Brian Fox said a little while ago that >>> "Tonight’s 9/11 memorial sponsored by the Dyker Heights Civic Association and Verrazzano Republicans was a beautiful and solemn event. Most of us can remember exactly where we were when that first plane hit the twin towers. Some of us have very personal memories of family or friends impacted by the attacks...."
If Fox were an honest reporter of the event at McKinley Park on September 10th, not 9/11, he would have completed his description by saying >>> Most of those here tonight are now contributing to and participating in the chaos and destruction caused by the 9/11 attackers by bringing disharmony, confusion, and partisan division into our community observances of 9/11
The photos posted by Fox himself are proof enough that the 9/10 event at McKinley Park was neither beautiful nor solemn --- it was a sparsely attended, highly partisan fiasco, with little real organization, that only diminished this year's observances of/on 9/11 by responsible non-partisan patriots and business sponsors in/for Bay Ridge and surrounding communities.....
Also, according to press reports, there was a competing candlelight ceremony scheduled to have taken place on September 10th at 7 PM at the Brooklyn 9/11 Wall of Remembrance in Maimonides Park (formerly known as "Keyspan Park" and/or "MCU Park"). According to the Brooklyn Reporter, Msgr. John Delendick had been expected to officiate, candles were to have been provided., and the FDNY was to present a musical program starting at 5:30 PM.
Where is Glenn Nocera? As recently as 2020, wasn't he the MC for the McKinley Park 9/11 Vigil?
ReplyDeleteYes I am sure if not for the "competing candlelight vigil" across town, McKinley park would have been packed with hundreds if not thousands of spectators all eager to hear speeches by Fran and Brian Fox. A shame, really.
ReplyDeleteEvent was so solemn that nobody showed up
ReplyDeleteFox is a leader.
ReplyDeleteThese picutres are pathetic. Was there anybody in attendance not employed by a political campaign or a Board of Elections poll worker hack?
ReplyDeleteWasn't Glenn Nocera's bloated corpse found in the trunk of that fake JFK Cadillac he has in his illegal driveway or am I thinking of someone else?
ReplyDeleteWhy a vigil on 9-10?
ReplyDeleteUPDATE & BACKFILL: THE "MEANWHILE IN THE ADJOINING DISTRICT WHERE VITO LA BELLA IS RUNNING" EDITION
ReplyDelete>>> THANKS TO OUR WORK BEHIND THE SCENES <<< THE BEST SHOT FOR A GOP LONGSHOT WIN IN BROOKLYN --- IN THE VITO LA BELLA VERSUS IWEN CHU RACE IN THE NEW STATE SENATE DISTRICT 17 --- LA BELLA GOT A "MENTION" IN A CITY-WIDE DAILY ARTICLE ABOUT OUR FRIEND, RUNNING SOURCE ON BAY RIDGE POLITICS, AND SOMETIME CONTRIBUTING COMMENTER TO THIS BLOG >>> JOHN O'HARA
One of our main wags for all things political, John Kennedy O'Hara, recently commenced a law suit against a consultant that scammed O'Hara for over $20,000 by getting JKO over a thousand patenetly bad signatures for O'Hara's Democrat petition to run against Iwen Chu in the 2022 Democrat Primary for the Democrat State Senate line in the newest version of the 17th State Senate District in 2022.
In all of the back & forth with several NYC dailies, in which some of us on this blog were working with O'Hara to get some coverage for his relatively modest suit for real damages --- we at this independent GOP blog for Brooklyn & Staten Island urged O'Hara to pitch the really competitve aspects of the new 17th State Senate District possibly even favoring Republican Vito La Bella.
O'Hara assured us that he made the pitch vis a vis the competitiveness in the November race to both the Post and the Daily News; and he thought that the NY Post would mention it in any article that they might publish.....
The Post did mention the Vito LaBella-Iwen Chu race, but it was only the merest of mentions. They included none of the details outlining why --- with even a modestly funded, targetted and efficient campaign against Iwen Chu --- GOP candidate LaBella could squeeze out a win, because of the very complicated ethnic breakdowns in the neighborhoods making up the current 17th district.
In any case --- even a "mere mention" in a city-wide Sunday edition is more coverage than anybody else associated with the Brooklyn GOP or Conservative Party has done for Vito LaBella and/or his campaign.
If Vito would like to send a nice bottle of Malbec to Galewyn, it would be much appreciated by everybody here.
