More than a feud erupts between the two people that each think that they run the NYS Unified Court System

Both were part of former Governor Andrew Cuomo's Praetorian Guard  ---  but just like with the death of Stalin, all the members of the former inner circle are jockeying for pre-emminence in the new pecking order in NYS

Marty Golden's long-time friend and ally, Dennis Quirk, might have both bitten off more than he can chew, and just thrown himself overboard in one fell swoop ---  in his most recent tangle and dust-up with New York's Chief Judge Janet DiFiore

"The head of the New York court officers union was suspended Friday for doxxing the state’s chief judge in a Facebook post amid an escalating dispute over mandatory COVID-19 vaccines....  The state Office of Court Administration filed internal disciplinary charges against New York State Court Officers Association President Dennis Quirk for sharing Chief Judge Janet DiFiore’s home address in Westchester and her holiday home in Southampton. The official charge was misconduct.... "              ---  NY Daily News

According to the report in the Daily News, Quirk suggested that demonstrations be held at the Chief Judge’s permanent and summer homes; and in addition he posted both addresses. In response, the OCA suspended and filed discilinary charges against the union leader who bargains for the Court Officers and many other titles thoughout the courts in New York State.

The suspension is another escalation in an ongoing dispute between the union president and the top judge over a COVID vaccine mandate for court staff.

Dennis Quirk, who has been Marty Golden's chum since grammar school at OLA in Bay Ridge in the '50s & '60s, pulled no punches in describing how he felt about the CEO and COO of the New York State Court system  >>>  This is some of what Quirk told the Daily News.  “I only have one comment....  The chief judge of the state of New York, okay, Janet DiFiore, is the most corrupt and unethical judge in the history of the state of New York, okay?”  Quirk also stated that he would continue to work as the Court Officers' union president, which post he’s held for more than four decades.

In the space of less than three years, Quirk has lost two of his strongest personal and political supporters and allies, Marty Golden and Andrew Cuomo.

  1. It was the best of times but for DQ (thats for Dennis Quirk or Dairy Queen) but its going to be the worst of times for DQ.

DQ had big pals, Golden, Hynes, Long, Trump, Cuomo, but one by one they all vanished. DQ was big in many ways.

Now hes just a court clerk. On suspension without pay and if he dosent turn in his gun DiFiore will take away his key to the bathroom.

  2. Feud you say !! Lets just take a look at this feud.

Chief Judge DiFiore is backed up by Gov Hochul who is cleaning house.

Dennis Quirk is on suspension from that $91,000 a year job. He worked for NYS and hes making 91k ?

  3. Gail, you and the first couple of commenters don't seem to know how resourceful Dennis Quirk can be.

His relatives, friends and special hires are more marbleized throughout the NYS Courts system than a Wagyu steak. They aren't just court officers --- they include several judges and "Chief Clerks"; and they're in a variety of other significant titles. Quirk's people are up and down the courts across the state, and at various levels of the courts' hierarchy. In addition, Dennis acts as a bargaining agent for many titles in the courts, in addition to the court officers for whom he has been the longtime president.

On the other hand, Janet DiFiore is neither loved nor respected by anybody; and if Dennis Quirk says that she is corrupt, don't bet that he can't prove it in a court of law. Janet is a primadona that goes all around New York State with an entourage of assistants and a security detail of NYS Troopers, all of which requires several vehicles when they are on the move; and sometimes multiple tickets for air transport. All of the expenses are charged to the NYS taxpayers.

Don't be surprised if some big scandal blows up involving Janet D. before very long; and it won't be some routine complaint to the Committee on Judicial Conduct, it will be something out front and up top in the Law Journal, Albany Times Union, Daily News, NY Post or the New York Times, or maybe all of them at once.

  4. Daily News editorial board trashed Quirk today. All this talk about how hooked up he is but after 40 years working for the state and he makes $91,000 a year. My cousin has been with transit for 5 years and he makes more.

  5. What's that compared to this already blown-up scandal for Top Judge DiFiore: "... The daughter of New York’s top judge sailed to a state Supreme Court seat last fall after Gov. Andrew Cuomo elevated one of her main opponents to a separate judicial post, political insiders say....
Alexandra Murphy, 36, has quietly started a 14-year term as a state Supreme Court judge in the Ninth Judicial District, which covers five counties in the mid-Hudson region." NY Law Journal and many other sources.

For quite some time, Cuomo, DiFiore and Murphy kept mum about the top-down familial connection of the mother-and-daughter judges, or that at the time Cuomo first appointed Murphy to the NYS Court of Claims, she was a relatively new lawyer and had virtually no relevant experience.

