*** L O L *** Ian Reilly felt so >>> DEFAMED <<< that he got some lawyers to write a letter

Marty Golden's campaign boss, Ian Reilly, leads with Marty's chin  ---  in another massive unforced error

Some shysters named Warshaw & Bernstein let one of their guys,  Russell W. Rosen,  send out a “lawyers letter” to Democrat State Senate hopeful Andy Gounardes on behalf of State Senator Marty Golden’s campaign boss,  Ian Reilly

Seriously ???  ---  I mean  >>> SERIOUSLY !!!!! <<<

WHAT’S  THE  BEEF ???   Well,  it looks like Ian-baby found somebody,  who must have gotten his law degree as a prize in a box of Cracker Jack(s) to call one of the solicitation letters from a group calling itself  “ANDREW FOR NEW YORK”  a defamation of Mr. Reilly by Mr. Gounardes  ---  maybe I got this wrong,  BUT I think that Ian Reilly,  Russell W. Rosen and Warshaw & Bernstein got this thing 100% ass backwards and upside-down.

Because there ain't no falsehood,  there ain’t no lawsuit here:   no libel  ---  no slander  ---  no per se  ---  no per quod  ---  no intrinsic defamation  ---  no extrinsic defamation  ---  no damages  ---  AND  ---  because everybody involved is a public figure [and involved in an election campaign] the standards of proof of malicious intent are almost impossible to attain

Let’s start with the fact that Ian Reilly’s name isn’t mentioned in the solicitation letter,  which only says that it’s about somebody on Marty Golden’s  “payroll”…..   I don’t even think that Ian Reilly technically is on any payroll of State Senator Marty Golden’s…..

This "lawyers letter" is complete and absolute horse shit;  >>> and so is the Proud Boys lovin’ Ian Reilly,  who almost single-handedly turned out the lights of the venerable Metropolitan Republican Club forever when he invited one of the Proud Boys’ top toughs to speak at that club and street violence involving the Proud Boys ensued quickly thereafter outside the well-known GOP site.  Besides,  even without his now close Proud Boys connection, which has been reported-on across various types of media,  somebody like Ian Reilly is unslanderable,  and everybody knows it.   He has no reputation that is worth thirty-six cents  ($ 0.36).

I hope that some lawyer for Mr. Gounardes,  or maybe even Andy himself,  replied to the Russell W. Rosen letter on Warshaw & Bernstein letterhead with a appropriate “Dirty Harry” response:   “Go ahead,  make my day”…..

  2. If Craig Eaton was still chair maybe Morgan and Saperstein would have a chance..I just saw Craig is doing an event this weekend for Dan Donovan..he is doing more as a former chairman than the current chair

  6. God Bless you Chairman, Professor , Columnist, Business Executive .

I saw in social media you standing with Marc Molinaro in NYC today at the press conference calling for term limits for all elected officals..Great job!!

    ReplyDelete
  7. I saw Molinaro today talking to Capano personally for several minutes and then on his public remarks said more than any other party h3 was proud to be on the Reform Party line and urged voters to pull the lever for him there (watch it yourself on facebook/Twitter).

    Wow..Capano continues to roll..amazing

  8. Many NYC Reform candidates there, including from Bklyn..but no Saperstein, I hear he was invited.mso much for a commenter here that said Capano "abandoned" him...so much for that..when sap loses can't blame capano

  9. Saperstein has a good chance to win but whoever helps him is only helping Steeplechase Liam, Robert, and Alexandra. Within a couple of days they’ve gone from saying that they deserve most of the credit for a Saperstein win—can’t stop laughing—to saying that they are engineering Marty’s win. Meanwhile Sap calls the district leaders begging for help.

TO: "ANONYMOUS SAID... AT 8:18 PM"

IN DIRECT ANSWER TO YOUR QUESTION: NO ! THIS BLOG IS NOT FOR GOUNARDES OR ANTIFA.....

