2022 Prediction for the Brooklyn GOP..... with a favorable wind at their back, and very likely riding on a high National GOP tide ---

The Brooklyn GOP will come up with no runs, no hits, and with so many errors to go all around  ---  there will be plenty left over for the next time, and the next, and the next.....

Picture New York State's biggest county with not even the hint of any elected Republican government office holder  ---  and with the one-sidedness of the total vote coming out of Brooklyn making any outside chance of a statewide GOP upset a virtual impossibility

That is exactly what we at this independent Republican blog for Brooklyn and Staten Island see happening to the GOP in Kings County as we head into these 2022 statewide contests, NYS Assembly and Senate races, and off-year federal elections

Is there anybody out there that might see things differently ?????

BTW, anybody that thinks Stephen Maresca is the answer to the Brooklyn GOP's Ted Ghorra problem, not only is not asking the right question, they are not speaking in any language that makes any sense to us, or to anybody else that has followed this stuff for any length of time.....

  1. If Capano can double his vote from last time he'll get 1.8%

  2. UPDATE & BACKFILL: THE "LEADING THE OUT-OF-STEP BACKWARDS PARADE OF 'SILLY WALKERS'....." EDITION

RE: THIS "LET'S MAKE A CHANGE TO STEVE MARESCA" NONSENSE

THE BROOKLYN GOP WILL GET MORE "CHANGE" IF IT TELLS ALL THE GOP GUYS TO TRADE UNDERWEAR WITH ALL THE REPUBLICAN GALS --- AND IT WILL WIN JUST AS MANY ELECTIONS IN 2022 IF IT DOES THAT AS IT WILL BY STICKING WITH GHORRA OR SWITCHING TO MARESCA, BUT AT LEAST THE GALS WILL GET NICER UNDIES.....

If you want/ need proof that this Maresca-County Leader thing is a bad idea, here it is. This on the "Central Park" Chambers Twitter feed (or is that the "Behind the Green Door" Chambers Twitter feed ???):
"Nicholas Chamberas@NICKBKNYUSA... Nov 29... Steve Maresca will make an excellent
@KingsCountyGOP Chairman. I hope we can unify around his candidacy, mend fences, build bridges, and focus on winning again. It’s time for a change. #Brooklyn #GOP #NewYork...."

  6. Kassar and Vella-Marrone want Maressca to be the top Republican in Brooklyn almost as much as they want Capano or Eaton.

  11. The 5 GOP council delegation coming in has decided to vote for the council speaker. This isnt all that unusual as the lone republican Susan Molinari was the swing vote that installed Peter Vallone as speaker. Things have now gone really bad for justin. Nobody is supporting him.

  12. Amazing how Justin became irrelevant overnight. Or so he thinks.

  13. The fake news about the City Council Speaker's race by the commenters above is both indescribable and incredible. Brannan is still very much in the mix of those leading in the run-up to the vote; and Brannan is mentioned over and over again by the well-informed media covering that highly prized and hotly contested position in NYC government.

It's far more likely that the leftmost members of the Council majority shut out the Republican members completely than that they might have even a marginal influence in the outcome of any vote, or even the expanding or narrowing of the field of contenders.

Right now, Brannan "controls" many more votes than Borelli.

  14. Right Now Brannen is 12:52 and is sitting at his computer posting comments.

  16. AN HISTORICAL NOTE: THE "OFFICE OF THE CITY COUNCIL SPEAKER" EDITION

BEFORE THEY CALLED IT "SPEAKER" --- IT WAS REFERRED TO AS THE MAJORITY LEADER OF THE CITY COUNCIL..... EVEN THEN, IT WAS THOUGHT TO BE THE SECOND MOST POWERFUL OFFICE IN NYC GOVERNMENT --- EVEN THE GOVERNOR OF NYS USED TO DROP BY FOR VISITS AT THE COUNCIL MAJORITY LEADER'S HOME ON FULLER PLACE IN BROOKLYN ON ELECTION NIGHT

I ONCE SAT DOWN WITH THE MAJORITY LEADER IN HIS OFFICE AT CITY HALL --- WE TALKED ABOUT THE NEIGHBORHOOD (WINDSOR TERRACE), POLITICS AND MY RUNNING FOR OFFICE THAT YEAR.....

Things didn't work out politically at the time, but a few years later when I mentioned the meeting at a job interview with a partner of a fast-growing boutique law firm, I was immediately hired. The partner was the son of a Council person from the Bronx closely allied with the old majority leader.
