Hillary Clinton says that President Donald Trump led a “seditious conspiracy against the government of the United States” --- Is such a thing possible ? --- If so, is it necessarily a crime ??? --- or even a bad thing at all ?????

CBS anchor Norah O’Donnell asked Hillary Clinton  ---  “What is your takeaway about the January 6 committee and Donald Trump’s actions?”

Clinton responded with this  ---   “I would not be honest if I didn’t say I think there was a seditious conspiracy against the government of the United States, and that’s a crime.”

O’Donnell then prodded Hillary to say some more ---  “Led by Donald Trump ?

Hillary Clinton  then said  ---   “Led by Donald Trump, encouraged by Donald Trump.”

All of this begs three questions: 1) whether a President of the United States can lead a seditous conspiracy against the government of the United States, at all; 2) if a President of the United States can lead a seditous conspiracy against the government of the United States, can that act, and/or matters related to it, be prosecuted as a crime; and 3) is any prosecution of a President or former president precluded for any alleged acts that were the basis of, and pursued, in an impeachment that failed to convict.

However, if such a thing as ".... a seditous conspiracy against the government of the United States..." by a sitting U.S. President were possible, and President Trump had done it, then his actions  fell completely within the precedents established by our Founding Fathers  ---  one of whose great lines once was  ---  "...   If this be treason, make the most of it....”

  1. UPDATE & BACKFILL: THE "WAPO FAKE NEWS STORY ABOUT 'NUCLEAR SECRETS' IN TRUMP'S SEIZED MAR-A-LAGO PAPERS" EDITION

FIRST --- THEY AREN'T U.S. NUCLEAR SECRETS AT ALL

SECOND --- IF THEY ARE SO "SECRET" --- WHY IS SOME FBI OR DOJ ANTI-TRUMP JOKER CLEARED TO HAVE ACCESS TO THEM SO AS TO LEAK THEM TO THE ANTI-TRUMP WASHINGTON POST

If there is any breach of security and violation of the "Espionage Act," it is by the FBI or DOJ leaker, and the Washington Post. Minimally the U.S. Inspectors General for National Security or Homeland Security must investigate this leak of classified material by the FBI and/or the DOJ.

  2. The term "fake news" is now absolutely meaningless.
