Open matters at the end of 2019..... The sex abuse charges against Bishop DiMarzio and real estate moves for a variety of reasons, and how those matters impact and effect Marty Golden, John Quaglione and the Brooklyn GOP

It's the cusp of the New Year  ---  Old Year 2019 out & New Year 2020 in.....

As a person very interested in the goings on inside the Brooklyn GOP,  one needs to address a couple of 800 Pound Gorillas in the room  ---  Brooklyn GOP "Leaders" Marty Golden and John Quaglione have developed a very close association with Brooklyn's Godfather Bishop Nicky Mars (formally known as Nicholas Di Marzio, the Bishop Ordinary of the Roman Catholic Diocese of Brooklyn)  ---  in fact,  they have been reported to work for him and his Diocese

Unfortunately,  those relationships with DiMarzio by Golden and Quaglione make what follows,  a very political and very Republican business, indeed  ---  and a very unfinished business at that.....

Here are a few of wide open matters and/or issues that should be addressed by Golden and/or Quaglione:

1) Since John Quaglione is employed as one of DiMarzio's PR scoundrels, I'll address this first question to JQ:  On November 20th of this year, your boss, Nicky Mars, made a statement promising "more information" and "transparency" regarding the charges of sex abuse leveled against him by Mitchell Garabedian on behalf of a then-infant victim, Mark Matzek.  In fact, this is exactly what DiMarzio promised to all of us,  "....  You have a right to more information on this matter and I pledge to you continued transparency in a future column...."  ---  As a spokesperson for Bishop DiMarzio and the Diocese of Brooklyn can you explain why almost six weeks have passed and there has been no more "information";  "detail";  "clarity" or "transparency" as to the particular abuse alleged by Mr. Garabedian ?

2) Since the second question is very related to the first (it's a virtual follow-up), I'll address this question to John Quaglione, as well  ---  It has been reported, by Bishop DiMarzio and others that Pope Francis knew about the Garabedian-Matzek charges while DiMarzio was in Rome, and that the the Pope and DiMarzio discussed the matter.  What did the Pope know ?  When did he know it ??  And what did he say to DiMarzio about it ???  ---  That is especially important,  because "... the Church 'is preparing to begin an investigation' into the accusations, Brooklyn Diocese spokeswoman Adriana Rodriguez told The Post. DiMarzio is waiting for 'further instructions' from the Vatican regarding the investigation, Rodriguez said...."

Although similar questions could easily be asked of  Quaglione's former boss Marty Golden, the most recent open matters with respect to Marty Golden have to do with what Marty is doing vis a vis immigrants, legal and illegal, in connection with his rather vaguely described job for the Diocese of Brooklyn and its Bishop, aka Nicky Mars.

3) The question directed at Marty Golden  is broad,  but relevant  ---  what kinds of real estate matters have come up in the various activities that Marty Golden has engaged in on behalf of the Diocese of Brooklyn and Bishop DiMarzio; and has Marty gotten any additional financial benefit from that directly or indirectly ?

  3. Golden and Quaglione no longer hold or are running for public office. No explanations needed or required.

  4. Everybody knows John Q begged Kassar to make him a District Leader but now Q can't take the heat of holding public office. Time for Q to step aside and hand over the keys to Liam.

  5. Kassar will endorse Liam and then everyone will come aboard, as usual.

  6. Does anybody even pretend that Ted Ghorra has a meaningful 'leadership' role in the Kings County Republican Organization?
There are one or more elected Democrats, and Dem County Boss Frank Seddio, who all have more influence over the Brooklyn GOP than Ghorra does.

  7. Marty's down to under $240,000.

  8. Why does John Q think that his Tweets about how bad things have gotten in Bay Ridge is any kind of leadership, Republican or otherwise?

  9. John Q for Senate.

    Liam for Rehab

  11. Good Day to all on the dawn of a new decade. Time to ring out the old and bring in the new.

Marty had a good run. For Marty that is.

John Q is still squeezing an income out of those grade school connections.

Liam is the future and we should all thank the Lord for looking over us.

  12. Since when did our local GOP leaders become such a group of pearl clutching pansies? We are supposed to be tough and strong. We are supposed to be hunters and gatherers and PROVIDE for our FAMILIES. But yet here we are crying about people jumping turnstyles being "released" into society as if they were axe murderers. I am a proud NRA member and I express the 2nd Amendment in my home. Quaglione and Capano need to stop whining and crying about bail. Who really do cares? We need our Local Republican Men to be STRONG VIRILE LEADERS not pansies posting photos of graphitti and candy wrappers on the sidewalk. You know who would be a strong leader? LIAM MCCABE THAT'S WHO!!!

  14. About that unfinished business from 2019: how about having a legislative leader who isn't constantly getting hammered

  15. Perhaps John Q can address why Ted Ghorra's wife is telling everybody that she will have a job at the new Catholic Academy when the interviews haven't begun yet. Seems Corruption fits like a glove when it comes to John Q

  19. 545, the commenter you refer to as '1:19' sounds more like a UFA/MMA he-fan than a WWE teeny-weeny; with maybe some time left for NASCAR and a liddabiddacountranwessern

  21. Commentor at 646 and 1147

If you look on FB you can see he is traveling to Aruba and has been there for a while.

He must REALLY miss dealing with Golden, Kassar and the other losers.