ON THE OTHER HAND, IT PROBABLY IS >>> AGAINST <<< A LOT OF WHAT IAN REILLY HAS DONE WITH/FOR MARTY GOLDEN, AS WELL AS THE COLLATERAL STUFF INVOLVING THE "PROUD BOYS" GETTING THE MET REPUBLICAN CLUB FORUM AND NEGATIVE HEADLINES FOR THE ASSOCIATED VIOLENCE, BOTH DIRECTLY RESULTING FROM IAN REILLY'S CONNIVANCE IN SCHEDULING THE EVENT

The instant post by me above is pretty much focused on the stupidity reflected in the "lawyers letter" addressed to Andrew Gounardes allegeing some kind of slanderous words by Mr. Gounardes about Ian Reilly.

I made it clear that I viewed this as yet another unforced error by the Golden Campaign.

BTW, if Ian Reilly is on anybody's "payroll" --- IT SHOULD BE GOUNARDES'..... Yes, I think that Ian R has been THAT BAD for Marty G !!!!!

  18. Ted Ghorra was at another Conservative Party Dinner last night. The Brooklyn Conservatives have an actual office headquarters and several luncheons and dinners each year. The Brooklyn GOP occasionally rents Dom Sarta’s Office basement. The only event this year was an early morning breakfast. The Conservatives are spending money on several candidates while Ghorra is using every party resource to elect Saperstein and hopefully save his position. It wasn’t that long ago when people were criticizing Craig Eaton because at his events the rolls weren’t warm enough or the valet wasn’t fast enough. Under Ghorra the next part of this progression is going to be McDonalds and then the food carts on 86th Street. Although to be fair it would be more than Ted has done so far this year.

  23. Here are the facts as reported by one of my top BSIs:

    1) Many Reform Party candidates attended the big press event in front of Federal Hall on Wall Street Thursday. A NY1 unit was there as well as many other media folks.

    2) The event was ostensibly in support of term limits, but it was also a chance for GOP Gubernatorial contender Marc Molinaro and his Lt. Gov candidate Julie Killian to strut their stuff for the entire event. Both Molinaro and Killian spoke about the virtues of the Reform Party and the benefit to their campaigns of being endorsed by the NYS Reform Party.

    3) Of local interest, Brooklyn Reform Party Chairman Bob Capano introduced and spoke about the slate of Brooklyn candidates who were in attendance at the event. I should also be noted that for some reason Steve Saperstein was not there.

[A source close to the discussions told me that Capano specifically had invited Mr. Saperstein along with all the other candidates endorsed by the Reform Party in Brooklyn. For some reason best known to him, Saperstein said no.] Let nobody say that Reform Party Chairman Capano left any of his candidates in the lurch, least of all Saperstein.

Nobody should blame >>> Capano <<< if Saperstein loses. Capano has tried to weave Steve into a variety of Reform Party events, all to no avail. This recent decision to take a pass on the Wall Street event just continues a pattern of bad decisions by Steve Saperstein. After all the history of corruption in the 46th AD with the two prior assembly members in the 46th having significant criminal problems, making term limits a big deal looks like it could have been a home run issue for Steve. In addition, the Wall Street photo-op with the gubernatorial and Lieutenant Governor candidates running with Saperstein on several tickets would have been tremendous.

More bad advice from Liam and the pychos..steves decisions on who to bring aboard have cost him big time ..I even here Nicole was embarrassed by his last fundraiser with 12 people...why would Steve pass up a chance to stand with his gubernatorial candidate on an issue that is a home run for his district???? Who the hell made that call ...

  25. Golden is really getting desperate. Andrew is really getting under his skin.

He had Cox and many others, including Kassar, Morgan, Ian and others call Cats and Cats' people to get a letter to Greeks. And someone on this blog earlier, said the letter was agreed to "two weeks" ago..guess that was a lie. The letter just went out Thursday of this week.

Was a ringing endorsement of Golden, a letter five days before the election.......

Also, I personally just received a letter from two Greeks in Bay Ridge touting Golden's experience in the Community Board as Vice Chair. The letter looked like it was drafted bt a five year old, and was a useless letter.

Golden is pulling out all the stops now...how desperate an old man he has become.

    ReplyDelete
  26. 1109 am is Correct..Golden is desperate..the letter was a pro forma letter..nothing special...nothing about any personal relationship/friendship between Cats and Golden..

