So far, the only "earned" media that Brian Fox has piled up is a small announcement bit in the Brooklyn Reporter that contains some threadbare biographical material --- and which unceremoniously links him to Mark Szuszkiewicz in it's ultimate paragraph --- AND --- a mention by the "Queen of the Click" (who was trying to be nice to the candidate, but obviously had very little to work with)
Perhaps one should not focus on Brian & Mark --- after all the two leading GOP hopefuls for mayor, Fernando Mateo and Curtis Sliwa, aren't setting the media channels ablaze with "earned" coverage either
Let's see how all these Republican candidates do with petitioning --- it's a nuts'n'bolts sort of thing that should be routine and easy --- but for these folks, it seems to be a joint and several Herculean task inside their broader Sisyphean quests
At this stage, things aren't looking very promising for the Brooklyn or City-wide GOP in 2021..... And it doesn't seem to matter which "insider" GOP team you're on, or which plug horse(s) you are backing for Mayor or Council.....
Fox left a long message on my answering machine about free sandwiches. It was an old school Boss Tweed bribe for petition signatures. I passed. Only extra fact I know about Brian Fox is he manages somehow to be even fatter than Boss Brannnan! Let's just say I don't see Brian Fox climbing many flights of stairs in July but then again when was the last time a GOP candidate actually did any work around here ?
ReplyDeleteTed had to give himself and brain trust leadership team another year in office by postponing county committee. This is a "Republican" shit show unlike any other in the city even Queens. The average age of district leaders in Brooklyn is around 75, and the average age of district leaders who actually do volunteer events for the party is over 80.
ReplyDeleteNot one candidate nominated has a chance to win a seat and even this dim witted leadership team knows that. Party give these candidates to Steelcase management or whatever its called these days, they struggle to make matching funds, they get trounced and we get stupid speeches at grungy bar about how great we did and how "we'll get 'em next year". Wash rinse repeat.
Councilman in waiting Fox is a successful businessman and Bay Ridgeite. And Fox is a Republican.
ReplyDeleteAre you any of the above?
RESPONSE: THE "IN MY DAY I CERTAINLY WAS" EDITION
ReplyDeleteTO: "ANONYMOUS SAID... AT 2:40 PM"
I had all the attributes that you attributed to Brian Fox in your comment above, and I never really came close in any election anywhere in Brooklyn. --- However, I once carried Bay Ridge and Dyker Heights by one of the highest percentages ever.....
MY MAIN POST ABOVE WAS THE MOST CASUAL AND PRO FORMA SWIPE AT BRIAN FOX POSSIBLE IN ORDER TO DELIVER A MEANINGFUL CRITIQUE OF THE BROOKLYN GOP AND THE COLLECTIVE CAMPAIGNS OF EACH AND EVERY GOP CANDIDATE RUNNING IN BROOKLYN THUS FAR IN 2021 (NEVER RULE OUT CRAFTY LAST SECOND SUBSITUTIONS)
Brian Fox might be the best GOP City Council candidate ever to draw breath, but he is still a virtual unknown; and he's running against a well-known incumbent, who operates a large and efficient political organization throughout his council district. In addition, the 2020 races involving both Mark and Vito (and going forward, the less said about them, the better) showed that even with stuff breaking better for the GOP than usual, with Trump on top of the ticket, and a competitive race for Nicole, neither Vito nor Mark was really that close at the finish. In fact, there are far fewer pro-Republican EDs in the Brannan district than there were in the Gounardes district.
As John Q showed everybody in 2017, a solid GOP candidate can run a solid GOP race in the 43rd Council District and still come up short. Things have gone down hill for the Brooklyn GOP since 2017, especially throughout Bay Ridge, and in parts of Dyker Heights, Bath Beach and lower Bensonhurst.
Mr Fox claims he is a "Partner" at "Phillip Martin Talent Advisors" a full service employment agency with no actual office address or phone number. I'm not sure that will pass the smell test.
ReplyDeleteIf we couldn't win seats with Trump at the top of the ticket and the Anti-LE mania last summer then we aren't winning City Hall or City Council this year
ReplyDeleteLooks like Brian did more eating on Sunday that petitioning
ReplyDeleteUPDATE & BACKFILL: THE "BOB CAPANO CONTINUES TO CHAMPION RATSO VITO BRUNO" EDITION
ReplyDeleteONE OF BOB CAPANO'S COMMENTS, MADE LATE THIS AFTERNOON, WAS THAT RATSO VITO BRUNO, WHO MADE HIS MONEY IN AFTER HOURS BUSINESSES THAT ROUTINELY OPERATED UNLAWFULLY IN THE WORLD OF ILLEGAL DRUGS, RAMPANT OPEN SEX, AND EXTREME VIOLENCE, INCLUDING MURDER >>> WAS A GOOD AND APPROPRIATE GOP CANDIDATE FOR THE STATE SENATE
CAPANO ALSO ASSERTED THAT BRUNO'S CAMPAIGN AGAINST STATE SENATOR GOUNARDES WAS VERY SUCCESSFUL, EVEN THOUGH CAPANO ACKNOWLEGED THAT RATSO VITO BRUNO LOST TO ANDREW GOUNARDES BY OVER 2000 VOTES
This, quite simply, is an up-to-date continuation of Bob Capano's "BIG LIE" program on behalf of his chosen candidate for state senate --- first, against all other more worthy Republicans; and then, against the man who had defeated Marty Golden. Now, Capano is trying cover-up that Vito Bruno's signal defeat in 2020 was almost by twice the margin of the 2018 Golden defeat.
