A new Yorker for over thirty years, Sara Tirschwell is originally from South Texas and speaks openly about having had to deal with a particularly adverse upbringing, and personal challenges that continued into her adult life. Having been widowed, Sara raised two daughters as a single mom --- and she touts this as her greatest accomplishment
Even though she was a virtual unknown in the early stages of her campaign for mayor, Sara led the Republican mayoral field in fundraising based on the mid-March campaign finance filings. In addition, she has bolstered her available cash by a loan from her own funds that she made to the campaign
Sara Tirschwell has been a Wall Street executive; and she is currently the CFO of mental health non-profit organization called Foundation House --- AND --- Sara credibly presents herself as a "financial expert" capable of guiding New York City out of the current fiscal and economic crises immediately caused by the COVID-19 and the drastic responses to it.
Sara is the only female Republican candidate running for mayor in 2021; and she is attempting to become the city’s first woman mayor.
Her campaign message largely focuses on the issues of public safety, revitalizing the city and local economies, quality of life, and aggressive municipal regulatory reform. In addition, Sara Tirschwell has new plans that address the city’s disparities in housing educational opportunity for many of those who have ben left behind or left out completely.
If she is a "financial expert" than explain why she cant raise $300?
ReplyDeleteIf she finished high school then she beats curtis & the cabbie.
ReplyDeleteRESPONSE: THE "IT'S TOO BAD THAT YOU CAN'T READ" EDITION
ReplyDeleteTO: "ANONYMOUS SAID... AT 2:42 PM"
DIDN'T YOU READ THE PART OF OUR MAIN ARTICLE ABOVE THAT SAID "SARA [TIRSCHWELL] LED THE REPUBLICAN MAYORAL FIELD IN FUND RAISING...."
Here are the facts about the three GOP primary contenders for mayor >>> all three candidates are participating in the public funds program but only Sara Tirschwell opted into the >>> old rules <<<.
So far, Tirschwell shows a strong fundraising lead as of the March filing date: she has raised nearly $320,000. A large part of that, nearly $204,000, came from donors outside NYC. In addition, she has loaned her campaign another $300,000 in personal funds. To the date of the filing, the Tirschwell campaign spent $187,000. The campaign lists $432,000 in cash on hand as of the mid-March filing. Sara Tirschwell raised her funds froms 237 contributors, whose average donation size is $1,347.
Compare that to what Mateo and Sliwa have done fund-raising-wise:
Fernando Mateo, who formally has the backing of the Republican Party county organizations in Manhattan, Queens, and the Bronx, reportedly has raised a little more than $200,000 for his campaign. So far his campaign spent about $20,000, leaving him with roughly $180,000 in cash on hand as of his March filing. Mateo says that he had 866 donors who gave his campaign an average of $231; and almost $140,000 of his donations came from NYC residents.
Though Curtis Sliwa has spent months talking up his mayoral campaign, and formally has the support of the Staten Island and Brooklyn Republican Party organizations >>> it was only recently that he held an "official kick-off event." As a result, Sliwa's campaign reports that he has raised only a total of $10,244. As of the March filings, the Sliwa campaign has spent no funds. Sliwa reports that he has only 64 donors who made an average contribution of $160. His fundraising was split almost 50-50 between NYC residents and nonresidents.
Now thats real journalism.
ReplyDeleteUPDATE & BACKFILL: THE "ONLY REPUBLICAN CANDIDATE ALREADY ON THE NOVEMBER BALLOT FOR MAYOR" EDITION
ReplyDeleteBROOKLYN/ STATEN ISLAND REPUBLICAN BILL PEPITONE WAS ENDORSED BY AND PUT ON THE CONSERVATIVE PARTY LINE FOR MAYOR >>> UNOPPOSED <<< AND IT IS VERY LIKELY THAT HE WILL STILL BE THERE COME NOVEMBER 2021
There is a very significant piece of "earned media" that came Mr. Pepitone's way earlier today, when the "Brooklyn Tablet," the Catholic Diocesan newspaper of Brooklyn, did a nice feature about the retired police officer turned candidate for Mayor of NYC.
Pepitone gets 2%. How exciting.
ReplyDeleteI'll book the over on that.
ReplyDeleteMORE UPDATE & BACKFILL: THE "REAL EVENTS GET REAL EARNED MEDIA" EDITION
ReplyDeleteWHILE THE "BROOKLYN TABLET" WAS DOING ITS FEATURE PIECE ON CONSERTVATIVE PARTY CANDIDATE FOR MAYOR BILL PEPITONE, THE CANDIDATE HIMESLF APPEARED AND SPOKE AT A CITY HALL GATHERING IN SUPPORT OF SCHOOL SAFETY AGENTS --- AND ALSO DOING AN INTERVIEW ON THE DAVID WEBB PROGRAM ON SIRIUS
Clearly, 2021 candidate for NYC Mayor, Bill Pepitone, is already a >>> serious <<< campaigner in 2021, probably with an eye on a more attainable prize in 2022 or later.
I get all my news from the Brooklyn Tablet
ReplyDeleteCurtis Sliwa wants to rethink policing and redirect the police budget with two big ideas: first - cut back police in the subway system and redirect those freed-up funds to civilian organizations like the Guardian Angels; and second - redirect part of the police budget to mental health professionals to respond to those police calls that involve mental health issues.
ReplyDeleteWho the hell is Sara Tirschwell? Where is Brian Fox?
ReplyDeleteUPDATE & BACKFILL: THE "SLIWA PIPE DREAMS" EDITION
ReplyDeleteTHIS JUST IN, EARLIER TODAY CANDIDATE SLIWA CONDUCTED A PSUEDO-EVENT AT ONE POLICE PLAZA ATTENDED BY ALMOST NOBODY TO ANNOUNCE TAX INCREASES TO "REFUND" THE NYPD THAT WILL NEVER BE ENACTED..... THIS IS VERY STRANGE, BECAUSE SLIWA IS THE ONLY CANDIDATE THAT SIMULTANEOUSLY SAYS THAT HE WANTS TO "REFUND" THE POLICE, WHILE HAVING ADVANCED PROPOSALS THAT WOULD "DEFUND" THE POLICE
CURTIS SLIWA IS A VERY STRANGE CANDIDATE FOR MAYOR >>> PERIOD..... (LOTS OF PERIODS); AS A REPUBLICAN CANDIDATE FOR MAYOR HE SEEMS EVEN STRANGER
Hmmmmm !!!!! Increasing taxes to solve problems created by politicians' erroneous policies certainly doesn't sound very Republican to me..... What do you think ???
BTW, there is no real comparison between Bill Pepitone's appearance and speech at a real "Support the Blue" event at City Hall yesterday, with representatives of various police unions and all, and the look and feel of today's Sliwa psuedo-event at Police Plaza --- no comparison at all.....