Where’s the CASE of Malbec going?
DeleteAll of these cretins seem to be fighting for the prized trophy of who will get to lose to Boss Brannan next cycle
ReplyDeleteTwo questions the results this senate race will answer. Is the Dem brand toxic and how many Asians will vote?
ReplyDelete
ReplyDeleteTO: "ANONYMOUS SAID... AT 2:36 PM"
I DON'T KNOW WHO YOU MIGHT MEAN BY "CRETINS" --- HOWEVER --- WE HERE AT THIS INDEPENDENT GOP BLOG FOR BROOKLYN AND STATEN ISLAND THINK THAT VITO LA BELLA HAS A FAR BETTER SHOT AT BEATING IWEN CHU IN 2022 THAN ANY REPUBLICAN HAS OF BEATING "BOSS BRANNAN" IN 2023
Several of us analyzed the newest version of the 17th State Senate District --- Iwen Chu's election is anything but a lock --- especially if 2022 turns into a "Red Wave" election in 2022 like the race between Brannan and Fox was in 2021. That's because Some of the GOP's strongest areas in the 2021 race for City Council were in EDs that are now in the 17th NYSD.....
Also, given the racial and ethnic Gerrymander of the 17th SD >>> so as to create an "Asian" state senate seat <<< many Latino and Italian-American voters were surgically removed from prior districts where they and their ethnically similar neighbors predominated in the vote --- now they have been marginalized --- and that was done by Peter Abbate solely to benefit his personal sock puppet, Iwen Chu.
One big error by the team backing Chu is that they insisted that she take a third party line that actually continues to have a platform to "defund the police" --- even a "Cretin" like Brian Fox knows that using that as a wedge issue works very well.
in both general elections 2017 and 2021, Boss Brannan had to out-perform the Democratic Mayoral candidate by DOUBLE DIGITS in order to win ... and he did!
ReplyDeletefor those of youse that are a little slow (most readers of this blog) that means a considerable amount of voters pulled the lever for Malliotakis for mayor and Brannan for council (over Quaglione, a total loser) and Sliwa for mayor and Brannan for council (over Fox, another absolute loser) ... and this, ladies and germs, is why we affectionally call him the Teflon Don Brannan of south Brooklyn
Asian's are voting Republican unless there's an Asian running, then they vote Asian over party. Iwen Chu's election in the new 17th State Senate District is a lock because she is Asian. Asians won't vote for Vito Labella over one of their own. Vito should have jumped off that boat and gone to sleep with the fishes instead of shooting that campaign video
ReplyDeleteIs Eaton allowed at Brooklyn GOP events??
ReplyDeleteMax Rose declined WFP.
ReplyDelete2017 was a long time ago.
ReplyDeleteUPDATE & BACKFILL: THE "BRIAN FOX GOES FROM BAD TO WORSE IN HIS USE & ABUSE OF 9/11 COMMEMORATIONS" EDITION
ReplyDeleteFOX USES A TONE DEAF REMARK BY ASSEMBLYMAN PETER ABBATE ABOUT HALLOWEEN COSTUME AT A 9/11 EVENT TO LAUNCH AN ALL-OUT ASSAULT ON "DISGUSTING" & "UN-AMERICAN" DEMOCRATS ABBATE, BRANNAN AND GOUNARDES
On 9/11 Republican State Senate Candidate Brian Fox called Assemblyman Peter Abbate disgusting and "Un-American" for jibing about what appeared to be a "Halloween costume" worn by some guy named Lester Chang to the event.
A retired naval reservist named Lester Chang ran for the New York State Senate in 2020, and he used photos of himself in his camouflaged utility uniform with Navy markings on several social media postings during the 2020 campaign. A photo of Mr. Chang and Chung Dick, at what looks like the McKinley Park 9/10 Vigil event for 9/11, shows Mr. Chang in the dress blues of a Navy Warrant Officer.
Fox is right about Abbate.
ReplyDeleteUPDATE & BACKFILL: THE"HOW MANY EAR-FULLS WERE THERE AFTER THE FOX NEGATIVE COMMENTS ABOUT PETER ABBATE'S BEING AT THE VIGIL ON 9/10 ???" EDITION
ReplyDeleteTHERE WERE AT LEAST TWO --- ABBATE CALLED KASSAR --- AND KASSAR CALLED FOX
COULD IT BE THAT FOX DIDN'T KNOW ABOUT THE KASSAR-ABBATE DEAL ???
