If the interviews with the jurors that appeared in the NY Post are an accurate snapshot of the Vetrano Case jury, these good and true citizens of Queens were already in agreement that Defendant Chanel Lewis was NOT GUILTY of one of the major charges --- and a clear majority of that jury had even voted to acquit Chanel Lewis of the charge of murder
Taken as a whole, this article makes it clear that this Queens jury had rejected much of the prosecution's theory of the case, as well as much of the tendered evidence, including testimony by a superstar, hero cop, and even what some consider to have been compelling DNA evidence presented by the NYC ME's top DNA expert
Oddly, the New York Post article not only buried any lead that this jury was leaning toward an acquittal, it hardly gave any credence or quantum of credit to that possibility whatsoever.... Boy, that really does look like some real editorial overreach by a paper obviously lookin' for a hangin' (See "Jurors on Karina Vetrano case wanted more time to deliberate" by Priscilla DeGregory, Georgett Roberts & Lia Eustachewich, 11/21/18, NY Post/ Metro [nypost.com/2018/11/21/jurors-on-karina-vetrano-case-wanted-more-time-to-deliberate/]).
Something else comes through in this particular NY Post article, and it's as clear as corillion bells on Easter morning. --- The trial judge, Justice Michael Aloise, disliked something about this case so intensely that he singled himself out to take the heat, and he put a fork in it, post haste.....
Didn't the defendant's lawyers initially plan to make an insanity defense. That's not consistent with innocence is it?
ReplyDeleteHow proud Liam must be that he got anybody to show up to listen to his buddy 'Wreck' Ulrich. Otherwise, why show such a small gathering on social media listening to the rogue Queens Republican beat his gumbs.
ReplyDelete11:32 pm, you are looking in the wrong place to find the real murderer and other culprits in this case. To start unravelling this, you need to look closely at how Chief of Detectives Boyce and Detective John Russo are tied-in to all of this.
ReplyDeleteOn 2/6/17 it was reported that New York Police Department Chief of Detectives Robert Boyce said a break in the case came after police went back through older 911 calls and found one reporting a suspicious person in the area near the attack. That 911 call was placed in May 2017, three months before the murder of Karina Vetrano. Also on 2/6/17 Chief Boyce said police interviewed defendant Chanel Lewis on 2/2/17 and obtained a DNA sample from him, which was then tested and linked to DNA found at the crime scene and on Karina Vetrano's body. Boyce is the first to have publicly said anything about the DNA when he said this: 'Karina helped us identify this person.... She had the DNA under her nails.... She had touch DNA on her back and there was more DNA on her cellphone.... So three incidents.... That’s how we were able to bring this profile up. And that’s how we made the link.' All of that had to have been completed by the evening of 2/4/17 because that's when Chanel Lewis was arrested and 'perp-walked' out of the police station for the TV cameras. At that time a police spokesperson said that a suspicious person report led them to develop Lewis as a suspect before DNA linked him to the crime.
Six months of investigating -- nothing, then everything needed for trial in less than two days. Boy, there's a lot of that going around.
Look, lets be at least a little honest. That was a nice crowd Liam had for a "club meeting". That's two or three successful events for this group and better than any other Republican clubs have done in a while.
ReplyDeleteHow many people did VeraZZano have last night?
ReplyDeleteMore than that TURKEY Capano had at the "Reform Party" FORUM! hahahahahaha
ReplyDeleteHow does a club meeting get triple the crowd of a forum with multiple candidates and press coverage.
You are comparing horse apples and horse chestnuts.
ReplyDeleteCapano's crowd was similar to Liam's but most of it was press and entourage, whereas Liam's had some of his new club members, but mostly Ulrich entourage and Conservative Party draftees.
Gail, I think I see what you are getting at with the Vetrano case.
ReplyDeleteIt follows the exact same pattern as the "Dufflebag Joe" and John Giuca cases in Brooklyn, and Chanel Lewis is from Brooklyn, right.
All three cases went nowhere for a long time, and the PR was for the cops was real bad, and then boom, everything just falls into place overnight and the defendants' portraits are all neatly up on the wall completely framed.
6:18 this was fiasco for Liam the likes of which no one expected. There were 26 people there counting everyone and half were from Queens, with exception of a couple of people the rest were there to confront Ulrich about his treatment of Nicole. He looked like he was going to choke as he had no choice but to say what a great Assemblywoman she is that she would make a great Mayor and is his “friend”. And 6:01 if we’re really being honest it’s not even a real club and was only the second meeting, the first “meeting” was a thinly veiled “sign up to work on Election Day” event and the second meeting was “let’s impress Eric Ulrich” day but it backfired.
ReplyDeleteUlrich will be the next Public Advocate.
ReplyDeleteLame Liam & Wreck Ulrich the team of the Republican team of the future?
ReplyDeleteAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!
Good luck with that.
And how many VerraZZano attendees were local residents who are not already involved in any of the other GOP clubs?
