"Marty Golden Defends Nazis" --- And apparently, at least a few Proto-Nazis are supporting Marty Golden on the campaign trail

Jerry Kassar plays a couple of Alt-Right victims' cards for his boss State Senator Martin Golden and his colleague Ian Reilly  ---  sort of the way Joseph Goebbels used to do it for Adolf What's-His-Name and his crowd of bully boys.....

Golden's campaign boss,  Ian Reilly, is at the center of a lot of  Sturmer-like Sturm in the final weeks of the 2018 campaign

I love to get my political-historical insights from the likes of Helen Forrest and Harry James,  because they were popular around the time when some of us actually were fighting the Nazis:   "It seems to me, I've heard that song before...  It's from an old familiar score...."  Believe it or not, the Nazi Reich's chief propagandist, Joseph Goebbels, played the "victim's card" many, many times on behalf of his Nazi colleagues and the whole Nazi shooting match  ---  he and the rest of them had some set of balls when it came to stuff like that.....

Now, we have Jerry Kassar trying to pull the exact same thing.....

Only a Marty Golden sycophant, like Kassar, would try to turn some sidewalk grafitti into the "Reichstag Fire"   ---   and he surely has,  if you believe what Stephen Witt is reporting on his blog,  "Kings County Politics"  (See  "The mud keeps slinging in Golden/Gounardes Election Campaigns" by Stephen Witt,  10/24/18,  Kings County Politics / 22nd Senate District Race    [https://www.kingscountypolitics.com/the-mud-keeps-slinging-in-golden-graffitti-election-campaigns/]).

According to Steve Witt's  reporting,   "....   Less than 24 hours after a political debate [that] resembled something more akin to the Jerry Springer Show than to a battle of verbal skills, derogatory graffiti was found chalked on the sidewalk in front of both State Senator Marty Golden‘s (R) district and campaign offices....   The graffiti reading ‘Marty Golden Defends Nazis’ was put in chalk on the sidewalk in front of both Golden’s 7408 Fifth Avenue District Office and his 7615 Third Avenue campaign office. The sidewalk vandalism alluded to Golden’s refusal to fire Manhattanite Ian Reilly, a campaign staffer, and who as chair of the Metropolitan Republican Club invited and allowed to speak alt-right leader Gavin McInnes before the club on Oct. 12...."

And according to Witt,  here's what Kassar had to say about it  ---  "....   Golden chief of staff Jerry Kassar said the graffiti was discovered by workers early this morning and that police were called and the graffiti was quickly removed. The police likely have the person that chalked up the sidewalk on video, and once identified that person will likely be charged with harassment, said Kassar...."   Get it  ???  Kassar is sayin' something like this:   "We're the victim here....  And we had to go to the cops....  (But,  of course we destroyed the evidence right away,  because we don't want anybody to be able to prove that we did this to ourselves....)"

This stuff has been percolating for some time;  and two of Marty Golden's top people are right in the middle of it  ---  Mr. Kassar and Ian Reilly.  Here's how Mr. Witt describes the whole thing  ---  "....   Kassar said Gounardes has been fabricating a narrative that Reilly is a white supremacist, which isn’t true....   'They [the Gounardes camp (brackets in Witt's text)] is slandering this kid,' said Kassar. 'And Marty won’t take that garbage.  We’re not looking for a guy to have his life destroyed for something that isn’t true.'..."

Well, maybe it is or maybe it isn't.....

Here are the facts:  since Ian Reilly took over the Golden campaign,  it has increasingly taken on the look and character of  a "bully boy" operation.  Over the summer, there were immediate threats of violence by the Golden side when "Fight Back Bay Ridge" (FBBR) dared to exercise their First Amendment rights to pass out anti-Golden political material at the first "Stroll on Third"  (those events have been well documented here on this blog, and by local and city-wide media).  ---   Fast forward to the Xaverian debate a couple of nights ago  ---  After all attempts to show community support for State Senator Golden at the debate failed completely,  and following a miserable showing by Golden himself,  a crowd of Golden supporters, including Kassar, had a major social melt-down, and they tried to make it physical.  The most noteworthy instance was when Kassar and other of Ian Reilly's  "Proud Boys" wannabees tried to intimidate one of the Democrat participants in the Xaverian debate,  a black woman candidate running in Bay Ridge named  Mathylde Frontus.