  22. Ted Ghorra's wife telling everyone who will listen that she will be the new Principal at the new St Anselm Academy and that Quaglione "worked out a deal" to make it happen "behind closed doors". I expect Gail to work on a full expose

  26. UPDATE: THE "CATHOLIC CHURCH PR GUY JOHN QUAGLIONE HAS NOTHING TO SAY" EDITION

SO, GOOD OLD JQ, WHAT'S YOUR TAKE ON THE POPE'S SLAP OF AN OVER ENTHUSIASTIC PILGRIM IN SAINT PETER'S SQUARE --- FEEL FREE TO MINIMIZE IT OR EVEN JUSTIFY IT --- OR EVEN PRAISE THE POPE FOR ACKNOWLEDGING THAT HE JUST LOST IT AND MADE A MISTAKE --- BUT, JOHN, DON'T JUST IGNORE IT LIKE IT NEVER HAPPENED, LIKE YOU HAVE DONE ON SO MANY ISSUES IN THE PAST

I'm sure if Pope Francis ran the woman over with his "Pope Mobile" Quaglione would know what to say --- he's had some experience with that sort of thing.

BTW, on the current open questions posed in the main text above, I see that neither John Quaglione nor Marty Golden has made any answers to the questions posed vis a vis the "Open Matters at the End of 2019"..... Somebody sort of "answered" for both of the guys that I thought were holding themselves out as Brooklyn GOP leaders, and that person asserted that neither guy needed to answer because they weren't elected officials nor were they running for elective office.

Okay, maybe that's fair, I doubt that it's in any way accurate. But in any case, my readers would probably like to see some confirmation from the two guys themselves --- that is, something from John Quaglione and/or Marty Golden clearly stating that they are neither elected officials nor running for any elective office.

So far, it's only one unattributed mention.....

  31. The real question here is what does Marty plan to do with his $400,000 warchest? Will he fund Marko and Liam's campaigns? If not, Vito Bruno vs. Liam will be no contest because Liam won't be able to raise a penny and Bruno has The Bucks. I think Marty should use that money to help Marko and Liam get elected for Marty is the one who put us in the position we are in right now behind the 8-ball with our pants down

  33. Liam’s only hope is that Vito decides not to run. If Vito runs he wins the primary easily. People know him as a viable candidate.

  34. Isn't there anybody who knows what happened to John Quaglione?

I think he was last seen either at the Holsten's Ice Cream Parlor or the Machus Red Fox Restaurant, both in Bloomfield.

He had binoculars too and sunglasses. Like he was undercover
He was taking photos of graphiti and gum in the street
I hope Dunkin didn't screw up his latte order agian
I started singing "Secret Agent Man"

  39. RESPONSE: THE "THIS IS NO LAUGHING MATTER" EDITION

TO SEVERAL OF THE COMMENTERS ABOVE --- JOKES ABOUT SOMEBODY HAVING A COMPLETE MENTAL BREAKDOWN ARE ABSOLUTELY NOT APPROPRIATE --- THAT SEEMS TO BE WHAT'S GOING ON WITH JOHN QUAGLIONE --- JUST LOOK AT HIS RECENT SOCIAL MEDIA ACTIVITY

First, Q mentioned somebody being let off too easily for killing somebody with their car. Next Q suddenly decided that Mayor De Blasio is a good guy to be quoting in support of one of Q's pet peeves, although admittedly it was with very faint praise. Third, Quaglione, the Catholic PR expert, decided that everybody already has forgotten about the Pope's slapping incident, so everybody wouldn't think it was unusual for this Pope to be speaking out about violence against women. And this takes the cake, John Quaglione thinks that everybody should support a solidarity march for "Monsey, Brooklyn, Jersey City" --- surely JQ knows that those three communities are linked as bastions in the institutional cover up of scandals involving Roman Catholic and Orthodox Jewish pedophilia

  40. It's the same GOP misfits and trolls pushing Vito Bruno. They will lose to Liam

    ReplyDelete
  41. It would seem Quaglione is coming unglued.
The stress of keeping a lid on the endless Diocese scandals is really getting to him.

Liam Mcabe is the calm, steady hand we need during these dark times.

    ReplyDelete
  42. John Q's job requires him to travel outside of Bayridge for the first time in 30 years. He is not accustomed to reality beyond 5th Avenue and 75th Street. John Q's tweets read like a man released into the wild after 3 decades in captivity.

    ReplyDelete
  43. The nomination is Vito's if he wants it. Even the usual suspects pushing candidacies like Liam or Fran are afraid to come out and do it officially. Their only argument right now is we need them because we can't find a serious candidate willing to run, that argument falls apart if Vito steps up.

  44. RESPONSE: THE "NOT SO FAST, KEMO SABE" EDITION

TO: "ANONYMOUS SAID... AT 8:48 AM" AND OTHERS HOPING FOR SOMETHING FROM VITO BRUNO

SEE MY JANUARY 4TH POST ABOUT VITO BRUNO & WHY HE IS NOT A GOOD FIT AS A BROOKLYN GOP CANDIDATE --- IN FACT, HE IS UNFIT.....

Folks, this isn't rocket science or brain surgery.....

Seriously, an entertainment promoter with "connections" to Studio 54 and The Tunnel, maybe you need a road map and an Indian guide, like Brooklyn's own "Tonto," Jay Silverheels.

    ReplyDelete
  45. GM maybe if you spoke to some more people besides the usual suspects you’d know that aside from being a self made millionaire the Brooklyn Tech graduate and licensed architect Vito Bruno got more votes in the Senate District when he ran for BP than Gounardes got last year. He has been helping Brooklyn GOP for years and there hasn’t been a single GOP candidate who asked for his help and didn’t get it. Right now he’s not calling people trying to convince them to support him, rather his phone is ringing off the hook with people asking him to run.

  47. But Liam has an Ace of Spades card up his sleeve.... he doesn't have to pay rent!! That puts him at a considerable advantage over Bruno and Quaglione
