Marc Molinaro, the GOP candidate for Governor, who is conducting “Town Hall” events all around New York State, chose the nearby venue of Richmond Town for his first foray into NYC
The absence of any Brooklyn GOP or Conservative Party representation at the first NYC “Town Hall” appearance of the GOP Gubernatorial Candidate Marc Molinaro highlights the disorganization and alienation of Marty Golden’s entire Brooklyn operation
The l atest crises with speed-cams and BRFB
complaints apparently have completely diverted the attention and manpower of the entire Marty
Golden team --- a major GOP and intra-party event was
completely blown by both the Brooklyn Republican and Conservative Party
establishments
Tonight,
Dutchess County Executive Marc Molinaro, the Republican, Conservative and
Reform Parties candidate for NYS Governor held his first “Town Hall Meeting” in
New York City at the Columbian Hall, 397
Clarke Avenue, Richmond Town, on Staten Island. The candidate spoke for about twenty (20) minutes; and then Mr. Molinaro went on for about another forty (40)
minutes taking a variety of questions from a crowd of over a
hundred (100+). Originally scheduled at
the Old Courthouse in Richmond Town, the
larger than expected crowd required the short move to the larger Columbian Hall
nearby.
Also
at the event were Congressman Dan Donovan, Assemblywoman Nicole Mallotakis, City
Council Member Joe Borelli, Member of the Assembly Ron Castorina, NYS Reform Party
Chairman Curtis Sliwa, Staten Island Reform Party Chairman Frank Morano and
Brooklyn Reform Party Chairman Bob Capano.
Quite
notably, neither State Senator Martin Golden nor Kings County GOP Chairman Ted
Ghorra showed up; and there was no other
representation from the Brooklyn Republican or Conservative Parties either.
Bob
Capano was the only Brooklyn party official from any of the parties endorsing
Marc Molinaro who attended the event.
Thankfully he represented Brooklyn ably and was well received by all of the
Republican officials there --- including warm greetings and felicitations
from GOP Candidate Molinaro and his small entourage.
I have also been informed that while Bob Capano worked the room
and was in all his glory; a big point was
repeatedly made that the Brooklyn GOP seemed to be in complete disarray at the
present time. Many of the Staten
Island GOPers openly agreed, with
others it was more sotto voce.
The Brooklyn GOP is in complete disarray. Notably not because of Marty or Teddy, but because of the leadership or lack there of, of a certain other party in Brooklyn.
ReplyDeleteGalewyn. This is a classic example of a terrific post that you insist on diluting with FBBR nonsense. They are not in the equation. Team Molinaro indeed shocked by lack of a Brooklyn GOP organization or any semblance thereof. They are avoiding Kassar for several reasons some of which have been vividly illustrated on this blog. Not least of which is that they know just talking to him will probably cost their campaign a few no show jobs for some of his cronies. The Brooklyn GOP is now a wholly owned subsidiary of the KCCP. Get used to it. We did this to ourselves.
ReplyDeleteMolinaros is ignoring Brooklyn conservatives and gop, and Capano and reform party picking up the slack..
ReplyDeleteWho would have thunk it..once again, after many left Capano for dead, once again he is proved to be back stronger than ever.
- Molinaro top supporter recognized by the candidate himself
- Donovan supporter, on stage with Giuliani, others,
- works as executive for a billionaire , two offices away most days
- a party chairman
- new top Brooklyn political column is
- respected Professor

ReplyDeleteWas this nearby campaign event by the GOP-Conservative-Reform Candidate for Governor Marc Molinaro boycotted by the Brooklyn GOP and Conservative Party? If they did, why?
ReplyDeleteWhat did Bob Capano know about Frank Morano's petition scandal, and when did he know it?
ReplyDeleteObviously somebody was snubbed here, but who?
ReplyDeleteThis 'disarray' seems to be bigger than just with Marty Golden, and the Brooklyn Republican and Conservative Parties.
Why didn't State Chairman Ed Cox try to straighten out this mess before it boiled over for all the world to see?
