Why should anybody believe Nicole now ???

For almost a day now on her Facebook page,  Nicole Malliotakis has made a claim that she has been giving out face shields to certain institutions in the community  ---  and she includes pictures of herself doing it  ---  all masked-up like she's out in some front line facility,  herself.....

Given Nicole's history, isn't this purported passing out of masks or shields, even claiming that it's in somebody's memory, very likely to be seen as another phony photo-shopped non-event ?

After all,  why should anybody believe this proven phony pol about anything anymore ??

Furthermore,  isn't this a very inappropriate and odd time for a photo opp  ---  amidst all the death,  with people still dying  ---  doesn't it have a certain  "Send out your dead !"  ghoulishness about it ???

It's all on what is made to look like her "personal" FB site [https://www.facebook.com/NMalliotakis/?__tn__=%2Cd%3C-R&eid=ARCFmERPlNLCzksieXEM1pN1SR03jMDFM6gC7Dk_6RWlKBujvwVbWd-S3fJ_IWgCV8WZwIl_yJeWSL2a]  ---  Nicole certainly wouldn't want anybody to think that this is just a cheap political stunt at the expense of the dead and the dying  ---  Nah !  Certainly nothing like that.....

Too bad, it's too late !!!   Given what's already gone down,  what this really looks like is a bit of rank opportunism,  taking advantage of a family's loss and that family's generous attempt to honor somebody that had succumbed to the disease.

Clearly, what is involved is a cynical but pathetic attempt by the Malliotakis campaign to back fill for its earlier similar stunt,  which was shown here,  and by some of Nicole's other Republican opponents, and in the national media to have been a complete lie.....

  1. Gale the timing of this posting is so funny. Politico & Post have big articles about Max Rose supporting Trumps re-election. Public Service Max is cashing 3 government checks a week. But yeah a photo in a political campaign now that's really big time stuff.

  2. It's all over but the crying. Anything she do now just looks like damage control.

  3. I don't agree with Max Rose on much. On anything, really. However, I'll vote for a Democrat for Congress for the first time in my 43 years to prevent his opponent from going to Congress. Her kind of naked lust for office is exactly what the Founding Father warned about.

  4. RESPONSE: THE "MY TIMING IS A WHOLE LOT BETTER THAN YOUR READING" EDITION

TO: ALL THE NUMB-SKULLS THAT THINK MAX ROSE IS NOW SUPPORTING PRESIDENT TRUMP'S REELECTION

YOU ARE ALL PULLING SOME KIND OF "FAKE NEWS" STUNT --- OR --- YOU REALLY CAN'T READ A LICK.....

Neither the NY Post article nor the one in Politico says that Democratic Congressman Max Rose is supporting Donald Trump's reelection. --- PERIOD --- FULL STOP

What thinking person could possibly think that he would ???

  5. Anybody, Republican or Democrat thinking of voting for the photo shop queen has to stop and reconsider. It is obvious she will do whatever she thinks is necessary to get power. In order to suck up to deep pocketed politicos she replaced a bright well liked chief of staff with a mafia hood who admitted to trying to rig college basketball games, her people advised against it but she went ahead with it. Then she asked the wife of allegedly one of the most powerful leaders of a major crime family to host a fundraiser for her and went ahead with it even after it made the Post. Now the conservatives put out a fake picture showing her personally delivering relief supplies when she obviously wasn't because she was in Albany. It's definitely not "big time stuff" but amateur hour that should've been taken down right away.

The Nicole Bros coming on here and making excuses just need to stop.

  9. The King County Republican Party died the day Marty Golden lost. We may have a chance at retaining Nicole's Seat in the Assembly but that about it. Its all over but the tears.

  10. There are 6 or 7 people in Albany that matter. Nicole is one of them.

  13. Why is Liam watching Cuomo's dog? I saw Him walking a Dog on Friday and it look like Cuomo dog. I know Liam and his girl-friend are both working for Mayor Di Blasio but I did not know Liam was also baby-sitting the Governor's Dog. The beauty of Israel is slain upon thy high places: how are the mighty fallen!"

  14. Nonsense, the flat line and the long continuous bleep was 100% while the patient was under Doctor Golden's care with Golden's Nurse Ratched-Kassar at the bedside holding a pillow down on the patient's face.

  18. 7:10 the same paranoid hack seeing hallucinations that Nick C is going to go back and help Nicole. Nobody believes you that Nick is attacking Nicole and its useless to try. At this point Nick C could insult Nicole on live national television and she would welcome him back with open arms on the campaign.