Ghomora, Bob, Liam, Quaglione...what a bunch of losers. Together they haven’t won any Races....
ReplyDeleteFace it. The Brooklyn GOP has died. May it Rest In Peace.
i didn't think it was possible to find somebody fatter than brannan but then i met brian fox talk about a belly buster!
ReplyDeleteGale, you let Capano fool you again. You said Capano acknowledged that Bruno lost to Andy Boy Gounardes by 2000 votes. The problem with that is that Vito Bruno lost to Andrew Gounardes by almost 4000 votes. That's three times the margin of votes in the Golden-Gounardes race, and double the percentage separating the candidates in 2020 compared to 2018.
ReplyDeleteRESPONSE & A LITTLE MORE: THE "CAPANO SPINS & SPINS" EDITION
ReplyDeleteTO: "ANONYMOUS SAID... AT 12:O3 AM"
ODDLY, YOUR COMMENT WAS ALMOST COMPLETELY CONFIRMED BY CAPANO HIMSELF..... HE TALKED ABOUT THE HIGH VOLUME OF VOTES IN 2020, SAYING IT WAS ALMOST TWICE AS MUCH AS 2018 --- WHICH ISN'T TRUE, AND I CHECKED
Bob Capano expects everybody to believe that Vito Bruno only lost to Andrew Gounardes in 2020, because he was outspent by Gounardes by a factor of ten to one.
Once again Monsieur Massey is a paragon of wisdom, knowledge, and virtue. If Vito Bruno couldn't beat Andy G with all those tradewinds at his back (Trump on top ticket, Anti-cop madness, chaos and disorder in the streets) then we aren't going to win mayor of New york city or city council in District 43 or 47. Mark Szuszkiewicz (Republican Party, Conservative Party) and Brian Fat are not dynamic candidates. They are DUDS
ReplyDeleteEnjoy having conversations with yourself again and being the Bay Ridge Dems bitch.
ReplyDeleteSo you seem to be spreading the fake news that Justin is not facing any challenge?
ReplyDeleteRESPONSE: THE "A CRITIQUE OR CRITICISM GENERALLY DOES NOT IMPLY ALL OTHER THINGS ARE NEGATIVE" EDITION
ReplyDeleteTO: "ANONYMOUS SAID... AT 11:35 AM" & ALL OTHER HONEST AND TRUE SUPPORTERS OF BRIAN FOX FOR CITY COUNCIL
I HAVE CRITICISIZED WHAT I HAVE SEEN SO FAR OF/IN WHATEVER MIGHT BE CALLED "THE FOX CAMPAIGN FOR CITY COUNCIL" --- HE IS AN UNKNOWN, NEW AND UNTESTED, AND HE ARRIVED AT THE TABLE VERY LATE IN THE GAME
IF HE SERIOUSLY WANTED TO RUN FOR CITY COUNCIL AGAINST JUSTIN BRANNAN IN THIS ELECTION CYCLE, HE SHOULD HAVE BEEN PUTTING TOGETHER HIS PERSONAL TEAM SOME TIME IN 2020, AND USED THAT ELECTION AS A TOOL TO BE SEEN AND HEARD AROUND THE COUNCIL DISTRICT WORKING HARD FOR WORTHY REPUBLICAN CANDIDATES IN 2020..... THEN, IMMEDIATELY AFTER ELECTION DAY 2020, IF HE WANTED TO BE MACHO, ANNOUNCED HIS CANDIDACY OUTRIGHT; ALTERNATIVELY, PERHAPS BEING A LITTLE COY, INGENUOUSLY SAY THAT HE WAS STRONGLY LOOKING INTO OR CONSIDERING SUCH A RACE, IF HE WERE SEEN AS THE STRONGEST REPUBLICAN CHOICE.....
BUT --- THAT'S ALL PAST --- AND THE PAST IS PROLOGUE.....
IT'S POSSIBLE TO COME OUT OF THE GATE SLOW AND STILL WIN THE RACE --- HOWEVER, THE REST OF THE RUN HAS TO BE OUTSTANDING IN MOST, IF NOT ALL, OTHER ASPECTS OF THE CONTEST
LET'S SEE HOW BF'S PETITIONING GOES.....
LET'S SEE HOW BF'S FUND RAISING GOES..... IF THERE ISN'T A BIG BUNDLE OF MATCHABLE FUNDS, THEN MR. FOX WILL NEED LOTS & LOTS & LOTS OF NON-MATCHABLE FUNDS >>> AND IF THAT HAPPENS, THEN JUSTIN WILL GET EVEN MORE MATCHING FUNDS THAN NORMAL <<<
In this day and age, a campaign with few people and no big bucks is not a real campaign.