ReplyDelete...
(sound of crickets)
From the pictures and videos on social media it looks to be alot of new faces as well as a strong showing of current district leaders and activists. One would think that's a healthy organization... credit given where credit is due.
ReplyDeleteAgreed 948
ReplyDeleteSo let's give Capano credit for pulling together the most Public Advocate candidates of any forum to date, as covered in local press today
Verrazzano had about 25 people last night many of whom were part of Ulrich Queens group. Even Ted Ghorra had the good sense not to show up. And it was obvious most of the people from Brooklyn came to give Ulrich a piece of their mind about the way he was treating Nicole which explains why Ulrich spoke more about Nicole than he did about his campaign platform.
ReplyDeleteUnfortunately for Ulrich (and his biggest booster Liam) Ulrich tweets just 2 weeks ago slamming Nicole are public record that have been saved by many...
ReplyDelete10:22 to be fair I don’t think Ulrich went their with the intention of praising Nicole Malliotakis. I think he was surprised by the light turnout and that all these people were going up to him and yelling about he was saying about Nicole on social media.
ReplyDeleteCapano's column really put them on defense
ReplyDeleteLol. I was there and the crowd loved him. But dont take my word, let's see who the club and the county endorse?
ReplyDeleteLol. I was there and Ulrich wanted to walk out when he saw the dismal crowd.
ReplyDeleteThere is no way the Brooklyn GOP will go with Ulrich against Brooklyn's only GOP elected official. Malliotakis has made it clear there is no way in hell she is supporting Ulrich for Public Advocate. Now, Liam and his club will, further alienating Liam from Brooklyn's only Republican elected.
The only decent applause Ulrich got is when he praised Malliotakis. Whole event was ill conceived from the beginning.
ReplyDeleteGail, 154's comment about seeing 'who the club and the county endorse' might be the most absolutely irrelevant thing that has ever been posted on this blog.
ReplyDeleteIt's 'irrelevant' because: 1) there is no 'club' (Surely Liam has no club worthy of the name) - and 2) whoever something called 'county' might endorse don't mean a thing anymore, if it ever did (Don't forget, 'County' endorsed Marty Golden, and lots of active Republicans voted and worked for somebody else. And do the words 'bi-partisan' and 'transition committee' mean anything to you?)
Vote Steve Saperstein , Frank Legend or Denaro for county chair! They are the future
ReplyDeleteSaperstein and Denaro are legitimate candidates, anyone who refers to himself as legend and needs an ID to get into a bar should reassess.
ReplyDeleteLet’s see if Saperstein or Denaro actually have the balls to tell Liam to fuck off or if they’ll fall in line because they’re still scared of Jerry and co. Time will tell. If they actually do what they should do then I’ll give them credit. Until then they are still puppets like everyone else.
ReplyDeleteLiam McCabe is the only Brooklyn Republican out there working for a Republican candidate for Public Advocate. Plus his new Verrazano Club is his attempt to pick up the ball that was dropped by the remnants of the Starace and Seergy Clubs and whoever says that they are leaders of those fossils of Republicans in Brooklyn who let down Marty Golden and Steve Saperstein big time.
ReplyDeleteBob Capano come back to the Brooklyn Republican Party, become a real chairman of a real party. All is forgiven.
ReplyDelete608
ReplyDeleteI hear Capano, Eaton and Cats are thinking exactly that
Sorry Bob, too late for 2019!
ReplyDelete701
ReplyDeleteWrong again..can do affidavit to BOE for immediate change when party loses ballot status
Ahahahaha
I believe 718 is correct ..seems Capano has some powerful folks and lawyers looking into how quickly he can return to GOP..and lead it
ReplyDeleteWho in their right mind would return to the Republican Party at this point in history?
ReplyDeleteFire up the pizza !!
ReplyDeleteBob is back !!!!
Get the shots ready ..Liam is back
ReplyDeleteBob played a minor role in ousting Golden and spoiling it for Q.
ReplyDeleteJust what the GOP needs.
at 9:28 AM lololololol
ReplyDeleteHe really is delusional if he wants to be a Republican after costing us the Council and Senate Seats.
ReplyDeleteQuaglione and Golden lost because the Brooklyn GOP organization was non existent and years of civil war between the Eaton and Kassar factions destroyed. Blame the people who started that whole disaster. Hint, it had nothing to do with Bob Capano.
ReplyDelete
ReplyDeleteWait a minute. Is there any DNA evidence to prove any of this?
Is Eaton's DNA under Marty's fingernails and on his neck and back?
Does that pizza crust and the empty beer can next to it have Capano's DNA on it?
And that shot glass has McCabe's fingerprints on it, but it's Quaglione's DNA around the rim. OMG, what's going on there.....

That old lady marty ran over has her DNA on his bumper
ReplyDeleteRESPONSE: THE "YOU CAN LOOK IT UP" EDITION
ReplyDeleteTO ALL OF THOSE INTERESTED IN WHO LOST WHAT FOR THE BROOKLYN GOP & WHY.....
