Ralph Perfetto is back as Democrat leader of the Northwest corner of Bay Ridge

Ralph was the CONSENSUS CHOICE to replace his long-time nemesis Kevin Peter Carroll as Brooklyn member of the State Committee and Brooklyn Executive Member from 64th AD

Perfetto is anxious to get back to work with his own former "co-leader" Joanne Seminara rebuilding the Democratic Party infrastructure in the northern end of Bay Ridge,  where he says that Assemblyperson Nicole Malliotakis has built up something for the Republicans in the Dem vacuum of the last few years

Ralph plans to reach out to all the existing local Democratic clubs to ask for their help in his party building efforts.  That includes embracing the same club that had launched the career of Kevin Peter Carroll,  the man that had taken the leadership of the 64th AD from Ralph several years ago  ---  the "Brooklyn Democrats for Change."

Another important contact for Ralph is Councilman Justin Brannan.  Ralph said that he was very close to Justin before he became a member of the NY City Council;   and that longstanding relationship will be cultivated now that they both hold politically significant offices simultaneously.  Brannan's base is with the "Bay Ridge Dems,"  a club that Ralph hopes will be 100% onboard for his rebuilding program in the 64th AD.

At this point Ralph says that he is only partially vindicated  ---  he intends to continue fighting the charges brought against him several years ago by DA Hynes, who was doing a political contract for Perfetto's political opponents  ---   "John O'Hara's charges were overturned, now I'm using the same team to work on mine...."

ALL OF THIS AND RALPH PAID FOR BREAKFAST AT THE BRIDGEVIEW,  TO BOOT.....

  1. Gail, so the price of good coverage on your blog is a free breakfast? No news there.

The 64th is more than just the 'northwest corner' of Bay Ridge, it's about half of Bay Ridge; and the rest of it is in Staten Island.

  2. The Perfetto prosecution translated into the end of the Hynes-Carroll dog and pony show that had fooled the voters of Bay ridge for decades. The Carroll family has a history of calling themselves reformers only to sell out to whoever the county boss is. The strange thing with the Carrolls is how little it takes to buy loyalty. An example was the race Kevin ran against Ralph. The Carrolls made a deal with Hynes that if Hynes indicted Ralph on some Trumped up charge Kevin would run as the reformer who would vote to remove brooklyn chief molester Vito Lopez. Carroll won the primary and the next day Vito got him a job as a scheduler for a city councilman. Then Kevin voted to re-elect boss Vito. I suppose one cant blame Kevin for selling out. After all a scheduler for a councilman does pay 27k a year.

In the end the Hynes-Carroll scam failed. The proof is both Hynes & Carroll were tossed out of office like yesterdays Irish Trash.

And now Ralph is back. Kevin Carroll fooled nobody as the results from his losing council race show.

  3. All it takes is free breakfast !!!

When I think of all those White Castles I bought Gale. And for what?

  4. Didn't Amy Winehouse write a song about Kevin?

  5. 1. Will Perfetto be representing himself in efforts to overturn his conviction?

    2. Kevin is far removed from his Park Slope relatives. Even they were aghast at his elected-as-a-reformer-on-Tuesday, cut-a-deal-with-County-for-a-job-on-Thursday tactics.

    3. Kevin leaving office this year was a result of his own personal problems. He may be an idiot, but even after the trainwreck of a Council race last year, he might have run/won this time.

    4. Hynes and Lopez are still very bad dudes. That won't change.

    5. There was no Hynes/Carroll scam, or even a deal. Even back then, none of his Slope relatives would waste any political capital on him.

  7. 10:46 is doing the old bullshit line of this Carroll has nothing to do with that Carroll.

That aint working. And if the Park Slope Carrolls have nothing to do with Kevin than explain why John Carroll of the Slope was hired by Hynes as an assistant district attorney a month after Kevin Peter was elected?

  8. RESPONSE: THE "CLASSIC HITCHCOCK BLONDE" EDITION

TO: "ANONYMOUS SAID... AT 10:12 AM"

LET'S CALL IT "NORTH BY NORTHWEST"

I looked at the BOE AD map online. Boy, is it hard to decipher.....