In spite of all the controversy swirling around Mr. Ian Reilly  ---  including charges of supporting White Supremacist and Neo-Nazi toughs  ---  State Senator Golden has refused to do anything other than voice his full-throated support of Reilly;  and to issue denials through spokespersons, in spite of well-documented evidence to the contrary.

The truth of the graffiti at the two Golden sites is manifest.....  So is the fact that a bunch of Sturmer-motivated bully boys have coalesced around and are actively supporting the Golden campaign, which is still being run by Ian Reilly.

  1. Justin errrh...I mean Gale. You should disclose that Fight Back Bay Ridge is a far left political action committee registered with the board of elections with the goal of defeating Republican politicians and are surrogates for Andrew Gounardes. You should let people know that first and then go on your delusional rantings.

  2. Marko errrrh ... I mean Anonymous. You should disclose which of the posts you make are done on government time, which are done on campaign time, and if there is any overlap between the two.

  3. FLASH UPDATE: THE "YOU CAN'T MAKE THIS UP" EDITION

THERE IS SKULDUGGERY AND THERE IS HACKERY --- AND SOMETIMES THERE IS HACKERY THAT INVOLVES SKULDUGGERY --- MAKING CHUCK OTEY THE EDITOR OF ANYTHING IS HACKERY --- MAKING HIM AN EDITOR SO THAT HE CAN ENDORSE MARTY GOLDEN IS HACKERY THAT INVOLVES SKULDUGGERY

    This is fast breaking news.....

Marty's campaign is in such trouble that the only plays that might work are Doug Flutey "Hail Mary" passes.

This Chuck Otey thing at the Home Reporter and whatever else is just one of those Flutey-type passes. It has only one purpose --- to put in a fix for an endorsement for Marty.

    More when I get it.....

  4. How did the Verrazano Club do yesterday? Someone said they had 20 or more folks show up. Not bad for a. Ew club. Maybe they can pick up the slack from the clubs that used to be active.

  5. 9:52 harpies of Fight Back Bay Ridge go back to your trustfunds and trolling. Truth hurts and you've got nothing but the usual played out false accusations.

  6. Wow. Liam really put John Q to shame with his Verrano Rep club meeting last night. It is clear Republicans chose the wrong candidate to go against Brannan and Liam is the future. John Q ran twice and lost. He is a goner

  7. Photos show about 50 people, but overwhelmingly they are GOP District Leaders from other parts of Brooklyn, or members of other existing GOP clubs in the greater Bay Ridge area. No new people, and as far as we know, the new club hasn't adopted a specific Assembly District to call home, and isn't building anything new or recruiting new people or new blood.

In other words, last night was a circle jerk.

  8. There were no rules, or by laws adopted..no election ..typical Liam dog and pony show..no wonder Q trounced him in the primary

  9. All hail Liam..the future of the Brooklyn GOP

    ReplyDelete
  10. As a Brooklyn Republican with no horse in this race I’d love to know why Ted Ghorra couldn’t get these BOE employees to Xaverian the night before to support Marty Golden where it was an overwhelmingly pro Gounardes crowd.

  11. Liam will be in rehab again soon..many other more "stable" folks to lead us..

  12. Liam had over 100 people. It was packed.

  13. On election night Liam will be on a bender and Republicans want stability

    ReplyDelete
  14. 2:30 why do you guys always feel the need to grossly exaggerate? The 40 or so people gathered is respectable enough. The fact that most were either BOE employees and inspectors not so much.

    ReplyDelete
  15. Liam had over 300 people. Spilled into the streets.

  16. Stop this. I was at Liams. It was 150 people tops.

  17. Uncle Marty really stepped in it tonight during the NY1 Debate.

When asked why he pays his male staffers an average of $60,000 a year, but only pays his female staffers just $40,000 a year, Marty said female staffers are only part time.

    ReplyDelete
  18. That's 'cause Marty wants women to be home in time to cook, clean, and have more babies.

  19. UPDATE & BACKFILL: THE "FINE OLD TRADITIONS MUST DIE SO THAT MARTY GOLDEN MIGHT LIVE ON" EDITION

BAY RIDGE'S SUPER-HACK CHUCK OTEY IS PUBLICLY SUCKING MARTY GOLDEN'S DICK >>> AGAIN <<< --- THIS TIME, IT'S WITH A VERY SPECIAL AND SINCERE SUPER-HACK'S GUSTO.....

