In an obvious blunder of mammoth proportions, Ricki-Ticki-Reilly has gone off on a toot --- He and some Canal Street area shyster named Dennis Houdek decided that they will try to sue a Democrat State Senator, several of his supporters, and a couple of Democrat affiliated organizations in Bay Ridge, Brooklyn for something that was clearly fair comment and constitutionally protected free speech --- Furthermore, what was said might have hurt the professional doorholder's feelings, but none of it caused him any damage whatsoever
What it comes down to is that some of Bay Ridge's leading politically active citizens expressed their outrage at Reilly for being a willing acolyte for an Alt-Right bunch of thugs and street hooligans called the "Proud Boys," who used an opportunity provided to them by Reilly to break some heads in front of the Metropolitan Republican Club.This guy Reilly is an example of everything that is now very wrong with the GOP in NYC in general, and the Brooklyn GOP in particular. This clown Reilly had a close association with both former State Senator Marty Golden and Golden's Chief of Staff Jerry Kassar, who is now the NYS Conservative Party Chairman.
Reilly's patently frivolous, vexatious, and ill-considered lawsuit might well allow an in depth inquiry into many of the more outrageous things that Golden's staff, on which Ian Walsh Reilly had served, and the Golden-Ghorra faction of the Brooklyn GOP have been up to these last couple of years.....
The MET club chose the wrong leader . Morgan would have been much better. But at least there is a Morgan leading Nicole's campaign!!

ReplyDeleteA couple of times, Dennis Houdek ran for judge in Brooklyn and got about 2%, that proves he had connections to Kassar and the Brooklyn Conservative Party.

ReplyDeleteIt looks like Conservative Party Chairman Kassar's fingerprints are all over this lawsuit against State Senator Andrew Gounardes and his supporters in Bay Ridge.
Any counter lawsuit by Gounardes or one of the other people or organizations being sued by Ian Walsh Reilly needs to bring in Jerry Kassar and the NYS Conservative Party as named defendants in their counter lawsuit.
The groupies see enemies and rivals everywhere because Nicole doesn’t take them seriously. Understandable that they’re disappointed Nicole only gave a token endorsement to Morgan when she realized he’d lose and didn’t send out one message to support him. Nicole stayed silent because she was told MORGAN was going to lose. But Morgan’s not dumb enough to claim he’s Nicole’s campaign manager that’s probably the girlfriend. Not the first time he got in trouble from her running her mouth. Like the time they had to drag her out kicking and screaming the night Grimm lost.

Gounardes looks like he has real trouble. The lawsuit is based on the money Gounardes raised after falsely claiming Reilly was a far right extremist. Andy is already taking the 5th when reporters contact him. This Reilly really has the dems on the run.

Bernadette DeVIto's article in KCP just doesn't say what you're telling my readers in your comment above (See "Gounardes Faces Defamation Lawsuit, Golden Waits In The Wings" 10-31-19, Kings County Politics/Lawsuit [https://www.kingscountypolitics.com/gounardes-faces-defamation-lawsuit-golden-waits-in-the-wings/]). There's no "trouble" and there's no "taking the Fifth", and most important there's no basis for a lawsuit based on what Reilly's lawyer said to KCP.
The real clowns twisting in the wind right now are Ian Walsh Reilly and his lawyer Dennis Houdek --- Marty Golden can't be happy with Houdek's putting him right into the middle of this fracas at this time. Who could believe that any professional advisor would tell anybody that the best way to kick off an election campaign is to sue the man who beat you for any reason whatsoever.
Houdek must have gotten his law degree in a box of Cracker Jack, because saying something like "Andrew Gounardes used this to his benefit in the last several weeks of his successful campaign.... It helped Gounardes raise a lot of money in the last couple weeks of his campaign to unseat Marty Golden.... Who knows if it might have made the difference....” in no way makes out a case for "defaming [Reilly's] character and libel...".
Andy has a lot of explaining to do.