There is some truth in what you said (not the part about breakfast)..... Actually, the 64th is a little less than half of Bay Ridge with other pieces of Bay Ridge proper inside the 46th, 49th and 52nd ADs.

So I'll compromise and say the 64th AD is the "North by Northwest" portion of Bay Ridge.

  10. I checked the map of the 64th and it says most of it is in Richmond. That explains the Joan Baez song.

  12. A FURTHER BUT SADLY NECESSARY RESPONSE: THE "UNKINDNESS OF RAVENS" EDITION

    TO WHOM IT MIGHT CONCERN

MY POST ABOUT RALPH PERFETTO WAS NOT INTENDED TO BE A PILE-ON FEST AT THE EXPENSE OF KEVIN PETER --- I SUPPOSE I BEAR SOME OF THE BLAME SINCE I DID MENTION KPC AS A "NEMESIS" OF RALPH'S.....

KPC and his family, both in the Terrace and in the Ridge, always did right by me --- and I wish him and all of them well.

I have had lots of friends from and in politics; many didn't/don't like each other, with a few others it's gone even deeper than that; so, it's complicated all the time and gets very complicated some of time.

  13. Hey Gale lets not forget the Carrolls have a history of using the contacts with Hynes to lock people up.

But the beauty of politics is that Ralph was instrumental in getting Hynes out of office. When The Bay Ridge Democrats endorsed Ken Thompson for DA in 2013 it was the end of Hynes. Ralph personally bound over 3000 signatures for Thompson. On primary and election day Hynes lost Bay ridge twice to Bed Stuys Thompson.

No District Attorney in New York City had been defeated in over 100 years but Ralph outsmarted them all.

  14. None of this has anything to do with the Republican Party.
    Why is it here?
Why don't the Democrats have their own blog?

  15. Is Craig Eaton still around? Ralph Perfetto did more as a local district party leader and as a former leader than Eaton did as a borough party chairman ..Perfetto has been more active out of office than Eaton who has been totally ostracized out of the brooklyn, city, and state political circles by Golden

  16. Ralph is back !!!

  17. Ralph is out painting the town. I saw him last week at a Bay Ridge event surrounded by woman. He does know how to live it up.

I saw Hynes recently in Breezy Point. He looks like a nervous wreck. Who can blame him. Everybody knows about the millions of dollars he stole from the DA's asset forfeiture accounts. That $40,000 fine he paid recently had nothing to do with that.

  18. Heya, say what ya want but Ralphy Perfetto coming back to reclaim his glory was an outstandingly skillful move no doubt choreographed by Big Bad Brannan the new shrewd local Democrat boss. The message could not be more clear: it is the end of the soft Democrat era of Gentile, Hynes and Carroll and the official beginning of Boss Brannan's reign. Absolutely masterful. Frankly, I am impressed and I am not typically a fan of King Brannan but I give credit where it is due and this was an outright masterstroke! I give it 4 Stars ★★★★

  19. Jonathan Yedin the author of the post above is having a meltdown trying to reassure his boss after Brannan’s real boss Mark Treyger told him to go home and get his shine box.

  20. Anonymous at 2:42 must have no life

He is obviously the guy who keeps talking about Eaton all the time, talks about Eaton and Cats, Eaton and Capano, where is Eaton?, etc etc. And since nobody else has talked about Eaton on this blog for a while, he has now even desperately trying to compare Eaton to Perfetto, to just get stir the pot. It is so funny and transparent.

But to answer your question as to "where is Eaton" I saw a lot of photos of him in Nebraska this weekend, where it appears his youngest son just began Medical School. He was there with his beautiful wife, his other son who is a lawyer and his daughter who is a Special Ed teacher. And a lot of earlier photos show him spending a lot of time at his Mansion on the Bay in LBI or on his yacht.

Wow Eaton is such a loser - I really feel sorry for him. We should all feel so sorry for him.

  21. Speaking of which, does anyone here know what Brannan and Quaglione might have been discussing in the back booth of the Bridgeview tonight? My sources say Quaglione is hedging his bets and looking to cut a deal. Wouldn't be the dumbest thing Q has ever done that is for sure

  22. Gail, let this be a lesson to you. Write something nice about any Democrat and like vermin they'll come in and infest your blog. One exception was some slimy pro-Ghorra-pro-Golden troll who used your post about your friend Ralph to bash Craig Eaton.