Plus, in 2017, John Q was well known, had some people and had some money --- yet he still came up short against Brannan. Now, Brannan is the incumbent City Councilman; and with that Justin will have his fill of both money and people; and this is very important to note: the district is more favorable to his brand of politics in 2021 than it was in 2017 >>> just look at the Gounardes-Bruno numbers in the overlapping EDs in 2020 election for state senate.
Justin’ campaign people are running this site again even though old man McCall will gladly do his bidding for him.
ReplyDeleteDomenic Recchia drew the lines for the Bay Ridge council district map. It is much more Democratic than Marty's old district and Ny-11 congressional. Brian Fox doesn't stand a chance of anything other than being fatter than the portly incumbent
ReplyDeleteRESPONSE: THE "OLD MAN MC CALL" EDITION
ReplyDeleteTO: "ANONYMOUS SAID AT... 3:04 PM"
THAT IS A LIE, A LIE THROUGH AND THROUGH.....
I DO NOT AND WILL NOT DO JUSTIN'S BIDDING --- ANYMORE.....
Lately, he keeps asking me to pull his pinky and see what happens. Now, I just keep saying no..... I did it once. a long time ago; and it really was quite a rip, but wasn't funny at all.
Now, I live in terror that somebody will do it while I'm around >>> I keep thinking, "What if this time, Justin has 'an accident' instead of just a big rip." You know, we aren't just talkin' about a few skid marks, this easily could be something monumental.....
Brannen v Fox
ReplyDelete2 tons of fun
Yes we should know more about Brian Fox. We should know about all the GOP candidates for comptroller, Public Advocate. But we wont know anything from the "GOP" (sic) blog.
ReplyDeleteSaperstein is a traitor.
ReplyDeleteSaperstein and Denaro are both slimy traitors. They used our party line and then bolted. And then Denaro decided to come back. We should have refused him
ReplyDeleteBrian Fox left a voice mail on my wife's cell phone about petitions and sandwiches at John's Deli. I love this guy! Everything he does is about food
ReplyDeleteThis is the Justin ass kissing blog along with the let’s throw Liam some compliments because he’s the only Republican who even talks to us blog.
ReplyDeleteWho talks to Capano anymore?
ReplyDeleteOne thing is clear here
ReplyDeleteJustin Brannan is the Boss and Liam is the Baron of Bay Ridge. These 2 idiots have known each other since they were boys and if you don't think they are in kahootz together than I have a Verrazano Bike Lane to sell ya
I can't believe Duke Johnson took a knee for Brian Fat
ReplyDeleteHas Brian Fox ever voted in any election in Bay Ridge?
ReplyDeleteYes 4:39 the entire Fox family votes in Bay ridge.
ReplyDeleteI don't know 'bout no Fox family jive, but I heard that he registered in Bay Ridge last summer but he never did get around to voting from that address.
ReplyDeleteGale needs to look into this, so he can stick a fork into Brian Fat, just like he did to Vito Bruno last year.
Brian Fat's voter history is blank just like his brain. He registered to vote in August last year but has never voted. I'm sure Fran Vella will ask him about this and more at the Dyker Civic Debate. Ted Gloria should have listened to his daughter and let Dick from the sporting goods store run against Brennan
ReplyDeleteTed should listen to his toupee and run for the hills!!!
ReplyDeleteA petty issue. The only people who will be swayed by Fox not voting are voters. They aren't a big factor.
ReplyDeleteNow! How much would you pay for Brian Fat's chances to beat anybody in November?
ReplyDeleteDid Justin vote before he got on gentile staff?
ReplyDeleteWho knows and who cares?
ReplyDeleteIs that the best the comeback that you have in defense of your candidate?
Who vetted this Brian Fox, the same buffoons that vetted Mr. Afterhours Violence, Sex, Drugs & Rock'n'Roll Vito Bruno?
So much trash talk on this website! Theodore (Ted) Ghorra is a great leader and did a good thing choosing an African American to run for Council this year against the Libtard Brannan
ReplyDeleteBrilliant! What a political sage that Ted Ghorra is.
ReplyDeleteDidn't somebody in the SI GOP try that very thing in Staten Island a few years back? And how did that work out?
That's the ticket, yeah! Diversity for the sake of diversity; now that really sounds Republican to me.
ReplyDeleteThe Brooklyn GOP is a like a fart in a windstorm, but it doesn't know which it is or which it's better to be.
Brian Fox has been at the Bridge view Diner for 3 hours allready. He is now polishing off his 3rd stack of flapjacks.
ReplyDeleteCapano will destroy Fox in the primary
ReplyDeleteComparing the Brooklyn GOP to a fart is not being nice to farts...
ReplyDeleteSpeaking of farts, did you see Ghorra’s Toupee recently?
Brian Fox has been in the race for 48 hours and already mired in his first scandal.
ReplyDeleteFox calls himself a local business owner but his "firm" Phillip Martin Talent Advisors has an office at 1155 6th Avenue in Manhattan (by 44th Street). That's a bit far from "local"
This begs the question, who is Phillip Martin and why didn't he run for city council?