What matters is that Brian Fox cleaned up his FB page, and he removed the negative stuff about Assemblyman Peter Abbate.
New poll has Zeldin & Hochul split even 41% to 41% with hispanics. In the Senate dist 17 hispanic vote is as big as asian vote. Vito may want to drop that LatinX label.
ReplyDeleteVito is trying to be a democrat light. Chu is going to toss him out like a pan of burnt lasagna.
ReplyDeleteFURTHER UPDATE AND BACKFILL: THE "BRIAN FOX COVERS HIS ASS BY SHOWING EVERYBODY HIS ASS" EDITION
ReplyDeleteTHIS WAS TRUE WHEN WE MADE OUR COMMENT "... AT 11:12 AM":
"... What matters is that Brian Fox cleaned up his FB page, and he removed the negative stuff about Assemblyman Peter Abbate...."
WE GUESS SSOMEBODY DIDN'T LIKE ALL THAT WE HAD TO SAY --- SO THEY TOLD FOX THAT HE NEEDED TO DO SOME HISTORIC BACK-TRACKING IN ORDER TO COVER-UP WHAT'S GOING ON BEHIND THE SCENES WITH ABBATE AND KASSAR --- SO, BRIAN FOX'S ORIGINAL POST ABOUT THE ABBATE-CHANG INCIDENT iS BACK IN GLORIOUS BLACK & WHITE --- AND WE ARE GLAD TO POST HERE & NOW FOR YOU ALL TO SEE --- AND SO WE CAN ASK ONE BIG QUESTION.....
"Brian Fox for City Council... Sunday, September 11, 2022 at 7:00 PM... I was standing right next to Lester Chang when Assemblyman Peter Abbate said that disgusting comment to him.... We were paying respect to those brave men and women that lost there lives on 9/11, and honoring those that are actively on duty and serve our great country. The fact that Peter went out of his way to say that he was "dressing up too early for Halloween", is not just a cheap shot but un-American considering why we were all at the vigil in the first place.... This is a prime example of why we need to GO OUT AND VOTE REPUBLICAN this November. I'm personally calling out Assemblyman Abbate to publicly apologize for his disgusting comment...."
Riddle me this, Mr. Brian Fox, IF YOU WERE THERE AND HEARD IT, AND THIS ABBATE-CHANG THING WAS SO TERRIBLE AND DISGUSTING, WHY DID IT TAKE YOU A WHOLE DAY TO DO OR SAY ANYTHING ABOUT IT ????? [Only after Chung Dick had posted something about it first on FB --- and copying his version of the incident almost word for word from his post]
WE ALL AWAIT YOUR ANSWER, BECAUSE "THE QUESTION BEGS..."
notice how the rep & con are very supportive of Peter Abbate
ReplyDeletenotice how the rep & con havent given Vito Labella anything
Last time I seen Lester he was in a cowboy costume. The time before that he was dressed up as a merchant marine and the time before that he was decked out like he worked for Brooklyn Union Gas. Are we sure Lester isn't part of the Village People?
ReplyDeleteThe question begs indeed. I miss that guy.
ReplyDeleteThe same way we remember exactly where we were when we heard the news about JFK we will remember where Brian Fox was when Assemblyman Peter Abbate said that disgusting comment to Lester Chang
ReplyDeleteFox doesn't get it. He's not running against Peter Abbate; and Assemblyman Peter Abbate doesn't even have that many EDs in the district where Fox is running. Besides, Peter Abbate's bad attempt at a joke at the expense of Lester Chang was nothing compared to President Biden's using 9/11 to describe so many American citizens as a greater national security threat today than 9/11 style Al Qaeda terrorists were 20 years ago.
ReplyDeleteAll of Brian Fox's 9/10-9/11 antics were a big waste. None of it was any kind of worthwhile community activity, political campaigning, or good PR to most of today's voters.
Abbate is in a tight race with Robert Carroll. The contest is for the shortest member of the lower house.
ReplyDeleteThe Fox plan is after he loses to Andy and Justin he plans to lose to Abbate in 2024.
ReplyDeleteWhen Abbate was elected in the last century I recall Andy Newman wrote a song about him. Gale do you have that on your playlist?
ReplyDeleteWhere is Eaton?