THIS ISN'T ROCKET SURGERY, IT'S ALL A MATTER OF PUBLIC RECORD AT THE NYC BOE
Marty Golden is the only Republican that lost the only GOP Senate seat in Brooklyn in 2018; and John Quaglione is one of several Republicans that ran for the City Council on the GOP line in 2017 and lost.
Bob Capano might have lost as the Republican candidate in elections prior to 2018 and 2017, but he absolutely DID NOT "... cost[ ] us the Council and Senate Seats [in Bay Ridge, Dyker and surrounding areas in 2017 & 2018]."
CAPANO FOR BKLYN GOP CHAIR
ReplyDeleteCAPANO can make history as the first chairman of 2 political parties in Brooklyn..wow!!
ReplyDeleteBob "might have lost" is great spin gale.
ReplyDeleteJust like Liam "might have lost'
ReplyDeleteChairman, Future Chairman, Columnist , Professor Business Executive,Transition Committee Member to State Senator Elect Gounardes ,
ReplyDeleteI can't wait for you to win again as Brooklyn GOP Chair
Capano has all his enemies surrounded on three sides.
ReplyDeletecapano is a legend

We love u Columnist , Business Executive, Chairman, Transition Committee Member, Professor , News Commentator
ReplyDeletebrooklynreporter.com/2018/11/max-rose-defends-his-vote-against-nancy-pelosi/
I will take a GOP Chairman with all the titles like Capano over a TLC Operator who works for De Blasio anyday..Republican committee members will also when informed of this via mail in a race also.
ReplyDeleteRESPONSE: THE "IS ONE OF MY BSIs GOING ROGUE?" EDITION
ReplyDeleteTO: "ANONYMOUS SAID... AT 3:57 AM"
IN A SPIRIT OF BI-PARTISANSHIP, I CAN SEE GIVING CONGRESSMAN-ELECT MAX ROSE A BIT OF A HONEYMOON, BUT SHILLING FOR HIM OVER AN INTRA-PARTY ORGANIZING VOTE ???
IT'S TIME TO GET BACK TO BEING AN INDEPENDENT >>> GOP <<< BLOG, FOLKS --- HOPEFULLY, 2018 WAS AN ABERRATION >>> WE NEEDED TO PURGE SOME REAL BAD REPUBLICANS <<< AND WE GOT THAT DONE WITH THE HELP OF OUR FELLOW GENERAL ELECTION VOTERS, MOSTLY DEMOCRATS WITH PLENTY OF INDEPENDENTS AS WELL
However, one of my BSIs with all the "titles" seems to be getting really wild and crazy. One day he's coming back into the GOP, the next he's doing PR for the real "other side".....
Let's not make the mistake of projecting OUR motives and goals onto others, especially if hard evidence indicates that those "others" are not likely to share them. Even if they had briefly been "allies"; don't forget they were allies of convenience and mutual need --- that moment has come and gone.
GM at 7:48 absolutely terrific comment. Completely agree.
ReplyDeleteGM
ReplyDeleteWhy so hard on Capano, I think he was speaking in his academic, Politcal Science Professor capacity giving his academic analysis of what Katinas asked..who can deny that Pelosi did tell Dems do what u have to to win, which is what Capano noted
RESPONSE: THE "IT'S >>> NOT <<< 'TOUGH LOVE' " EDITION
ReplyDeleteTO: "ANONYMOUS SAID... AT 10:28 AM"
I DID MENTION THAT CERTAIN SOMEONE WAS ONE OF MY BSIs --- THAT MEANS I DEPEND ON THEM FOR A LOT OF WHAT APPEARS ON THIS >>> INDEPENDENT <<< GOP BLOG..... THERE ARE A FEW DEMOCRATS AMONG MY BSIs, BUT THEIR STUFF IS USUALLY FYI "INSIDE POOL" FROM THE DEMOCRAT SIDE, WHICH IS ALWAYS GOOD BACKGROUND MATERIAL FOR ACTIVIST REPUBLICANS
MY REPUBLICAN-TYPE BSIs ARE COMPLETELY DIFFERENT, THEY SHOULD PROVIDE ME AND MY READERS WITH THE INSIDE SCOOP OF WHAT'S HAPPENING IN THE BROOKLYN GOP AND CERTAIN MINOR PARTIES --- BEING ON DEMOCRAT "TRANSITION COMMITTEES" AND TOUTING INTRA-PARTY VOTES BY NEWLY ELECTED DEMS DOESN'T GIVE ME ANY CONFIDENCE THAT THIS PARTICULAR BSI WILL STILL BE GETTING US GOOD GOP STUFF ANYMORE
I still love this guy like a sister, but his recent moves and comments are making me and a few other non-traditional Republicans nervous that this BSI's latest "wild & crazy" won't work with our old and comfortable "wild & crazy."