SINCE I AM FINDING THAT PARTICULAR ACT A LITTLE TOUGH TO DESCRIBE ADEQUATELY, I'll COPY Y'ALL ON A VERY GOOD ITEM THAT WAS FORWARDED TO ME BY ONE OF MY MOST DEPENDABLE BSIs

    Here it is:
    "From: Bob Cassady <[ URL....com]>
    Date: 10/25/18 [....] PM (GMT- [.....])
    To: [.....]
Subject: Chuck Otey has taken over the Home Reporter

    My fair neighbors,

My dear friend, the late Francis Griffin, founded The Home Reporter in 1952, from its offices on the northeast corner of 88th Street and Third Avenue in Bay Ridge. The street bears his name to this day. And never once since 1952, did his Frank's newspaper endorse a political candidate. Instead, the local paper of record, even through multiple owners, has stayed steadfast and neutral, covering all issues through the community-minded neighborhood lens, as a local newspaper should.

Tomorrow that will all change as Charles "Chuck" F. Otey, throwing nearly 70 years(!) of tradition to the wind, has convinced new publisher Dozier Hasty to have the Home Reporter & Spectator endorse Senator Marty Golden's re-election loud and proud. Senator Golden, now in the fight of his career against a nascent Democratic challenger, will grace the front page of tomorrow's paper(s) followed by a glowing endorsement essay by Chuck Otey the paper's new Executive Editor. The innocent and venerable Paula Katinas will be the new political editor. We assume the others will all be fired to make way for the new regime under the watchful eye and control of Big Brother in the form of Chuck Otey and his childhood pal Senator Marty Golden. Today's a very sad day and I'm left to wonder what would dear old Walter Kassenbrock think of this?

For the sake of full disclosure, personally I am a long-time supporter of Senator Marty Golden but even I find this desperate act appalling. At a time when the free press is under attack from our President, do we need a quasi state-controlled house organ in our own backyard? I've found this news to be terribly troublesome. Breaking nearly 70 years of tradition is wrong and Chuck Otey is a disgrace for doing so to help his old friend Martin. In one fell swoop, Chuck Otey has violated every stitch of journalistic integrity that ever was in this fair neighborhood.

  20. The Home Reporter has become a liberal rag.
Justin Brannan’s propaganda piece. Time to right the ship. How long did these fools think they could keep pissing on advertisers and survive?

  21. I think those bombs were made in Poland

    ReplyDelete
  22. Even DiCarlo had fulltime female staffers who were paid a decent salary.

    ReplyDelete
  23. Liam had over 100 people. if they help Marty, Steve and Dan on election day then you will see a good turn out.

    ReplyDelete
  24. Photos of Liam's event, from various angles, show about 50 people. It's a decent turnout, so stop inflating it. Maybe next time there's a meeting, they will aim for new people. It does the GOP no good in Bay Ridge if the same 50 people turn out for everything.

    ReplyDelete
  25. New political club? It was a thinly disguised recruitment event for Election Day workers. Meanwhile Golden supporters were vastly outnumbered at debate the night before while Ted was ordering robo calls for this event. Ridiculous.

    ReplyDelete
  26. NONE of those people were the old GOP except for the old district leaders. These were NEW people. Trump voters and Democrats leaving to join the GOP. I looked at the photos the row of seats are 10 or 11 across and at least 10 rows deep. Plus people along the walls. What about people milling outside. This was impressive. These are crowds bigger than the Bay Ridge Dems and bigger than then Bob Howe's, Clorinda's or Arnaldo's old clubs events

    ReplyDelete
  27. 5:31 please wake up you’re obviously dreaming.

    ReplyDelete
  28. The Daily Worker bought The Home Reporter.

    ReplyDelete
  29. Yeah, people milling about outside ... on their way to the grocery store, oblivious to any meeting.