    ReplyDelete
  27. Cats really made Capano and Eaton look foolish..talk about throwing people under a bus

    ReplyDelete
  28. I just got a letter in the mail from Marty Golden's 3rd grade teacher
Says Marty was a very good boy and deserves a gold star

    ReplyDelete
  29. All the press covering the state senate mid terms focus on 3 or 4 races. The Golden race is not one of them. Nobody thinks Marty has a problem.

    ReplyDelete
  30. Anony at 1147. How did Cats embarrass anyone by sending a generic letter five days before the election?

Seems like it is much more embarrasing to Golden that, (a) his people had to beg and gravel to get the letter, and (b) if they were such Great Friends as Golden always says, why didnt Cats endorse him six months ago and give him a lot of $$?

1147, you need to get a reality check here.

And by the way, has anyone even gotten the letter whcih was mailed yesterday? If the Postal Serbvice is true to its reputaiton, the letter should land on Wednesday.

  43. Anony at 226, you are really not that smart.

We all know that Cats doesnt really care about Golden or Ghorra and just wrote this letter for Golden because everyone begged him to, including John Flanagan who was on the Cats show on Wednesday. Flanagan specifically asked Cats to help the old man as well so Cats signed the letter Thursday.

So, by posting repeatedly on this blog lies about their relationship, will only piss Cats off more, every time he sees these lies. I personally will fax your blog post and all future bogus posts to Cats so he will see them, and then he will take it out on Golden and Ghorra, and do less for them, if that is even humanly possible.

So you see your fabrications are not only transparent, but they will soon backfire on you and Golden and Ghorra. Hope you are happy with what you have created!

    Great job sir!

  57. RESPONSE: THE "YOUR DESPERATION IS SHOWING" EDITION

TO: "ANONYMOUS SAID AT... 5:26 AM"

IT IS QUITE UNSEEMLY FOR YOU TO BE SO BRAGGADOCIOUS ABOUT SOME THING SO TRIVIAL AS THE CATSIMATIDIS' >>> PRO FORMA <<< FB POSTING.....

BUT THIS IS ABOUT SO MUCH MORE THAN A LACK OF GENTILE CHARM BY ONE OF MARTY GOLDEN'S "DEAD ENDERS" OR POSSIBLY EVEN DEAD END MARTY HIMSELF..... I AM QUITE FAMILIAR WITH THE TORTURED BACK-AND-FORTH SURROUNDING THE >>> ALLEGED <<< CATSIMATIDIS "ENDORSEMENT"

Nothing in the FB posting referred to by you mentions anything that either Andrea or John Catsimatidis intend to do for Marty between now and election day --- guess what; they've already finished doing it. All you got from them was a few bare biographical details about Marty and the implication that he only recently became a state senator.

Marty spent a lot of blood, sweat and tears to get this, and there was a lot of arm twisting on Golden's behalf, because it was such a "Heavy Lift"; and in the end, Marty G didn't get very much at all.

As for the Greeks --- the ones that count know the real story; just ask Charlie Cap.....

Like I said above, your over the top reaction to this not only bespeaks your lack of grace, it is a very clear "tell" that things are going badly for Marty and that you and your colleagues are grasping at straws.....

Let me spell it out for you; your comment shows that you have become very D-E-S-P-E-R-A-T-E as the 2018 campaign dwindles down to just a few days..... I wonder why !!!

    ReplyDelete
  58. 347 pm (probably Bob or Craig) really show how embarrassed they are..first the commenter says what Cats did doesn't matter, then threatens to show Cats comments to prevent any further "help" down the road...so either what Cats did matters or doesn't. Can't have it both ways...Cats has come through for Golden as all knew would (except Capano and Eaton). .

  61. How ironic that the cast that made Cats life miserable in his Mayoral race in 2013, the same one that led the vicious smear campaign against Cats and even kicked out an elected official from their office because she sensibly supported Cats over soporific Lhota, and bragged that they would end his political career before it started, now has to grovel and beg hat in hand at Cats feet. I'm told that after Ted's desperate "stalking" didn't get anyone to listen, that Cox and Flanagan had to beg Cats to let Golden on his show, telling him that he would be directly responsible if the Republicans lost the State Senate.