It was a very embarrassing night at the Molinaro event last night for Gokden, Ghorra, Kassar, etc..
ReplyDeleteMolinaros first major NYC event and no Brooklyn representation except for Capano..it was not unnoticed by Molinaro and all there, including press
GM
ReplyDeleteGreat post you ahead of the curve with the coverage that I am sure will be making its way around on this.
Another sign of things going down hill in Goldenland
Assume Eaton wasn't there as he has been ostracized from GOP all over
ReplyDelete814 is "Fake News" - Everybody wants Eaton back - He's welcame all over the place
ReplyDeleteWe actually had a Brooklyn GOP under Craig Eaton. Splintered? Yes. Plenty of infighting? Yes. A real actual functioning party apparatus with an Office? Yes. We'd be lucky to have Craig back. He left in epic fashion on his own terms.
ReplyDeleteFLASH BACKFILL: THE "NOW, THAT'S A STRANGE LEAD CATEGORY" EDITION
ReplyDeleteA COMMENTER ABOVE ASKED THIS SNARKY QUESTION: "WHAT DID BOB CAPANO KNOW ABOUT FRANK MORANO'S PETITION SCANDAL, AND WHEN DID HE KNOW IT?"
WE DID OUR DUE DILIGENCE AND FOUND THAT THERE MIGHT BE SOMETHING BREWING VIS A VIS MR. MORANO AND SKUNKY SIGNATURES ON ALL KINDS OF PETITIONS --- BUT TO BORROW A LINE FROM THE MOVIE "CHINATOWN" --- "IT'S JUST STATEN ISLAND..." --- NOTHING ABOUT BOB CAPANO THOUGH; THIS IS A NEWS STORY HE WANTS NO PART OF
According to a report by NY1 --- "..... NY1 found several [ ] questionable signatures of supposed Independence Party members on [ ] petitions..... The name of Frank Morano, a prominent Staten Island political operative and radio talk show host, is listed on the petitions as having collected the signatures. Morano is chairman of the Staten Island Reform Party, but he often helps Republicans.... The petitions were submitted to get three Republicans, surrogate court candidate Ron Castorina, assembly hopeful Mike Reilly and state senate candidate Andrew Lanza, spots on the Independence Party's ballot line.... Morano's signature appears under a section of the petitions attesting to the fact the voters identified as signing them did so in his presence.... A Board of Elections official says forging signatures on ballot petitions violates election law.... NY1 called Morano three times leaving messages, and texted, emailed and tweeted at him seeking comment. He did not get back to us.... The Board of Elections tells NY1 it has no comment...." ReplyDeleteCAPANO STRIKES AGAIN
ReplyDeleteMolinaro camp complaining no Brooklyn GOP HQ for lawn signs, stickers , etc. last night
ReplyDelete10:15 please shush now. Every time Ted uses Dom Sarta’s basement he has to pay him $300 according to campaign filings. What a joke.
ReplyDeleteThat sounds like some really corrupt payola, is there any kickback, do yuh think?
ReplyDeleteTed Ghorra seems to be witless, clueless and spineless; that's two things worse than Mr. Loopner.
ReplyDeleteDoes the Brooklyn GOP show up en masse when Queens holds an event? No.
ReplyDeleteDoes the Westchester GOP attend Bronx GOP events? No.
Gubernatorial campaigns are organized on a county level. There is nothing to this story. Except the Morano petitions.
1225..only problem is Molinaro camp said they couldn't do a town hall in Brooklyn because no organization
ReplyDeleteThey couldn’t do townhall in Brooklyn because they haven’t come up with the protection money to the cons yet.
ReplyDeleteI dont think a dispute exists about a GOP organization in Brooklyn. We have had supposed chairpersons who thought leadership consisted of blogging. If it wasnt for the conservative party no opposition would exist.
ReplyDeleteJust stop that. The Conservative Party never was about opposition any more than it was about conservatism. It was a Nelson Rockefeller creation to split the conservative opposition to him, both among Democrats and among Republicans. Rockefeller owned it, after he died, it was a party for sale. The John F. Gangemi story beginning to middle tells it all, the beginning is Wells, the middle is Long.
