a cynical political stunt to use his Navy uniform to advance Chang's political career, in 2020 it was his race for the NYS Senate from his home state senate district mostly in Chinatown, Manhattan. The truth is that Chang's wearing that Navy uniform was closer to a game of "dress up" than it was to any actual "active military duty."
Let's see what Lester says about all of that on Wednesday in Albany while under oath.
thats what makes Avery the perfect candidate. Hes been sleeping in the same bed he was born in 13 years ago.
ReplyDeleteLooks like the Navy is in on it.
ReplyDeleteThere's no evidnce of anybody but Chang doing it, and possibly people like Kassar encouraging the Navy uniform scam.
ReplyDeleteBTW, Chang has worn his pretend he's in the Navy costume in Brooklyn at political events; so why couldn't he wear it to vote in Brooklyn in 2021, instead of in Manhattan during what Kassar called Chang's "time spent in recent years on active military duty."
Chang served in the military so we could freely practice our democracy which says if you run for office you need to live where you are running.
ReplyDeleteSo did convicted fraudster Michael Grimm, who used the same kind of swag military uniform bit during a GOP primary when he was supported by Kassar as Chang has been pulling since 2020, but with Grimm's being a borrowed Marine Corps uniform and not a sailor suit that should have stayed in Chang's closet instead of being used as a prop for a series of political stunts; and now, including this excuse for his having been a Manhattan voter in 2021.
ReplyDeleteThat Alvin & The Chipmunks Christmas song was about Peter Abbate.
ReplyDeleteRESPONSE: THE "MAKE ALL THE JOKES YOU WANT....." EDITION
ReplyDeleteTO: "ANONYMOUS SAID... AT 2:34 PM"
NOT ONLY IS LESTER CHANG LOOKING MORE LIKE LARRY MELMAN'S "TOAST ON A STICK" --- HE'S GETTING CLOSER AND CLOSER TO HAVING HIS HOLIDAY GOOSE COOKED FOR OTHER THINGS IF SOME DA DECIDES TO PROSECUTE
Lester Chang's claim that he lived in Brooklyn for more than a year prior to the 2022 November election constitutes an admission that he violated several laws of the State of New York.
One of them is the NYS Vehicle and Traffic Law, which provides that: ".... 5. Change of address. It shall be the duty of every licensee to notify the commissioner in writing of any change of residence of such licensee within ten days after such change occurs and to make a notation of such change of residence on such license in the place provided by the commissioner...." and .... "8. No licensee shall fail to notify the commissioner in writing of a change of residence as required by this article...." Furthermore, the requirements of the Vehicle and Traffic Law are intended to impact and influence the determination of residence for the purpose of official Board of Elections determinations and general administration of voter roles in the State of New York, as follows: "....6. It shall be the duty of the commissioner to deliver to the state board of elections, at least semi-annually, records, in a format as mutually determined by both agencies, of the names of all licensed drivers of voting age who have voluntarily surrendered their New York state drivers licenses in order to obtain a license in another state. Where feasible the department of motor vehicles shall also deliver records of the names of all licensed drivers of voting age who have notified the department of a change of residence address. Such records shall be arranged by county of old residence and shall include the name, birth date and old residence address of each such licensee and the new residence address of each such person who has moved within New York state.... (See NYS VTL S 505, ss 5, 6; and NYS VTL S 509, ss 8).
Depending on the type of NYS Driver's License Lester Chang posseses, there also might be DHS and DOD remifications.
Appropriate questions about Lester Chang's NYS DMV records, and what he did or didn't do about his duties wrt "Change of Address" would clearly show his "intent" to do whatever it is that he was doing when he filed his NYC BOE registration to >>>show<<< that he was a Brooklyn resident.
that DMV stuff sounds real serious
