The Tablet --- meaning the Diocesan paper for Bishop DiMarzio's Brooklyn Diocese --- says the original AP story about YKW and/or the NY Times use of that feed was/were somehow "unethical" or raised some kinds of ethical questions.....

Seriously ?  I mean  ---  "SERIOUSLY !!!"

The article is posted under something called  "Editor's Space" by The Brooklyn Tablet;  and it lists somebody named,  "Jorge I. Dominguez-Lopez,"  as the author  ---  however, it sounds much more like something that John Quaglione might have put forward during one of Marty Golden's bigger driving fiascos in years gone by.....

So, come clean Johnny Baby  ---  did you have a hand in this ?

And  "Q,"  whether you did or not, can you tell me what journalistic ethical standard was violated by the AP or even put into question by something that the AP did ???  And what about each and every newspaper or TV outlet that carried the AP feed,  some just like the New York Times, including additional reporting,  and many of which are clearly part of the Catholic press in America ?????

Usually I include a citation when I make a report like this posting.  ---  However, this thing in DiMarzio's personal rag, "The Tablet," is such pure and unadulterated shit, I believe it would be unethical for me to lead anybody to it by something that I did..

If you choose to look for it, you would be doing that at your own peril.

  1. John Q is still involved in Bay Ridge community life while GM's boy Capano has disappeared...that is the bottom line

  2. Sure, by shutting down two of the last parish related Catholic Academies in the whole neighborhood and replacing them with a two- and eventually three-headed one, where more than half of whose students will have to come from outside the parish community where it is located, what's his next trick turning wine into vinegar and calling it a miracle?

Bottom line, if 'GM's boy Capano' never existed and Liam were put into a lifetime rehab joint, 'Q' would still be saying stupid stuff trying to defend the indefensible.

  3. The so called 'look back period' under the Child Victims Act in New York State has been in effect for just over three months and has resulted in the filing of almost one thousand lawsuits, most against the Archdiocese of New York and other dioceses of the Roman Catholic Church around New York State. With the last day to file such a look back lawsuit being August 13, 2020, that number could double or triple.

New Jersey will have a two year look back period beginning on December 1, 2019. The current talk about bringing sex abuse charges against Brooklyn Bishop DiMarzio, involve his time as a young priest in Jersey City, New Jersey, and most likely, they will be pursued under New Jersey state law.

  5. There are better uses for stones than making tablets out of them -- for example, they make good and useful wheels for a variety of purposes.
There is no need to re-invent any wheels, or in this case, specifically the millstone variety.
François-Marie Arouet - "Voltaire" had a good and simple plan to deal with a variety of problems caused by the Roman Catholic Church and in the Roman Catholic Church, and many millstones would be needed to get the job done.
Although Jesus would use stone wheels in a slightly different way, his method of dealing with the corruptors of children, like those obviously permeating the Roman Catholic Church at the beginnings of the Third Millennium, is equally straight-forward, but again, many millstones would be needed to get the job done.

  7. How come prosecutors never find any pedophile priests?

  8. It's the cops' job to find the pedophile priests, but they don't find anything they ain't lookin' for.
Ask Marty how many priests were arrested for anything when he was a cop, and it sure wasn't because priests weren't doing anything wrong.
Nobody talks about the pedophile cops, but they've had a network for years, boys, girls, the works.

  9. OBSERVATION BY THE BLOG ADMINISTRATOR: THE "JOURNALISM ETHICS QUESTIONED: DID 'THE TABLET' DO ITS JOB ?" EDITION

TO: "Q" AND THE REST OF HIS COLLEAGUES WITH SPASTIC INTELLECTS AND LAX CONSCIENCES AT THE DE SALES MEDIA GROUP, INC. AND "THE TABLET".....

"What was 'The Tablet’s' priority in this situation — to inform the public objectively or to help DiMarzio promote his case and besmirch the name of Mitchell Garabedian in public and in the process call into question the validity of the victim's claims and Attorney Garabedian’s investigation into the sexual abuse allegedly by one Father Nicholas DiMarzio in Jersey City in the mid-1970s."

"And how can the Brooklyn Tablet publish such statements about the AP, the New York Times and Attorney Garabedian without asking obvious questions to Bishop DiMarzio? Both the De Sales Media Group, Inc, and "The Tablet" seem to have taken DiMarzio at his word without questioning why he would go to the press before the alleged victim even filed his lawsuit."

"As readers of this blog and this commenter know, the suffering of the victims of sexual abuse has been at the center of our coverage of the abuse crisis. We have dedicated a great deal of effort and space to inform our readers about sexual abuse in the church and about the efforts to eradicate this scourge and find justice for victims and survivors. And that coverage will continue...." (This paragraph is unchanged in any way from what appeared in "The Tablet.")

"Neither the victims of sexual abuse nor justice are served by journalism that seems to have presumed innocence by any alleged perpetrator, even one for whom the journalists and their editors routinely speak, like the alleged perpetrator here, Bishop Di Marzio. And I need to call that out — it is my duty as a thinking person."

All the quotes above are taken from "The Tablet," but with the identities of the subjects and objects slightly altered and/or reversed. Interestingly, the same argument works equally well both for the victim and Garabedian, and against the alleged perp, DiMarzio, as it did the other way round in the original piece that was in "The Tablet."

  14. RESPONSE: THE "CUMULATIVE DI MARZIO RESPONSE WAS JUST TOO QUICK --- WAS THIS STUFF ALREADY PREPARED TO GO IN DI MARZIO'S TEAM'S PIPELINE ???" EDITION

    TO WHOM IT MIGHT CONCERN

DI MARZIO'S FACEBOOK GIVES US A VERY INTERESTING TIMELINE --- AND IT STRONGLY SUGGESTS THAT DI MARZIO'S >>> CRISIS MANAGEMENT TEAM <<< WAS READY TO HIT THE DECK RUNNING WHEN THE GARABEDIAN CHARGES CAME OUT LAST WEEK

Remember, when this story broke Bishop DiMarzio was in Rome seeing the Pope. Nonetheless, almost as soon as the AP reported on the Garabedian representation letter and demand for $20 million in damages for his client to the New Jersey Archdiocese of Newark, DiMarzio's Facebook page almost immediately was responding with comments and copies of letters from DiMarzio himself, a copy of a letter from the Dioceses of Camden, and most important of all, copies of a few testimonial statements from altar boys that purported to be contemporaries of the alleged altar boy victim client of Mr. Garabedian.

"The question begs" how was all that stuff all ready to go starting on 11/13/19; especially with DiMarzio busy in Rome ?

With all the communications, composition, posting and re-posting, and vetting and verification that had to be involved, how did all of that get done so fast ?

It's fair to ask: Was this all set up in the pipeline, and ready to go on a moments notice ??? And an equally important question: How did the DiMarzio crisis management team know that Garabedian's charges were in the works to get all of this countering material ready for such a quick response ???