ReplyDelete1:34 spot on. Conservative opposition? Give me a break. It’s a glorified patronage mill that can’t even provide much patronage anymore.
ReplyDeleteParties operate with patronage, money, victory. Thats the conservative party way.
ReplyDeleteNY POST GOES AFTER MARTY GOLDEN'S BR MANOR AND COUNTRY CLUB EXPENSES
ReplyDeleteThe NY Post is pumping up an Andrew Gounardes proposal to outlaw a politician spending campaign funds in a business owned and operated by the politicians family. According to the Post, Gounardes would call it the "Golden Rule" because it is clearly aimed at the Golden family's Bay Ridge Manor where Marty has spent almost 800,000 of his campaign dollars.
Also mentioned in the article is how Marty ha used donated money to pay country club dues.

ReplyDeleteIt all evens out. $800,000 is about what Marty Golden's reckless driving and speeding have cost him and his insurance company over about the same time period.
ReplyDeleteStrange the right leaning Post would go with this.
ReplyDeletesocial and alternative media has this story as a win for barkan.
ReplyDelete9:37 So Conservative news outlets should not report corruption by conservatives?
ReplyDeleteRESPONSE: THE " 'RIGHT LEANING' POST" EDITION
ReplyDeleteTO: "ANONYMOUS SAID... AT 9:37 PM"; "... AT 10:54 PM" & "... A 2:40 AM"
9:37 PM, AT BEST, THE NY POST IS >>> SOMETIMES <<< "RIGHT LEANING" AND HAS SOME "CONSERVATIVE" SOUNDING WRITERS..... IN THE PAST IT HAS BEEN MORE NEO-CON THAN ANYTHING ELSE, BUT LATELY IT HAS BECOME DETERMINEDLY CENTRIST AND OCCASIONALLY EVEN SPOUTS SOME SHIBBOLETHS OF THE LEFT --- BUT ALL OF THAT IS OKAY; AND IT REMAINS MY CITY-WIDE DAILY OF CHOICE --- BECAUSE OF ITS CORPORATE AFFILIATION WITH FOX AND THE REST OF THE MURDOCH MEDIA EMPIRE, IT IS ON A MORE STABLE FINANCIAL FOOTING THAN THE DAILY NEWS, WHICH LOOKS LIKE IT'S ON ITS WAY OUT SOON --- THE TIMES REMAINS THE TIMES, THE LIBERAL ESTABLISHMENT PAPER OF RECORD; OF COURSE, WITH THE OCCASIONAL "PINCH" SULZBERGER-STYLE DEEP DIVE INTO LOONEY RADICAL LEFTISM TO SEE IF ANYBODY IS PAYING ATTENTION TO WHAT HE'S UP TO ESTABLISHING HIS OWN "LEGACY" AT "THE OLD GRAY LADY".....
10:54 PM, IF SOCIAL AND ALTERNATIVE MEDIA HAS THIS NY POST PIECE AS A "BARKAN WIN" --- THEN THEY HAVE IT WRONG (UNLESS HE HAPPENS TO WIN HIS PRIMARY)..... RIGHT NOW, IT IS A BIG BOOST FOR ANDY-BOY GOUNARDES, "PERIOD - FULL STOP" --- BTW, I THINK THE RECENT SWITCHEROO AT THE NY POST VIS A VIS MARTY GOLDEN HAS A LITTLE TO DO WITH ONCE AND FUTURE GRISTEDES ADS.....
2:40 AM, AS YOU CAN TELL FROM WHAT I SAID TO "... AT 9:37 PM" --- I DON'T THINK THE NY POST IS A "CONSERVATIVE NEWS OUTLET[ ]"..... AND AS SHOULD BE OBVIOUS FROM MOST OF WHAT I'VE SAID ABOUT MARTY GOLDEN FOR YEARS, MARTY GOLDEN IS NO KIND OF CONSERVATIVE RECOGNIZABLE TO ME
I'm exhausted..... I should have done this comment with the cap-lock on.....