    ReplyDelete
  62. A little birdie told me today that Liam is already closing up the Verrazano Bridge Club and forming the Donald DeCunto Regular Club. Any truth to this rumor?

    ReplyDelete
  63. Eaton looks very bad here no matter how you slice it..

    ReplyDelete
  64. Any time a billionaire who is one of the most politically well connected people in the country consults with a trusted friend like Craig about a political decision, makes Craig a winner no matter what. It took Flanagan and Cox to beg practically in tears and all Cats did was write a letter and book him on his show two days before the election. After talking so much shit about Cats years ago, what we are getting is hysterical sighs of relief from the same crew that just a few years vowed to end his career.

  65. A PERSONAL OBSERVATION: THE "FOREST AVENUE" EDITION

I WAS OUT-AND-ABOUT AROUND 2:00 PM THIS AFTERNOON AND SAW WHAT I THOUGHT WAS THE BASE FOR A MOVIE SHOOT ON FOREST AVENUE IN STATEN ISLAND --- THIS IS WHAT IT REALLY WAS --- A RATHER LARGE SATELLITE OPERATION FOR MAX ROSE --- WHEN I ASKED SOMEBODY WHAT WAS GOING ON, I WAS TOLD THAT SEVERAL MORE OF THESE THINGS WERE HAPPENING AROUND THE CONGRESSIONAL DISTRICT

What I saw with my own eyes was a well-organized base for a street operation and about a hundred very motivated volunteers for Max Rose.

    ReplyDelete
  70. Only $75,000? Marty must be cutting back. The "full buff" isn't what it used to be.

    ReplyDelete
  71. I wonder if Cats knows how much he damaged Eaton' s credibility.
Ghorra came through again for Marty.

    ReplyDelete
  72. Nice try 3:50. This might have been the last straw for Ghorra. Having shown to be completely incompetent this campaign cycle and dragging down the entire ticket, he couldn’t even get his copious calls to the Cats Family returned. John didn’t make his fortune by being a fool and knows Craig was one of the few people truly loyal to him in 2013 who actually tried to win the race.
Meanwhile Ghorra was posing for photo ops with Lhota. Those two have much in common when it comes to enthusiasm for campaigning.

    ReplyDelete
  73. People like Diane Atkins and Maureen Daly need to stop with their blind loyalty to Ghorra. They have no clue about history of Cats and Eaton and how Golden and team did everything publicly and behind scenes to hurt Cats in mayoral campaign. John C doesn't forget those things, that's why the best Golden got was a tepid endorsement a few days before the election

    ReplyDelete
  74. 4:23 is spot on. Most people know very little about the heavy handed tactics (and that’s putting it mildly) used by Team Golden against Cats in 2013. Cats came within a couple hundred votes of winnng Brooklyn, his best showing after Staten Island. Back then Golden and Kassar were bragging they ended Cats political career before it began. Don’t kid yourselves, if Cats took this long to give a tepid endorsement to Golden after being lobbied by the entire New York State GOP, imagine what they did to Cats during the Mayoral contest.

    ReplyDelete
  75. The posters above have no clue about the history of the Brooklyn GOP, so Anon at 423 must be right, when they peg the posts on Daly, the red headed bimbo and Atkins, the useless and brainless BOE employee. What a crop of losers those two are. Daly who got a gig with the NYS GOP and tries to work on campaigns and steal money from the candidates and Atkins who runs around like she is a brilliant strategist who had to beg to get a job at the BOE where everyone else who works there, including "sunglass kid" Reilly is unemployable in the private sector. This ladies and gentlemen in the Brooklyn GOP Team. How scarry is that?

As for the "glowing endorsement", I have seen the FB post and it is obvious it is not "glowing" and was forced. Cats only did it because or pressure place upon him.

And all intelligent people know that a weak endorsement, if you could even really call it that, only minutes before the election when they have been begging for months, really doesnt show any real support at all.