  6. Now, the New York State Legislature is taking up bills to make diclosures of the addresses of justices, judges and certain other quasi-judiciary personnel a crime. Use of terms like "disclosure" and "communicating" suggests that even talking about such things might become a criminal offense.

  7. It's all about the Kids !!!

DiFiore daughter becomes a State Supreme Court Justice. A 14 year term.

Quirk daughter Susan becomes a lowly civil court judge. A 10 year term.

  8. 10:54 is correct. Quirk is resourceful and DiFiore is a crook. But Cuomo is gone and so is Quirk.

  9. I think Quirk makes more than 91k. He looks to be well fed.

  10. You amuse me Gale. Minimize the threat and trivialize the outcome. Judge DiFiore has a lifetime of public service that can end with just one bullet from a crazed assassin. And then who will run our system of Justice?

  11. RESPONSE: THE "EASIEST JOB IN THE WORLD TO FILL" EDITION

TO: "ANONYMOUS SAID... AT 6:30 PM"

I THINK THAT YOU KNOW VERY WELL THAT, IF YOU THREW A ROCK AT THE CORNER OF MONTEGUE AND COURT STREETS IN BROOKLYN, AND ANOTHER ANYWHERE IN FOLEY SQUARE, MANHATTAN, AND ANOTHER AT THE CORNER OF MARTINE AVENUE AND MARTIN LUTHER KING, JR. BOULEVARD IN WHITE PLAINS, AND ANOTHER AT THE CORNER OF OLD COUNTRY ROAD AND WASHINGTON AVENUE, MINEOLA, AND ONE MORE ANYWHERE ALONG STATE STREET IN ALBANY, THE CHANCES ARE BETTER THAN 50-50 THAT YOU WOULD HIT SIX (6) PEOPLE BETTER QUALIFIED TO BE THE CHIEF JUDGE OF THE NYS COURT OF APPEALS AND JUDGE IN CHARGE OF THE COURTS OF THE STATE OF NEW YORK THAN JANET DIFIORE IS.....

Also, why would you assume that the assasin would necessarily be crazed. I'd bet that you could come up with at least half-a-dozen very good rational reasons to cap the bitch, yourself, in addition to Dennis Quirk immediately becoming your BFF.

  12. Quirk got away with a lot of stuff for a very long time. Looks like thats changing.

  13. Just connect the dots: Cuomo is out on Tuesday; Quirk is out on Friday.

But over the very same weekend, Quirk was breaking bread together with a former City Council-a-man, who is still a player on Court Street, and former DA Hynes' biggest case-a-fixer; and they weren't just talking about the good old days.

  14. Quirk was very clear in his statement about Difiore. I did notice this Judge Difiore has palatial homes in Westchester and The Hamptons.

Difiore a democrat was the Westchester DA but a Republican back then. She prosecuted Andrew Cuomos ex wife Kerry Kennedy for a DUI over a sleeping pill. A public trial that embarrassed Kennedy. she was acquitted. Sudenly Andrew Cuomo appointed Difiore to Chief Judge.

A few scandals wont ruffle Quirk. But Judges dont survive scandal.

  16. A search shows Quirk owns businesses and property all over the place. A car dealership in New Hampshire.

  17. If you didn't look at Quirk so much, you'd have noticed how much "Janet" Fifi-Fiore looks like an over madeup queen in some Yonkers drag review.

  18. After listening to DiFiore suddenly Judge Kaye seems like the good old days.

  19. Gayle, wadr, we don't come here for "news" about Denny Quirk and Janice DeFiore. We come here to for real news about how Brian Fox has no money, no chance, no hope, no clue, and the only one benefitting from his campaign are Liam and his bride.

  20. The scandal involving Chief Judge Janet DiFiore (Glazer) and her daughter, Alexandra (DiFiore) Glazer Murphy, is that from the very beginning, the "fix" was in for Alexandra to get a spot on the OCA bench, which means completely under mom's administrative protection and patronage. However, this "fix" also involved other key OCA players, like Alan Sheinkman, OCA's Chief Justice in the Second Department. After an extra court vacancy was found in the Weschester County Court, Janet DiFiore's husband, Dennis Glazer, and Sheinkman lobbied the Westchester Democratic Party to put Alexandra (DiFiore) Glazer Murphy ahead of serveral senior and better qualified judges and lawyers for the "extra" County Court position, since then, another "fix" resulted in ALexandra's elevation to the NYS Supreme Court.

BTW, Alexandra's dad and Janet's husband is the same Dennis Glazer that Janet DiFiore appointed to head a "Task Force" for the Constitutional Convention that morphed into a "Task Force" to propose legislative reforms >>> on behalf of the New York State Courts <<< like making it a crime for Dennis Quirk to "out" Defiore's and Glazer's addresses.