  19. For years the conservatives were accused deliberately trying to sabotage the Brooklyn Republicans. Judging by the way they running Nicole Malliotakis campaign it wasn't sabotage they just don't know what they doing.

  20. Max Rose told politico he'll support Trump. Why should anyone believe Nicole now?

  21. Does Kassar get to fill Noach's spot on the bensch? They should give the Judicial Appointment to Liam to reward his years of loyalty and urinating on carpets

  23. Over the years, I’ve come under some criticism from those who feel I have dealt too cavalierly with the issues of illness, death, and loss. And there may be reason for this. Looking over my history, it is clear I haven’t always granted the end of life the reverence some others (even atheists) feel it deserves.

My irreverence towards this mortal coil has been the trigger for my being angrily berated by even some of my dearest friends (mostly Lew Fidler, alev ha-sholem) for the crime of not giving the Harpo Marx treatment to the sins of those who’ve come to the end of their days.
At least some of those who complained the loudest when I’ve done this in the past had rarely shown the living (who might actually feel some pain from their remarks) the same courtesies they demanded for the dead

A figure who’s been in the political life of this City for around four decades has passed from Coronovirus. knew the guy for most of those years (he'd even laughed heartily and repeated some of my funniest lines) and am not without an opinion or a few hundred, with possibly as many old blogs posts to match.

The gentleman in question could be clever and funny; if he tried, which was not always, he was capable of exuding great charm, and, as an elected, he’d served his district quite aggressively. I was sad to hear that he died a death which appeared to have been quite awful. But I also think his legacy deserves an objective analysis.

And an objective analysis would in many ways be far from a pretty one.

Further, if a page like Facebook, where so much politics is slung around so much of the time, isn’t the place to have such a discussion, where is?

This sort of talk would be crass at a shiva call. And certainly, shortly after the death is pretty much the only time to have such a discussion; to quote a great Rabbi, "if not now, when?" I suggest that the funeral is the proper place for eulogies, and that sites like Facebook are the appropriate place for other commentary. Facebook is generally considered a free speech zone. If we wanted to be tasteful, we'd be elsewhere.

As such, I’m unmoved by complaints about the pain such posting might cause to the bereaved, partially because I’m dubious that many so situated choose to surf the web looking for comfort. If so, perhaps they should cover their monitors as well as their mirrors.

And yet, this time, I find I am unable to address the topic directly because of the circumstances of the death.

A Holocaust comparison is oh so inapt, although, as my survivor mother-in-law reminds me, there is resemblance at times to a lite-version on her time in the attic.

But I’m betting that Holocaust deaths were not accompanied by detailed discussions of the bad deeds of the departed.

And I’m feeling that, though this may be the only time we will have for an honest discussion of the departed’s legacy, we would, at this juncture, all be better off without it, though I will certainly defend without hesitation those who feel and post otherwise.

Gaylen---you have some personal knowledge too; what's your view?

  24. RESPONSE: THE "REAL MOMENT OF 'IT JUST DOESN'T MATTER'" EDITION

    TO: "GATEMOUTH"

GOOD TO HEAR FROM YOU, OLD FRIEND --- I HOPE YOU AND YOURS ARE WELL, AND WEATHERING THIS CORONAVIRUS STORM IN A SAFE AND COMFORTABLE HARBOR..... I'M OUT-OF-TOWN IN MY FLORIDA BUNKER BY THE SEA

NONETHELESS, I DID GET WORD ABOUT THE MAN YOU MENTIONED AND HIS PASSING IN AND FROM THE CORONA.....

Lots of things could be said about the man --- and at one time or another I said quite a few of them myself..... I specifically remember calling the man "King Cong" once, and that was not in any way a positive reference at the time. I am sure that you know better than I many of the bad things that might be mentioned, even now.....

However, I chose a different POV --- one with which I am more comfortable..... Here's what I wrote earlier today on a non-political FB page that I administer:

"I just got word --- the last man that I ever ran against for a public office (for Civil Court Judge in 2007), Noach Dear, has succumbed to the Coronavirus.

We had become friends while he served in the Brooklyn Civil Court, and several times I served as his court attorney there. He was also good friends to my boss Supreme Court Justice Peter Seeney, and we all continued our friendships with Noach Dear when he became a NYS Supreme Court Justice in our building.

Along the line, and over the years, it is possible that Noach was the source of one or two or three important leads for features on the Galewyn Massey political blog. In any case, Noach will be missed by both Jim and Gale.....
    --- JPMcC [GM]"

Regardless of how anybody might choose to chatter about any of this, the most significant reality for everybody but the man lost and his G-d is that >>> "... The rest is silence." And that is the way that G-d will speak to the rest of us about it, in silence.