  30. I just saw on Facebook that Craig Eaton and Bob Capano were guests of John Catsimatidis as he and the Red Apple Group were honored by the Caribbean American Chamber of Commerce in Brooklyn last night. So much for those insinuating here that Cats and Eaton not close. The Upper East psychos probable have some explaining to do to Kassar and Saperstein after telling everyone they got Capano fired and that they were close to Cats. Guess not that close as haven't seen them sitting at any Cats tables.
    Ahahahahahahahahahahahahahahah

    ReplyDelete
  31. 7:48 you just gave the Upper East Side Psychos their next mission which will be to find a way to sit next to Cats. Word is even Marty’s people have asked Saperstein not to bring them around anymore. Kassar’s not the only who was played by them as Saperstein probably realized at his fundraiser on Sunday.

    ReplyDelete
  32. I am sure the Upper East psychos will try and photo bomb a photo with Cats as he's walking out of his office..
Pychos! I hear more and more people not returning Saperstein calls for $ or anything else..

    ReplyDelete
  33. I thought Saperstein dropped out

    ReplyDelete
  34. Sap has been invisible ..not way to run campaign down home stretch...his mailing looks like done by children

    ReplyDelete
  35. Steve should win this race easily but Liam and the Upper East Side psychos hung him out to dry. They couldn't come up with volunteers for him so now they are "combining" forces with Marty Golden which basically means they have to rely on Marty for everything. Notice how Liam and the upper east psychos are focusing a lot more on Marty's campaign? If its not something that includes Marty they won't even mention Steve. It has always been about them and never the candidate.

    ReplyDelete
  36. Steve is still the sucker

    ReplyDelete
  37. But I thought that Verrazzano club had 200 people last night? Going all the way into the street maybe they could have asked them to help Steve. Oh that’s right 99% of those people were either from BOE or looking to work as inspectors on Election Day and wouldn’t lift a finger to help without getting paid.

    ReplyDelete
  38. 934 am..great point!!

I am sure the psychos promised Steve an army of volunteers and a Catsimatidis fundraiser and Sap fell for it hook, line, and sinker..
    Ahaha

    ReplyDelete
  39. Steve is just the latest sucker in a long line going back to David Garland, Rebecca Harary, Joe Concannon, and even Michael Grimm. Marty and Nicole were headlining the fundraiser and I hear not a single one of their big donors showed up. But hey Liam, Jerry, and the psychos took a lot of pictures and video something near and dear to their hearts. Oh wait but this was an event to help Steve? Maybe the fundraiser was a dud because the people were lining up in the street instead of going inside just like what happened with Verrazano event.

    ReplyDelete
  40. A commenter on this blog asked why Capano wasn't doing anything to help Saperstein by being a "put bull" toward Frontus...seems like a smart man to me

    ReplyDelete
  41. NYS Dem poll has Gounardes up by 4 and Frontus up by 11

    ReplyDelete
  42. 11:30 is fake news. Everybody knows Marty comfortably ahead in all the polling but Andrew people claiming that it’s skewed. Even DACC has Saperstein ahead that’s why Abbate is being brought in.

  43. 1141 is fake news. Everybody knows Andrew is ahead in all the polling but Golden people claiming that it's skewed. Even RACC has Frontus ahead that's why Saperstein begging Obrien to do some mail..

  44. Will "Liam" McCabe had about 40 people tops at that meeting and half of them will be either be dead or in Boca Raton by the time they have their next meeting. An old buddy mine from Queens said Liam called him begging him to show up! Sounds like Liam couldn't muster enough Republicans from the actual area to turn up. That's not a good sign. But if Liam's master plan was to get Kassar and Golden to respect him again, he did a good job. I heard Golden was just grateful to be in a room where everyone wasn't yelling at him and telling him to resign. The future of the local GOP is bright and white.

    ReplyDelete
  45. The future of the Brooklyn GOP is bright and variegated as long as people realize that delivering the party to Jerry was a bad idea. Time for drastic changes and even Marty must realize this by now.

    ReplyDelete
  46. When Golden and Sap go down, it is all over for Kassar, the psychos and will McCabe (anyone know why he changed his name?????)

    ReplyDelete
  47. McCabe couldn't even crack 1,300 votes in the GOP Primary last year. Brannan got more votes in his Primary than all of the GOP candidates combined. I am not a Brannan supporter but I believe Council District 43 is a goner. We need to focus on Marty's district, the 46th AD and the 64th AD and Donovan's seat naturally. Those appear to be the only seats where we can stem the tide

Just don’t expect the “dear leader North Korea” treatment anymore. Here’s a thought instead of trolling everybody on social media go help constituents. Real ones you know the kind who live in the district.