    ReplyDelete
  23. Eaton wears many gold bracelets and rings. He must be doing very well. Why do you all hate him so much and blame him for your own shortcomings?

    ReplyDelete
  24. You are right 7:49.

Eaton is probably so so so upset he no longer can hang out with corrupt politicians like Golden and people who have never held a real job like most of our electeds and their staffers (wink, wink, fatboy Kassar and the rest of Golden's crew of losers).

Probably one of them is the guy who keeps posting like 2:42.

    ReplyDelete
  25. 753 They hate Eaton because he left on his own terms, decided not to run again, and then screwed Golden, Kassar and his crew and made them all look foolish on his way out.

AND, they hate him because he showed Golden and Kassar he was never going to be their patsy or puppet like the toupe challenged, do nothing, puffing his chest out all the time Ghomora.

Wow, did I say all that?

  26. Ever notice how well fed pols are?

    ReplyDelete
  27. Not too shabby Eaton. A lawyer, special ed teacher and future doctor. You really didnt do too well, did you?

    ReplyDelete
  28. On a totally separate note, and to digress a bit, look at the recent Golden and Ghorra BOE filings.

Very telling. A month or so ago, someone posted here that Ghorra raised over $ 50K with a Don Trump, Jr event. Where is the $50K? Nowhere near that was raised.

And Golden spends a lot of $$ at the Manor still...wasnt he under investigation for that with the US Attorney?

  29. 7:49 Yeah didnt Kassar get really fat? And frail and old looking. A shame about his health isnt it?

But they do say, KARMA is a bitch my friend!

    ReplyDelete
  30. 7:49 don’t know about Kassar’s health but with Eaton gone and his puppet firmly in charge of the Brooklyn GOP, Kassar is getting everything he wants.

  31. Ralph Perfetto accomplished more politically during his time in exile than most realize.
Except of course for Hynes. By the time that old beer can realized what Ralph was up to it was to late to do anything about it.

    ReplyDelete
  32. 8:55 is correct. Ralph Perfetto orchestrated the endorsement of Bay Ridge Democrats for Ken Thompson for District Attorney. It was clear to all that Hynes was toast. Then Kassar and Long turned Hynes into a two time loser by convincing the old crook to run in the November election on the Republican and Conservative lines. Dumb & Dumber.

  33. RESPONSE: THE "MUCH MORE TO IT THAN THAT" EDITION

TO: "ANONYMOUS SAID... AT 8:55 PM" & "... AT 9:36 PM"

AS FAR AS RALPH PERFETTO IS CONCERNED, IT WASN'T JUST WHAT HAPPENED AT THE BAY RIDGE DEMS --- THERE WAS SOMETHING EVEN BIGGER THAT HAPPENED LATER

Ralph Perfetto did much more than what has been reported so far vis a vis the Thompson-Hynes Democratic primary in 2013.

There was another candidate in the run-up to the primary in 2013, Abe George.

Mr. George had raised some real money, and he had filed enough signatures to withstand any challenges to his petition to run in the Democratic primary against Hynes. Thompson even had stated publicly that if Mr. George remained in the race, Hynes would be the winner in any three-way Democratic Primary election.

The first approach at asking Mr. George to withdraw and support Thompson was made personally by Ken Thompson himself. It occurred on the night that both candidates, Thompson and George had appeared at a meeting of the Bay Ridge Dems. It was a complete fiasco that only hardened Abe George and his team's determination to stay in the race through to the primary.

Ralph's key move was made in early- to mid-July, 2013. It involved a long conversation with Abe George's top political advisor, a person well-known to Mr. Perfetto and also widely regarded as the chief "operative" working against DA Hynes on all fronts for many years. It was the engagement by Perfetto of the recognized anti-Hynes operative in the Abe George campaign that was instrumental in getting Abe George to agree to withdraw his petition to run for DA a week later.

I had contemporary accounts of all these things from the "operative" when they occurred in 2013. In the years since, all of these events were confirmed to me personally by Ralph, Abe and the "operative" multiple times in open-ended and free-wheeling discussions, most of the time they were at the Bay Ridge watering hole Skinflints --- over beers and/or dinner.
